Our mission is to supports adults, young people and children living with long-term neurological conditions and/or neuro diversities to access specialist therapies, support, and information in a safe, supportive environment to help them improve their physical and mental well-being.
The Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre, located in mid-Cornwall, is a Cornish charity providing a place of support, therapy, information, and community for people living with a long-term neurological condition and/or those who are neurodiverse. We give financial assistance to our beneficiaries in the form of subsidised specialist therapies. Our purpose built, fully accessible Centre, opened in 2009 and offers physiotherapy; exercise classes; Ayres’ Sensory Integration (ASI) therapy (a discipline of Occupational Therapy), and oxygen therapy. The Primrose Hydrotherapy Pool facility, which was built in the grounds, opened in 2019, providing both individual and group hydrotherapy sessions.
Living with a long-term health condition brings many challenges, not just for those diagnosed, but also for family members. Symptoms can affect physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological health. For our clients who have sensory processing difficulties, due to being neurodivergent, everyday situations and relationships can be perplexing and taxing.
Our main aims are to improve the health and well-being of our community; help people manage their symptoms and situations; and support their main care giver, often a family member. Services are delivered by a highly experienced team, with a broad range of skills and experience in delivering specialist therapies.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as the Business Development Officer with a commercial sales focus. This role requires a unique blend of fundraising expertise and commercial acumen to drive our vision forward.
Additionally, this role will focus on developing commercial sales strategies to generate revenue through partnerships, sponsorships, and product sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both fundraising and sales, with a proven track record of achieving targets and building lasting relationships.

About you

Identify, cultivate and manage corporate accounts. Working with the wider Income Generation team, ensure strong stewardship and fulfilment of marketing returns for each corporate account.

Plan and attend fundraising and engagement events within the community

Identify and attend networking meetings to educate and inform local business about our charities aims, missions and objectives, and opportunities for supporting our charity.

Seek out new partnerships that could be beneficial to our charity

Woking with the Marketing Manager, support in the creation of marketing for engagement, communication, and fulfilment for corporate accounts.

In liaison with the marketing manager provide support with social media, creating content for platforms such as LinkedIn.

Attend and speak at a variety events to promote the charity and engage with potential corporate accounts

Locate and enrol our charity in business incentives i.e. Charity of the Year.

Deliver tours of the centre to supporters autonomously.

To assist the Income Generation Team in delivering against their financial and non-financial targets as specified within the corporate fundraising strategy.

Be an outstanding advocate for the Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre in line with the core values of the organisation.

To act as a spokesperson for the charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate

Attend and support events run by the fundraising teams where required.

Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity’s work, priorities and future plans, acting as a spokesperson for the Charity when required

Desirable skills and experience

Overall Purpose of the Head of Research
The Philanthropy and Trusts Manager is an exciting new role at Guts UK and will be integral to delivering our new fundraising strategy, enabling us to grow our income to meet our ambitious strategic aims.
- You will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, developing, engagement, stewardship and retaining key relationships with trust and foundations in line with Guts UK’s strategic framework.

Key accountabilities among others include:
Strategy
- Support country programmes in developing fundraising, donor and consortium partner strategies from a deep understanding of how to position WA’s programmes within the current donor marketplace
Pipeline development and management:
- Be responsible for growing and monitoring the pipeline of relevant funding opportunities to WA country programmes, coordinating with fundraising members to communicating donor intelligence, ensuring a balanced portfolio of funding types and ambition.
- Provide strategic support to the sign on of larger funding opportunities, ensuring that WA country teams are supported to negotiate favourable positions within consortia and are able to effectively assess and mitigate for delivery risk
- Support the improvement of cost recovery in restricted funding contracts through supporting country teams to communicate and negotiate with donors
Funding skills and capabilities development:
- Monitor the fundraising skills, capabilities and investment levels within country teams, and support the development of both funding focused roles and the capability of country Senior Management Teams to engage with donors and develop funding propositions
- Play a leading role in co-creating and embedding business processes, systems, and policies for restricted funding
- Build confidence in pursuing different funding modalities, including commercial contracts through accompanying country teams in the development of complex and novel bidding approaches (with the support of global teams and consultants)
Leadership and Line management
- Responsible for working with a high-performing team of Country Funding Leads and Donor Relationship Leads across the globe. The Regional Business Development Manager will contribute to strategic and operational planning processes; define and deliver an agreed set of team performance targets; and providing guidance, coaching and support in helping peers achieve optimum performance.
- Responsible for the matrix management of the Heads of Funding and Business Development at the country level.
- Lead on promotion of the cross country and regional learning and best practices on business development and bid development and management.
To be successful, you will need the following:
- Master’s Degree level qualification in international development, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors such as USAID, EC, UK Government, International Financial Institutions such as the WB, AfDB, local and international corporates, trust and foundations such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation etc.
- Substantial experience and knowledge of the institutional funding space and a deep understanding of bilateral and multilateral donors’ routes to market
- Demonstrable track record of developing and delivering on strategies for restricted income growth.
- Strategic networker with the ability to identify and transform opportunities into tangible results
- Ability to work in a flexible and agile way to identify opportunities and address challenges
- Ability to take complex information and simplify for audiences
- Being bilingual will be an asset

