JOB PURPOSE
UK for UNHCR is looking for a Digital Communications Officer to join its team, raising vital support for displaced people around the world through creative campaigns such as the Refugee Dictionary, Cuppa Hope as well as fundraising appeals and partnerships.
Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, the Digital Communications Officer will have particular focus delivering day to day social media communications, including community management, publishing, content management and development. This role will also support wider digital communications activities, such as with the Senior Digital Communications Officer who manages the website.
This involves identifying opportunities to amplify appeals, campaigns and partnerships through social media to support UK for UNHCR’s fundraising and public advocacy objectives. Raising awareness of global refugee crises and UNHCR’s humanitarian operations forms a central part of this storytelling, as well as thematic campaigns and PR moments throughout the year.
One of your first focuses will be helping grow and verify UK for UNHCR’s TikTok account and LinkedIn presence, in addition to transitioning the charity’s channels to a new social media management tool. You will also work closely with the wider Communications team in supporting online and offline fundraising appeals.
The Digital Communications Officer will also work with the wider Communications team to identify and support storytellers (including refugees and supporters) to share their stories through the charity’s social media channels.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning, coordination and growth
- Deliver and schedule social media content on a daily and weekly basis, with flexibility to respond to news events and emergencies at short notice.
- Produce or commission multimedia content, including videos, graphics and photography to support charity activity on social media.
- Apply understanding of UNHCR’s humanitarian work to deliver strong storytelling and relevant content to the audience.
- Adapt content from UNHCR’s head office and field communications to localise for UK audiences.
- Develop social media editorial plans to amplify campaigns, milestones and events.
- Deliver planning and scheduling in a timely manner and be quick to respond to news and emergencies.
- Flag and navigate political sensitivities in line with UNHCR and charity policies.
- Deliver on a paid media strategy to amplify social media content more broadly, with a focus on Meta ads manager.
- Update and maintain community management guidelines on a regular basis.
- Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to monitor and moderate all of the charity’s social media channels.
- Other support for digital communications as required, such as helping cover website activities when colleagues are on leave.
Analytics, reporting and best practice
- Deliver regular reports outlining the performance of our content and channels, ensuring we’re on track to reach 100k followers by the end of 2026.
- Create and lead on a testing roadmap, leveraging new features across all social media channels.
- Keep up to date with social media content trends, news and tools to inform best practice and strategy.
- Provide subject matter expertise, proactive assistance and advice as required for planning and delivery of digital and supporter journey projects.
- Observe all legal and legislative requirements, comply with policies and procedures, and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and integrity.

Essential Experience
- Experience using native social media tools, like Meta business manager and YouTube Creator studio, to manage online communities.
- Experience of creating social media content that created an impression, raised awareness and prompted followers to take action.
- Experience of identifying and driving iterative improvements to digital channels through testing and analytics.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Proficient in using social media tools to evaluate performance and identify improvements.
- Proficient in creating content for online use, using software such as Adobe Suite, Canva or similar, to edit and produce basic assets.
- Researching images and writing compelling copy for different audience profiles.
- The ability to prioritise multiple tasks, working proactively and sometimes under pressure.
- Good attention to detail, strong ability to proofread and pick up inconsistencies.
- Understanding of data protection principles.

