What is a Nutley Edge Activity Break?

Nutley Edge Activity Breaks are Outward’s supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities and autism. They are five days and four nights long and take place at our beautiful holiday site near Uckfield in East Sussex. Every break is themed and guests take part in a range of activities such as archery, art, music, yoga, and day trips to local towns, cities, and historical sites. Our breaks give guests the opportunity to get away for a holiday, meet new people, and explore the best of East Sussex.

What is the role of the Manager? 

As manager, with the support of the deputy(s), you will organise varied and fun breaks for our guests. This includes carrying out assessments for new guests, supporting the team to deliver respite care, coaching the staff team, and embedding high standards in the service. We run 20 breaks a year and wish to grow this number, around about 10 of which are led by the Activity Team Manager on site in East Sussex. During activity breaks food and your own room is provided and an additional sleep in payment for each night supporting a break is paid.  

We are a London based charity and welcome applicants for this role on the understanding they are able to support at least 10 breaks throughout a year (providing day and overnight support for 5 days/ 4 nights at a time in East Sussex), are able to travel to our North East London offices to attend meetings and training sessions, and travel to assessments and marketing events as required. 

In the role, you will: 

• Manage all aspects of the activity breaks

What qualities and experience should the ideal candidate have?

We are looking for somebody who has:

• Experience managing the support provided for people with a learning disability, autism, and complex needs (including behaviours of distress)

• Excellent communication skills and IT skills

• Experience of staff management and the ability to lead by example to develop a strong team

• Creativity and flexibility, with experience of dealing with the unexpected

• Experience carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans

• A commitment to providing high quality and personalised active support 

• A commitment to upholding the rights of people we support to be involved at all levels of decision making. 

• A passion for engaging, enabling, and empowering people with autism or a learning disability to lead the lives they want

• Knowledge of managing a budget

• A driving licence and willingness to drive a minibus is desirable

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Programmes Manager to lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of our international programs. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with extensive programme management experience and a deep commitment to our mission.

The Senior Programmes Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are effectively designed and delivered, meet the needs of the communities and animals we serve, and align with our organizational strategy and donor expectations.

Make a Change 

Make a Change is a community-wide, early response approach to people using abusive behaviours (or who are concerned that they might be) towards a current or ex-partner. The model has been developed by Respect in partnership with Women’s Aid Federation England, drawing inspiration from their Change that Lasts approach. It includes three strands: expert support programme for perpetrators with parallel support for survivors, workforce development and community outreach.

Improving the safety, freedom and wellbeing of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse is a key outcome for our work with perpetrators.  The Make a Change model is a multi-partner project offering local areas a framework for delivering perpetrator work. Where feasible, we aim to establish partnerships with local survivor domestic abuse service to deliver parallel support for survivors (referred to as Integrated Support Service) as part the expert support strand.

Purpose of the role: 

The Senior Communications and Policy Officer will work with the Make a Change team at Respect to advance the development of communication and policy activities for the Make a Change model in project sites and nationally to encourage uptake in new areas. They will also work with Respect’s Communications and Influence leads to ensure alignment with the organisation's broader messaging and advocacy efforts, maximising the impact of Make a Change initiatives. The postholder will lead on developing and implementing communication strategies and plans in partnership with our delivery partners across the sites.

The award-winning NSPCC Communications directorate is known for its talent, expertise and creativity in inspiring and challenging people to act on child abuse. We work collaboratively, both organisationally and across integrated communications disciplines, to deliver shared outcomes and measurable results through all available communications channels. 

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Marketing and Planning team, which has a key role in driving awareness and understanding of our support for children, parents and professionals. We work closely with teams across the NSPCC to raise awareness of our vital services, behaviour change campaigns and income generation which helps us continue to fight for every childhood.

The Strategic Marketing Manager will focus on marketing to adults, in particular parents. They will lead a team of 3 to deliver our flagship behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, working with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to expand the reach of our campaigns. They will lead on raising awareness of the NSPCC Helpline, that anyone can contact if they are worried about child and support wider priority campaigns that may include Brand and Online Safety. In addition, they will work closely with Income Generation, Services and Strategy and Knowledge on key projects and campaigns to ensure we are working together to maximise income and impact. 

The post-holder will have significant experience in leading insights-driven marketing strategies and campaigns that make an impact, from development through to delivery, overseeing a small team. They’ll be a great communicator, able to build effective working relationships and influence a range of stakeholders. Leading a dynamic team, you’ll focus on operational excellence, refining processes, and ensuring all programmes align with Drinkaware’s strategic goals and priorities.  You will be a natural collaborator, building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that the public can access high quality impactful support.

As an experienced leader, you will use your experience and skill to drive improvements by partnering with teams across Drinkaware. You will do this by balancing engagement with progress, while ensuring that our work is informed by lived experience and the latest evidence.

