About the role 

The Ambassador and Media Relations Manager is key to amplifying the work of Help Musicians and its sister charity, Music Minds Matter, through external communications.

This role will grow our audiences by aligning high-profile voices with our marketing campaigns, press opportunities and communications strategies, consistently increasing the reach of the two charities. It also supports the understanding of our work by identifying media opportunities to tell our stories through opinion editorials, awards submissions features, and press releases in collaboration with our agency.

The Ambassador and Media Relations Manager will engage with influential voices who align with our cause, work and messaging and amplify our stories through the media and our owned channels. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to keep our ambassadors informed and engaged in our work as well as identifying and onboarding new voices who can champion our cause and grow our audience.

About you 

We are looking for a dynamic professional who combines media expertise, interpersonal skills, and a strategic approach to drive impactful communication.

As a skilled communicator, you will have a strong background in media relations, including pitching stories to journalists, crafting press releases, and preparing briefings for both media and staff. Your ability to turn complex data into digestible insights tailored to specific audiences sets you apart. You will have worked closely with musicians and/​or industry leaders, building strong relationships through interpersonal skills.

Your communication skills extend to both written and verbal domains, being adept at report writing, public speaking, and delivering engaging presentations.

Whilst not essential, our ideal candidate may also have a strong understanding of the music industry and its networks, along with a useful contact book.

About LMK

Good relationships shape our health and happiness, yet we are taught so little about them. LMK (Let Me Know) is on a mission to change that. We are a young and thriving charity providing education about healthy and unhealthy behaviours so that young people have the knowledge and skills to avoid abuse and thrive in their relationships. We work in schools, community organisations and workplaces across London.

LMK is growing at pace and we are ambitious in our plans for the future. We’ve already engaged 15,000 young people and professionals in our workshops in our first 4 years and we want to reach 10,000 young people per year by 2025-26.

Job Purpose

This is a new role, joining a small and growing Fundraising Team, with responsibility for proactively leading the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, grant-making trusts, and corporate supporters, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.

You will build and maintain lasting relationships with LMKs valued funders, thinking strategically and working closely with programme delivery colleagues to develop fundraising cases of support and impact reporting.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising & Development, the successful candidate will join LMK’s core staff team, and will have a real input into our plans and strategies for the future by working with LMK staff, LMK Leaders (youth workers who deliver our workshops to young people), members of our Youth Advisory Board and trustees to develop and implement our long-term strategy.

Key responsibilities:

● Develop and deliver a structured and dynamic plan to engage high-value donors, trusts and corporate supporters.

● Understand supporter motivations, identifying opportunities across the Charity that inspire and engage, enabling supporters to achieve their fundraising goals.

● Work closely with colleagues to develop inspiring fundraising cases for support and impact reporting.

● Undertake prospect research, identifying prospective new funders for LMK

● Meet with and present to potential and existing funders with passion, enthusiasm and professionalism. 

● Manage funder relationships, ensuring that they are kept informed of progress, key milestones and future opportunities to support the charity, and that they are thanked and thoughtfully stewarded, in order to maximise retention, and increase levels of support over time. 

● Influence and shape project development and impact measurement by ensuring major funder needs are taken into account

● Work with colleagues to monitor the progress of grant-funded projects, ensuring that obligations are fulfilled within the terms of the grant wherever possible and informing funders in a timely fashion of any significant deviations from projections. 

● Proactively seek out feedback from funders where appropriate, share insights with the team and use this to inform LMK practice.

● Ensure all activities are legally compliant, in keeping with our values and adherent to due diligence and our Acceptance or Refusal of Donations Policy.

● Ensure that information relating to funders is appropriately recorded in CRM systems, accurate and adheres to data protection guidelines.

● Provide regular reports and information to the Head of Fundraising & Development on your progress against plan, targets and income generated.

● Comply with our policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, complaints and data protection.