About the role:
The Advancement Operations team are currently looking for a new Database Assistant to provide essential database support for the team and particularly for the maintenance and updating of accurate Membership gifts and records.
The Database Assistant will support the Data Manager: Membership in working to a schedule of activity to provide stakeholders with accurate data. This role will also liaise with the Database Manager and the Membership Services team on a regular basis to discuss and investigate data issues. The integrity of the fundraising database is essential to providing excellent donor care and supporting the donor journey.
Key areas of responsibility:
- To maintain and update confidential data accurately on the Raiser's Edge fundraising database. A significant amount of data entry work is required.
- To assist the Data Manager: Membership in the process of Membership renewals and the management of Membership Direct Debits, which includes reconciling data from an external service provider against Raiser's Edge, adjusting records, cleaning and spotting exceptions.
- To be responsible for data integrity in Raiser's Edge and help maintain data documentation, especially in relation to Membership, donor and prospect data.
- To assist the Data Manager and the Gifts and Planning team in the processing of donations such as cheque or card payments.
About you:
- Educated to GCSE level, or above.
- Strong IT skills with a good understanding of databases and a prior experience of using spreadsheets or data entry.
- An active problem solver with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy office environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Conservation Collective (CC) funds solutions to protect the environment, restore nature, and safeguard against climate change. The CC UK charity incubates, launches, and supports locally focused foundations, which open new funding channels to support the most impactful environmental grassroots projects. Our network comprises 20 members based all over the world and is growing.
We manage and monitor our donor relations, grant giving governance, contacts, and event activities, via a bespoke and customised salesforce system. This was launched in early 2022, and has been developed and configured to meet our growing needs since then.
As the demand for our model increases around the world, we need a highly capable Salesforce and data administrator to support us to ensure our system is well managed, users are trained, and we can create accurate reports for our donors and other audiences. We’re looking for someone who can not only ensure that the existing system works well and is well managed, but who can identify opportunities for improvement and help us generate high-quality reports from the system to help us to raise more funding to support grassroots conservation work.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Salesforce System: maintenance, training, development, and reporting

As well as the Salesforce administration, the candidate we’re looking for will be able to assist us as:

a key point of contact with our outsourced IT company, overseeing the creation of new users and managing the leavers’ processes on the MS 365 environment

Troubleshooting issues as a first point of contact before liaising with outsourced providers.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the Head of Digital:
- Experience of department or large project management, including people and budget management

- Good knowledge and understanding of W3C Web standards and accessibility

Gromit Unleashed 3 follows three trailblazing and award-winning public art trails from Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, in partnership with Aardman, that have generated over £20 million to support Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital.

Office Facilities and Administrative Support:

- As Fire Warden, take lead responsibility to ensure that fire evacuation procedures are effective; maintain the Fire Logbook, fire equipment, fire alarm and fire doors. Conduct statutory checks on fire and electrical equipment. Ensure appropriate numbers of and training of Fire Marshals.
- Work with Director of Finance and Operations UK to evaluate appropriate office insurance to ensure adequate and appropriate cover.
- Undertake key projects to maintain the effective operation of the office and other duties as consistent with the post as requested.
Incoming and Outgoing Mail:
- Receive and process all incoming mail. Frank and dispatch all outgoing mail, ensuring it is sent in a cost-effective manner in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure that key staff members are kept fully trained on the franking machine and DHL/Courier services and that cover is put in place for days when the operations, administration, and office Coordinator is out of the office.

6. Build relationships with current corporate partners, supporting their CSR goals.
7. Identify and resolve policy and technical issues within Leaping Bunny and potential new programmes.
8. Provide technical information and advice to other animal protection groups internationally who are licenced to operate Leaping Bunny, ensuring the consistent application of standards and procedures.
9. Work in support of the SBP Technical Manager to develop new licensing programmes for different market sectors as required.
10.Maintain best practice surrounding customer care and data protection and ensure compliance with relevant information legislation such as GDPR.
11. At the request of the SBP Technical Manager or other senior management, support the work of the organisation by undertaking any other appropriate tasks.

Experience/Knowledge:
At least one year’s experience of working in a similar role, acting as first point of contact for technical queries, and of providing core membership services to users.
At least one year’s experience of working in a FMCG industry.
Proven ability to work with a range of stakeholders with experience of building relationships, ideally within the corporate sector or working with corporate partners.
Proven ability to deal with technical and scientific information and experience of translating such information for public and lay audiences.
Proven project management skills and a track record in delivering against multiple deadlines in a pressurised environment.
Experience of administering a technical programme which requires significant attention to detail.
Experience of maintaining high quality and accurate records, using appropriate software and online applications.
Proven experience of maintaining compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
Proven interest in animal protection and the potential to create change in the ethical consumer marketplace.
Experience of using O365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Education and Professional Qualifications needed:
Educated to degree standard or qualified by equivalent work-based experience.
