We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our small and dynamic but expanding fundraising and communications team during an exciting period of growth for the organisation. This newly created role will be crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and ensure the financial sustainability of the Charity. It will include identifying new funding opportunities as well as producing several initiatives including building on our grant income success.

About the Key Project

The Key Project is an initiative at an Islington secondary school, Central Foundation Boys’ School, which aims to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain admission to top universities. The Project was launched in 2012 through a partnership between international law firm Slaughter and May, ground-breaking educational charity The Access Project and Central Foundation Boys’ School, an Ofsted rated Outstanding school. Slaughter and May provides the majority of the funding and some of the volunteers for the programme.

There are three parts to the Key Project role:

1. Tutoring: Students are either matched with a volunteer tutor to provide them with an hour-long weekly tutorial, or they take part in weekly small group tutor sessions that are led by paid professional tutors.

2. Enrichment: students are offered debating events, workshops, lectures and career insight sessions where they have the chance to discuss the latest developments in science, media and politics and gain a better understanding of the City of London. They can also apply for work experience placements at Slaughter and May or The Access Project’s other corporate partners.

3. University support: students are guided through all aspects of the university application process. They are offered university trips, university course choice and personal statement workshops, as well as individualised one to one mentoring. They are also offered specific sessions for Oxbridge and Medicine applicants, as well as mock admission interviews and entrance exam support.

Central Foundation Boys’ School

Central Foundation Boys’ School is an Ofsted rated Outstanding school with 150 years of history located on the Old Street “Silicon” Roundabout. In 2016, the school was ranked as the 64th best school in the country in the new Progress 8 measure for GCSE, and the school’s Sixth Form was in the top 15% of

all post-16 providers in the country. Since the Key Project was launched, five times more students are going to the top-third most-selective universities in the country

The Access Project

The Access Project believes that every young person should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and make the most of their education. They aim to reduce the educational barriers their students face, helping them to pursue a career in their chosen field and follow their dreams.
Their mission is to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring. TAP work with them to make good applications, get the grades and transition to university.
The programme combats educational inequality and improves social mobility by raising students’ grades and supporting them to understand the pathway to a top university. Students who receive support from TAP’s programme are more than twice as likely to attend top universities as statistically similar students, according to UCAS.

Slaughter and May

About this position

The Key Project Coordinator will benefit from working closely with inspiring young people every day and helping them to transform their lives. The majority of the students from Central Foundation Boys’ School are from non-privileged backgrounds; the Key Project Coordinator plays a significant part in helping to open the door to top universities for these young people by helping them to achieve excellent academic achievements and develop strong interpersonal skills. The school has a mixed gender Sixth Form, and all the students from Year 10 to Year 13 are highly dedicated and achieve outstanding outcomes.

Benefitting from being in a fast-paced, demanding and exciting environment with high levels of responsibility and autonomy, the Key Project Coordinator will be based in the school four days per week. The school is excellently located at the Old Street Roundabout and has an exceptional record of retaining staff due to their happiness at working at the school. The Coordinator will be an employee of The Access Project so will gain a unique experience of working in a rapidly growing and innovative charity.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Key Project Coordinator is the case manager for all key stakeholders who interact with the programme including students, tutors, teachers, Slaughter and May and TAP staff.

Students

• Building strong mentoring relationships with students to drive awareness of and enthusiasm for the programme.
• Delivering The Access Project’s programme of university support activities at the school, including one to one meetings, workshops and assemblies
• Assessing student progress towards being able to make successful university applications by uploading all interactions to our CRM system: Salesforce
• Recruiting students onto the programme in line with our student enrolment criteria
• Matching students with volunteer tutors and liaising with the school to get provisional groups for Group Tuition signed off
• Manging difficult conversations
• Monitoring student attendance to tutorials and devising innovative solutions to encourage attendance
• Using the schools’ existing reporting on students’ academic and pastoral progress to monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate
• Collecting and uploading various data sets relating to a student’s eligibility or performance on the programme. This ranges from consent forms to individual UCAS applications.

Tutors

• Building and managing relationships with volunteer and paid tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme, deliver good quality tutorials, and continue volunteering with us year-on-year
• Liaising with tutors and managing any day-to-day requests that they have regarding The Access Project or their tutee
• Managing tutor attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring systems
• Observing tutorials and giving tutors any necessary feedback

School Staff

• Working with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme.
• Chairing and presenting alongside the Programme Manager at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.

