Job Summary

The Management Development Advisor will be delivering and implementing innovative training programmes for our employee managers in line with our HEART values. The role will be expected to positively impact and interface with all parts of our organisation and we are looking for someone who is passionate about developing managers and able to practically lead on delivering on our training commitments with the colleagues from across People and Culture and Community Engagement Network. About You

To be successful in this role, you need to be educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4) including Maths & English, minimum 5, Learning & Development / CIPD / Training / Teaching or similar relevant qualification, experience in Researching, creating, designing and delivering management development programmes and training  solutions including virtual and blended methods, Skilled and knowledgeable in the development of leaders and managers, learning and organisational development models, continual improvement approaches, methodologies and ability to deliver creative and engaging Management Development events through excellent training and facilitation skills.

About the Role

• Deliver in-house training, development and upskilling programmes which are aligned to meet organisational and individual needs, including induction, people policy, management development, bespoke development programmes for teams, personal skills and other training activities. You’ll take a blended learning approach, tailoring to different learning needs and styles for staff and managers.
• Collaborate with the People and Culture Leadership team to influence and surface organisational matters, to support the delivery of the People Plan, actively working with the Leadership & Management Development (LMD) Partner in the development of manager and colleague training and development initiatives ad upskilling to respond to management development improvements

Purpose of the Job 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical lead working within our Mental Health Support Teams and wider Children and Young People’s Services. As an integral part of our services, you will ensure the high-quality delivery of mental health interventions for children and young people. You will provide  clinical supervision and support to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice and national guidelines. This role involves overseeing the delivery of low-intensity and early intervention mental health support within schools and the community for children and young people between the ages of 5-18 (for young people with SEND under 25). In addition, you will ensure professional development and clinical governance.

Job Summary

The role includes:

• Providing case management and clinical supervision (1:1 and group) and some line management
• Supporting the team to write sensitive and appropriate reports concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of children and young people
• Carrying out clinical case file audits to ensure high quality practice and to support practitioners and trainees
• Ensuring that practitioners and trainees work within their scope of practice and adhere to professional standards
• Ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice in accordance with national guidance and national and local policies (including NHS and educational frameworks)
• Escalating referrals where the level of need is beyond the scope of the service
• Contributing to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the MHST model
• Where appropriate, directly delivering sessions to more complex young people or families

Person Specification

 

Essential

• Professional qualification (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing).
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BPS, BABCP, NMC, Social Work England).
• Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in child and adolescent mental health, including direct work with children and families with complex needs
• Experience of providing clinical supervision to practitioners working with children

The Ruth Strauss Foundation has ambitious plans for growth over the next 5-10 years and this new role will be pivotal in driving forward our philanthropic growth. This role will lead the development of our major donor programme, building a portfolio of major donors to become part of a lifelong family of RSF donors. The primary focus will be the acquisition of new major donors while maintaining the retention of existing donors. Developing cases of support and impact reports, this role will create bespoke, tailored communications to major donors based on their needs and motivations to support.

The position involves developing a supporter-centric philanthropic journey which will drive an excellent supporter experience and ensures our major donors enter into a lifelong relationship with RSF. Networking and representing RSF at events will be essential in representing the foundation externally, including leading on hosting major donor events for the charity.

We're looking for a talented Individual Giving Manager to join our small team. The role will be responsibile for the delivery of our excellent supporter stewardship, care and retention programmes, whilst driving fundraising growth. 

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of Women for Refugee Women’s (WRW) individual giving fundraising strategy, including through a variety of income streams such as regular gifts, High Net Worth giving, corporate support, events, and legacies; to develop and deliver WRW’s support engagement journey in order to generate income from individual donors and to develop strong and long-lasting supporter relationships; to oversee and develop our stewardship retention programme; and to contribute to WRW’s overall fundraising strategy and income generation.

INTRODUCTION

St George’s Hospital Charity manages a portfolio of over 200 Special Purpose Funds (SPFs), with a total over £3.6m. These funds, comprising donor-gifted and community-fundraised income, are designated to support specific wards, departments, research areas, or staff and patient groups. Each SPF is overseen by designated Fund Advisors, comprising staff from St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) and City, St George’s University of London, who hold delegated authority for expenditure approvals and funding applications. With over 350 Fund Advisors, effective stewardship is crucial.

We have developed a new organisational strategy focused on enhancing our impact through grant-making, and we are now in an exciting phase of implementation. The Grants Funds Manager will play a central role in delivering this strategy, specifically by implementing a more streamlined and impactful approach to working with Fund Advisors and managing our SPF portfolio. This role will be pivotal in facilitating the transition to a more efficient and effective model of SPF giving. The Grants Funds Manager will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the SPF portfolio, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing, and administration, requiring collaboration across the Charity, the Trust, and the University at all levels.

ABOUT ST GEORGE’S HOSPITAL CHARITY

St. George's Hospital Charity, an NHS charity, supports St George’s University Hospitals’ NHS Foundation Trust which via its St George’s Hospital in Tooting and Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton, serves a large population across southwest London, extending support to tens of thousands of patients, staff, and community members. Our daily efforts significantly impact patients, their loved ones, and many dedicated healthcare professionals.

Presently, we contribute grants and generate funds of £2 million annually. With an ambitious goal, we aim to double both our yearly fundraising and grant allocations to reach £4 million within the coming years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Purpose of the role

To support senior management, the board of trustees and the wider charity leadership team with the strategy implementation, the management and administration of the Charity’s SPFs. As a priority, in the next 12 months, this role is tasked to implement the SPF strategy which has been agreed by the Charity’s Board of Trustees. The strategy is to re-organise and restructure the shape of the SPF portfolio of funds to minimise administrative burden, maximise the charity’s flexibility in spending decisions and reflect the best possible structure of services in the hospital so that we can deliver our charitable purposes of advancing healthcare to maximum effect.

