Role Requirements

• Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.
• Support with photocopying of notes for subject access/ solicitor requests (SARS).
• Manage the SARS and redacting process with appropriate members of the Therapies teams.
• Update logs and coordinate the Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision across the Therapies teams, escalating non-compliance where required.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and administer booking processes for all relevant training sessions/course.
• Coordinating specialist clinics, including spine and hip clinics; liaising with the Physiotherapy team to ensure the correct children are on the schedule. Liaison with external Consultants to organise the clinic lists.
• Carry out audiotyping of clinic letters and distribute as required.
• Update absences within the teams onto the SMI (staff care) system, as requested by the Heads of Service.
• Place orders for any required equipment and/or resources for departments and for the children and young people as deemed necessary.
• Take overview of clinical asset ordering, linking with the clinical assets team and management system, in line with MHRA guidelines and the medical devices policy.
• Track and monitor equipment orders with Heads of service, escalate delays and provide a central overview for all equipment re-charges and ordering.
• Raise and receipt PO’s and invoices for the therapies directorate and liaise closely with the finance team.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

About the role:

This role is based in London and offers hybrid working both from home and our office in Singer Street. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate for Male Victims you will:

• implement effective ways of working with male victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
• provide a high-quality, front-line service to male victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• specialise and be leading practitioner for Male victims of domestic abuse; providing advice, guidance and single point of contact for a male victims

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

Age UK Islington is developing a new befriending service in the coming months. As part of this development, we have an exciting opportunity for a part-time role as a Befriending Coordinator.

This will involve supporting all aspects of service development, partnership building, volunteer recruitment, training and management and matching volunteers to clients for home visits, telephone befriending and/or activity-based befriending. The post holder will also be responsible for case recording, monitoring and service evaluation.

This will involve working with girls to bring about the change they want to see through their research findings.

A key purpose of the technical advisers in the team is to provide policy, advocacy and influencing advise and technical advice to support resource mobilisation and programme quality (when expertise is not in the Federation). Another key purpose of this role is to strengthen AAUK’s reputation as an organisation taking an intersectional feminist, evidence-informed, and decolonial and anti-racist approach to girls’ rights’ research and action, programming and resourcing.

The post holder will have strong, practical experience in developing, supporting, and evaluating the impact of intersectional research led by girl and programming on Girls’ Rights in particular programming that supports adolescent girls’ leadership, reproductive health, prevention and response to harmful practices impacting girls (including early forced and child marriage and FGM/C), gender equality within schools and communities, girls economic rights, and community mobilisation to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.

We are delighted to be partnering with the organisation to recruit a Programme Manager to join the team on a fully remote working basis. This person can be based anywhere in the UK and the role is offered on an 8 month fixed term contract until March 2025.

The role:
The Programme Manager will lead on all Programme Management activities to support the organisation’s work developing and delivering the Accelerating Reform Fund programe. Working under the strategic leadership of the Head of Innovation, they will ensure robust but agile programme management that enables the organisation to provide iterative and evolving support to a large portfolio of innovation projects in Social Care. With oversight from the Head of Innovation, they will also play a central role in designing, developing and delivering the programme of support, with a particular focus on scaling up social care innovation and supporting learning amongst projects.

The person:
The successful candidate will have substantial demonstrated experience of Project Management ideally in the Health and Social Care or Social Change Sectors. This person could also have been a social worker with experience of having run development projects. They will have knowledge of the Social Care Act and will be familiar with digital change, commissioning, co-production and communicating with local authority audiences, and will be able to partner effectively with decision makers and senior stakeholders in the Social Care sector. This person will also have designed and delivered programmes of improvement aimed at reforming quality and focus in Social Care in the UK. An accomplished partnership worker, having commissioned training and ideally will have worked on Social Care training and development programmes with lots of planning, budget management and national reach.

This role is fully remote, so the candidate can be based anywhere in the UK and will be part of a national team of 40 staff. The person will need to be able to travel to London for a monthly in person meeting, and across the country for some workshops approx. 6-8 times during the contract.

About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Shetland. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home or other suitable community venue and be home based for telephone for administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.

This is a part time role for 21 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum pro-rata. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working, providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education, training, benefits, employment, care and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.  This can be through 1-2-1 advocacy or in a group setting.

The role - Independent Living Coordinator

In this role, you will be responsible for;

• Delivering a brilliant service to customers living in our older people's independent living schemes
• Providing intensive on scheme housing management and support services to customers living in the buildings, ensuring provision of excellent services and active customer participation and involvement.