Other Activities

• The Key Project Coordinator based in our partner school from Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, they undertake training, attend meetings, and feed into internal projects to improve the quality of delivery of the programme.
• The Key Project Coordinator supports the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, which can take place on Saturdays and weekday evenings.
• The Key Project Coordinator will be required to support our Central Provision function including staffing our two annual university trips and our university society events.
• The Key Project Coordinator will oversee other initiatives within the school. This will include the improvement of existing initiatives related to supporting students’ progression and the launch of new projects as appropriate.

Supporting Slaughter and May activities at the school

• The Key Project itself will be managed jointly by The Access Project and the School. The Project Coordinator will also work closely with the Community team at Slaughter and May, attending regular meetings alongside their Programme Manager to update on and review the progress of the programme against its KPIs, as well as providing formal termly reports.

The role involves building relationships with staff, students and tutors on a one-to-one basis and presenting information to/running workshops with groups of students and teachers: The Key Project Coordinator will need to be professional, articulate and credible in a range of situations.
• Able to deliver projects and manage administration. The Key Project Coordinator will need to be able to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Able to effectively time manage. The role has a complex and varied workload, involving autonomous working and teamworking, and managing tasks over different periods of time. The University Access Officer will need to be able to plan their time effectively to complete all tasks to pre-set deadlines.
• Able to lead and manage change. The University Access Officer will be the key representative of the programme in school and will need enthusiasm and vision to make this a success.
• Passionate about educational disadvantage. This is a demanding role which requires University Access Officers to be committed to our mission and values (see below) and motivated by and engaged with the work of The Access Project and our partner schools.
• Resilient and adaptable. The University Access Officer will need to adapt to a fast-moving environment in school, and react to challenges and requests from students, staff and tutors.

About the Investment team

The Investment team is responsible for selecting portfolio partners, managing our investments and supporting our portfolio partners to improve and scale their impact. 

The Investment team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles. 

The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.   

The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in school engagement, school attainment and employment sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 5). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest. 

The Investment team has a good track record of role progression. All four Leads and a number of our Investment Directors were promoted from within the team.

Job description – Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA)

The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) is essential to advancing Impetus's mission through providing a clear picture of both the impact of our portfolio partners and the effectiveness of Impetus's support. In so doing, it ensures that strong data collection, rigorous analysis, and actionable insights are at the heart of Impetus’s efforts.

This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented team player passionate about driving social impact. Collaborating closely with the Investment Director - Impact Lead, the SIPA will manage end-to-end data processes, from collection through to analysis and reporting, ensuring data remains accessible and actionable. This role then requires strong communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and portfolio partners, presenting insights clearly to enable impactful, data-informed decisions.

The SIPA will additionally develop performance management tools, such as those within Salesforce, and champion organisation-wide data accessibility.

The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) role at Impetus is integral to enabling us to do the same:

1. To understand how our portfolio partners are performing: the impact they are having, the growth they are achieving and the progress they are making on EDI commitments.
2. To understand how we are performing: how effective our support for portfolio partners is and the impact we’re having on them.
3. To use insights from this information to enable our team to continually improve our support to our portfolio partners to help them become stronger, better and bigger; to reduce the gap between young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and their better-off peers in school attainment, access to university and finding and keeping a job.

Key responsibilities

1.    Data collection and management

• Map annual performance reporting calendar for all relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain and develop templates and processes for i) collecting internal and external data and ii) generating key performance reports. 
• Manage and develop performance databases and knowledge, ensuring i) they meet the needs of different users within Impetus, ii) compliance with GDPR and data security. 
• Lead the collection of tri-annual performance and annual survey data from portfolio partners, Impetus teams and other stakeholders, including significant liaison with Investment Directors.
• Lead and document processes for auditing data quality and understanding nuances in data (e.g. the different outcomes our portfolio partners target, and the different groups of young people they work with).

2.    Performance reporting, analysis, and presentation

• Support definition of KPIs and measurement scales where relevant.  
• Produce regular performance reports vs. KPIs for key stakeholders: Investment Team, all staff, Investment Committee, SMT, Board, and Impetus’ donors and co-investors. 
• In collaboration with the Investment Director, run our tri-annual ‘portfolio review’ process, incl. data collection from portfolio partners, analyses on performance data, pulling-out key insights and risks, agenda-setting, session-planning, facilitation and follow-up.   
• On an annual basis run more detailed and comprehensive analyses on performance data, including portfolio partner outcomes vs. benchmarks, to inform the focus of our annual review. The Annual Review aims to give a full view of our impact and value for money in the year and seeks to improve our programme of capacity-building support.  
• Produce clear and insightful summary presentations in PowerPoint, for a range of audiences.
• Design and develop tools to help make information more accessible for a range of stakeholders, including external comms.
• Present and communicate data (incl. in ad-hoc reports) to help facilitate discussions, enhance our work, and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Document and track progress against agreed actions from Annual Review and Portfolio Reviews, including for strategic planning and projects; implementing relevant actions where appropriate.

