ASH Co-op is a thriving tenant-managed housing co-op in Cambridge. We have two part-time staff and are looking for a focused, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to take the role on to cover for maternity leave to start from late September. 

This is a varied front-line role involving collecting rent and taking enquiries, including maintenance requests and applications for membership. It also involves monitoring budgets, some basic accounting and general office administration. You must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel and will ideally have previous experience of housing work, or a similar office environment.

The successful applicant will be able to work Tuesdays and spread remaining hours across other weekdays between 8am-7pm when needed. The core office opening hours are 9.30am- 5pm. This role is being offered on a 13 month fixed contract.

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead on the charity's finances and accounts.

The Head of Finance has lead responsibility for overseeing the finance function of the organisation.  The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and works closely with the Board of Trustees and in particular with the Treasurer.  The post holder also has responsibility for the line management of the Finance Officer and the Feeding Service Administrator (Finance Team).

Working with SMT colleagues, this role leads on all financial reporting and analysis to the team and to the Trustee Board and Finance Committee, the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.

The Head of Finance leads the annual audit and preparation of the annual report and accounts working closely with the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Chair of Trustees. In addition, the role supports the wider team in compliance with financial policies and procedures and acts as Finance Business Partner by providing support and guidance to budget holders.

About the role

Travalyst is recruiting its first full-time COO. This is a broad role, supporting Travalyst’s CEO and a growing Executive Leadership team to enable delivery of this first-of-its-kind global initiative. Now in its 5th year, the Travalyst team and organisation is scaling quickly to drive progress and accelerate impact.

About you

You will be able to demonstrate a track record in successful organisational design and implementation, including the development of effective but adaptable systems and processes and their roll-out across a complex organisation with multiple partners and stakeholders. You will manage and lead on finance, governance and risk, ensuring that Travalyst is run according to the highest standards for a UK not-for-profit organisation. 

Proven scale-up operational experience, in a sustainability-focused organisation and/or a UK not-for-profit, is essential. Strong project management skills, enabling effective prioritisation and decision-making and excellence in delivery, would be of huge benefit in the role. 
 

Areas of responsibility: 

Governance, Legal & Risk

· Be accountable for governance structures and processes, including reviewing and revising governance documentation annually

· Ensure compliance with UK statutory and legal obligations 

· Support the Travalyst Board and CEO to ensure effective risk management and mitigation 

· Support CEO with preparation of Board packs and attend Board meetings as an Observer 

· Act as Company Secretary 

· Provide oversight of legal discussions and documentation, working with pro-bono legal team where needed

Financial Management

· Oversight of financial management and administration, including near and longer-term financial planning, modelling, and cash flow management

· Manage outsourced Finance Director, bookkeeper accountants and auditors for budgeting, statutory accounting, audit, payroll, and tax - and evolve the Finance function as the organisation scales

· Support the CEO on funder management, leading on financial and operational aspects of fundraising, including leading grant application processes, budgeting and grant reporting

HR and Organisational Design

· Oversight of HR management and administration, including resource planning and recruitment

· Managed outsourced HR and recruitment consultants on professional development, culture & engagement, employee lifecycle management and recruitment initiatives

· Evolve HR function as the organisation grows

· Oversee workforce planning and recruitment for new hires supported by outsourced HR

· Ensure compliance of all existing legal/ contractual agreements with employees, consultants and suppliers

Operations and Strategy

· Support the CEO on the development of Travalyst’s annual strategic planning and lead on the accompanying operational plan

· Support the CEO in managing Travalyst Coalition Partners, including acting as the relationship lead where required

· Lead on Travalyst’s procurement process and manage key supplier relationships including all contracts, policies, and procedures

· Support the team to evolve Travalyst’s operating model, develop and manage systems and processes to ensure successful delivery of ongoing workstreams and new projects or initiatives

Resourcing & Project Management

· Lead on development and implementation of project management and delivery processes, ensuring excellence in delivery across project teams

· Lead weekly touchpoints to prioritise resources and workload, and track progress against milestones

· Focus and role model excellence in delivery through strong project management skills and ways of working 

IT

· Lead the roll-out of new internal technology to support effective delivery 

· Act as data protection officer (DPO) for the organisation, providing oversight and following best practice and regulation with regards to information, governance, data protection and adherence with UK GDPR

