An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Refugee Resettlement Team to support refugees resettled across Leicestershire and Rutland.
The role
The Refugee Resettlement Officer will be responsible for providing effective integration and orientation support for individuals and families who have been resettled in the UK. The individuals supported through this service may have complex needs and you will provide practical and emotional support to help them adapt to life across Leicestershire and Rutland.
So, if you have:
- Experience in delivering a high-quality service supporting positive outcomes for relocated individuals or families who speak English as a second language.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use appropriate discretion to address complex situations.
- Ability to manage a demanding case load and to plan and prioritise effectively in order to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in partnership with external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable families.
- Good written communication skills including the ability to produce clear and concise support plans and reports.
- Good knowledge of the statutory framework in relation to safeguarding and an ability to apply this in practice and in day-to-day case work.

The post holder will lead Refugee Support Devon (RSD) in achieving its mission and strategic goals. This person will act as RSD’s primary ambassador, advocate, and spokesperson, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, funders, and the wider community. They will provide strategic leadership, operational management and financial oversight of RSD, working closely with staff and the Trustee Board to manage and progress the organisation.

Job Purpose
This is an exciting time to be joining Barnsley CVS and the development of its volunteer offer, working closely with the Barnsley Refugee Advice Project to ensure best practice.
The main purpose of the role is to facilitate better integration of refugee’s, migrants, and asylum seekers into community life in Barnsley using the vehicle of volunteering as a means of supporting this.
You will be responsible for building a strong and trusted relationship with the refugee and asylum seeking community; ensuring potential volunteers are well supported to easily access volunteer roles in Barnsley and playing a significant role in community cohesion. You are likely to provide support through 1-1 support, small group sessions or carefully worded website adverts and information. Alongside this, you will work closely with voluntary and community sector groups to help them develop appropriate opportunites, ensure good practice and create a network of trusted organisations.
You will need a passion for volunteering and inclusion, patience to work with vulnerable communities and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people in both a written and spoken context.
Main duties
Individual support
· Providing direct support to individuals from Barnsley refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking community to find community-based volunteering roles

Support to organisations
· To work with organisations to ensure that volunteer policies and procedures are inclusive
· Work with organisations to provide high quality support to volunteers from the Barnsley refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking community
· Provide support and guidance in relation to obtaining DBS and equivalent checks where necessary
· Provide information, advice, training and assistance to organisations on the implementation, management and monitoring of volunteering activities
Collaboration
· The post-holder will be expected to work in collaboration with the Barnsley Refugee and Advice Partnership
· To attend the migrant drop-in and work in collaboration with the partners of the migrant network
· To work in collaboration with other Volunteer Coordinators both internally and externally through attendance at the Volunteer Coordinators / Managers meetings hosted by Barnsley CVS
· To attend workshops, group meetings, market places to help network and promote the volunteer services of Barnsley CVS
· To create reports reflecting the progress and learnings of the project to both report to the local authority and to assist in development

About the role
The Refugee Council supports separated children across England and part of our service is a team of staff based in Dover, working 24/7 to provide a temporary safeguarding service for children arriving there, ensuring that their basic needs are met while they await transfer to the care of a local authority. The unit is reactive to the needs of clients, who may arrive at any time, and staff are expected to cover a variety of shifts.
As one of our Support Workers, will be expected to:
- Work in the best interests of the child.
- Assess the basic needs of newly arrived clients and provide an appropriate service, including food, clothing, and access to hygiene facilities.
- Recognise indicators of confusion or distress and respond accordingly.
- Respond to, report and accurately record all safeguarding issues.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Work professionally and effectively with a range of statutory bodies, including the Home Office and local authority staff and other stakeholders.
- Keep appropriate and up to date records in the agreed format, and to report on time all necessary information as agreed with the managers.
- Carry out effective handover to colleagues.
- Carry out all work with regard to the Refugee Council’s organisational policies and procedures, in particular to adhere to the Safeguarding of Children policy and procedures.
- Provide a positive working role model for other colleagues and clients.

About the role
As a Refugee Integration and Housing Lead as part of the Single Homeless Prevention Service you will be joining our highly successful refugee service which supports newly recognised refugees into housing. In this role you will support the Head of SHPS to manage the service and contract, hold a small caseload of clients and line manage three housing and integration coaches. With the team you will focus on engaging with refugees early to advise how to access housing, health, benefits, or employment and help to plan and fulfil their personal goals to become fully integrated into the UK.
You will be reaching out to refugees, building relationships with people who have a range of support needs to outline what services and support they can access. A focus of the role is on housing individuals as quickly as possible and then working with them to sustain their accommodation outcomes and fulfil integration goals. This role requires empathy and commitment, skilled delivery of a range of interventions and a passion for working with those who face multiple disadvantages in society.

