Our client is recruiting a Senior Gardener. The garden, which is open to the public, covers just under an acre and is designed to tell the story of medicine through plants. It is run in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. The garden team of three gardeners and several volunteers (including eleven physicians) produces a range of publications such as books and trail leaflets and offers educational tours.
The garden team also collaborate with and enhance the work of other departments such as the Museum and Meetings and Events.
Purpose and scope
Key responsibilities
- The main purpose of this role is to assist in the advancement of their medicinal garden as a place of scientific and historical importance. You will work under the supervision of the head gardener and the deputy to ensure that the college gardens and grounds are maintained to the highest standard.
- You will be closely involved in pest and disease management of the garden which is carried out using biological controls and sustainable methods.
- You will be required to manage the garden tour booking system and the garden Instagram account. You will understand and contribute to maintaining the garden database as directed by the plant records officer.
- You will be required to supervise volunteers and to take sole responsibility for the garden on occasion.
About you
You will have
- A minimum of 2 years full-time professional horticultural experience, preferably in a botanic or historic garden setting along with a horticultural qualification to at least level 2 RHS or equivalent.
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
- Comprehensive plant knowledge and an interest in the uses of plants along with a familiarity with most gardening practices.
- Familiarity with pest and disease management.

- Reliable, punctual and energetic.
- Confident to work alone but also willing to work alongside other members of a small and supportive team and to supervise volunteers.
- Friendly and happy to engage with visitors.

ABOUT THE DEPUTY MANAGER ROLE
This is an exciting new opportunity as we expand our services in the Luton area with a new service, we are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to play a vital role in leading and supporting the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services to residents and participants. Working alongside the Service Manager, you will help shape a psychologically informed environment that promotes recovery, rehabilitation, and reablement. This is a leadership role where you will empower and develop frontline staff, ensuring services meet and exceed expectations.
This new service will provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for women facing sexual exploitation and substance dependency – a place they can truly call home. The service will engage with women who are sexually exploited and are facing homelessness due to multiple forms of exclusion, such as historical or ongoing abuse, involvement in the criminal justice system, mental health challenges, drug and/or alcohol dependency and who are engaging in survival sex or sex work, enduring high levels of violence and coercion. These are women who often find themselves repeatedly going through the accommodation pathway and have exhausted all other available options.
Shift/Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Shift patterns to be confirmed but may include Monday to Sunday working including evenings and bank holidays. You will also take part in our out of hours on call duty for managers.
Salary: £27,200
What are we looking for from a Deputy Service Manager?

Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- A postgraduate degree in environmental studies, climate change, or water governance.
- 5+ years’ experience in international assistance, policy analysis, and advocacy.
- Proven ability to engage with civil society, government agencies, and donors.
- Strong expertise in WASH, climate finance, and governance.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with experience in policy brief development.
- Willingness and ability to travel in Canada and internationally, sometimes in difficult environments (when travel is permitted).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to write high quality briefing notes, policy briefs, and influencing plans in English.
Desirable:
- Experience working in low- and middle-income countries.

Hours of Work:

Remuneration:
The salary for this role will be £30,000 per annum.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in two of our schools in Darwen, Lancashire, delivering two of our programmes – Ignite (Key Stage 4 only) and our new Accelerate programme.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors and coaches, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of our programmes is optimised.
Role responsibilities
- Work directly with students in a professional and safe manner.
- Engage with school staff, your Programme Manager, and students in school to ensure that you have fully enrolled cohorts across both programmes.

About the role:
This role is hybrid working between Bridewell Police Station and home (and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work), with travel around the locality to meet with service users. As a Senior IDVA you will:

- Take a lead in setting an example of good working practices and offer mentoring to colleagues. Be the initial contact for colleagues to provide advice and guidance on their casework.
- Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
- Provide effective line management of staff to ensure performance targets and agreed outcomes are met by the service. Monitor and oversee quality of service provision provided by the team, and identify learning and development opportunities. Support performance auditing, interpret data for commissioners and report on this.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
You will need:
- A proven track record of being an effective IDVA.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
- An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised an methodical approach to work.
- The ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and undertake performance monitoring.
As this role involves regular travel across Bristol a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.

Charity People is thrilled to be working with the leading global wildlife and conservation organisation in their search for a new Philanthropy Campaigns Manager. This charity is at the forefront of bringing the world back to life; with nature in freefall, they are urgently tackling the underlying causes that are driving the decline, and finding solutions so future generations have a world with thriving habitats and wildlife. Working through their unparallelled global network, the organisation is committed to stopping deforestation by 2027. The Philanthropy Campaigns Manager will support a new approach, working across high income streams to develop a shared case for support. You will design and manage an 18-month engagement plan to maximise high-level engagement opportunities and deliver excellent stewardship to unlock multi-million investment from global funders
Contract: Full time 18 month contract
Salary: £43,851 per annum
Location: Hybrid role with a minimum of one day per week on site at the organisation's Head Office

This role will support a new approach to working across high value income streams to develop a shared case for support which will include setting up engagement plans and activities, coordinating internally with colleagues from across the global network including programme teams. You will support the team to shift focus towards principle giving level (gifts of upwards of £250k) and to identify transformational opportunities that accelerate environmental solutions.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the development, planning and co-ordination of a high-value fundraising campaign leveraging major support from corporate partnerships, private-sector partners and a philanthropic audience.
* To create a compelling and comprehensive case for support that outlines a narrative of halting deforestation through a theory of change and budgeted high impact programmes and activities
* To build and coordinate a high value pipeline across philanthropy, corporate partnerships and public sector funding and to ensure that the needs of these different audiences are met in the context of the case for support and engagement activities
* To map and engage a network of influential support across philanthropic, policy and corporate audiences to support the organisation's ambitions at COP 30
* To develop strategies to identify and cultivate new funders, creating a suite of engagement assets to articulate and inspire a high value audience; from events to infographics
* To collaborate globally with key offices, as well as science and policy experts to drive a coordinated approach that ensures that halting deforestation secures global commitment at COP 30
* To work collaboratively and with multiple stakeholders to strengthen the philanthropic culture across the organisation
This role will suit someone who is has a background EITHER in a significantly high value gift fundraising role or of managing a high value fundraising campaign.
Alongside that, we'd love to hear from individuals with the following expertise and experience:
* A solid understanding of what makes a compelling and comprehensive vision at the scale required to inspire and build effective relationships with philanthropic, corporate and government funders giving £250,000 and upwards
* Experience of developing complex, multi-national, multi-stakeholder cases for support and of turning complexity into compelling clarity
* Demonstrated ability to galvanise, lead, and motivate internal and external stakeholders through matrix-working and with multiple reporting lines
* Experience of working with senior volunteers and people of influence
* Experience of designing cultivation activities including events and collateral that meet the needs and interest of a high value audience
* Experience of strategy development and project management required to deliver it
* Experience of working collaboratively as part of an integrated team and strategy
* Understanding of contemporary fundraising techniques including leveraged and matched funding opportunities, and a genuine desire to innovate
* Articulate with persuasive and engaging verbal communication skills
* Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to unlock and edit winning proposals
* Creative flair in fundraising communications with the ability to develop original ideas
