Inclusion Specialist

We are looking for an Inclusion Specialist (term time + 3 weeks only) to join a team providing specialist support and interventions for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) impacted by the Grenfell tragedy.

Position: Inclusion Specialist

Salary: £51,429 - £58,140 per annum (£48,857 – £55,233 actual/pro-rata)

The Role

The Inclusion Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people affected by the Grenfell tragedy. Working within the Education Hub and local schools, you will help enhance learning experiences, provide tailored interventions, and ensure inclusive practices for children with SEN.

You will:

• Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions, including after-school programs and small group teaching sessions tailored to specific learning needs.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to support the development of tailored learning plans.
• Work closely with families, schools, and community partners to provide holistic support for children with SEN.
• Act as a liaison between families and schools to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting children.
• Provide trauma-informed guidance to families, teachers, and school staff, focusing on emotional regulation and academic success.
• Support teachers in implementing inclusive strategies and differentiated instruction within the classroom.
• Facilitate restorative conversations between schools and families to strengthen relationships.
• Deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for school staff on SEN best practices.
• Create and distribute accessible learning resources and tools to support inclusive education.
• Regularly review pupil progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of children and families.

About You

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant SEN qualification or substantial experience in SEN support across multiple key stages.

• Experience working with children across different key stages and supporting children with SEN.
• An understanding of trauma informed and restorative practice alongside a willingness to learn more.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with families and understanding diverse cultural contexts.
• Familiarity with relevant education legislation and policies, including the Education Act 2002, Children and Families Act 2014, Equality Act 2010, and Keeping Children Safe in Education (2023).
• Ability to track pupil progress, implement data-driven interventions, and develop inclusive education policies.

About the Organisation

The Grenfell Education Hub will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children, young people, their families, and local schools.

Following a consultation process in 2023 and 2024, the hub will bring together a team of professionals, including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. Their time will be split between direct work with children and families in the hub and supporting local schools.

The hub’s objectives are to:

• Provide high-quality educational support to as many children and young people as possible.
• Build the skills and confidence of children, families, and education staff in local schools.
• Develop strong relationships with those most affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
• Accurately assess its impact.

The Director of Finance & Operations will direct, administer and coordinate the financial, governance, HR, IT and operational activities of the charity in accordance with company policies and the Strategic Plan established by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Board of Trustees, and to assure the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the planning, delivery and reporting of these activities.

Salary: £46,000-£51,000 per annum depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Financial Management: Oversee daily operations of the finance function, ensuring accurate month-end processes, preparation of management accounts, maintenance of the Xero accounting system, and strong financial controls and procedures. 

• Team Leadership and Oversight: Manage and support the Business Administration and Finance Officer, reviewing reconciliations and ensuring effective financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, and corporate cards. 

• Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead monthly and quarterly financial forecasting and support the Director of Finance and Operations in developing and monitoring the annual budget. 

• Financial Processing: Ensure all transactions are supported with appropriate documentation, manage income recording with the philanthropy team, and oversee gift aid submissions. 

• Payroll and Pensions: Process monthly payroll and pension contributions through Xero, manage HMRC obligations, and ensure staff expense claims are handled accurately and timely. 

• Compliance and Governance: Prepare statutory returns for the Charity Commission and Companies House, ensuring compliance with all financial and legal reporting requirements. 

• Uphold Envision’s values and be a role model for young people and volunteers. 

• Ensure that all activity is delivered in line with Envision policies and procedures.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies: 

• Prior experience of working in a similar role (min 2 years) 

• Accounting qualification (e.g.  AAT Level 3 or above, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified by Experience 

• Experience with IT systems – Office365, Shared drives 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to present financial reports and information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.

Desirable Experience, Knowledge and Competencies: 

• Experience with IT systems – Xero, SafeHR, Salesforce, Docusign

About the Role

The Street Engagement Team is a multi-disciplinary team that provides person-led support to people experiencing street homelessness and interconnecting needs.

A day in this role is never the same – part of it will be spent on the street, offering support to people experiencing homelessness. You might be out with another member of the team, or with one of our specialist health partners like a homeless health nurse, or substance use worker. Alongside this element of the role, the rest of your day will be spent intensively supporting a small caseload of people who are isolated from services.

You will have substantial experience in delivering a person-led, psychologically, gender and culturally informed service to people who are street homeless. You will be excellent at building and strengthening trust in relationships. You will be a problem solver, with a positive attitude towards change and service development.

You will also have the personal credibility to build confidence in the wider community and across partnerships.  You will be both strength-based and solution-focused, developing and enhancing the relationships with a commitment to embed coproduction into The Connections services.

About the role:

This role is based at our office in Preston covering the West Lancashire area, once you have completed training & probation period you can apply for hybrid working, all travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Focusing on victims at high risk of harm & will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Supporting victims face to face or by telephone to access services to keep themselves & family safe.
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs & risk assessment.
• Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including legal & civil options, housing, health & finance as well as support through the criminal justice system.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse & the impact on victims and their children
• Understand risk assessment, safety planning & risk management for victims and their children
• Have knowledge of Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims and their children.
• Have experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
• Have experience of managing a complex caseload, able to prioritise to deal with competing demands.

