York Carers Centre is an independent charity that helps unpaid carers in York access the support they need.  We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in using their experience and skills to lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working with and for young carers across York.

With responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of an effective quality Young Carer Service the post holder will ensure young carers are identified and recognised and have access to a range of emotional and practical support according to their specific needs.

The role will involve providing monitoring reports to our funders, working strategically with a range of professionals from the voluntary and statutory sector, and building relationships with schools; to raise awareness of young carers and ensure carers and their families access relevant information and support.

The Lead Officer will support the team to deliver activities and one-to-one support for the most vulnerable young people and work with colleagues to create initiatives which ensure young carers have fun, develop healthy networks and develop their voice through active participation thereby effecting positive change.

We are looking for an individual who can work under pressure and prioritise and manage own workload and that of the Young Carer team with minimum supervision and take appropriate action according to policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection.

Philanthropy Officer - Remote / Hybrid Working

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference through the playing a vital role in our Philanthropy Team. 
Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager this role is responsible for working alongside their line manager, wider team and operational colleagues to write and support applications to trusts and foundations for funding.

The role also plays a key role in the stewardship of our trust and foundation supporters, building strong and meaningful relationships with these organisations and individuals.  Whilst not a key focus of this role, the post holder may also be required to support the Philanthropy Team’s wider work including corporate and major donor approaches.

About You
We are looking for a passionate and skilled trusts and foundations officer to play a key role in building on the successes of our trusts and foundations programme.  With passion for both writing and supporter stewardship you will be able to write persuasively and build meaningful relationships with those who support us. Working well as a team player you will work closely with both the wider Philanthropy Team and operational colleagues to support local applications as appropriate. 

You will have a track record of delivering efficiently and effectively. You focus on insight, stewardship and persuasive writing to get the right result for the organisation and building lasting and substantial relationships with funders. You will also be an effective communicator developing trusting relationships across the organisation and with our funders and supporters, taking everyone with you on the journey.

About the role

Our dedicated team moderates our full-service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one-off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector. 

This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9 am (or earlier), wrap up by 9 pm and adhere to our sub-three-hour response time. 

Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third-sector comms experience. 

As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Working across a range of social media management tools

• Responding/actioning to all comments and queries in under three hours

• Maximising donations when required 

• Going above and beyond at all times to provide supporters with an incredible experience

Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday. 

Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.

As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked. 

Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional comms experience, working with a large charity with an active social media following. They will understand the importance of building positive engagement and relationships with the public and be committed to act in the best interests of our charity partners.

About the role

The Communities Activities Coordinator will work closely with the Furness For You partnership, its participants and volunteers.  In this role you will be responsible for organising and creating a varied activities programme, from organising creative activities to group events to completing one to one support with specific activities, all of which will promote independence, resilience, choice and dignity for our participants, enabling participants to develop valuable personal and work-based skills and gain confidence to enable them to achieve their goals. We’re looking for a capable and caring person to join Lancashire Mind’s existing Housing Team. Under the direction of the Housing Operations Lead, you will manage a caseload of tenants with enduring mental health conditions living in properties that are managed by Lancashire Mind.

Via home visits, you will work with each tenant to agree a support plan to enable them to maintain their tenancy and move towards independent living.

You will build strong working relationships with local services to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting tenants, whilst at the same time developing and maintaining good working relationships with other local services and organisations that provide support services to tenants. 

You will complete and update records of interactions with tenants on the internal database and input data accurately onto monitoring spreadsheets. 

Experience of delivering a housing/tenancy management service, including arrears management, tenancy management (help with budgeting, managing bills and claiming the correct benefits), antisocial behaviour, safeguarding, repairs and health and safety, would be beneficial, but is not essential.

To succeed in the role, you will need excellent communication skills, be IT literate, and able to establish relationships based on trust with different people.