3.    Leading on key organisational and ad hoc data/performance projects to deepen understanding of Impetus’ and our portfolio partners’ performance and impact

• Support in the development and ongoing review of Investment team and Impetus-wide impact strategy, plus the scoping and planning of projects within this.
• Play a leading role in ongoing efforts to benchmark portfolio partner outcomes and trace the impact of Impetus’ work on charity performance, including with a value for money lens.
• Lead efforts to transfer all portfolio partner performance data and collection onto Salesforce, including advising the Digital team, wireframing, setting up accessible dashboards and supporting change management efforts.
• Lead ad hoc data/performance projects, such as: i) cross-portfolio analyses of portfolio partner income, costs, staffing and EDI metrics, and ii) supporting portfolio partners to upskill data/ impact management capabilities.
• Work closely with Impetus’ Communications team to support efforts to ensure all staff have a strong understanding of our impact, and that of our portfolio partners, and are confident in speaking to it in their respective work (e.g. Philanthropy in pitching, Public Affairs in comms. on our impact/ use in policy work).  
• Be Impetus’ key point of contact for data and impact, providing support, advice and training on data management and analysis for the wider Impetus team where needed, including contributing to digital transformation efforts.

The SIPA may also be asked to support on other workstreams on an ad-hoc basis.

Person specification

Essential

• Passion for drawing insight from data to continually improve performance and impact, with a strong affinity to Impetus’ mission and EDI commitments.
• A background including data analysis, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs to clearly explain findings and tell a meaningful story.
• Highly analytical and numerate:
  • Experience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from sometimes large and nuanced data sets.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working with CRM systems (experience with Salesforce a bonus).

CRM Learning and Engagement Manager (known internally as DARS Senior User Engagement Officer)

The Development and Alumni Relations System (DARS) team is dedicated to enhancing the University's engagement with its alumni and donors through an advanced constituent relationship management system. Our team focuses on supporting this CRM system to drive fundraising and strengthen alumni relations, ensuring seamless collaboration and continuous improvement in our processes and user support.

About the Role

As a member of the User Engagement team, your role will be integral to supporting and enhancing the University's CRM system for development and alumni engagement. Key responsibilities include:

· User Training and Engagement: Develop and update training courses, create learning materials, and facilitate workshops to ensure effective user engagement with the DARS system.

· Business Process Improvement: Analyse and enhance business processes to optimize the functionality and efficiency of the DARS system.

As a news driven, creative and ambitious Senior Media Officer, you will lead on a wide range of media activities including timely statements, ground-breaking research reports, fundraising appeals and events, and key policy and advocacy moments.  
 
You will also work on projects with celebrity ambassadors, corporate partners and staff from across WaterAid's global federation - all in support of WaterAid's mission to change normal for millions of people living without water, decent toilets and good hygiene so they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. 
 
You will drive, develop and implement proactive and reactive media strategies, use your warm media contacts and build new contacts to achieve organisational communications objectives, including increasing awareness of the global water and sanitation crisis as well as our work around the world and our policy, fundraising and campaigning activities.

• Write audience centric media strategies for advocacy research and reports and campaigns, with political and public stakeholders in mind.

The Role

The Trusts & Foundations Manager (maternity cover) will be an experienced and accomplished Trusts & Foundations fundraiser, who will secure £500k+ in grants towards the Team’s £3.5 million projects income target, enabling the Charity to deliver its exciting capital and activity Masterplan.

Skillful at assimilating and interpreting complex information to craft compelling, high-level funding proposals, self-motivated and tenacious, the post holder will manage a personal portfolio of T&Fs, researching, developing and submitting high-quality, personalised five and six-figure funding proposals to contribute towards individual project targets.

Working as part of a small Team of experienced T&F and major donor fundraisers, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will play a key role in developing and managing the funding pipeline, delivering exceptional donor cultivation and stewardship to secure the income needed and establish a strong and loyal donor base for the Charity.