Job Purpose
The Director leads GARAS in its mission to support refugees and asylum seekers, with a strong commitment to their rights and well-being.
The successful candidate will be an innovative and strategic thinker, who can work with key stakeholders across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire to develop and deliver impactful services which navigate complex challenges. The Director is responsible for the strategic direction, financial sustainability, and overall management of the organisation, ensuring GARAS operates in accordance with its values and goals. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Development
- Provide visionary leadership to advance GARAS’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Develop, implement, and review organisational strategy in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
- Identify and respond to emerging issues impacting refugees and asylum seekers at local, regional, and national levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, partner organisations, donors, and community stakeholders.
Organisational and Financial Management
- Ensure the financial health and sustainability of GARAS through effective fundraising, financial planning and budgeting.
- Oversee operational policies, processes and practices to ensure the delivery of highquality, accessible services.
- Consistently review GARAS's structure, systems, policies and procedures to ensure that these are fit for purpose, compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements and reflect good practice requirements.
- Monitor and report on organisational performance to the Board of Trustees, including financial performance, service delivery, and programme outcomes.
- Secure grants, develop new funding opportunities, and maintain relationships with funders.
Service Delivery and Programme Development
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programmes and services to meet the evolving needs of clients, staff and the organisation.
- Ensure the delivery of client-centred services that uphold the dignity and rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
- Develop partnerships to enhance the scope and impact of GARAS’ programmes and services.
- Ensure all of GARAS’ services comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Advocacy and Public Relations
- Act as a spokesperson for GARAS, representing the organisation’s mission and values to the public, media, and other stakeholders.
- Develop advocacy strategies to promote awareness of refugee and asylum seeker issues within the community and among policymakers.
- Engage with media, attend public events, and foster partnerships to raise the profile of GARAS.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide inspirational leadership, mentoring, and support to our dedicated team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture and promoting continuous professional development and well-being.
- Provide direct line management to senior staff including development support, coaching, performance management and access to training, and to support senior staff and volunteers to do the same to the teams they manage.
- Ensure, through the senior staff, that all teams have robust work plans and key performance indicators in place which contribute to the achievement of GARAS’ long-term strategy and annual plans.
- Run regular all-team meetings to ensure good working practice is shared across the teams
- Work with the Trustee Board to recruit staff as required for the running of the organisation using fair and equitable systems.
- Work with the Office Manager to ensure effective oversight and resolution of any HR issues.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local Universities to provide opportunities for student placements

ARC Blackburn (ARC), an established local charity, has recently been commissioned by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council to deliver an asylum seeker integration programme for newly arrived asylum seekers in the borough. The purpose of the role is to work with new and existing partner organisations as well as existing staff, volunteers, and service users to deliver the programme.
This role requires an experienced individual who will encourage clients’ engagement in the community by welcoming, supporting, signposting, running social activities, connecting communities and supporting organisations, organising events and trips, and engaging with clients who require additional social engagement support. The Partnerships and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for measuring the impact and outcomes of all small activities and events using surveys, questionnaires and focus groups.
The other strand to the coordinator role will be to support local asylum seeker and refugee support hubs in the delivery of both formal and informal learning of English and Digital skills. Enabling access to these learning opportunities is vital to our clients’ resettlement and integration in the UK and local environment.
To be successful in the role, you will have relevant experience in community engagement and/or building partnerships in the charity sector. You will have proven experience in delivering activities and events that focus on community connection and co-creation, thus improving community integration and reducing social isolation. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and inspire diverse groups of people. You must also have excellent IT skills, with the ability to report on quantitative and qualitative data. Experience of using a case management system is preferred.
Fluency in an additional language would be beneficial. The post will be based in Blackburn, Lancashire, but with frequent visits to other locations in Blackburn and Darwen.

The Children’s Services are responsible for delivering services to separated refugee children. The service also leads on raising the profile of their clients and advocates on their behalf. The focus of the Independent Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children Support Service (IUSS) is to offer advice and support to separated children, particularly around their asylum application, and to signpost and refer children to statutory and voluntary agencies, working with local authorities to ensure that appropriate services are provided. The service is contracted by the Home Office.
Based in Luton, you will need to be able to travel across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and preferable live within one of those areas. This job is suitable for some home working subject to prior authorisation.

About the role
This role will be responsible for the delivery and leadership of our media and strategic communications functions, which help deliver the strategic ambitions to secure policy change and change public attitudes.

