The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Key Responsibilities

Website

• Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
• Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Oversight of Spear Programme Spear

Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Line management and training

• Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
• Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
• Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.

Site management

• Liaise with relevant staff locally on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

Role Summary

International income generation

• Evidence of successful proposal writing, from start to finish, as well as experience with writing concise reports.

Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Job Overview:

As a Fundraising Manager at ROLDA, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our fundraising strategy. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing funding from Trusts and Foundations, engaging with Individual Giving programmes, cultivating relationships with Major Donors, and promoting legacy giving.

Experience required to be considered for this role:

Fundraising Experience:

Proven experience in fundraising is a key requirement. This should include a track record of successful fundraising campaigns, securing grants, and managing donor relationships.

Experience in multiple fundraising channels, including:

Trusts and Foundations: Demonstrated success in writing and securing grants from foundations.

Individual Giving: Experience in developing and implementing strategies for acquiring and retaining individual donors.

Major Donors: Track record of cultivating relationships with major donors and securing significant gifts.

Legacies: Knowledge and experience in promoting legacy giving programmes.

Strategic Planning:

Strong strategic thinking and planning skills are essential. Fundraising Manager should be able to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans aligned with organisational goals.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes the ability to craft compelling grant proposals, write persuasive fundraising materials, and communicate effectively with donors and stakeholders.

Relationship Building:

Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, both individual and institutional. This involves effective communication, cultivation, and stewardship.

Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement a Fundraising Strategy:

Work closely with the CEO & the existing team to develop the current fundraising strategy aligned with organisational goals.

Individual Giving:

Plan, execute, and evaluate Individual Giving campaigns to increase donor acquisition, retention, and engagement.

Implement effective direct marketing strategies, online campaigns, and other initiatives to drive regular giving.

Major Donors:

Cultivate and steward relationships with Major Donors, ensuring personalised engagement and a high level of donor satisfaction.

Develop strategies to identify and secure major gifts from individuals

Legacy Giving:

Promote legacy giving programmes and work on initiatives to encourage donors to include ROLDA in their wills.

Collaborate with legal and financial advisors to facilitate the legacy giving process.

Trusts Management:

Identify, cultivate, and secure funding from Trusts and Foundations, ensuring strong relationships are built and maintained.

Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to Trusts and Foundations.

Ensure effective grant management, reporting, and compliance with funders' requirements.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure fundraising messages are consistent and effectively conveyed.

Provide regular updates to the leadership team and Board on fundraising progress and achievements.

About the role

The Bookkeeper manages essential financial duties, such as recording financial transactions and allocating income and expenditure to relevant funds, projects and cost centres; processing VAT returns; managing auto-enrolment, etc. The role is central to the business and general administration of the organisation. 

The Bookkeeper works with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department in a small but busy head office in Harrow, and has regular contact with the Senior Management Team, and colleagues in all teams across the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for completing all aspects of the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation in an accurate and timely manner.

The organisation uses Sage Accounts 50 (Nominal, Sales/Purchase Ledgers, Stock and Charities modules) and Microsoft Office software packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure the organisation’s finance recording and payment processes are achieved in an accurately and timely manner

• Process sales/purchase invoices, payments/receipts and banking

• Recording and monitoring of petty cash

• Reconcile bank/petty cash/credit card/Paypal/stock/fixed assets accounts on a monthly basis

• Manage Debtor and Creditor accounts and ensure that outstanding accounts are settled in a timely manner

• Manage pension scheme auto-enrolment

• Investigate and answer routine queries

• Ensure full and accurate financial records are maintained, and are filed efficiently and effectively at all times

• Ensure that accounting software is properly maintained and kept up to date

• Identify errors and discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner

Overview of Role:

As Human Resources Advisor you will be joining a small, friendly and supportive HR team providing advice and support to managers and staff across the full range of employee life-cycle activities. This is a maternity cover post, so is offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months. As this is a short-term contract, we are looking for someone with HR experience at this level who can also embody our culture as a charity with a Christian ethos.

You will provide HR advice and support, to our Centres of Mission (CoM) (which are local projects run in partnership with Diocese to share the Good News of Jesus); our central services team in Sheffield known as Co.Lab; and our Sheffield based conference centre and accommodation.

The HR Advisor will play a key role in developing and strengthening the relationship between the staff, line managers and HR and ensure we deliver an effective HR service which is aligned with the service to the wider organisation. The post holder will work closely with managers in making sure the Christian ethos and values of Church Army are part of their culture and practice as line managers.

This role suits someone who is a HR generalist with strong knowledge of key HR practices including recruitment and retention, employee relations and development and training. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in HR and hold a related qualification such as CIPD. Essential Requirements:

• Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Strong accounting experience, including charity statutory accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (ideally Xero), with strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrable experience in producing management accounts, interpreting financial data for both expert and non-expert audiences.
• Experience of managing external audits and collaborating with auditors.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a virtual team, with excellent self-direction and initiative.