The role of the Regional Assistant Manager is a team leader position within the Migrant Help Asylum Services team, part of the AIRE contract, and to provide a professional service which includes the provision of advice and guidance in addition to aiding with the completion of support applications. You will support and lead the Client Advisers within the Regional Team, champion training, coaching and overall management of the team. You will be required to support in the completion of all types of asylum applications, induction briefings to new arrivals in initial accommodation, provide them with advice and guidance around the asylum process, asylum support and their obligations.

​As the Regional Assistant Manager your duties would include:

• Provide an Advice and Guidance service to Asylum Seekers and Failed Asylum Seekers, including assessing eligibility criteria and completing Asylum Support Application Forms (ASFs), notifying the Authority on changes of circumstances, immigration related matters within the scope of OISC regulations, Voluntary Assisted Returns, and signposting to other organisations

• Responsible for day-to-day operational oversight of the Client Adviser team under the overall management of the Regional Manager, including monitoring inboxes and respond or allocate requests received, planning for staff workloads, absence monitoring and ensuring assigned rota duties, are carried out as planned

• Support with the Health and Safety arrangements of this multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the team are safe and secure at all times through robust lone working and RAMS arrangements

• Conduct line management of client advisers, including supporting the recruitment and inductions of new staff, employee development, appraisal and supervision, performance monitoring, absence monitoring, disciplinary and conflict resolution

• First line of escalation for Client Advisers on complex cases, including unplanned and complex cases, ensuring Initial Accommodation requests, Requests for Further Information and Evictions are dealt with in a timely manner, and initial escalation for safeguarding issues or concerns

• Handle calls effectively, work in a timely way to ensure that clients are supported appropriately whilst ensuring that we are able to support as many people in need as possible

• Provide outreach and face to face support for clients and those with additional support needs, by appointment, at designated locations, as required by the Regional Manager or / or Head of Service

• Facilitate team meetings including daily briefings to ensure that team members are up to date on matters that effect the delivery of service, such as policy and legislation changes

• Act as a contact with the Home Office, Social Services, Healthcare Professionals, AASC provider and other relevant agencies for applicants with additional support needs

• Keep full, accurate and up-to-date case records and complete case follow-up within the requisite time scales and undertake any necessary administrative tasks

• Support Regional Manager with administrative requirements for the contracts and services i.e, daily management reports, KPI data checks, managing regional appointments to ensure efficient service delivery; and Quality Management of the service, including but not limited to; supervisions and file reviews, client feedback, internal and external audit activity e.g. Advice Quality Standards, ISO etc. as well as In line with OISC and Migrant Help requirements and quality frameworks

We are looking to recruit an Immigration Advisor to provide tailor-made advice to individual clients and to engage them in the process of making informed choices about their future direction. This is an exciting role in our Immigration Team that will work closely with the team to ensure that the centre is able to provide confidential OISC Level 2 and 3 advice and representation, whilst providing support and training to colleagues working at Level 1.  The role is pivotal in providing highly skilled legal advice and representation to vulnerable clients across London at no cost to the individual. This is particularly important at a time where free or low-cost advice is becoming harder to find.

If you have the IAAS senior caseworker accreditation, you will be the key advisor with regards to Legal Aid work, including prioritising Legal Aid cases and ensuring that Legal Aid is used whenever appropriate throughout the team.

Founded in 1992 by a group of mental health professionals, Working Well Trust was established to address the issue of low employment rates for people who have experienced mental health issues.  Since starting we have seen advances in the specialist support offered to people seeking employment and a change in cultural attitudes towards mental health.  

In the last few years we have adapted this approach to work with people with Autism (ASD), people with learning difficulties, physical disabilities or complex issues including homelessness or addiction.

Employment Support – offering support that meets the individual’s needs using both the traditional stepped approach and the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. 

Employer support – enabling the recruitment and retention of their employees. 

Social Enterprises – we offer training within social enterprises for people who want to gain a new skill, increase their confidence and be part of a team. 

Business and Enterprise support – providing one to one advice to clients who wish to start up or expand an enterprise. 