Person specification

● A proven ability to work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for funding through extensive research

● Experience of providing excellent relationship management and stewardship resulting in increased levels of financial support from partners

● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

● Thorough understanding of legal and charity regulations in relation to fundraising

● Skilled in identifying and developing creative, high-quality cases for support, funding proposals and impact reporting in collaboration with others

● Strong MS Office/Google knowledge, numerate, comfortable with data

● Highly organised to manage a diverse workload with excellent time management and ability to pay attention to detail.

● A knowledge of the Violence Against Women and Girls sector, Education sector or working with young people would be preferable, although not essential.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024). You will manage a team of up to two with the support from the Head of Fundraising, with whom you will work closely with to develop a series of targeted multi-channelled appeals and campaigns to engage with existing supporters and to attract, recruit and retain new ones.

You will be confident in handling and interrogating data, utilising your experience to deliver insight led creative campaigns across several channels. You will use data to test and learn through the delivery of persuasive and compelling appeals and campaigns - aiming to grow supporter loyalty and inspire repeat donations.

The delivery of exceptional supporter care and stewardship is paramount in this role, the post holder will require excellent communication skills to help deepen engagement strategies with supporters and work with an ambitious, positive, and creative approach - with experience in working collaboratively organisation wide.

Key responsibilities
Planning and implementation
• Increase individual gifts through enhancing the supporter donor journey.
• Develop new individual giving appeals and campaigns with a focus on direct marketing across various channels to engage with new and existing supporters to generate new income.
• Working with the communications team to design a multi-channelled approach to maximise the reach to the appropriate audiences.
• Develop the required tools and mechanisms to ensure ease of engagement.
• Design and implement a stewardship programme that cultivates long term support across all fundraising streams.
• Work across teams to raise the profile of the charity and its appeals and fundraising activities.

• Develop new ideas and initiatives to bolster individual giving.
• Grow in memoriam donations through selected partnerships and long-term relationships that raise the profile of Kidney Care UK within the sector.

Donor data analysis and segmentation
Analyse and segment the supporter base to develop targeted supporter journeys and ask strategies, using donor data from our CRM to:
• Maximise the lifetime value of donors.
• Ensure effective use of supporter data for campaign purposes.
• Manage a continuous cycle of testing for new channels and techniques for acquisition and retention, based on audience insight and sector trends.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to produce regular feedback reports and analysis.
• Ensure all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM system.
• Maximise gift aid opportunities.

Stewardship and donor engagement
Manage donor stewardship to provide personalised and engaging communications, including:
• Managing the production of supporter materials.
• Building a thanking programme that offers a personal and engaging donor experience.
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify individual stories for impactful campaign content.

Competencies: knowledge, skills and experience

• Experience of income generation from direct marketing campaigns (acquisition and/or retention) across a variety of digital channels for acquisition and retention.
• Experience of project management to deliver acquisition or retention campaigns within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Experience of using databases for targeting, segmentation, testing and response analysis and how to apply these learnings to future campaigns.
• Knowledge of Charity Law, Data Protection, Fundraising Code of Practice, and other relevant marketing or fundraising standards across the UK.

A great personality and team ethic are really important in this role as you will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.

The North West region (made up of Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside & Greater Manchester) is filled with some of our most committed supporters and there is so much opportunity to grow our supporter base across the region. Our Social Workers and Manchester Home from Home support families from across the region and beyond, and building relationships with this team is a must.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Partnership Manager to join our team. The Partnership Manager will play a crucial role in building and nurturing strategic relationships with stakeholders, organisations, and community sport and physical activity clubs groups.

The main responsibilities of this role are: 

Relationship Management 

• To act as the lead and relationship manager with partners on behalf of Think Active Lead, or support on the development of local partnerships and networks promoting collaboration across all relevant sectors 

• Raise awareness of funding opportunities available to increase participation in sport and physical activity. 

• Lead, or support on the development of local place partnerships that align multiple agendas with partners from across different sectors and advocate for the benefits of physical activity. 

