In this multi-faceted essential role, you will be the first point of contact for our supporters and provide high-quality customer service and support, from handling enquiries through to  resolution, processing income donations, sending out donation thank you letters and  supporter materials, all in a professional manner.

It is an exciting time to join King’s College Hospital Charity and the Fundraising and Communications Team to support our innovative and ambitious fundraising targets. We recently had our biggest ever team at the 2024 London Landmarks Half Marathon, with 96 runners representing Team King’s and over £85,000 raised for our hospitals. The Great Hospital Hike, our flagship fundraising event, also raised over £160,000 for our hospitals, with our supporters walking the 18-mile route from King’s College Hospital in Denmark Hill to the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley.

The Supporter Services Assistant is often the first point of contact at the charity for supporters - handling enquiries, processing income, sending out donation thank you letters and supporter materials and mass postal mailings, where required. You will combine excellent supporter care and customer service with administrative efficiency and attention to detail to ensure that the supporter experience is smooth and positive from start to finish. You'll be skilled at listening and responding to queries appropriately, both over the telephone, via email and letter.

You will use the Access Charity Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to make sure all supporter information is recorded consistently, kept up to date and maintained in accordance with database management procedures. You will work closely with the Database Manager and Senior Fundraising Operations Officer to highlight opportunities for improvements to processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• To give supporters a positive, consistent experience in all their interactions with the Charity, especially in response to enquiries, income handling and donor thanking.
• To ensure that income is recorded accurately and promptly on the CRM database to enable the Finance team to reconcile and correctly allocate income, and the Fundraising team to have financial oversight of their fundraising activities.
• To ensure that supporter records on the CRM database are kept up to date, adding enquiry responses, donation correspondence and amending records where requested by either the supporter, members of the Fundraising & Communications team or wider charity colleagues.

We are seeking a dynamic, inspiring, caring and trusted individual to make Holocaust Centre North and our projects more inclusive, imaginative and accessible. The Head of Communities will lead our new flagship initiative ‘The Rudi Project’. The programme will support our vision of Holocaust Centre North as a bold and pioneering space to reflect on ‘a global history through local stories’ from the North of England and foster a culture of care. 

Holocaust Centre North

Holocaust Centre North promotes education on the Holocaust and post-Holocaust issues to raise awareness of human rights, freedom, and equality. We do so by telling a global history through local stories, specifically those of survivors and refugees who rebuilt their lives in the North of England.

Our work spans archives and collections, learning, artistic research, exhibitions, and survivor welfare. Through these areas, we aim to foster a culture of care and raise awareness about the relevance of Holocaust history today.

We collaborate closely with refugees of Nazi persecution, their families and carers, local communities, artistic practitioners, researchers, and schools to create spaces for nuanced dialogue about the ongoing relevance of the Holocaust. We strive to create opportunities for reflection on the role this dark chapter of our shared history plays in the present, using contemporary critical frameworks to engage audiences with Holocaust history.

We are now seeking to expand our current work to reach communities that had previously been excluded, underrepresented, and/or marginalised in our work, also involving them in the museum itself. We are looking for an individual with experience in community engagement and development, particularly through the lens of archive practice and artistic responses to heritage collections.

The Rudi Project

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Rudi Project aims to develop strong partnerships with local communities that we don’t yet engage with, involving them as central participants within the fabric of our work. Through a programme of workshops, events, publications and artist residencies, we will use co-production to pose critical questions: how do we engender reflections on the Holocaust's legacies in communities that feel alienated from this history? How do we work with local communities that may feel divided due to the repercussions of current international conflict? How can we commemorate the Holocaust whilst also acknowledging participants’ silent testimonies and inherent experiences in an ever-shifting present?

This initiative represents the legacy of a recent rebrand process, which delivered a re-imagined Holocaust Centre North with a unique mandate to articulate 'a global history through local stories' and to foster 'a culture of care' when engaging with stories of trauma. Building on these foundations, The Rudi Project will enable communities to guide us in the design of sustainable and long-term practices to connect with people, especially those who also live their lives after trauma, loss, discrimination, persecution and isolation. In the process, the project will further enhance our resilience and sustainability by extending the reach of existing investment, and resources and bringing more voices around our table. 

