About the role:
This role sits within our busy legal team and will be the legal business partner for the Motor Neuron Disease and Global Health Translational Challenges (“TCs”) within LifeArc providing specialist legal support on a wide range of grant funded projects and strategic collaborations. The role will support on all legal aspects of the structuring and execution of projects and will advise on a range of commercial, charity law, intellectual property and life science and medical research-related legal matters.
You will be a professional advisor and counsel to senior leadership and operational staff, especially the Head and senior members of the Partnerships Team (including BD Project Leads) and the TC Leaders, and will work in cross-functional teams to find solutions for delivering strategic projects.
You will work closely with the contract managers in the Legal team to coordinate and manage the contractual needs of the organisation, including delegation and supervision and generally being a collegiate member of the Legal team providing advice, training and supervision to both colleagues in the team and across the organisation.
About you:
You will be responsible for the following:
- Being a strategic legal business partner to the Motor Neuron Diseases (“MND”) and Global Health (“GH”) Translational Challenges, proactively seeking out information to anticipate and deliver all relevant legal support.
- Developing strategies for delivering that support, including triage and delegation within the Legal team.
- Setting up new collaborations, grant funding initiatives, licences and other contractual arrangements by advising on the structure of these projects and by drafting and negotiating agreements.
- Advising and supporting the Partnerships team on existing relationships to manage LifeArc’s existing funding projects and collaboration and LifeArc’s and others’ technologies, platforms and IP.
- Leading and supporting Legal team initiatives, including training to the business and embedding new IT assets.
- Obtaining and pragmatically applying advice from external counsel, as appropriate.
- Managing competing priorities whilst balancing the needs of the team and the organisation.
- Providing occasional support to other parts of the organisation, including the Science and Procurement teams.
- Developing and applying an understanding of relevant aspects of charity law and Data Protection law to advise the business and mitigate related risks.
- Advising on developments in legislation and legal practice as they impact commercial, IP and other activities in LifeArc; as appropriate, cascade that information into the organisation.
Skills and Education:
- Significant post qualification experience gained in Intellectual Property and commercial law.
- A solicitor or barrister qualified to practice law in England and Wales.
- Experience advising on life sciences and/or medical research matters also advantageous.
- Highly proficient at drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Experience of charity law and/or working with charity or not-for-profit clients highly advantageous.

Summary

Main Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Lead on strategic partnerships development overall for Diabetes UK, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver against partnership goals and deliver sustained income growth year on year
- Account manage a small number of key strategic partnerships for Diabetes UK
- Work with the team to ensure that partnership best practice is upheld, ensuring that governance frameworks maximise value from strategic partnerships and help with risk management and mitigation
- Work closely with our leadership team to maximise value from partnerships and develop existing and new senior volunteer relationships to help with partnership development
- Be externally focused, networking on a regular basis with current and potential funders, maintaining excellent knowledge of key business sectors

Ideal Candidate
To be an excellent Senior Corporate Partnerships Account Manager you will need:
- Previous experience in a corporate account management role developing and retaining significant corporate and commercial partnerships through effective and confident relationship building within large and complex organisations.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the principles of charity/corporate partnerships and adept at problem solving and identifying creative solutions
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder with a positive attitude, highly organised and capable of managing a diverse workload

About the role:
In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to a specialised Cases Unit, playing a key part in its day-to-day functions. Your responsibilities will include managing and organising case documents, coordinating meetings, facilitating communication with legal teams, and assisting in casework activities. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will ensure the efficient operation of the unit, contributing to the overall success of its work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the Unit's document management system to ensure efficient tracking, retrieval, and organisation of casework materials.
- Manage and update key logs, including Excel spreadsheets, to support ongoing Unit activities.
- Prepare and organise evidence bundles using the case management system, including redacting sensitive information for review by the Independent Decision-Making Body.
- Communicate with specific Inquiry staff and the Solicitor to the Inquiry on administrative and case-related matters as needed.
- Keep detailed records of all communications related to the Inquiry and ensure the Unit is regularly updated.
- Attend meetings with key stakeholders like the Legal Services Board and Solicitors Regulatory Authority, taking and distributing accurate notes.

- Schedule and organise meetings for the Unit, including internal meetings and external sessions with stakeholders.
- Take and distribute minutes from meetings with legal advisors, barristers, and other external contacts.
- Provide general administrative support, including managing casework tasks, preparing hearing bundles, and liaising with counsel and witnesses, often under strict deadlines.
- Handle inquiries via the central mailbox, draft correspondence, and manage routine telephone inquiries.
- Process invoices and purchase orders and maintain financial records using the organisation's finance system.
- Collaborate closely with other administrative teams, particularly those supporting the Independent Decision-Making Body.

About the role
The Senior Volunteer officer will work to involve the local community in enhancing and taking care of the park and will support all areas of the Trust’s work, including visitor experience, gardening and supporting the delivery of the Trust’s growing public programme of seasonal, community-focused activities and events. You will work as part of the project team that includes a new Senior Community Engagement Officer. It's an exciting time to join World Cancer Research Fund International's policy team. In 2024, the organisation started undertaking proactive UK policy and public affairs to join our well-established international policy work.

World Cancer Research Fund International leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe, the Americas and Asia and is responsible for cancer prevention science, policy, strategic and operational direction to the network charities.
We are looking for a candidate with a passion for delivering improvements to public health and cancer prevention through policy and public affairs, who has experience advising colleagues on political matter areas and the ability to maintain up to date knowledge on political issues. Experience of sourcing, scanning for, reviewing, assessing and analysing policy documents or legislation is also key.
You will have significant professional experience in a UK policy and public affairs environment such as a charity or working in parliament - preferably in health - and a Bachelor degree (or Masters degree desirable) in public policy, public or global health, or health policy (e.g. policies on cancer, non-communicable diseases, food, obesity, physical activity) or other relevant subjects, or a Bachelor of Law.

Key Responsibilities
To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning
With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:
1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.
2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.
3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.
4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.
5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.
6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.
Dissemination and Communications
1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.
2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.
3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.
4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.
5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.
6. Supporting the professional publication and printing of CBM UK outputs, for dissemination at advocacy engagements and public events.

1. Work with other CBM UK teams to maximise cross fertilisation opportunities and integrated working.

The Role

Science is the bedrock of the work of the RSPB and this role is pivotal in helping raise awareness and understanding of how it informs and guides our conservation work. The Senior Science Communications Executive will lead the promotion, development, and coordination of the RSPB’s scientific communication. This key role informs, influences, and inspires key internal and external audiences in alignment with the RSPB's mission.

What's the role about?
