Learning and Events Coordinator

As part of this work, our Insights and Engagement Team engages a wide range of people in the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Learning and Events Coordinator is integral to this.

We are looking for a Learning and Events Coordinator to provide coordination and administration support for Barnwood Trust’s internal learning programme, engaging staff and Trustees in individual, team and organisation-wide learning and development activities and events.

We want to diversify our team to better reflect the work and communities we support – this means we would particularly welcome applications from people who:

· are from Black, Asian and minoritised backgrounds.

· have lived experience of disability and/or mental health challenges. 

Contract terms:

· This role is 12 months fixed term, and we welcome applications from people looking for part time hours (19 hours per week).

· We offer a flexible start between 8am and 9.30am Monday to Friday.

· £16,023 p/a (pro rata) (FTE £31,624)

Summary of key duties:

· Coordinate and support team learning and development

· Assist in creating and implementing the annual Organisation Learning and Development Plan (OLDP)

· Report on learning expenditure and manage the Learning Management System

· Deliver and administer accessible internal learning activities and events

· Provide administrative support for bookings, venues, and liaising with attendees

· Maintain digital records of learning activities and ensure data accuracy

We would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

PACT is one of the UK’s leading independent adoption charities, placing children with secure and loving families and supporting them with specialist therapeutic support.

Our external members on our Adoption Panel play a very important role at PACT by considering applications from those wishing to become adoptive parents. We are looking for someone to join as a member and also act as our Adoption Panel Vice Chair, to ensure our panel reaches fair and informed recommendation outcomes to a high standard.

We are looking for energetic, proactive and self-motivated individual As Evaluation Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for co-ordinating the evaluation of the Boy’s Development Programme, working in collaboration with the Future Men project manager, project co-ordinators and external evaluation team to ensure that the evaluation is implemented and delivered successfully.

 The post holder will work with boys from Year 7 to 11 across secondary schools and will be responsible for onboarding boys to the evaluation, liaising with parents and carers to collect informed consent, conducting randomisation, and collecting data at the start and end of support. The post holder will also support the Operations Director with ensuring a successful implementation of the evaluation in line with FM’s vision, mission and values.

   About Fundraising at CARAS  

  CARAS offers holistic early-action support to refugees and people seeking asylum, ensuring individuals have the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in the UK. Founded in 2008, we have co-created our thriving adult and youth services in partnership with CARAS community members over the last 16 years and now run a thriving weekly provision of social and educational programming delivered alongside wrap-around casework support.

The growth in our service has been underpinned by great success in fundraising which has allowed us to consistently grow year on year, with our current annual budget now standing at approximately £750,000.  Fundraising is led by the Head of Development and Impact. The creation of the Fundraising Officer role is an exciting new step for CARAS, providing us with the opportunity to get to understand our supporters more deeply, and build meaningful new partnerships with businesses and investors across many sectors to improve the outcomes for individuals with a refugee background across south London. They will need to be able to build corporate partnerships, develop and deliver campaigns that drive support from our donor base, create fundraising events that bring our work to life, and build and maintain effective donor stewardship and retention journeys that create proximity to our work.   About the role  

  This role focuses on scaling CARAS’s unrestricted income portfolio, building CARAS’s support base to sustainably increase our income. Working closely with the Head of Development and Impact, this will include:  

• Planning and executing individual campaigns and appeals, including our annual Big Give campaign. 

• Developing a powerful case for support, articulating our work, its impact and the impact donors have. 

• Writing donor communications 

• Developing and delivering effective donor stewardship and retention journeys to retain donors and maximise support. 

• Identifying and cultivating relationships with our local community, building new partnerships with businesses and individuals to unlock giving opportunities. 

• Inspiring an exciting range of community fundraising campaigns run by our supporters, providing help and guidance where necessary. 

• Running fundraising events, bringing program teams and community members together with supporters to bring our work to life. 

• Monitoring the performance and measure critically against targets. 

• Undertaking research to understand who are supports are, their motivations to give, and plan engagement strategies. 

• Managing a donor database. 

The successful candidate will need to be able to work in Tooting for face-to-face meetings.  