Job Description

To work closely with the Director to support the delivery of the organisational strategy through community engagement. This will include:

• Develop a methodology for socially engaged practice and community co-production for Holocaust Centre North
• Design and deliver meaningful community consultation.
• Contribute to the development of an audience development plan for reaching diverse audience goals both through existing programmes and new initiatives.
• Support and advise colleagues in all departments to remove barriers to access and ensure Holocaust Centre North is welcoming for all.
• Build networks with charities, grassroot groups, community groups, educational partners, cultural partners and the healthcare sector.
• To line-manage members of the Holocaust Centre North team
• To contribute actively to monitor and evaluate Holocaust Centre North’s impact, particularly in relation to community engagement.

To plan and deliver events and activities with communities as part of our new flagship programme ‘The Rudi Project:’

• Design and deliver pilot activities to engage communities with our existing initiatives across commemoration, artistic responses to collections and archives.
• Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.  

To manage Holocaust Centre North’s Volunteer Programme

• To widen the reach of our volunteer recruitment and develop meaningful roles for volunteers across the organisation.

Experience

• 5 years of demonstrable experience of running creative community engagement schemes that deliver long-term impact.
• Evidence of awareness of innovative approaches to community engagement either with the cultural sector or other sectors.

• Experience of writing funding bids for community engagement/development projects or of collaborating with development teams to apply for funding.

A well established UK charity are seeking an experienced  Individual Giving and Data Manager to join their Development team. In this role, the you will manage donor data and deliver targeted communications to individual donors, focusing on regular giving programmes and fundraising from event attendees. You will also play a crucial role in our CRM transition to Salesforce, ensuring smooth data migration and implementing new fundraising processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• CRM/Data Management: Lead the Development team in transitioning to a new CRM system, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Support team members in using the new system and develop processes for managing fundraising communications.
• Individual Giving: Implement and manage regular giving strategies and develop and enhance digital fundraising platforms and coordinate donation webpages.
• Donor Stewardship: Develop and maintain a robust stewardship process, ensuring donors receive timely acknowledgments and updates on the impact of their gifts. Support stewardship events and recognition activities.

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.

Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager who oversees a small team including a Communications Officer (1.0FTE), Design and Campaigns Officer (0.6FTE) and Supporter Engagement Officer (0.6FTE). The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. As the charity grows we want to ensure that we have strong financial strategy and growth plans which enable us to achieve our vision. As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office. We envisage the focus of the role to be split with a 40% focus on income generation, 20% on Clinic Growth and 20% on brand, marketing and PR, all aspects of the role will include leadership and management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow, but will include: 

Leadership and Management:

• Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.

• Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
• Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.

• Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.

About the Role:

As our Legal Manager, Legal Service for Independent Media, you will:

• Map evolving trends and legal threats for journalists, media freedom NGOs and independent media outlets and identify the most pressing legal gaps and needs

• Build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including expanding our network of expert NGOs and legal teams working in the media, journalism and media freedom space

• Refine the operating model for the media-legal offering based on feedback received, including intake process, eligibility requirements, project flow, and impact monitoring mechanisms

About You

To be our Legal Manager, Legal Service for Independent Media, you will likely have:

• An LLB, with preference for a qualified lawyer or an advanced law degree

• At least five years’ experience working in the legal field, with prior experience in media law or related human rights matters, either in a law firm, media house or non-profit organisation

• Strong understanding of international standards on press freedom and/or the media law/policy landscape. Understanding of the legal needs of journalists and media outlets in the global south or Central/Eastern Europe/FSU an advantage

British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) is a membership organisation that brings together expertise from across the rheumatology profession, harnessing a wide variety of experience and skills to ensure we’re supporting our members to the very best of our combined ability. Our mission is to support members to deliver the best care at all stages of the rheumatology care pathway, focusing on communication, transparency and collaboration.

Rheumatology Advances in Practice (RAP) is a fully Open Access journal that publishes quantitative and qualitative research on all areas of rheumatology and musculoskeletal practice. The Editor-in-Chief plays a key role in providing leadership, vision and strategy.

