Salary: £30,000-£32,000

About the role:

The Senior Multiple Needs Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) will work within a dynamic, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service based at the CGL Ealing Women’s Wellness Zone.  The IDVA will provide support in the local community and at the Ealing Women’s Wellness Zone.  The successful candidate will be co-located up to 5 days a week at the Women’s Wellness Zone.

The IDVA will be closely working alongside CGL colleagues/team to deliver support to women with a range of complex support needs including substance misuse, mental health, domestic abuse, sex working, trafficking, and offending behaviour. The IDVA will work in collaboration with their team members to holistically support women in the borough of Ealing to achieve sustained recovery, improved health and wellbeing, helping women to manage/mitigate risks, and empowering them to reach their fullest potential in society as well as ensuring the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process.

The Senior Multiple Needs IDVA will assess the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support. As well as identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs. They will also proactively advocate and advice women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, encouraging them to engage with other agencies, and help co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support where necessary.

About You:

To be successful as the Senior Multiple Needs IDVA you will need to have:

Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. As well as understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.

Bringing your experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, and crisis planning and successfully managing high numbers of referrals and experience of working in a co-located setting with another agency and providing consultations/briefings to professionals to support in upskilling them around Domestic Abuse. The candidate will have experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work as part of an innovative service, designed to offer multi-disciplinary wrap-around support to women with multiple needs, with the aim of facilitating long-term recovery.

Purpose of the job

The primary purpose of this newly-created role of Events and Office Manager is to deliver in-person and online events and experiences for children, young people and registered leaders in the London District area.

About The Boys’ Brigade in London

The Boys’ Brigade London District is comprised of 70 companies (local groups) located from Slough in the West to Margate in the East, Hoddesdon in the North to Tonbridge in the South. The area includes the companies located in the whole of Greater London as well as all the companies in Kent.

Key responsibilities

The jobholder will:

• Work with volunteer teams (sub committees) to create a calendar of events for children, young people and registered leaders for each session (academic year). 
• Drive forward and support volunteer teams to plan, organise and deliver the agreed calendar of events.
• Develop and execute a simple communications plan to advertise events to the right people, using and appropriate mix of email, social media and paper.
• Be responsible for systems to register participants and collect payments.
• Liaise with external suppliers and venues and handle payments in line with London District’s agreed policies for financial management.
• Ensure that safeguarding, health and safety risks are managed according to national Boys’ Brigade policies and guidance, and prevailing legislation.
• Lead or be part of events teams that ensure the smooth delivery on the day.
• Support the administration of grant funds (including the Jack Petchey Award Scheme) within the District.

About you (person specification)

Essential. You will:

• have GCSE maths and English at grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
• be able to self-motivate and work without close supervision.
• be sympathetic to the object of The Boys’ Brigade.
• have a proven track record – professionally or as a volunteer – of successfully delivering events.
• have experience of working with volunteers with different backgrounds, skills and time to offer.
• be capable of accurate administration, including of financial transactions, and courteous customer service.

Desirable

• You will be familiar with The Boys’ Brigade operating model, or that of other organised Christian youth work.
• Understanding and experience of supporting charity governance, in either a voluntary or paid capacity.

Pay and benefits

£30,000 per annum pro-rated plus reasonable travel and office expenses. Overtime payments may be available.

Location

Homeworking with occasional travel to events in London. Applications are welcome from beyond the London District area but travel costs will only be met within the District area. Home office equipment (laptop, phone, printer etc) will be provided.

Working pattern

This is a part-time role requiring an average of 18 hours per week.

London District are open to considering a range of working patterns for this role, including a regular pattern of mornings and afternoons, or a more flexible approach across a month or term. The role would also be suitable for term-time only working.

Within that overall flexibility, the role will require some evening working (on average four to six times a month) for example to meet with key volunteers, or to facilitate training and events. The role will also require working specified weekends to be part of event teams for key London District events (up to 6 times a year).

Purpose of the job 

The Head of Policy & Public Affairs is responsible for leading UK Youth’s influencing work with Westminster, devolved administrations, and local government. They will lead our advocacy for ambitious and actionable policies that will help unlock youth work for all young people. They will ensure that our policy recommendations are informed by the strongest available evidence, meaningful youth involvement, and the expertise of youth workers. About the role:

The Islington Multi-Disciplinary Service is funded by the London Borough of Islington. The service is funded to  support vulnerable residents aged 18 and upwards , with a focus on tenancy sustainment and developing independent living skills. The service works closely with partner agencies across the borough to support clients to maximise opportunities to lead fulfilling lives. Partner agencies include local Housing Departments , DWP , Treatment Agencies and Mental Health Services.

The role of the FSW is to support a caseload of up to 25 clients within a recovery framework. 

The primary focus is on preventing tenancy breakdown, improving quality of life and promoting independence. This can involve helping our clients to maximise or stabilise their income. It could also involve us helping tenants to address other issues such as substance use and mental health problems. 

The role includes hybrid working and will be based in our office in Holloway and at home.

About you:

• Experience/knowledge of supporting clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting , calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears and housing options.

Purpose of the Job:

This role is within our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm(midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The shift pattern for this role is 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.
• Promoting people’ rights and responsibilities
• Working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and developing flexible and realistic crisis support packages/person centred plans
• Listening to clients and encouraging positive steps towards self-management of crisis and recovery
• Providing advice, information, practical and emotional support to clients
• Proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies e.g. CATT, Emergency Duty Teams, CMHTS, etc

You will have:

• Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services and with clients experiencing mental health distress and crisis

• Understanding of the Recovery Model in mental health
• Understanding of the principles of trauma informed care

Encompass are excited to be partnering with North Northamptonshire Council to open a new Supported Accommodation Project in Corby. This Project will offer supported accommodation to those experiencing homelessness and have multiple complex needs. The project will provide a safe, secure environment where residents can thrive, achieve positive outcomes, recover from their experience of homelessness and transition into sustainable housing. We work in a person centred, strengths based and trauma informed way in all that we do.

