As Head of Fundraising & Engagement, you will play a key role in developing a cohesive fundraising, communications, and engagement strategy to secure sustainable income and elevate our profile. This role will see you working closely with the Chief Executive and the Fundraising Committee to lead initiatives with trusts and foundations, the National Lottery, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate partners.
You’ll oversee a dynamic team of four:
- Philanthropy and Partnerships Lead: Managing a portfolio of trusts and assisting with corporate and high-net-worth fundraising.
- Marketing & Communications Lead: Responsible for boosting our profile across various media.
- Supporter Engagement Lead: Driving individual and community group fundraising.
- Community Engagement Lead: Raising awareness of cancer prevention, early detection, and our support services in the community.

Sitting in our high performing Professional Practice & Quality Improvement team as the Professional Networks Manager you will have the opportunity to make your mark by leading and coordinating the work of the Professional Networks team, develop strategies for informing and supporting the decision to create specific networks and for enhancing networks and services. In this role you will have a real opportunity to make a positive difference to our doctors working in imaging and cancer care.
What you will do:
- Work with leading doctors across Clinical Radiology and Clinical Oncology in the planning, development and delivery of professional networks and communities of practice.
- Design and implement an approach to systematically evaluating the success of the networks that are built and maintained.
- Identify key areas of development or improvement, systematically evaluating and reporting on project and programme outcomes.
- Lead, motivate and coordinate the teams’ activities
- Liaise with teams across the College ensuring they understand and have opportunities to promote their work through college networks.
What you will need:
- Track record of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to shape and support networks or communities of practice.
- Effective interpersonal skills - skilled manager of people and able to build and sustain effective working relationships with various people
- Significant experience of leading and managing a team.
- Experience of budget setting
- Strong communication skills
- Experience of working with high profile professionals and/or an understanding of the NHS, its structures and issues being faced in medicine and the healthcare workforce is advantageous.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders such as fundraising, clinical, finance and people teams to understand their IT needs and explore opportunities to enhance service delivery, fundraising, and donor engagement through technology. Your oversight of IT infrastructure will span servers, networks, cloud environments and data centers, ensuring reliable and secure operations while implementing best practices in security and data protection. You will also ensure that IT policies and procedures comply with industry standards, including GDPR, Charity Commission requirements, and data security guidelines.
To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with extensive experience in senior IT management, with a focus on infrastructure, security, and project management. You will possess sound knowledge of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR) and have experience with cloud platforms, network infrastructure, and database management. Exceptional communication skills will be essential, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

To succeed, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with extensive senior-level financial management experience, ideally within the nonprofit or charity sector. A strong working knowledge of Charity Commission and SORP reporting requirements is essential, along with experience in creating and implementing strategic finance initiatives. You should also have a background in managing audits and working within governance and risk management frameworks.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, dynamic and internationally minded individual to lead the finance function at World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRF Intl).
WCRF Intl is a not-for-profit organisation that leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities. These charities are based in Europe, the Americas and Asia, giving us a global voice to inform people about cancer prevention. The finance function, International Financial Services (IFS), is a central service, split across the London and Arlington, VA office and is the hub for supporting the charities in all areas of financial processing and management.
The Finance Director will be responsible for the oversight of all financial aspects of the network charities, including strategic financial planning, managing financial risks, financial reporting, and ensuring sustainable economic health.