Job Purpose
 
The Editor-in-Chief will be appointed by BSR and the term of appointment will be for a five-year period. The Editor-in-Chief plays a key role in providing leadership, vision and strategy of the journal.

The Editor-in-Chief for Rheumatology Advances in Practice (RAP) will work with BSR to develop and produce a high-quality journal as well as establish its strategic direction. They will be involved in keeping the BSR Board of Trustees and RAP Editorial Board as well as leading the social media presence of the journal. 
 
The Editor-in-Chief will have a general responsibility to the broader rheumatology, paediatric, primary care and allied health community in communicating clinical and scientific advances and standards, to promote their needs and aspirations by commissioning content and planning Special Issues that will enhance the field of research, care and support for these communities. 
 
The Editor-in-Chief will work with the Society and Publisher to ensure that it continues to meet its objectives and set strategic goals for the journal.  

The general strategic aims and objectives of the journal are:  

• Ensure robust ethical standards and high-quality peer review
• Grow quality and number of submissions and publications yearly
• Ensure international recognition and reach of this journal by publishing high quality scientific and clinical research from across the world, and maintaining an engaged international Editorial Board

The journal is an open access, go to resource for the rheumatology community, with a scope that encompasses the wide range of disciplines involved in the field. We recently received an impressive first impact factor of 3.1 and we are excited to continue to grow the presence of the journal internationally. As the journal is fully online and open access, we have exciting opportunities to provide a multitude of publishing services for our authors, in line with the industry standards and experimenting with new ways of publishing. We listen to the voice of the authors, readers, reviewers and board members to understand their publishing needs and are excited to trial new projects. For example, we recently launched a new article type called an ‘Atlas Review’ with a unique offer of unlimited figures, allowing authors to illustrate their important discussions and not limiting the capabilities via text exclusively.

Quality and ethical standards
The Editor-in-Chief will ensure an appropriate balance of good quality articles, so the journal addresses the needs of the multidisciplinary rheumatology community. The Editor-in-Chief will see that the journal maintains the highest ethical and moral standards. The journal must be seen to be fair and unbiased towards individuals and provides a comprehensive and balanced view of the specialty. The journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and committed to the highest ethical standards in journal publishing.

Conference attendance
The BSR, EULAR and ACR conferences provide an excellent opportunity to network with current and prospective authors, reviewers and Editorial Board members, as well as to commission new content for the journal and to provide social media updates. Conferences can also be used to arrange podcast and video interviews with authors, Board Members and colleagues. Delegate tickets to EULAR, the BSR Annual Conference and ACR will be covered by the British Society for Rheumatology and travel and hotel expenses will be covered as outlined in the budget.

Editorial support to the Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief will receive day-to-day support for processing papers and managing peer review from the BSR in-house Editorial Office team, as well as support from contacts at Oxford University Press. Co-Editors, Associate Editors and wider Editorial Board also provide support and guidance to the Editor-in-Chief.  

The relationship with the British Society for Rheumatology 
The day-to-day contact with the BSR will be through the Editorial Office; however, the Editor-in-Chief will have several relationships as follows: 

• BSR Journal Committee

The BSR Journal Committee will review and supply any feedback about overall advice given by the Editorial Board on the content, quality, standards, promotion, and performance of the journal to the Editor-in-Chief. The Journal committee is responsible for overseeing and approving the finances, scope and policies of Rheumatology Advances in Practice. The committee ensure actions decided upon further the work of the Journal and its development within the Journal’s aims and scope. 

• BSR Board of Trustees, CEO and Senior Management Team

Advised by the BSR Senior Management Team, the BSR Board of Trustees approve the finances and strategy of the journal. Members of the BSR Senior Management Team attend the Journal Committee meetings. The Editor-in-Chief is asked to attend the BSR Board of Trustees on an ad hoc basis to provide an update on strategy and delivery.  

• Rheumatology Editor-in-Chief

There is a transfer of papers model in place, so the Editor-in-Chief will have opportunity to collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief of Rheumatology to ensure the right papers are directed to the right journals by understanding the scope nd criteria of each journal. The journals share a X and instagram pages and marketing and promotional campaigns can be co-ordinated.