Role Description

We are looking for a Corporate Engagement Administrator to support Veganuary’s work with established companies in the food sector in the UK and abroad. You will work closely with our International Corporate Engagement Management in the UK and provide project management support on an international level, working closely with our teams in Germany, Spain, the US, India and Latin America. We are looking for someone who is extremely organised, and a well-versed, skilled communicator. Experience and knowledge of the UK food sector, especially retail, foodservice and the restaurant sector, would be an advantage. You will play a crucial role in assisting Veganuary’s work encouraging and convincing companies to increase their vegan offerings, as well as encouraging workplaces to join the challenge and increase vegan offerings in their cafeterias.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage our Corporate Engagement project in Asana (project management platform) ensuring all press releases, communication and information relating to brands, retailers, restaurants, caterers, sponsors and other relevant businesses and organisations are up-to-date and organised in a user-friendly format. 
• Organise our international bi-weekly corporate calls including minute-taking. Facilitate the regular updating and adaptation of our corporate engagement materials and resources 
• Facilitate the evaluation and tracking of our corporate engagement successes by managing the set-up and completion of our “corporate tracker” via Excel
• Support and organise data management through our database on Salesforce
• With the support of the International Corporate Engagement Manager, liaise with UK businesses about their plant-based offerings to ensure the information on our website, social media channels and other resources are kept up-to-date
• With the support of the International Corporate Engagement Manager, help support businesses and organisations to take part in the Veganuary Workplace Challenge in the UK
• Organise corporate meetings and webinars and prepare presentations for stakeholders

Person Specification

• A good understanding of the operating environment of the food sector and corporates within it would be an advantage

Supporting and working alongside volunteers you’ll collaborate with colleagues in public affairs, policy, press, local teams and service improvement to make the voice of people with Parkinson’s heard with key decision makers.

• Line manage Local Campaign Officers and support them to develop impactful local campaigns which involve a diverse range of people with lived experience.
• Be a first point of contact for supporters and campaigners in the local area, who want to improve services in their local area.

About Furthering Talent

Furthering Talent helps musicians from the earliest stage in their musical journey. The programme is specifically designed to help young people from low income families sustain their musical learning after initial state-funded whole-class lessons end, so they can keep on progressing and playing music well into their teens and beyond. The programme aims to effect significant change in how the musical potential of young people from low-income families is identified and supported.

Place of work: Home-based and other locations as required. An ability to travel, often nationally, is essential to carry out this role. All reasonable travel expenses can be reclaimed.  

The role

You will be the first point of contact and support for the team of Connectors in your Hubs, attending Teachers’ Forums and Get Togethers where possible and helping with the coordination of data gathering and management. You will help drive the promotion of the Connector role and handle any incoming Connector enquiries via the Young Sounds website, allocating them to the appropriate Connector. You will oversee the mentoring and youth voice offer in each Hub. You will be a champion for Young Sounds’ musically inclusive approach throughout the sector and will support the promotion of Young Sounds’ CPD and learning resources, especially the Charanga hosted Individual Learning Plan.

Pancreatic Cancer Action are excited to be seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Supporter Care and Fundraising Co-Ordinator to join our fabulous Fundraising Team.  This is a varied role where no two days will be the same.

If you are a proactive individual with a positive can-do attitude who is passionate about making a difference, we would love to hear from you. Whether you are looking for an introduction into the world of fundraising or to build on your existing fundraising skills, this role will offer you the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience about different fundraising income streams, finance processing, CRM data and stewardship journeys.

Our incredible supporters are at the heart of all that we do at Pancreatic Cancer Action. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with our fantastic supporters daily. Providing them with the tools, knowledge and materials they need to help reach and exceed their fundraising targets. From head shaves to cake sales, dress-down days to extreme sports. You will be the first point of call for all fundraising enquiries and be on hand to provide bespoke stewardship support to ensure we develop long-lasting relationships with our PCA community, groups and companies across the UK.

 

Main responsibilities:  

• Provide admin and operational support to the Fundraising Team
• Accurately record and manage data using the Salesforce CRM system.
• Ensure that fundraisers and supporters get timely correspondents by email or phone.
• Inspire supporters through innovative new stewardship ideas, sending out relevant materials and offering support and advice to enhance their event/fundraising.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing supporters, helping them to exceed their fundraising targets and inspiring them to become life-long supporters.
• Update all event portals with fundraising details and complete the registration process on time.
• Monitor and input data from various fundraising platforms onto our Salesforce database to ensure accurate reporting on income from events/fundraising.
• Take ownership of fundraising tracker to ensure first class stewardship is provided to all supporters.
• Supporting community-based fundraising volunteers and groups.
• Work collaboratively with the fundraising and marketing team to ensure that email templates, cards and certificates remain up to date and relevant to our audiences.
• Work with the fundraising team to identify ways to surprise and delight our fundraisers and ultimately build long term relationships with a consistent approach.
• Support in the planning and implementation of fundraising events, products and campaigns
• Work across various fundraising streams such as community and events fundraising, Individual giving, In memory and corporate fundraising.

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.

We are looking for a Content Coordinator to join our small but dynamic communications team.

As CLAPA’s Content Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for publishing a steady stream of stories, blogs and other engaging content on our website and other platforms.

The UK cleft community is full of fantastic stories waiting to be told, and you’ll be there to sensitively support people of all backgrounds to share these stories with your insightful questions and top-notch editing abilities. You’ll be comfortable talking to everyone from school-age children to NHS cleft surgeons to get the kind of content that will inspire and engage our community.