Co-production - Working Well remains committed to the principles of the recovery model and continuously improve its services through co-production. 

Role Purpose: 

Work Well is a government funded programme that offers an early-intervention work and health support and assessment service. This provides holistic support to overcome health-related barriers to employment, and a single, joined-up gateway to other support services. 

We work in partnership with mental and/or physical health clinical teams, GP practices and other referral partners who refer clients who are currently in employment but are experiencing difficulties in the workplace and require assistance to help them return to work, remain in work or find new employment. This programme will also support those who have fallen out of work to get the support they need to return to employment. That support will be tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. 

We need a Work and Health Coach to provide highly effective support to individuals and guide them on their journey to returning, remaining or finding new employment while also supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing. The Work and Health Coach will also be instrumental in supporting participants to remove health related barriers by sourcing and funding appropriate interventions.

At FearFree we are proud to deliver services across the Southwest, and we're excited to be expanding our offer, with the introduction of a new Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Service.

As a Support Advisor you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the ETE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working part time or full time alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Gloucester, providing support to Bristol and North Wilts as required, the project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
• Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
• Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
• Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of the ETE sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of Employability skills and will demonstrate the ability to proactively engage with both local employers and local support networks/organisations to promote the skills of the individuals they are supporting.

Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)

Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.

Hours: 25 hours per week on duty – this is a mixture of day, evening and weekend shifts. Two days a week will be off duty.

Leave: Two nights a month can be taken as nights away from the home. This in addition to annual leave allowance. Annual leave - 33 days (converted into hours) pro-rata for number of hours worked

Salary Band: £24,150 - £27,760 per annum pro rata. Equivalent to £16,100 to £18,506 for 25 hours a week.

Overall Purpose

To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. To act as an excellent role model and to work closely with them and their Support Worker to enable them to make good progress towards independence.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation, helping them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
• Actively support young people to make progress and develop in the following outcomes; physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing; personal safety; education and learning; employment and training that is safe and suitable; social engagement (being part of the community and activities outside of the home)
• Be an excellent and positive role model, offering advice, guidance and assistance and consistently modelling behaviours in line with Baca’s values.
• Using Baca’s progress plan, train all young people in living skills and looking after a home such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety, food shopping and budgeting.
• Providing emotional support at times of difficulty, anxiety or stress.
• Encourage young people settle into and support them to maintain a healthy routine which will include regularly attending education and social activities.
• Act as a co-keyworker for the young people to ensure that their support plans and progress are up to date and that all their needs are being met.
• Enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries by challenging any unhelpful or unsafe behaviours and encouraging safe and positive behaviours.
• In accordance with the guidelines on Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and report any concerns.
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to ensure all young people are safeguarded and supported to rebuild their lives.
• Take responsibility for keeping the home clean, by consistently role modelling to and training young people.
• Maintain very good communication with relevant members of the Rebuild Team and relevant social workers
• Ensure regular appropriate reporting requirements are consistently met, meeting regulations set out by Ofsted.
• Complete and update all admin work as part of the role such as month end reports and support plans on time and in a consistent manner.
• Playing an active role in developing knowledge and understanding in areas relevant to the role and especially in the areas of asylum and refugee law, trafficking, supporting separated children and the cultures of different nations relevant to Baca.

The successful applicant will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care. Someone who is supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to set boundaries in line with Baca’s values.

This is a frontline role that will need the successful applicant to be working closely with young people in their houses and will need access to transport young people to different appointments, meetings and activities.

Who are we looking for? 

We are seeking someone with A-Levels or equivalent qualifications and a genuine interest in improving older people’s lives. You should have excellent, caring communication skills and a good understanding of Jewish culture. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are required for creating written materials and handling data. Proficiency in office procedures and IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video calls) is essential. Experience with database management is a plus, and you should be able to work flexibly and independently. 

Experience in healthcare or education settings is also desired. Prior experience in a similar role, along with project management skills, is advantageous, especially in supporting service developments from initial stages to full implementation.
