Chapter One is a growing charity dedicated to ensuring every child has access to one-to-one reading support at the time they need it most.
Our innovative Online Reading Volunteers Programme aims to support 3,300 children facing disadvantage during the 2024-25 academic year, pairing five to eight-year-old children with reading support volunteers from over 140 local and national businesses. About the role
With ambitious targets to support thousands more children by 2029, Chapter One is seeking a passionate, energetic Fundraising Officer to be an integral part of our Fundraising team. Reporting to our Trusts & Foundations Manager, you’ll generate income from a range of existing and new trusts and foundations, along with individual fundraising activities to contribute towards the 2024-25 fundraising target of £278,000, rising to £348,000 in 2025-26 in which you’ll have an individual target.
This new role is ideal for an early career professional who can write creative, compelling bids and build impactful relationships to make your mark in a fast-growing charity which is flexible and agile. You’ll be a proactive, determined self-starter and have high standards for yourself and others. You’ll develop and manage a funding pipeline by investing in thorough research and relationship cultivation, and you will thrive in working with funders, partners and supporters on a day -to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the fundraising plan
● Work collaboratively with the Trusts & Foundations Manager to grow Chapter One’s fundraising portfolio and meet agreed income targets from trusts and foundations.
● Maintain a portfolio of existing trusts and foundations, ensuring an excellent cultivation and stewardship journey in order to build relationships and maximise income.
● Proactively identify and research new prospective trust funders, finding creative ways to engage with them to secure support.
● Create compelling and tailored fundraising applications and reports, ensuring there is a strong emotional case for support and accuracy, to inspire prospects and supporters across trusts and foundations.
● Contribute to the highest levels of donor care for supporters, including creative stewardship, adhering to all grant conditions and responding in a timely manner to all enquiries from supporters and prospects.
● Research, interpret and present data about literacy and impact that makes a compelling case for Chapter One’s programmes.
● Contribute to internal planning and budget setting for restricted and unrestricted activities, setting out clear plans and a pipeline for income generation from trusts and foundations.
● Work with the Trusts & Foundations Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to support the development of strategies and campaigns to grow individual giving from existing volunteers and supporters.
● Undertake administrative duties to support the delivery of individual fundraising initiatives including matched-giving campaigns and Payroll Giving.
● Work closely with the Trusts & Foundations Manager, Business Development Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to ensure a cohesive approach and maximise all fundraising opportunities.

● Oversee and maintain specific fundraising administrative processes, including
recording of activity on the Salesforce CRM and internal databases.
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks, and developments across the sector.

● Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, producing verbal and written reports for senior management as required.

Job Purpose
The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the CEO to execute the fundraising strategy for Child’s i Foundation, with a focus on driving regular giving, community fundraising, and individual giving initiatives. Additionally, you will support the CEO in cultivating major gifts and managing corporate partnerships.
You will play a key role in providing collaborative support to our emerging fundraising effort in Uganda, particularly with their innovative 'Giving Circle' programme, which is backed by the Ugandan Board. Working closely with the communications team in Uganda, you will help deliver impactful campaigns that raise awareness and inspire donor engagement. 1. Community Fundraising and Regular Giving:

The Role
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will act as a source of fundraising expertise in the Direct Marketing and wider development team, as well as the global Development and Marketing teams. Lead on devising a digital strategy that will maximise supporter engagement and acquisition, and thus grow individual giving income, with the input of the Direct Marketing Manager
Mercy Corps Europe's fundraising team is in a growth phase and there are many opportunities to innovate. About the Role
As Supporter Development Officer, you will deliver campaigns and activities for the Supporter Development side of the Individual Giving team, successfully managing the supporter development activity in line with the agreed annual targets and the Fundraising Strategy. Introduction and background
The Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) was founded in 2011 by people with lived experience, healthcare professionals, and organisations who understood the impact of perinatal mental problems and shared a commitment to improving the lives of women and their families.
Today, the MMHA is a UK-wide charity and network of over 130 member organisations. We work with parents, families, clinicians, and academics to ensure all women, birthing people, babies, and families have access to high-quality, compassionate mental health care. We bring the perinatal mental health community together and make change happen by combining the power of real-life experience with clinical and professional expertise.
We actively contribute to significantly improving mental health outcomes for people who experience discrimination, trauma and deprivation during the perinatal period and tackle systemic inequity and injustice.
We are now seeking a Chief Executive to take over from our interim CEO and lead the MMHA in the next stage of our development.
We have recently been awarded a 5-year grant by the National Lottery Community Fund to tackle maternal mental health inequities through community action. This project, due to start in Spring 2025, will develop, test and replicate a model of community-based decision making, support and service provision that is led by women with lived experience. This project aims to achieve system change locally and nationally to improve the mental health of marginalised women and is the next phase of the MMHA’s programme to tackle maternal mental health inequities across the UK. This will be our biggest piece of work over the next five years and will dovetail with other activities aimed at achieving our mission, where funding allows.