You must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in the health sector and have a passion for reducing alcohol harm in the UK.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Be collectively accountable as part of the Senior Management Team for leading and managing Drinkaware ensuring high performance in the delivery of plans and targets and maximum cross-organisational collaboration, deputising for the Director of Operations & Programmes

· Be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of operations & programmes, overseeing and directing interconnected projects ensuring consistency in programme and project work.

· For 2025/26 this will focus on the roll out of our Information, Advice & Guidance programmes and extended brief intervention programmes to the public via digital tools to a mass audience and to underserved groups.

· The post holder will be required to manage a small dedicated team ensuring that robust project plans, clear goals, timelines and resources are established and managed as well dependencies within and between projects.

· Act as a Safeguarding Officer ensuring safeguarding is embedded within all programme delivery.

· Proactively address challenges and seeks solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity. Holding themselves and their team accountable for delivering results aligned with the organisation's objectives.

· The post holder will work closely with the Head of Impact ensuring partnership projects deliver impact, clear metrics and reports which demonstrate the project(s) value proposition to our funder base, stakeholders in government and the public.

· Work closely with the Marketing and Comms team to ensure highly effective marketing and communications strategies are progressed for individual projects and the wider programme of activity, and that brand and reputational risk is minimised.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Events and Community Fundraiser (Known internally as Public Fundraiser) to join our team at Scope on a temporary basis, until the end of October 2025. The role

The role is heavily focused on challenge events, with a combination of responsibilities across product management and event delivery.

• Be responsible for delivering the income target and best possible supporter experience to our Team Scope participants in the 2025 Great North Run event. You will also be involved in marketing activity to fill remaining event places.

Strategy and planning

• Deliver the existing Community and Events strategy and maximise opportunities for income growth

• Deliver excellent supporter care to ensure supporters are motivated to achieve (and exceed) their fundraising targets, feel valued and build engagement with us 

• Key point of contact for high level event participants and community fundraisers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails – providing timely and personalised support

• Support the Events and Community Officer with enquiries, applications and registrations for challenge events, ensuring high levels of conversion, and capturing relevant supporter data 

• Support the Head of Community and Engagement, or other teams within Fight for Sight with the successful delivery of key special events, including fundraising gala dinners or receptions, virtual events and mini conferences, and third party or established supporter events.

• When required, support the Events and Community Officer in managing guest lists, enquiries, and ticket sales for special/major donor events and receptions, delivering a seamless guest experience and timely follow-ups supporter care and relationship management

Marketing 

• Oversee all paid Facebook advertising activity for events, updating web listings, and utilising our networks

• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to raise awareness/increase recruitment across all activities, highlighting case studies and media stories 

• Develop and deliver effective and engaging content, and materials for supporters to increase recruitment, retention, and average fundraising amounts

About you

You'll be proactive, highly motivated and have experience in the development and delivery of public health and inclusion initiatives, campaigns and projects. An excellent communicator in building relationships at a local level with external organisations and groups including with those from under-represented communities.

You'll be confident in understanding and explaining equity, diversity and inclusion issues in our public health work clearly and will give presentations as required to community groups and organisations.

You'll also be experienced in monitoring and evaluation of public health activity, including gathering data, producing reports and analysing other statistical information as required.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is primarily based in our London office. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

As a Senior Events Manager, you'll lead the growth and delivery of British Heart Foundation's (BHF) iconic London to Brighton Bike Ride.

By collaborating with stakeholders, you'll optimize reach, quality, and ROI to support life-saving research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee planning and execution of the London to Brighton Bike Ride, collaborating with partners for success.
• Identify and leverage data-driven opportunities while implementing growth strategies.
• Manage budgets, achieve income targets, and provide financial reports and forecasts, utilizing insights to deliver objectives, KPIs, and contingency plans.
• Develop and deliver an outstanding supporter experience and maximise income via strategically developed supporter journeys.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you'll have significant experience in growing major events and products, with a proven track record in managing and delivering mass participation events, both digital and physical, preferably within a fundraising capacity. You should have a comprehensive understanding of marketing and a background in working within leadership and/or management teams.

You will have extensive knowledge of diverse fundraising activities, event methods, and principles, coupled with the ability to successfully manage and develop a varied product portfolio. You have experience leveraging customer, market, and financial data to drive innovation and sustained growth, as well as experience managing significant budgets.

A highly numerate strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, you'll have a solid background in commercial project management, delivering on objectives while remaining agile and responsive to internal and external influences.

With excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, you'll be able to collaborate effectively with key internal stakeholders in a complex organisation and external agencies. As a motivational leader and a member of the Events Senior Management Team, you will coach, inspire, and foster the development of your team. 

Working arrangements 

This is a fixed term contract until Aug 2026 covering family leave.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office (NW1 7AW) .  There will be a requirement for flexible out of hours working to support evening and weekend activity. You will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.  The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do.