Person specification  

Essential criteria:  

• Experience successfully managing income streams to grow revenue and deliver results against agreed targets

As our Public affairs lead, you will design and deliver a political engagement strategy to secure real climate commitments from the government to reduce the environmental harms of advertising including an end to high carbon ads, public space planning reforms to stop billboards blighting our communities and the introduction of demand reduction policies for aviation.

Are you keen to see bolder policies from the UK government on climate, public space, and tackling high-carbon sectors including cars and flights? We are seeking a Public affairs lead with familiarity with the UK’s political landscape who can take forward our campaigns for policy change to reduce the environmental harms of advertising and consumption of high-carbon travel, particularly aviation. We are seeking change in three principle areas:

• Tobacco-style legislation to restrict advertising for high carbon products, namely: airlines, airports, non-electric cars (especially SUVs) and fossil fuel companies
• Strengthening national planning regulations to protect our public spaces and neighbourhoods from the spread of intrusive, outdoor digital advertising screens.
• The introduction of policies to reduce demand for aviation in a fair and equitable manner, including a frequent flyer levy.

Working with others in the Possible team and our partner organisations on the Badvertising project Adfree Cities and New Weather Institute, you’ll keep on top of the latest developments in areas of sustainable transport, aviation and  public space planning policies. You’ll design interventions and events for innovative policy proposals which move the ‘choice architecture’ in which we make decisions away from business-as-usual and towards an economy that puts communities, sustainability and a liveable planet first. In all this you’ll be assisted by experts in the wider Possible team and supported by a caring workplace.

We are seeking a Fundraising Officer to join the Foundation during an exciting period of growth. You will work as part of a small team to deliver our fundraising strategy – we aim to grow fundraised income to £1 million annually by 2027 to fund vital work across the Peak District. This is a key role within the Foundation and is a great opportunity for someone wanting to build experience across all areas of fundraising, as well as grant-making.

About the Role

This role is an opportunity to develop your fundraising skills and gain experience across a broad range of incomes streams while also providing essential administrative support across our small charity. You will support the Director and Fundraising Manager with fundraising from grant makers, individual donors and corporate partnerships. You will already have strong digital skills and will take the lead on developing our digital fundraising through expanding the effectiveness and reach of our social media. You will oversee the administration of our Peak Partners scheme for businesses and lead on signing up new bronze and silver level partners. You will also lead on community fundraising - supporting individuals and groups who want to fundraise for the Foundation. The role will also include helping to distribute much-needed grants to projects across the National Park.

This role would be ideally suited to someone with a digital communications background who wants to develop skills in fundraising, or an individual with some fundraising or sales experience who is looking to move into the environmental sector. You will be a confident communicator and willing to muck in and be a key part of our small friendly team.

JOB PURPOSE

• Responsible for all calls/emails and face-to-face enquiries to the college relating to all courses. 
• Support our students to get an excellent learning experience from our training courses.
• Assist new students and support continuing students of the college.

The role covers the following main aspects:

• Student administration for all Waverley Abbey College courses
• Liaise with the college team to make sure students have access to all their resources and are supported in using the college software and understanding the college protocols

Research undertaken by CAS shows that many private renters face significant challenges in respect of housing costs, security of tenure, repairs and rights awareness.

As a result, Southwark Council is funding CAS to run a dedicated private renters’ support organisation to help support and promote the interests of private renters in the borough, and to undertake a range of activities to support and empower private tenants, particularly the most disadvantaged. 

To deliver the project we are looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to provide overall coordination of the project and to lead on developing a proposal and business case for a permanent independent Renters’ Support Organisation in Southwark.

• Experience of coordinating and delivering a partnership project including monitoring progress against objectives
• Experience of establishing and developing successful partnerships with other agencies and joint working
• An understanding of the challenges facing private renters and the private rented sector, and the rights available to them

THE OPPORTUNITY

This opportunity is for a permanent contract, starting immediately, with a six-month probation period. You will work 14 hours a week during core working hours, your working hours can be arranged flexibly to suit you although we will require you to attend staff meetings which take place on Thursday mornings.

THE APLASTIC ANAEMIA TRUST

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only UK charity providing information, advice and support to people affected by rare disease Aplastic Anaemia. Our vision is that everyone affected by Aplastic Anaemia in the UK should feel empowered and have access to the best possible treatment, care and support so they can lead full and healthy lives. We support our community through one of life’s toughest challenges – diagnosis with a rare bone marrow failure. We currently support around 2,400 people and have around 30 volunteers.