This is a new role within the Encompass team and will be key in providing holistic, intensive support to residents and developing trusting relationships with a challenging clientele. You will have responsibility for case management with a number of residents, completing needs assessments, overseeing progress and delivering tailored support as they address barriers. You will need to be able to constructively challenge residents, make difficult decisions and be proactive in engaging residents in the support we provide.

Our residents consist of those experiencing Multiple Exclusion Homelessness and require intensive support. ​They are individuals with high complex support needs, including entrenched rough sleepers, individuals with a drug/alcohol dependence,  those suffering from mental ill health, those with physical disabilities, rough sleepers with no resource to public funds or ex-offenders or individuals at risk of offending. You will possess a skill set which enables you to deliver tailored long term support to these residents, leading them to identify and address the barriers they face. Your background could be in Mental Health, Addiction, Housing, working with offenders or other relevant support services.

You will work with the wider staff team to deliver a quality housing service and support residents to transform their lives. The role will also work closely with the council housing options team, to move individuals into permanent accommodation. It may involve continuing to support an individual for a set period after they have left the project, to ensure they maintain their future tenancy.

This role will involve promoting the work of the project to potential supporters, volunteers, and partners. About the role:

The Floating Support Worker will specialise in working with women for whom housing and risk of tenancy breakdown is a priority. You will provide specialist housing and domestic abuse support to women aged 18 and over. The accommodation needs of the women you support will require you to advocate and support for each woman efficiently and empathically, whilst liaising with providers and stakeholders to ensure her accommodation needs are met. The role is dynamic and requires the post holder to respond to women with effective crisis intervention, advocacy and support. They will be required to coordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. The post holder will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.

About You:

To be successful as the Housing Floating Support Worker, you will need the below experience and skills:

Solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms, come from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job

A good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities

Skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning

Experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have

An understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children

A good knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation

Other skills and experience:

Good data collection, monitoring and IT skills

A relevant qualification or training, for example in domestic abuse, criminal justice, law, social work, substance misuse or related area

Flexibility to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support

  Main tasks and responsibilities

  Young people's services

  Delivering a resettlement service to young people with multiple needs. This will include:

• Working to ensure young people receive a high-quality service from the point of registration to the move-on. Taking a hands-on approach to dealing with complex or difficult cases and ensuring the quality of support plans to create opportunities to promote independence.
• Managing a caseload of internally referred clients with additional needs as they transition out of homelessness, ensuring that the necessary support structures are in place to facilitate successful tenancy sustainment.
• Carrying out thorough needs assessments and putting in place support plans with young people accessing the resettlement programme.
• Providing expert advice and guidance on Accommodation, Welfare Benefits, Housing Benefit and Tenancy rights, Legal Services, and Employment, Education & Training. Monitoring and evaluating young people’s progress.
• Building and maintaining effective partnerships with accommodation providers and external stakeholders, in addition to cultivating and strengthening existing relationships.
• Referring young people to other internal New Horizon Youth Centre teams in order to support their progression, including Health and Jobs, Education and Training.
• Providing advocacy and referring young people to a wide range of specialist external services including around advocacy, substance misuse, mental health, immigration, counselling, financial/debt advice, and legal services.

  Sharing best practice

• Promoting and representing NHYC at relevant forums, meetings and events.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to work in Cornwall to promote and enable - walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport as the sustainable way of travelling to schools, workplaces, and for journeys in the local community.

As the Project Officer, you will be innovating, developing, and delivering tailor-made packages of activities and promotional material to encourage and enable active travel. 

You will work in close partnership with Cornwall Council, public transport providers, Sustrans’ Behaviour Change & Engagement team and colleagues to support the development and delivery of a countywide Workplace Travel Challenge. This will help ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from the project and that more local journeys can be travelled actively. 

Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a permanent multi-skilled advocate to join our busy Halton Advocacy HUB multi-disciplinary team, working 22.5 hours per week.

Based in Halton, for this exciting multi-disciplinary role, we are looking for those with a particular interest in Non-Statutory Advocacy as the role will be based in a secure unit for up to two days a week. This role involves providing general advocacy support to patients in supporting form filling, sourcing general information, signposting and general low-level concerns and safeguarding issues around their care not covered by the IMHA role.  The role also covers the NHS Complaints Advocacy in our Warrington HUB (or Halton Hub when required), helping people who need support in making a complaint about their care and treatment under the NHS.

We also require a talented person to undertake the role of the RPR to support individuals detained under the Mental capacity Act on a DoLS when needed.

What we need from you

We are looking for someone who has the creativity and enthusiasm to support people in difficult circumstances, ideally has experience in a health or social care and may have their own life experiences relevant to the role. Although it would be useful to already hold a formal advocacy qualification, if you have not got advocacy qualifications it is not a problem, we will provide the required training.

You will be working from a secure mental health unit for up to two days a week and then the rest of the week will either be working from home so must have access to a stable home broadband service. There will also be an element of the role where you will be out in the community, but not exclusively, in Warrington, Halton, Widnes and Runcorn areas and therefore you must have access to your own transport.

There may be times when work is required outside normal working hours, so flexibility is required.