The post holder will have impeccable interpersonal and presentation skills and be comfortable representing the Charity and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Charity to achieve its strategic goals by generating the fundraising income required to deliver core activity and development works
• Work with the Major Gifts Team to build, manage and implement the funding pipeline, conducting research, writing briefing notes / cultivation plans, maintaining CRM records and producing regular progress reports

• Deputise for the Head of Major Gifts as required
• Support the Head of Major Gifts and the Head of Impact & Learning to plan and deliver project impact reports for funders
• Manage the Fundraising Officer, supporting them to manage their own portfolio of T&Fs, reviewing and providing constructive feedback on funding applications and ensuring that they provide efficient administrative support to the Major Gifts Team

Person Specification:

Experience and Knowledge

• Experienced T&F fundraiser with a good working knowledge of the sector
• Demonstrable success of securing five and six figure grants
• Expert bid writer
• Experience of managing senior stakeholders
• Basic understanding of logic / theory of change models and social impact measures
• Experience of using a CRM system
• Knowledge of charity financial governance and gift management processes
• Experience of business planning and managing a budget
• Some experience of people management is desirable

We are looking for an experienced, driven and brilliant marketer who will help create, execute and evaluate multi-channel marketing and campaign strategies and continuously assess impact and ROI.  You will be a superb campaigns manager that has a passion for excellence and delivering high quality outputs that show impact. From planning with Head of Marketing and Communications to developing and delivering alongside internal teams and external partners, you will thrive on achieving impressive results. There is a very strong focus on all aspects of digital campaigning for this role and you will be fully knowledgeable about Google ads, Google analytics, SEO, PFA, PPC, SEM, CRM, mobile, social media, website design and content creation, podcasts, blogs, vlogs and email creation. You will be at a significant advantage if you have design and WordPress experience. You will be a part of a small but dynamic and friendly marketing and fundraising team and involved in many aspects of our life-saving work including sales plans for our training courses, raising our profile, protecting our brand and reputation and supporting our fundraising activities. You will have no paid reports to you, but recruiting suitable volunteers is something we would encourage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Drive engagement, increase visibility, improve our course sales and fundraising targets

· Manage our national and localised digital awareness campaigns from development stage to presenting results and assessment of impact

· Manage and optimise our website and landing pages for improved user experience and conversion rates

· Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital marketing

· Help develop social media engagement strategies with our social media officer

· Coordinate email marketing campaigns, including audience segmentation, content creation, and performance analysis

· Conduct audience and market research to identify new opportunities and target audiences

· Collect, manage, process and analyse data, making recommendations to inform future strategy

· Engage different audiences on different channels such as writing press releases, website pages, podcasts, blogs, socials, and press releases

· Manage and write award entries

· Design marketing collateral such as posters, leaflets, web pages

· Work closely with our Senior Fundraising Manager on increasing fundraisers, fundraising income and volunteers

· Do any duties to support the Head of Marketing and Communications and Fundraising.

To be successful in this role, you must be responsive, flexible, have pride in your attention to detail, be extremely organised, meet deadlines and be driven to exceeding your targets.  You will need to be self-motivated and work comfortably on your own as a remote worker but enjoy working in a team (online). You will enjoy working mostly operationally as well as having a strategic approach to your work.

For this role, you will need:

• Evidence of leading and implementation of successful digital campaigns
• Project management of campaigns and communicating tasks to project teams effectively and efficiently
• Proven track record of multi-media marketing
• Experience of copy writing and proofreading for different audiences on multi-channels
• To be an excellent verbal and written communicator
• To be a confident negotiator and presenter
• A genuine passion for the Grassroots Suicide Prevention’s mission and values
• To have a positive “can-do” attitude and enjoy adapting to different tasks and challenges, sometimes daily

A new role as Senior Marketing Manager within the community and events team at an innovative, well-known research and support Charity. Joining for an initial 12 month FTC, the role will be pivotal to the success of the fundraising team’s growth, you will be the expert voice of marketing across community and events.

This role supports a vibrant team spread across four offices and will work with other marketers in the organisation as well as in house teams such as digital and brand. With a team of two including a manager and an officer, this role will support the teams’ delivery of the (well-known) existing marketing portfolio, including community fundraising activity and a range of third-party events.

You:

An experienced marketeer, you’ll be an expert in promoting fundraising products with a keen eye for detail and creative flair. Your knowledge of dynamic and ambitious six-figure marketing campaigns will enable you to lead the team to success across a variety of projects. You’ll understand the need to approach campaigns on a national and regional level to ensure they speak and engage relevant audiences.

You’ll have experience of working with external digital and OOH marketing agencies to deliver effective and engaging campaigns, and you’ll feel confident in ensuring the charity’s best interests are always at the heart of their work. You’ll also be confident in generating owned and earnt media to support holistic campaign activity.

· 3 days WFH, 2 days in the office

· Based in either London, Cardiff, Sheffield or Glasgow

· Salary £43,000 -£50,000, plus an attractive benefits package

· 12 month FTC, 35 hour week.