As a CRM Project Data Lead, you will support the successful migration of data to our new Dynamics 365 platform on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract. In this role, you'll collaborate with internal teams and external delivery partners to ensure a smooth and accurate transfer of data.
Your key responsibility will be leading the data migration process, from mapping and cleaning data, to ensuring it aligns with our new CRM structure. You'll work closely with our delivery partner to transform data from Raiser's Edge into Dynamics 365, ensuring all data is correctly mapped and validated before migration. Part of your role will involve minimising disruptions during any downtime and advising on potential risks or training gaps that may arise throughout the project.
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the migrated data, checking for losses, inaccuracies, or duplications, and developing a robust recovery plan for the migration process. You will also work alongside our delivery partner to carry out thorough testing and validation to ensure the data transfer is accurate and meets the needs of the organisation.
Additionally, you'll support the documentation of data structures and migration processes, keeping stakeholders informed of any data changes or updates. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will provide advice to guide data-led decision-making throughout the project.
This role also involves supporting team training on data standards and the use of Dynamics 365, helping the organisation transition to the new system smoothly.

What are we looking for?
Experience within a Data Lead or Data Manager role and a strong background in CRM migration projects, ideally involving Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Your experience working on large-scale CRM implementations with third-party delivery partners will be essential, as will your ability to manage data validation and ensure a smooth transition to the new platform.
You'll need excellent analytical skills to interpret data and resolve complex issues, alongside strong organisational and project management abilities. Collaboration and communication skills are key, as you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve successful outcomes.

The Role
You will lead the Trusts and Foundations income generation across projects, supported by the Director of Development and Head of Development, to secure grants for the organisations and its work. You will effectively develop funding partnerships and relationships aligned to the strategic priorities. You will manage and deliver the whole cycle of trusts and foundations income generation, including regular prospecting, producing impactful funder reports and maintaining our CRM system.

You will be an experienced Trusts fundraiser and an excellent writer, experienced at telling engaging stories and building persuasive cases for support. Driven and highly self-motivated, you will have a proven track record of securing significant grants (five figures and above) and experience of working with a range of trusts and foundations, including large institutional funders.

The role
You’ll be key to delivering our corporate partnerships income strategy, identifying and driving vital new business as well retaining longer term support from priority sectors. Who are we looking for?

The role will manage a small team, and you will provide leadership and support to the team. We are seeking candidates who are hands on and flexible who can work autonomously and be self-driven. As this is a small and fast-growing charity, the role will be broad in nature and fast changing. Ideally you will be accustomed to and comfortable in this scenario. There will be some travel nationally and internationally when needed. Experience working in the charitable sector or knowledge of fundraising in the international development/environment sector would be a bonus however it is not essential for the role.

About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee the day to management of the charity, ensure effective fundraising activity, provide support for the Board of Trustees and facilitate the smooth running of the charity. As part of this you will ensure the accounts are prepared in a timely way with the assistance of our book keeper and accountants. You will also work with our web-designer to ensure the website is kept up to date and the annual charity report and return are prepared and submitted on-time.
You will oversee all fundraising activity including maintaining existing campaigns and our CRM system, and provide excellent stewardship to supporters, responding to enquiries, thanking them in a timely manner and supporting supporters with their fundraising activities. The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will focus on increasing donations from individual supporters. Working closely with the Head of Development and CEO, you'll be responsible for growing donation schemes for individual supporters, stewarding major donors, delivering public fundraising appeals and promoting opportunities for supporters to make gifts in wills.
