Job purpose
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the policy influencing work of Runnymede across a wide range of areas. Your responsibilities will involve researching and developing evidence-based policy positions, drafting briefings in priority areas and supporting with policy reports, while working closely with other members of the team to contribute to organisational initiatives. A key part of this role will involve supporting the Policy Manager and Head of Policy in managing the Runnymede’s Parliamentary engagement, which includes monitoring ongoing legislation, organising Parliamentary events and managing the Secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Race and Community.
This is a challenging position that requires strong organisational skills, an ability to navigate high-stakes environments, and a keen understanding of policy nuance within the shifting landscape of race and social justice. Merton Mencap is a local charity supporting young people and adults with a learning disabilty and / or autism and their family carers in the borough of Merton.

About the role:
In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to a specialised Cases Unit, playing a key part in its day-to-day functions. Your responsibilities will include managing and organising case documents, coordinating meetings, facilitating communication with legal teams, and assisting in casework activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the Unit's document management system to ensure efficient tracking, retrieval, and organisation of casework materials.

The role of Project Administrator is a permanent position. We will consider applications for the role on a full or part-time basis, with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Importing batches of client information into our client management system and ensuring uploads are working correctly. Addressing errors on our client database: merging data where it is held across multiple client records, deleting incorrect enquires and deleting duplicate client records.
- Make outbound calls to clients when required, such as booking home visits, and keeping client records up to date.
- Support HES team annual leave process, checking managers have approved internal team requests and updating allocations against projects on the staff planner.
- Manage and keep track of HES subscriptions to services or packages and coordinate payments and purchase orders with project managers. Make sure any details and logins are GDPR compliant.
- Responsibility for HES complaints handling procedure – providing guidance to managers handling complaints to ensure adherence to policy and tracking and recording responses.
- Support senior HES managers with recruitment work; liaising with appropriate teams within CSE in producing HES recruitment materials; onboarding new HES starters including providing thorough team specific information for line managers.
- Support senior HES managers with probations and interim review meetings; tracking progress towards probations. Tracking progress towards appraisal SMART objectives with support from the line manager.
- Be a GDPR champion for the HES team. Working with CSE’s GDPR officer and project managers to ensure procedures are compliant.
- Take a proactive approach to problem solving. Influence and contribute to improving HES systems and processes.
- Supervise and mentor the HES Project Administrator, support their learning and taking ownership for ensuring consistency of HES admin provision.

The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Registration and International Policy Manager to join our team, playing a critical role in shaping policies that impact the future of pharmacy professionals. You will provide advice in relation to registration, regulatory and legislative developments at a UK level and internationally, ensuring that the GPhC keeps track of, and responds to, external issues likely to affect our regulatory work.
This exciting role offers a wide range of opportunities for development including collaborating with both external stakeholders and cross functional teams whilst working on a variety of key projects that are a key part of our organisational strategy. The successful applicant will:
- Lead the development and management of regulatory policies and standards for pharmacy registration, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and organisational strategy.
- Handle complex registration casework, offering timely, clear advice on legal and policy issues related to the registration of international and UK-qualified professionals.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work collaboratively and understand the implications of implementing policy, including its impact on our operational work.
- Analyse and engage with regulatory developments both nationally and internationally, ensuring that GPhC’s policies remain responsive and forward-thinking.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across GPhC, using operational data and insights to inform policy decisions.
- Represent GPhC in discussions and consultations, advocating for our policies and strategy in professional settings.
