The Project Support Officer will have the opportunity to support Heads of Functions and Project Managers within the Chief Executive Office whilst working on a variety of exciting strategic projects across the organisation.

The Alzheimer’s Society are in the middle of the Help and Hope Strategy and the Project Management Office are at the heart of delivering new and exciting strategic project and programmes in collaboration with other directorates across the organisation. You will have access to how strategic plans are planned, delivered and monitored. This is an excellent role for a candidate to have insight into what it takes to be a Project Manager in a complex organisation.
 
Ideally, you will have a thirst for knowledge and strong ability to develop solid working relationships with stakeholders and wider teams to help achieve our goals. You will have some knowledge and experience in project methodologies and producing project plans from start, all the way to completion. We are looking for someone who can articulate what project plans you have supported, what involvement did you have, telling the start, middle and end of your project journey.
 
You will be joining a team of experienced project management professionals in which there is an environment to be mentored and coached to develop your professional skill set. Your day to day duties will always be different, from shadowing senior managers in board meetings, to collating reports and updating project plans. You will have strong hand in supporting our wider teams so working collaboratively is key!

Purpose of the job

Your role is to develop and deliver all aspects of the Evidence Programme – from supervision of the Evidence Team to development and funding of projects and expanding the scope of the Evidence Program in line with Thames21’s 5-year plan.

Projects are centred on all forms of evidence – from technical and specialist (real time probes and development of models) to citizen science (biological, chemical and geomorphological data) – to inform and drive catchment decision making, including installation of nature-based treatment systems to mitigate pollution. Projects vary from local and national scale to international collaborations. Work is based in London, the Thames Basin and occasionally more widely in the UK and internationally.

Additional requirements may include supporting other Thames21 projects and funding applications, as the need arises.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will oversee and manage delivery of diverse Evidence Team projects. You will also develop your team’s scope, strategy and action plan in order to grow the team to deliver 5-year plan targets work closely with expert (e.g. statutory bodies, authorities, NGOs and academics) and non-expert (e.g. community groups and volunteers) stakeholders to develop, fund and deliver projects within the Evidence Programme and oversee their management.  You will also work closely with the Assistant Head of Improving Rivers and other members of the Thames21 team to develop funding applications and steer the direction of the Evidence Programme.

Tasks will include:

• Development and delivery of projects through the Evidence Programme on the themes of water quality, quantity, identification of suitable nature-based treatment solutions and their functioning after installation, landscape recovery and climate resilience.

• Managing project and programme budgets

• Management and Development of the Evidence Team – deadlines, appraisals, personal development, recruitment etc

•  Working with specialist equipment (sondes, models and software both commercially available and in the research phase), lab samples and citizen science techniques and methods to generate evidence around issues and solutions.

•  Working with the Assistant Head of Improving Rivers, other Thames21 teams and external partners to expand and develop the Evidence Programme in line with the 5-year plan through funding applications and networking.

•  Work outside in a riverside environment in a variety of weathers – alone, with team members, volunteers and professionals.

The Role

This is a dynamic new and exciting role which will play a key part in our strategy for development and growth at Link to Change. ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of Volunteering Manager will work to review and expand Concordia’s Volunteering programmes to ensure a variety of attractive opportunities both in the UK and abroad. They will ensure effective management and administration of all opportunities, initiate new partnerships with UK charities and hosts, and represent Concordia at international events and network meetings.

About the Operations and Facilities Assistant role

We are seeking an Operations and Facilities Assistant to work closely with the Senior Operations & Facilities Manager to ensure the effective and efficient running of the organisation’s administrative systems and day to day activities.

This role supports the work of the whole organisation – acting as our receptionist, as well as supporting on a wide range of administrative tasks across HR, systems, IT, and building management.

The Operations & Facilities Assistant will often be the first point of contact for the internal Helpdesk, playing a key role in responding effectively to enquiries, as well as supporting key projects within the Operations and Facilities team.

About the role:

We are looking for an ambitious, pro-active individual to join the operations team as we continue to lead the way in soil science at the forefront of the sector.

About the Role

Since the World Congress of Soil Science, which we hosted in Glasgow in 2022, the British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) is becoming increasingly recognised as the go-to organisation for evidence relating to soil.

This new post will deliver the Society’s activities around our policy work; producing draft guidance notes and consultation responses for our committees to comment on, working with policymakers and stakeholders to raise awareness of our members’ collective evidence-base and best practice knowledge.

You will work closely with the Executive Director to understand the Society’s priorities and support the delivery of our strategy by developing relevant guidance and policy projects, whilst horizon scanning to seek opportunities for the Society to have influence externally.

Your activities will make a demonstrable difference in raising awareness of the Society’s work amongst external stakeholders, leading to opportunities for collaboration and income generation.

There will be a requirement to coordinate work on behalf of the Society and to attend occasional conferences and events, throughout the year.

The role sits within the BSSS office in the School of Water, Energy and Environment.

 

About You

Educated to degree level or equivalent you will be an established Policy and Public Affairs professional, with good attention to detail, agile in approach with excellent communication and influencing skills. 

Passionate about the natural environment you will place the Society at the centre of debate, advocating best practice around soil science and land use management across government departments and cross sector actors. 

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of coordinating and delivering policy responses, working with internal and external stakeholders in the development of policy and projects, and raising awareness of an organisation’s profile with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers.

You must have the ability to assimilate complex policy topics quickly, a solid understanding of political and policy processes, and be an excellent communicator.

The ideal person will also have sound research and project management skills, along with experience working for a membership body, an established network and relevant knowledge of environment policy led issues.

What’s on offer:
Salary: £42,000
Working Pattern: 2 days per week at either the Brompton (Chelsea) or Harefield sites

The Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity raise money for some incredible initiatives, including cutting edge hospital equipment, dedicated clinical fellowships, patient funds, and mental health support for Long Covid patients.

This role will develop existing relationships with high-net-worth donors, as well as developing a broader major donor product offering including a patron’s programme and harnessing the potential of the hospital’s clinical networks. Key duties include:

• Developing relationships with new and existing High Net Worth Individuals to understand their motivations and desires to advance care for heart and lung patients.
• Account managing existing major donor relationships, giving at a 4-6 figure level.
• Supported by the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships, developing the major donor fundraising strategy and product offering including a patron’s programme and a suite of stewardship events.
• Managing a comprehensive prospect research process, working with hospital partners and internal colleagues to identify potential new supporters and develop a pipeline of new major donor fundraising opportunities.
• Working with grants and marketing teams to shape a series of compelling fundraising propositions.

We’re looking for someone with the following skills & experience:

• Experience of establishing and developing high-value relationships within a fundraising setting.
• Experience of supporting or establishing a new fundraising programme or strategy.
• Tangible experience of making high-value asks from supporters.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for networking and engaging new supporters.
• Knowledge and appreciation for the healthcare sector, with an interest in fundraising for medical research and treatment projects.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, the Senior Business Development Manager is a key member of the Partnerships team and a significant role in the Fundraising & Communications department.

We are recruiting for an experienced new business professional who has a proven track record of securing 6/7-figure partnerships with the corporate sector. The purpose of the role is to grow our portfolio of strategic high-value partnerships, securing funding and shared value opportunities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
