The Head of Public Affairs & Stakeholder Relations is a strategic and dynamic leadership position within the Policy and External Affairs directorate. You will lead and manage our influencing and engagement work with key policy, government, political and wider sector stakeholders. Your role will be essential in fostering and maintaining our corporate narrative and in building relationships that support our organizational objectives.
This role requires a deep understanding of Youth Futures’ policy work, our strategic corporate objectives together with the outside policy, political and sector landscape. About you:
You’ll have extensive experience in managing social media accounts for businesses or non-profits, including community management, content creation, and campaign execution. You are a creative thinker with the ability to deliver social media strategies that align with organisational goals and inspire your audience to take action.
You will be confident using social media analytics tools such as Sprout Social to analyse trends, performance, and user engagement, and you will be proficient in content creation tools like Canva to develop engaging social media assets. You’ll be driven by data and insights, and motivated to continuously improve Blue Cross’s online presence.
As a collaborative leader, you will enjoy working with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver exceptional results. You will have a passion for animal welfare and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of pets and people.

The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled, experienced, and driven Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company’s growth and development. You will review our financial procedures and processes and where appropriate recommend and implement change and improvements. You will lead our two-person finance team, part of core services, which provides HR, IT, facilities, and marketing support for the company.
What you will be doing
- Delivery of accurate and timely financial information for the company including preparation of monthly reports as required.
- Support the CEO and Executive on strategic development through the provision of performance insights on financial and delivery metrics and management accounts, liaising with external accountants, as appropriate.
- Provide reports to the Directors, Executive and other senior staff analysing company performance including project financial performance.
- Prepare for and oversee the Company’s annual independent financial accounts audit.
- Oversee insurance policies liaising with brokers and other third parties, as necessary.
- Monthly financial reconciliation of QuickBooks and CMap and production of reports.
- Working with and supporting HR as appropriate on payroll, pensions, holidays, and time records.
- Support the company to continually improve our IMS systems and B Corp accreditation through the provision of efficient financial project management systems and reporting.

meetings. Ensure that time is prioritised effectively and appropriately with reasonable timings and rest periods.

• Ensure that papers and briefings are given to the CEO for meetings and that any instructions/directions are obtained prior to the meeting.

minuting meetings and circulating papers.
• Support the Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance with core policy documents, liaising with the leadership team to
review dates and ensure updated policies are scheduled for approval at Group Board and sub-committee meetings.
• Manage production and circulation of Board papers. Liaise with the leadership team to ensure reports are received to
deadlines, providing editorial inputs to ensure reports are of the highest quality before review by the Chief Executive.
• Proof-read and distribute Board minutes, ensuring timely follow up on any actions.
• Assist the Group Director of People and Culture in the recruitment and rotation processes for Group Board members.

The Vacancy
We are looking for a Senior Advocate who will have day to day responsibility for the running and promotion of the advocacy service in Dorset.
You will manage a pool of advocates which involves recruitment, supporting them through induction and by conducting supervision and best practice meetings, ensuring the provisions of the service we offer to children and young people is to a high standard.
You will be responsible in managing the advocacy referrals and allocating these to the most appropriate advocate to meet the needs of the child or young person, whilst also carrying a small caseload of advocacy referrals yourself where you will provide independent and confidential advocacy to children and young people to empower them to express their wishes and feelings in decision that affect their lives to ensure that their voices are heard.
You will help drive the performance of the service by monitoring the referrals, activity and budgets, and using bespoke system, to prepare statistical and qualitative data reports for monitoring meetings to evidence service target achievements. This will also enable you to identify recurring themes and concerns which can be escalated.
This role also provides the opportunity to work in co-operation with other NYAS services and departments and well as acting the link between NYAS and the local authority.
Although the role is home based, there will be some travel around the Dorset area so we are looking for our successful candidate to live within the Dorset area or within a close surrounding area.