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Philanthropy Manager who is passionate about high value fundraising, relishes the challenge of growing a pipeline and is motivated by UNHCR’s work.
You will join our small but talented Philanthropy Team playing a key part in identifying and bringing on board new, prospective donors, as well as growing relationships and income from donors already supporting UK for UNHCR.
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate donor relationships, and to inspire and engage new supporters. An experienced fundraiser, you will provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.
You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing prospect pipelines and crafting compelling donor communications.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Grow prospect pipeline and the number of donors donating £10K+ to UNHCR’s work.
- Grow UK for UNHCR’s sustainable income by growing the number of multi-year donors funding our programmes outside of emergencies.
- Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors.
- Craft compelling propositions and proposals for major donors and ensure quality and timely reporting back on gifts made.
- Work closely with the IG team to manage the transition of mid-value donors to the major donor programme.
- Engage existing and selected prospect major donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospect major donors and to develop network maps.
- Maintain accurate records, including Salesforce and UK for UNHCR’s databases for income recording and earmarking.
- Working with the wider team to contribute to the delivery of bespoke philanthropy activities such as roundtables and webinars.
- Help to position and raise awareness of UK for UNHCR’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK for UNHCR at events.
- Work within UK for UNHCR’s due diligence policy and processes.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- Experience of working in an income generating capacity with an NGO or INGO to identify, approach, secure and steward major donors giving or capable of giving over five to six-figure gifts.
- Experience of developing donor care plans and delivering bespoke proposals and communications to generate income.
- Experience of managing and growing a prospect pipeline.
- Experience of working with trustees, CEO and senior stakeholders to build donor relationships.

About the role
London Borough of Lambeth is commissioning a resettlement therapeutic service for refugees resettled in Lambeth via Resettlement Schemes funded and overseen by the Home Office. The Service will offer therapeutic and psychological interventions to resettled refugees including individuals, groups and families.
In this role, you will:
- Offer therapeutic intervention to include psycho-education groups, one-to-one therapy to adults and children.
- Provide a holistic assessment to refugee adult, children and young people who have been resettled in Lambeth.
- Liaise with educational and social care services as appropriate to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people being supported by Refugee Council.
- Offer consultation and awareness training to educational staff working with resettled refugees across the region
- Take a lead on Project monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on outcomes to a high standard.

The Detention Outreach Manager is responsible for the delivery, development and quality of detention outreach services provided by JRS UK in line with our vision, mission, and values. The post-holder will manage the Detention Outreach Team of staff and volunteers to provide high quality support to people in detention and post-detention, and work closely with other areas of the organisation.
The post-holder will be responsible for: their own casework as well as casework supervision; ensuring detention policies and data are up to date; reporting; ensuring provision of on-going training; recruitment of staff and volunteers; and managing the welfare drop-in in detention.

The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL), is a not-for-profit organisation and one of the largest immigration and asylum advice charities in the UK, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to access justice. An OISC level 3 accredited organisation, our focus is on providing immigration advice, destitution services, integration support and campaigning to improve the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across London and Essex. We also actively campaign for a fairer and more humane immigration system.

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the role is to assist some of the most vulnerable people in our society with immigration legal advice and representation. The focus of the legal work is on non-legal aid funded matters, supporting people who otherwise have no access to legal advice and support and who are facing a crisis.
We are only considering applicants with relevant legal experience. Qualifications needed are IAA, IAAS or Solicitor with 1 year+ immigration experience.
Relationships: This post will report to an Immigration Manager
Hours of work: The role is primarily a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week. However, for the right candidate, we may consider accommodating part-time working hours. Given the nature of RAMFEL’s work, there may be instances where the Supervisor will need to exceed the standard hours. In such cases, compensatory time off can be arranged with the Head of Services
Solicitors with less than 1-year experience will be paid at IAA level 1. IAAS level 2 qualified advisors (non-solicitors) may be considered for the role and would be at the IAA level 1 pay.
28 days annual leave plus statutory holidays and 6% pension contribution.

Specific Responsibilities
Case management
- Manage own caseload, working to advance the best interests of the client
- Adhere to standards set out by IAA/SRA and AQS to deliver high-quality advice
- Provide advice and representation up to IAA level 2/3.
- Engage with the Line Manager to create and follow a training plan to ensure compliance with IAA CPD, keeping up to date with changes in law, policy and guidance to ensure clients receive accurate and high-quality advice
- Liaise directly with the UKVI and related governmental agencies
- Complete forms, letters and immigration applications
- Liaise with and refer clients to Legal Aid Solicitors or other advisers, as appropriate
- Manage clients’ expectations by discussing deadlines, outcomes and timing
- Deliver legal advice outreach surgeries/drop in as and when required
- Progress cases in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements
- Implement organisational priorities into day-to-day casework.
