About this job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual with experience in project management who also loves working directly with the people we support. The ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences and deliver the project objectives will be essential for this role.

This is a ‘time-limited’ ‘test and learn’ externally funded project. The ‘Community Connections project’ – will help people living with and affected by MS to navigate support services ensuring that they have access to the support they require, at the time of their choice, and is delivered in a way that best suits their individual needs.

This is a fixed-term project until March 2026.This is a full time role comprising of 35 hours per week.

This role is specifically focused on South West England and will require extensive travel to regions such as Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire. Home working will be considered for applicants residing outside these regions.

Working closely with people affected by MS, Key external partners, our funder Wales and West Utilities, the Service and Support Team, the Cymru Director, and the wider MS Society teams. You will be outcome-focused and deliver tangible results. You will need to forge strong partnerships with key stakeholders and represent the MS Society at key meetings and events in the project area.

This role can be based anywhere in Wales but there will be an expectation of travel throughout Wales and the project area (Wales, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire), the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Job Description

To take the lead in recruiting volunteers across Yellow Submarine’s projects and activities and provide support to volunteers enabling them to carry out their roles through training and pastoral support.

The successful applicant requires exceptional organisational ability and a willingness to support and get involved. Key Duties*

Refugee Council – Philanthropy Manager
Location: Stratford, London (hybrid of home working and 1-2 days per week in Stratford Office)

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.

Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.  Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment.  Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system.  The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.

As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.

This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team and presents an exciting opportunity to grow Refugee Council’s established Philanthropy programme. The role will be responsible for delivering and creating bespoke development plans, supported by engaging cultivation and stewardship activities to secure increased funding from existing and new donors. TreeHouse School is a non-maintained special school for pupils aged 4- 19 with Autism and learning difficulties.

About the role:

We are seeking a new Head of Business and Operations to play a crucial role in supporting the Head to review and drive continuous improvement.

The key responsibilities in the role will include:

1. Finances: You will oversee and manage all finances and a multi million pound budget for the school.
2. Human Resources: This will include leading on people strategy, workforce planning and performance management including evaluating the schools operational model.
3. Systems and Processes: One of the immediate priorities for this role will be to evaluate systems and processes (for monitoring areas outlined in the job description) and seek ways to streamline these with innovative solutions.

We are excited to be recruiting a Philanthropy Manager to join our Fundraising Team. This is a new role which will be instrumental in setting us up well to grow income from major donors over the coming years. We are looking for an experienced major donor fundraiser, who can bring their skills and expertise to take this strand of fundraising to the next level. The role is being recruited on a fixed term basis, with a possibility to convert it to a permanent post after 12 months, subject to performance.

The Philanthropy Manager will build relationships and secure funding from high-net-worth individuals, working closely with the Director of Philanthropy, CEO, and a newly established fundraising committee to develop this area of fundraising. This will involve developing new events and stewardship opportunities to create engaging experiences for prospective and existing supporters. The post will report into the Director of Philanthropy.

This role can be based at any of our four Brilliant Club offices, located in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff. We expect some travel will be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings.

• Has a track record of building funder relationships and securing income from major donors, ideally in the education or social mobility sector

The Role:

Main purpose of the role:

The Volunteer Facilitator will provide effective coordination, administration and support to volunteers including recruitment and orientation. You will link with local groups and volunteer networks to promote opportunities within L'Arche. The Volunteer Facilitator will be creative in the identification and development of roles that use volunteers' skills to bring friendship and other benefits to the Community.

Key essential criteria
 

• Knowledge of social care organisations, the third sector and issues facing adults with learning disabilities;
• Experience of volunteering (ideally within the social car sector) and volunteer management or HR or coaching;
• Experience of maintaining databases: accurately recording information, reporting and identifying errors in data;
• Competent in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint); 
• Supportive and enthusiastic about working with an organisation which is both a high quality service provider and an ecumenical Christian community open to people of all faiths and none;
• Self-motivated and ability to manage own workload on a daily basis and be accountable for the delivery of own workload;
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS record check;

Home-Start is here to ensure that no parent or carer with young children feels alone. Through volunteer-led home visiting support, we provide emotional and practical support to parents and carers with young children facing challenges such as isolation, mental health difficulties and poverty. Home-Start London is an independent charity that connects and strengthens the 16 local Home-Starts in the capital so that together we can reach more families. Collectively, our network supported over 6,500 families including 9,500 children last year.

About the role

Working closely with the Director and Home-Start staff, volunteers and partners across the capital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our joint projects and activities from our peer learning groups and network events to our growing portfolio of funded partnerships.

What you'll be working on:

- You’ll take the lead on coordinating our peer learning groups, joint research and volunteer recruitment campaigns

- You’ll support the Director to secure and manage funding partnerships, including monitoring plans and budgets

- You’ll oversee development and monitoring of Home-Start London’s annual operational plan

- You’ll regularly engage with local Home-Starts and partners, ensuring they are shaping our work

- You’ll oversee logistics for network events

- You’ll provide administrative support, from raising invoices to organising/chairing network meetings

- You’ll create content for our website and social media to help promote our work

- You’ll manage office volunteers, ensuring they are happy, effective and well supported

 About you 

To thrive in this role, you will be highly organised with excellent multi-tasking skills and previous experience of project coordination and/or operational administration. You will be a great relationship builder, able to support people to work together effectively while ensuring agreed targets are met. As much as you enjoy collaborative work, you will also be happy working independently under your own initiative.
