About the role
As a Relationship Fundraising Team Manager at Macmillan, you’ll step into a rewarding leadership role where your impact is immediate and meaningful. You’ll lead a team of passionate and experienced Fundraising Relationship Managers & Officers who are deeply committed to making a difference for people living with cancer while delivering income targets and growing long term supporter value.
A unique and exciting aspect of this role is your involvement in the High Value Events Leadership Team, where you’ll play a key role in planning and shaping one of Macmillan’s flagship events - York Race Day. This £500k, two-day event is the largest charitable race day in the UK, having raised over £10 million to date. Your leadership will help ensure its continued success and innovation, offering an exceptional opportunity to be part of something truly special.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on team leadership and income delivery, giving you the chance to shape fundraising delivery across the North East, Yorkshire, and Cumbria and directly contributing to the wider development of the Relationship Fundraising Strategy.
At its heart, this role exists to help ensure that everyone living with cancer gets the support they need. Every supporter relationship your team nurtures, every event delivered, and every pound raised contributes directly to helping people affected by cancer live as fully as they can. About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Proven Leadership and People Management Experience - providing regular coaching, performance management and development opportunities.
Experienced in driving income delivery and achieving Key Performance Indicators - leading, supporting and motivating your team to maximise results
Experienced in strategic planning - ability to to identify opportunities for growth, collaboration and innovation in fundraising.
Proven stakeholder management experience - with the ability to communicate, influence and negotiate at all levels.
This role is home-based with mobile working as you can expect to work across the region to meet with your team and supporter’s face to face approximately 1 to 2 days a month. As such, you must have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle or the ability to travel frequently across the region.

You’ll have knowledge of a relational database, excellent attention to detail and be skilled and comfortable in building good working relationships.
The role also includes providing excellent service and delivery of supporter care and thanking supporters promptly and appropriately.

The Role
With a strong focus on stewardship, you’ll manage a portfolio of supporters, create tailored engagement opportunities, and deliver compelling cases for support that inspire long-term giving. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a joined-up, strategic approach to relationship fundraising. Your ability to communicate with clarity and warmth, alongside a deep understanding of what motivates Christian supporters, will be key to growing support and maximising impact.
About You
You will have proven experience of developing high-value relationships with donors (individuals) and a track record of success in soliciting major gifts in excess of £5k or transferable skills gained in a similar role with equally demanding relationship-based targets.
With knowledge of the principles of relationships fundraising to include identification, research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major and mid-level donors, you will have experience of working autonomously and effectively with people at senior or Board level.

The Volunteer Relationship Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimising the volunteer programme within the College of Paramedics.
With a focus on enhancing volunteer relationships and strengthening organisational capabilities, you will lead strategic initiatives to help to create a positive, productive, and rewarding experience for volunteers while maximising their contribution to our strategic objectives.

5. Compliance, Policy Development, and Governance
- Develop and implement fundraising policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Stay up to date with fundraising laws and best practices, ensuring all activities meet Charity Commission, GDPR, and financial regulations.
- Ensure that data protection regulations are upheld in all fundraising activities, particularly regarding donor records and CRM management.
6. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure that fundraising messages align with Diocesan values and the Mission Plan.

7. Meeting Attendance and Reporting

The Role
We are recruiting for a Community Fundraising Manager to join our Fundraising team. The role will be instrumental in the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and building fundraising partnerships across a range of community audiences, including youth and education, sports clubs, community groups and individuals doing their own activities. You will be responsible for growing our existing community products such as Turn Cricket Red as well as introducing new products and initiatives to generate growth in Community Fundraising. Part of a small team, you will develop key relationships within the RSF network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.

In early 2018, Ruth Strauss, the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, was diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. Ruth died on December 29th 2018; she was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.