You’ll be our go-to writer when a new resource needs to be drafted or edited, and you’ll enjoy the challenge of adapting your writing to different briefs and communicating complex ideas to people of all ages and abilities. This is a brand new role to meet rising demand within the team, so you will have a real opportunity to make the role ‘yours’. You’ll have the freedom to try new things, share ideas, learn from feedback, and work with others to solve problems. While you’re expected to be proactive in fulfilling key tasks, you’ll be fully trained and supported in every aspect of your work by the Head of Impact.

The CGD Society 

Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD) is a rare, life-limiting immune disorder, where children and adults get frequent bacterial and fungal infections, which can be serious and life-threatening.

The CGD Society is the primary resource for individuals facing a CGD diagnosis, offering essential information and support to families throughout their CGD journey. Our organisation is led by our dedicated and inspiring Executive Director who works tirelessly alongside our CGD Clinical nurse specialist, who is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital. While headquartered in the UK, we proudly support around 1,500 members across 77 countries, representing this global community with pride.

Key responsibilities

Community Fundraising 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase income through regular giving, donations, campaigns, legacy giving, corporate partnerships, and other fundraising initiatives. 

• Promote participation in major sporting and challenge events. 

• Provide supporters with the necessary materials and motivation to maximize their fundraising efforts for the CGD Society. 

• Send personal thank you letters and certificates to acknowledge donations and fundraising efforts promptly. 

• Address fundraising inquiries. 

• Maintain regular communication with key fundraisers and stakeholders. 

• Attend events to support participants when appropriate. 

Corporate Sponsorship and Partnerships 

• Establish and cultivate relationships with companies to secure sponsorships for various projects, fundraising events, and other funding opportunities. 

• Form alliances within the charity sector to achieve shared fundraising objectives and create more appealing sponsorship proposals. 

Grant fundraising 

• If funding permits a three-day working week, with training and development, prepare and submit persuasive funding applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations to boost our core income. 

• Develop with the Exec Director a rolling strategy for such applications, building relationships with funders and defining compelling funding targets. 

Digital Marketing 

• Lead the development and execution of social media content to increase awareness and income, utilizing optimal methods to reach target audiences and drive engagement. 

• Serve as a "brand guardian," ensuring consistent, cohesive, and well-thought-out messaging, tone, and appearance across all internal and external communications. 

• Source and maintain a repository of up-to-date case studies, photos, and videos on life with CGD, transforming these into media-ready stories for social media, newsletters, the website, and reports. 

• Create and distribute regular newsletters using Mailchimp and other communication tools for members. 

• Manage the CGD Society website (WordPress), ensuring it is regularly updated and engaging for our beneficiaries, collaborating with external suppliers as needed. 

Support for Executive Director 

• Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director detailing donations, fundraising activities, and marketing KPIs. 

• Managing enquires during annual leave 

• Support for events, such as the CGD Society family weekends 

• Potential opportunity to progress role beyond fundraising with support from the Executive Director

Person specification 

​Must have skills 

• Experience working within a fundraising or digital marketing environment demonstrating a track record of maintaining and growing income for supporters and/or organisations. 

• Excellent supporter care experience knowing what is necessary to deliver a high-quality service to supporters and/or fundraisers. 

• Expert knowledge, experience, and confidence in developing and delivering creative and engaging social media content across a wide variety of channels. 

• Ability to create engaging graphic content using Adobe/Canva software. 

• Demonstrate empathy, active listening and effective verbal and written communication skills. 

• Copywriting – To have good written English with a flair for creative writing. You should be able to demonstrate examples of copywriting engaging, original and persuasive content.

• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), keyword research and Google Analytics. 

• Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• To be happy to work independently and be suitably motivated and organised to work from home. 

• Be strongly motivated in supporting those affected by CGD, whether through your own personal experience or professional interests.

Nice to have  

• Understanding and improving the effectiveness of Google AdWords to drive website traffic. 

• Competency with Microsoft 365 & SharePoint. 

• Experience or knowledge of a rare genetic condition would be advantageous but is not a requirement. 

• Generating income by writing compelling and impactful applications to funders and grant providers. 

You will be an essential addition to a supportive Finance and Operations team. It is essential that you have experience of general accounting skills and be comfortable working to different deadlines. The successful candidate will be an analytical, intelligent accountant who will provide high quality support for a range of teams across the organisation. You will have the ability and communication skills to build strong working relationships at all levels across the organisation and particularly with non-finance staff. The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience working in a similar role and preferably be part qualified. They will also be a forward thinking and proactive individual who is willing to take part in a variety of activities in order to maintain a stable work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Finance team with monthly bank reconciliation statements for UK bank accounts as required
• Process supplier invoices and staff expense claims
• Assist in the preparation of sales invoices and monthly debtor ageing reports
• Process monthly credit card expenditure and undertake monthly reconciliation of accounts in QuickBooks.
• Support the processing of internet and cheque donations
• Posting of UK monthly journals (Accruals/prepayments, Payroll etc.)