This is why we are looking for someone who has expertise in change management, stakeholder engagement and strategic communication who is able to understand Charity Commission guidance and apply it. These are the skills necessary to implement the SPF strategy.

The next stage of the strategy will require a very strong grasp of detail, strong and confident communication and organisational skills to ensure stakeholders understand planned changes, in order to secure their support for them.

Background to the role

This role was originally created to provide dedicated resource to optimise the efficiency of our SPF portfolio, and champion these SPFs both internally among the Charity’s staff and externally within the Trust and University.

This is a role which must operate at a micro and macro level, paying attention to the detail of management, administration and systems but also with the ability to think strategically and make recommendations to senior management and trustees. The successful candidate will be highly organised and outgoing and will be an excellent project manager, with lots of initiative and the ability to reach out to people to build strong relationships. 

You will be a key member of the Grants team and be managed by the Head of Grants, but you will also work closely with all charity teams given the nature of this all-encompassing role, including providing an important link between Grants and Fundraising because of the income raised into SPFs.

As BSR’s Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing BSR’s membership offer. You’ll work on plans to recruit members across a range of roles in the rheumatology specialty and engagement tactics to ensure members are retained year on year.

Customer service and member engagement 

• Serve as a key point of contact for all member enquiries, providing an exceptional service

Media Manager

The Role

The Media Manager plays a central role at our charity, working closely with the Head of Media and Media Officer to manage the public relations function. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute national and regional media campaigns to help people better understand our mission and motivate support.

The role is a hybrid of office and home working, requiring occasional meetings in the midlands and/or London. The frequency and location of meetings can be flexible, depending on the location and preferences of the successful candidate.

Main duties include:

• Generate regular, positive, proactive and reactive media coverage for the charity

• Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries

• Work with the Head of Media to develop and deliver impactful PR strategies

• Manage, develop and support the Media and Communications Officer 

• Gather new NHS staff, member and supporter case studies

• Identify and develop high quality media pitches

• Build positive working relationships with target journalists 

• Monitor and evaluate media coverage 

• Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the issues affecting the NHS

About You

You will have experience of leading successful media relations strategies, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be creative and passionate about delivering impactful work, with the ability to be highly organised and manage your own workload.

Lia's Wings are looking to appoint a Fundraising Manager into a brand new role, at an incredibly exciting time for the charity. As the only aeroplane ambulance charity for children in the UK, we are experiencing a period of phenomenal growth, with incredible opportunities and potential for fundraising. 

Being responsible for the management and delivery of our challenge events, special events and community fundraising activities, this role will involve working with some of our most committed supporters on a series of engaging (and fun) events that are continuing to grow year on year. The Fundriasing Manager will also be expected to support our corporate partners, and engage with our Family Fundraising efforts, giving them the opportunity to meet, and work with our incredible beneficiaries first-hand. 

A hybrid role: this post will be mostly remote but will involve travelling to regular (fortnightly) team meetings in central London (Zone 1), or, our operating base at Biggin Hill Airport, and, to manage events across the UK throughout the year. 

The perfect candidate for this role will have experience of managing various types of fundraising events, but first and foremost, we are looking for a consummate fundraiser who is passionate about stewarding fundraisers. We are looking for a fundraiser who can think outside the box, solve problems, and support supporters, donors and fundraisers of all levels, to ensure we maximise every opportunity we receive. 

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this role will be integral to the growth of Lia's Wings, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a role at a small charity, where their efforts will make a real difference.

Over the last year we have had more people than ever before hoping to fundraise for Lia’s Wings, which has given rise to some fantastic new events being created (led by the charity), alongside several wonderful community-led partnerships with schools and social clubs around the UK.

Every year we also have a great uptake in classic charity challenges taking place both in the UK, and overseas, including the London Landmarks and Royal Parks Half Marathon, and the Berlin and Chicago Marathons. We have also had great success delivering our own, bespoke charity challenges, which we hope will continue into the future. For 2025, we are due to complete the second instalment of an annual Lia’s Wings Overseas Cycle Challenge, a Shark dive, Skydive and three peaks challenges, amongst many others, which this role would be expected to lead on, and develop for years to come.

Corporate Partnerships are one of our key income streams, with employees from dozens of companies supporting our events efforts. As well as managing these events, there would be a certain level of devolved account management with these partners, with the post holder becoming the primary point of contact for those firms.

We also have a growing network of community groups – including schools and social groups – who want to support Lia’s Wings as a partner charity. It is an area we would love to expand, with this role being crucial to the ongoing development of these areas.

And finally: for the past two years we have we also hosted a seasonal thank you party each Christmas (our “Jingle and Mingle”) which we hope will be another fantastic opportunity that can be developed by the right person in this role, as a real jewel in the crown of our events portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• To manage our Challenge, Community, and Special Event fundraising streams, to achieve set targets.
• To grow income sustainably from our existing portfolio of events, ensuring continued high performance, engagement, and participation.
• To design, develop, and deliver new events that are suitable for our primary supporter audiences, alongside the Head of Fundraising.
• To effectively steward fundraisers to ensure an excellent supporter experience (resulting in positive fundraising performance, and repeat year on year participation), including appropriate thanking and recognition, reporting, and feedback on outcomes of events.
• To assume account management responsibility for smaller corporate and community partnerships (primarily engaged with the charity through events fundraising)