• Oxford University Press 

OUP publish the journal on behalf of the BSR. OUP provides a full publishing experience with expert teams who advise and support on matters related to production, marketing and law, publishing ethics and strategy. The publisher, BSR and the EiC work closely to ensure the journal strategy is bespoke in order for Rheumatology Advances in Practice to maintain the current community, build the readership and authorship, and align with the visions and values of BSR. The Editor-in-Chief will meet OUP contacts at the Journal Committee Meeting and strategy planning meetings, as the publisher highly values the knowledge and experience of the Editor-in-Chief. Day to day communication will be via the Editorial Office to ensure smooth running of journal procedures.  

Main responsibilities

• Work towards and guide the 5-year strategy for the journal
• Set strategic goals with BSR and the publisher to apply for further indexing, and maintain or grow the Impact Factor
• Work with BSR, the publisher and Editorial Board to target and commission reviews, original articles and special issues, and curate a sponsored supplement timeline
• Ensure that the journal’s scope is international and is reflected in its content 
• Ensure the journal is produced to a high standard, and that it reflects the needs of the full spectrum of the rheumatology professional community
• Ensure rapid peer review with time to first decision within three weeks 
• Ensure the Editorial Board reflects not only the various subspecialties within rheumatology but also includes a global spread 
• Ensure that the journal is promoted online using a range of media to promote and raise awareness of the journal
• Participating in the digital offerings of the journal, such as hosting podcasts

Person Specification

1.  A PhD degree/ Doctor of Medicine, specialised in rheumatology, with a clinical science background and a strong understanding of recent trends and developments 
2.  Demonstrable experience in an editorial role including, reviewer, editorial board member, associate editor or guest editor
3.  Adaptability to new publishing systems and software. Experience with the system, ScholarOne, would be beneficial to the role but is not a requirement as training can be provided

The Events and Fundraising Executive will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of the Lady Garden Foundation’s varied annual calendar of fundraising events which include charity lunches, brand collaborations and our bi-annual Gala Evening, This role is unique, from the breadth of responsibilities, to the ownership it allows for an individual to flourish and grow in their role. 

We are looking for a confident, outgoing individual, comfortable in managing competing priorities and who is able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be energetic, flexible and reliable in their day to day activities, have a keen eye for detail and excellent writing and organisational skills. Responsibilities and Duties

• Support the management and delivery of fundraising events including multiple major donor events, challenge events, brand collaborations and others as required.

• Stakeholder management (charity co-founders, trustees, guests, donors and sponsors) relating to the fundraising events

• Liaise with external events and related suppliers to ensure LGF team and co-founder needs are aligned

• Responsible for managing communications to guests, participants, attendees, manage enquiries and volunteers

• Data management of donors across all events in CRM (Donorfy)

• Undertake admin and clerical tasks - e.g. mailings, send outs, phone/email enquiries etc…

• Alongside the Communications and Awareness officer provide copy and update for the events section of the website

• Manage event equipment and stock

• Attend events when required, including occasional weekends and evenings and provide support to the wider team when required.

• Support with marketing activities of events including social media and email campaigns

• Support with capturing content for the Lady Garden Foundation’s social media sites - Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok (possibly Twitter) as well as website, including support with writing blogs, posts and  multimedia content

Zarach is the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty in England, giving children the opportunity to engage at school and a chance to break the cycle of poverty.

Since we were formed in 2017, and registered as a charity in 2018, we have gone on to provide bed bundles to almost 9,000 children through our partnerships with schools who make referrals to us to support their most vulnerable children.

With over 4.3 million children in the UK living in poverty – including 1 million experiencing destitution and around 900,000 living in bed poverty – we have an aspiration to reach more children, in more areas of high need across the country.

To further develop our areas of activity, we are looking for an experienced and successful Trusts & Foundations professional to join our team. We are committed to building our capacity in this area of work so we can look to securing increased income from smaller and larger scale, local and national funders, and via one-off, single-year and multiple-year funding.