Having celebrated ten years of UKMSA in 2023, we are now looking forward to the next ten years with an ambitious target and programme to support and facilitate the growth of the Men’s Shed movement and the health and vitality of Sheds, together with campaigning for happier and healthier men with programmes to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness, anxiety, depression and ultimately save lives.

We are a small team, and the Head of Operations will be required to deliver against their own agreed targets, as well as supervise the work of others. The Head of Operations will be a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and have day to day line management responsibility for five staff or contractors.

General Administrative Assistant

The successful candidate will work within the admin team closely supporting the training managers and coordinators to deliver high quality training. This will include general admin and reception tasks. Providing office cover including the monitoring of shared email accounts, electronic filing, and data collection as well as working closely with the training managers and  coordinators to deliver high quality training. Focusing on our customers and promoting the growth of the training programme.

Key Responsibilities: 

To support the delivery of the annual training programme of the BPF

• Assist in the receiving and responding to general enquiries, signposting to relevant TM & TC or to other BPF staff as appropriate.
• Assist in the formatting and distribution of annual programmes, handbooks and all training related documents as directed.
• Assist in the setting up of zoom and teams’ meetings.
• Work with the librarians and the admin team on gathering reading lists in a timely and productive manner.
• Collating feedback from trainees and seminar leaders for distribution as directed
• Assist in maintaining trainee records.
• Processing purchase orders and supporting claimants with queries.

Support the application process for the training programmes

• Answer queries and directing customers to information, events and advisors.
• Assist in processing training applications and enquiries. Gathering and collating information, e.g. chasing references, DBS checks, etc.
• Arranging interviews and appointments 

General support to the team and the wider organisation

• Checking shared email accounts such as the enquires and room bookings addresses.
• Making room bookings as requested.
• Printing of daily schedules and weekly room bookings
• Ordering supplies
• supporting trainers in setting up screens and IT equipment.
• General office cover
• Working collaboratively with the whole bpf staff to ensure the smooth running of all bpf training and membership activities.
• Being part of the office duty system.
• Adhere to bpf policies and procedures.

Person specification

Qualifications

• Good level of general education.

Experience

• Some experience in an administration role, preferably in a client/customer-facing training or education environment.
• Knowledge of higher education or professional healthcare training, in relation to psychotherapy or counselling an advantage.
• Experience of working with a purchase order system desirable but not essential.

 Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose communications to a wide range of professionals, and to take accurate minutes.
• Good general computer literacy including competency in Microsoft Office, databases, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and the ability to be self-supporting.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Able to work independently and be proactive as well as able to exercise judgement about when to draw on colleagues’ expertise and ask for assistance.
• Methodical with good attention to detail.
• Able to use initiative and continue to think under pressure when faced with sensitive interactions.
• Ability and commitment to maintain strict confidentiality.

A DBS check will be undertaken by the bpf.

We are looking for five new members to join our Investigating Committee: the positions are for three osteopaths and two non-osteopaths (lay positions). This is an opportunity to become part of a fair decision-making process for a modern, inclusive and innovative healthcare regulator.

The Investigating Committee (IC) considers all concerns raised against osteopaths received by the GOsC. IC panels make an initial determination whether there is a ‘case to answer’ and if the matter should be referred to the Professional Conduct Committee. The IC also has powers of interim suspension in relation to osteopaths.

You will be expected to commit no more than 15 days a year depending on caseload, plus some extra time for example for mandatory training, reading and annual reviews. The daily attendance fee is £330. We pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses. Appointment starts on 1 April 2025 (initially for up to four years).

About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Office Administrator to join our team. To manage the overall running of the Carers’ Hub office, including overseeing HR admin, implement policy and procedures, including Health and Safety, maintain administrative processes, manage stakeholders, serve the trustee board, and work closely with the Carers’ Hub team in the implementation of events and projects.

The Office Administrator role is a new position that will provide a wide variety of operational support to the Carers’ Hub Leadership Team as we develop our offer and increase the number of carers who access our services.