Project Management 

• To act as the lead for Sport England and other projects and initiatives managed by Think Active. 

• High quality Project Management that ensures projects aims are clear, that they are delivered on time and on budget and in line with our values. 

• Effective delivery of the Think Active. #WeThinkActive Strategy, through your contribution as a team member of Think Active and with and through partners. 

• Tangibly contribute to the increase participation in sport and physical activity and address wider social needs through creative and innovative approaches and partnerships. 

• Seek out opportunities to generate income and contribute to Think Active business development and income generation targets both for the organisation and for local partners. 

• Use robust data and insight to co-design, implement and evaluate innovative. 

• Prepare detailed reports; including performance and financial in relation to your work.

• Adhere to GDPR and data protection through your planning, implementation and communication. 

Financial Management 

• Plan, implement and in accordance with funding guidance, financial procedures, and policies, take responsibility for diversifying Think Active’s income streams through in line with the strategy and business development plan 

• Project and budget management (up to c£300,000) including forecasting, monitoring of income and expenditure, plus the submission of financial reporting 

Demonstrating Impact 

Reporting progress and capturing value through case studies and evaluation processes designed to evidence the impact targets. Story telling – the ability to articulate the impact and value of Think Active (locally, regionally, nationally across various sectors) 

Marketing and Communications  

• Contribute to Think Active’s Active Societies objective by aligning projects and work align with and enhance the work of the Marketing and Communications Lead. 

• By building partnerships and brand visibility you will play an important role in enhancing Think Active’s marketing and communications efforts by strategically cultivating and managing partnerships. This includes developing and implementing joint marketing campaigns with partners to elevate Think Active (and our partners and funders) brand visibility.

• You will collaborate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to create compelling narratives that showcase the impact of our projects and initiatives, driving awareness and engagement.

• By leveraging partnerships, the Partnership Manager will contribute to positioning Think Active in promoting health and well-being through innovative and impactful physical activity projects, initiatives and collaborations. 

About the role

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Business Development team as our Partnerships Executive. This is a full time, 12 month fixed term, position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will working flexibly between home and our office in King's Cross, London.

This role will play a key part in achieving the Corporate Partnerships strategy, which is at an exciting point as Sense expands its programmes to reach more people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities. Sense is committed to developing our Corporate Partnerships Portfolio and have identified corporate income as a strong growth area for the charity. The successful candidate will be working within the Philanthropy & Partnerships team which consists of philanthropy, trusts and foundations, and statutory funding, contributing over £3m to support programmes across the UK. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the initiative to expand Sense’s ‘talks and training’ offerings by establishing and maintaining relationships with EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) professionals and leaders of corporate staff networks.
• Assist Partnership Managers in the day-to-day management and nurturing of existing corporate partnerships, ensuring consistent support and service delivery aligns with Sense’s strategic goals.
• Conduct weekly research to identify corporate foundations and charity of the year opportunities, lead the application process, and support partnership managers by strengthening their pipelines.

You’ll have innovative ideas to help us to secure new partnerships and nurture new and existing relationships to mobilise local giving. As an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts or corporate partnerships at the four figure level, you’ll have a can-do attitude and a capability for developing strong networks and contacts.

You will be outcome orientated and a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills too.

Experience

• At least three years of proven successful experience in major gifts or corporate partnerships fundraising of four figures or more.
• Proven ability to manage and develop diverse relationships.
• Excellent written and oral English language communication skills.
• Experience in writing and delivering persuasive copy for supporters.
• Thorough understanding of data protection and, specifically, UK GDPR requirements pertaining to fundraising and sponsorship work.
• Full understanding of fundraising guidelines the code of fundraising practice.
• Experience of using Salesforce or a similar CRM.

Essential skills

Kingston CF launched as an independent charity in January 2021, following eight successful years as local community fundraising project, Love Kingston.