Leadership and strategy
- To provide clear strategic and inspirational leadership to the MMHA To drive the MMHA forward into the next stage of its development

Governance, finance and compliance

Communications and external affairs

In this temporary position, the Program Officer will fill a unique, multi-faceted role that offers the opportunity to leverage their program management experience to help lead a complex global coalition at the intersection of human rights and technology. This is a temporary position, maternity leave cover, with an expected end date of April 15, 2026. This position will support a global Internet freedom initiative that will support local civil society, independent media, and human rights defenders to better prevent and respond to digital repression in their own contexts, particularly in repressive contexts. The activity focuses on building long-term, local resilience among civil society through a networked approach involving global, regional, and local actors. The activity provides technical assistance on digital security, digital governance advocacy and engagement, censorship circumvention, and holistic legal, psychosocial, and physical security support.
Under the guidance of the Deputy Chief of Party and in coordination with the larger project team (including the Advisors and Chief of Party), the Program Officer will oversee the implementation of activities, ensuring strong coordination with other project objectives, and compliance with USAID and Internews policies. The Program Officer will work closely with project partners, support internal coordination efforts, and be responsible for effectively sharing the impact and successes of the program. Further, the Program Officer will support, when needed, the business development, start up and oversight of related Associate Awards and Buy-Ins.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties upon request:
Program/Project Management:
- Provide project management and program implementation oversight, strategic planning, analysis, personnel, grants, procurement and finance tasks as needed.
- Serve as primary point of contact for regional and local partners

- Ensure all funder approval request packages are complete and ready to be sent by the COP/DCOP.
- Oversee all administrative aspects of the Civic DEFENDERS digital governance activities, in coordination with the COP, DCOP and Business Management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Key Strategic Deliverables will include the following:
· Lead on strategic financial management of Internews Europe, promoting effective and efficient processes to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organisation.

Finance Department operations Specific duties with support from the Finance Team will include the following:
· Management of the Finance Team, providing effective leadership and creating an environment where Finance staff can learn and develop professionally
· Oversight of core accounting processes including cash-flow planning and management, accounts payable and receivable, and analysis of the balance sheet debtors and creditors
· Management of the relationship for resource sharing and associated accounting transactions arising with the other entities in the Alliance network to facilitate combined management/programmatic reporting when required, while ensuring sufficient financial controls to ensure distinct financial reporting and protection of separate legal entity status.
· Oversight of international banking processes (GBP and foreign currency, income and payments) and Treasury management to minimise organisational risk and negative foreign exchange valuations.
· Primary holder of the Banking relationship, including monitoring banking arrangements in international offices
· Co-ordinate the monthly payroll process with HR colleagues and the external payroll bureau
Oversight of subsidiary financial processes
· Currently Internews Europe has two subsidiaries, Internews International (II) based in France and Internews Media Development based in Ireland, currently dormant.
· Oversight of financial processes including relevant controls, policies and procedures
· Oversight of financial reporting in accordance with relevant GAAP and regulatory requirements.
· Monitor local regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with relevant tax and reporting and audit requirements
Key Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance
· Primary advisor to SMT of ramifications of strategic decisions, including financial, tax and other regulatory impacts
· Input to strategic development initiatives regarding appropriate application of donor funding mechanisms and utilization of subsidiaries.
· Ensure compliance with the UK regulatory regime and with the requirements of our principal funders and other supporters
· Lead responsibility for ensuring the maintenance and regular review of all statutory and best practice policies and procedures, staff training and socialization of changes

ReachOut is a national youth development charity and a strategic partner for schools. Through collective mentoring and engaging activities, we build socio-emotional skills that transform outcomes for young people constrained by circumstance.
Our Grants and Trusts Manager is responsible for managing and developing ReachOut’s income from Trusts and other Grant-making bodies. Working closely with the partnerships team and the Head of Programmes & Impact they will make evidence-informed decisions and collaborate across the organisation to meet our strategic aims. This role is currently reporting to the CEO for an interim period, but longterm will report to the Head of Marketing and Partnerships.

Fundraising Manager
We’re at an exciting stage of expansion and are looking for a passionate and driven individual to lead our income generation strategy. In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape and execute a dynamic plan that ensures sustainable growth and long-term impact.
Role Description
The role holder will be a confident natural leader able to clearly set out and communicate a compelling future income generation direction for TDS. Additionally, the role holder will be a critical thinker who utilises real time data and past and future trends to make informed decisions, analyse past and current results in order to identify emerging opportunities, and embraces a continuous learning mindset that values both successes and failures.
Role tasks
• Update and oversee TDS’ fundraising strategy, plans and related targets by consulting with and securing the support of our Fundraising group.
• Work closely with the CEO to explore new fundraising initiatives and then evaluate and monitor progress vs goals.
• Support the CEO in identifying, developing and writing bids and grant applications. • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with community and corporate partners that support fundraising, pay as you earn, gifts-in-kind and volunteer engagement.
• Oversee fundraising events and activities undertaken by community and corporate partners, groups and individuals.
• Inspire the TDS fundraising staff and volunteer team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability for income generation.
• Drive a refreshed telemarketing campaign to identify, acquire and engage corporate partners.
• Manage a team of volunteer Fundraisers who will help to deliver against actions in the fundraising plan.
• Review, refresh and guide TDS’ external communication strategy.
• Working closely with the CEO to represent Together Dementia Support across agreed public events and platforms.
• Develop and maintain supportive relationships with the Board of Trustees and lead interactions with the Fundraising and Communications groups.
• Create a positive TDS supporter experience that encourages sustained engagement through good stewardship.
• Work in a manner that always facilitates inclusion and empowerment, particularly of people with dementia and their carers.
• Provide reports for the CEO and the Board of Trustees.
•Any other role-related tasks as required by the CEO.