About the role

Women and Girls Network (WGN) seeks a highly motivated and experienced ISVA Manager to manage our West London Rape Crisis Service ISVA service and team alongside the ISVA (Black Women Service Lead) Manager. Our ISVA service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, survivor-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy that supports survivors on their unique journey of seeking justice. The service is passionate about campaigning and being a part of institutional advocacy and reform of the criminal justice process for survivors of sexual violence across England and Wales.  

As the ISVA Manager, you will lead the overall operational delivery of WGN’s ISVA service, ensuring the ISVA team provides the highest quality of specialist support to women who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging (or considering engaging) with the Criminal Justice System, while meeting organisational strategic objectives and funding requirements.  

You will provide Line Management and Case Management Support, including safeguarding guidance, ensuring a safe, responsive, advocacy-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate service for women accessing our support.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable supervisory, leadership, or managerial experience, particularly in gender-based violence support services.

IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Faith Partnership Advisor (FPA)’ on a permanent, full time basis, to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in either Birmingham, London or where IR has an office globally. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working policy.

The purpose of the role:

The Faith Partnership Advisor will play a critical role within International Programmes Division (IPD) supporting the Divisions’ strategic objectives to consolidate its identity as an Islamic faith-based institution, leading our Faith Engagement Strategy, representing our approach to important multi-lateral and other institutions, ensuring the faith sensitivity and faith literacy of its programmes and securing funding for its global operations. The role will sit within the Programme Funding and Partnership Department (PFPD) within the IPD.

Building upon our many programme partnerships with other faith-based and non-faith-based actors, this role will forge new partnerships that build on the inspiring work we have developed in the areas of livelihoods, peacebuilding, forced migration, protection and gender justice. The Faith Partnership Advisor is expected to have extensive experience preparing bids which have a faith dimension to them, centred on the added value of Islamic Relief as a faith-based organisation and the industry’s need to have faith centric development and humanitarian approaches.

The successful candidate must have:

• A graduate degree or equivalent experience in development/humanitarian areas
• An in-depth understanding of international development issues
• An exceptional understanding of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic teaching, particularly pertaining to aid and development issues
• An awareness of the various funding mechanism that are available within the industry
• Exceptional command of English with the ability to edit, summarise and compile information quickly and often within short time frames
• An ability to speak publicly and communicate confidently within groups
• An ability to lead working groups and plan strategically
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and being versed with PowerPoint and Excel

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We’ll achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales.

The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) is central to this mission. The ALP will transform how areas identify and support young people and places most vulnerable to violence, collaborate effectively, and deliver impactful interventions to better protect children from being drawn into violence. We are seeking an exceptional senior manager to help drive the next phase of the ALP, scaling from a successful pilot in four Local Authorities to broader implementation across England and Wales. 

Key Responsibilities 

The Senior Area Leaders Programmes Manager will be an essential part of the YEF Change team and will support the expansion and delivery of the Area Leaders Programme, ensuring its effectiveness in increasing evidence-based decision-making, commissioning, and multi-agency collaboration. You will provide direct operational oversight and stakeholder engagement to support local areas in reducing youth involvement in violence.  Approximately 0.4fte of the role will be presenting YEF Toolkit evidence in both the ALP and across wider violence prevention networks supported by the YEF.

This will include: 

Programme Management and Delivery 

• Support the management of the expansion of ALP from four pilot areas to 10 new local authority areas from spring 2025. 
• Support the development and refinement of frameworks, tools, and resources to support effective identification of the people and places most vulnerable to violence, evidence-based commissioning, effective case management, and multi-agency collaboration. 
• Commission and manage contractual arrangements with external consultants secured to support ALP development and delivery. 
• Manage robust monitoring and evaluation processes to assess the impact and inform continuous improvement of the programme. 
• Manage programme resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, safeguarding partnerships, community safety partnerships, and other stakeholders. 
• Represent YEF in discussions with partners and policymakers. 
• Help facilitate collaboration across diverse stakeholders to align priorities, overcome barriers, and promote evidence-based approaches. 

Capacity Building and Support 

• Provide strategic and operational support to multi-agency teams, empowering them to embed effective violence prevention practices. 
• Lead capacity-building activities, including workshops, coaching, training, and peer learning opportunities for local partnerships. 

Presenting Toolkit evidence.

• You will present Toolkit evidence in talks and workshops and speak clearly and persuasively about Toolkit evidence, so that insights from our research lead to positive change. You’ll work with key stakeholders to identify areas of policy and practice that should be informed by Toolkit evidence.

About you

You’ll know about the key issues and debates in preventing children and young people becoming involved in violence.

You have a keen interest in learning from research, identifying key findings and sharing these insights with people working in various sectors and organisations. You might have worked closely with, or been a practitioner in, a youth offending team, policing, children’s services or youth work and might have previous experience of supporting a local partnership to develop their violence reduction strategy or reflect on and adopt evidence-based practice. You are aware of the current context, issues or challenges facing some of these sectors or agencies.
• You are fascinated about change and are experienced in making it happen. You understand why people find change difficult. You come alive talking about how people make decisions and why they do the things they do. 
• You are comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, whilst being excellent at bringing clarity and structure. This may have been in the context of helping to develop/grow a new programme.

Hybrid Working

Due to the nature of the programme there is some national travel required within England and Wales. This is likely to be around twice a month, all travel costs can be reimbursed with flexibility for overnight stays if preferred.
