About us
The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL) is one of the largest immigration and asylum advice charities in the UK, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to access justice. An IAA level 3 accredited organisation, we represent clients at all stages of the immigration and asylum process, up to and including the Upper Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber. We also support clients to access destitution support, housing and relevant services they are entitled to.
We also actively campaign for a fairer and more humane immigration system. RAMFEL caseworkers therefore have the opportunity to work on systemic and strategic challenges and support broader advocacy work.
We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals, and those who are migrants or refugees, and who have lived experience of the impact of UK immigration policy and/or of rough sleeping. This includes individuals with direct experience or experience gained through supporting family members with the challenges posed by immigration and asylum practices- those who have been or could have been clients of RAMFEL.
Purpose of the role
The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London is an IAA level 3 registered charity, that provides advice to help people access justice. Having received additional funding, the role gives an opportunity to assist some of the most vulnerable people in our society. There will be particular focus on working with people who are facing a crisis, providing advice work and support that will take them out of destitution and on a path towards independence.
The RAS caseworker will be assisting Asylum Seekers and Refugees with accessing services and support they are entitled to, such as housing, benefits, asylum support, medical and education services etc.
Hours of work: The role is primarily a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week. However, for the right candidate, we may consider accommodating part-time working hours. Given the nature of RAMFEL’s work, there may be instances where the Supervisor will need to exceed the standard hours. In such cases, compensatory time off can be arranged with the Head of Services
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 per annum, depending on experience. 28 days annual leave plus statutory holidays and 6% pension contribution.

Purpose of the role
As our 2020-25 strategy draws to a close, we are seeking a dynamic and insightful consultant(s) to provide expert strategy support and facilitation that will result in the development of Praxis’ next Strategic Plan 2026-31. The consultant(s) will play a key role in helping us clarify our mission, set actionable goals, and develop a comprehensive strategy that aligns with our vision for the future.This process will help us focus our efforts and resources on securing the most impactful change for migrants and refugees at risk of destitution and homelessness. Undertaking this process now will help us ensure that our organisation is in a strong position to respond to future challenges including increasing hostility towards migrant communities, deepening economic inequality and the ongoing housing crisis.
Objectives of the consultancy

· Identify the key strengths of our current approach and our impact areas.

· Make recommendations for our strategic priorities for the next 5 years.
· Support the CEO and Board of Directors to draft a new Strategic Plan and updated Theory of Change that will guide our work from 2026-2031.

The Resettlement Therapeutic Service
London Borough of Lambeth is commissioning a resettlement therapeutic service for refugees resettled in Lambeth via Resettlement Schemes funded and overseen by the Home Office. The Service will offer therapeutic and psychological interventions to resettled refugees including individuals, groups and families. The Service model is built on a trauma and human rights-informed, preventative, holistic approach to supporting adults and families The Service is designed for early interventions that ensure psychological safety to reduce stress and enhance wellbeing. The aim is to secure emotional regulation and develop emotional awareness, improve confidence and resilience while settling into life in the UK.
The service will offer individual one-to-one therapy, therapeutic and psycho-educational groups and workshops and will support children and families to regain and maintain their confidence and ability to live independent lives.
Purpose of the Job:
- To offer a therapeutic intervention to include psycho-education groups, one-to-one therapy to adults and children.
- To provide a holistic assessment to refugee adult, children and young people who have been resettled in Lambeth.
- To liaise with educational and social care services as appropriate to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people being supported by Refugee Council.
- To offer consultation and awareness training to educational staff working with resettled refugees across the region.
- Take a lead on Project monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on outcomes to a high standard.

- To provide assessments of refugee children/young people in order to formulate and implement plans for the treatment of the child or young person and adult’s mental health, based upon an appropriate theoretical framework.

We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer or level 3 immigration advisor to join our Migrant and Refuge Organising team (MARO). This is an opportunity to join Taban's team during a period of growth.
Started 5 years ago, Taban is a young charity providing personal and practical support to Farsi-speaking refugees and asylum seekers in and around Manchester. We guide clients new to the UK in accessing health, education, housing and other support services. As we get to know clients and they grow in confidence and trust, we work collaboratively with them to help them achieve their goals and build successful lives in the UK.
Taban has a growing base of financial support including grants from the Benefact Trust and National Lottery. This support for our expansion enables us to recruit for this fully funded post. The Role
You will be responsible for providing professional person-centred support to our clients through direct engagement, working not only to resolve their issues but also to build their confidence and capacity over time.

Terms
Location: Our office is based in Fallowfield, South Manchester, Free parking is available. A laptop and a funded mobile phone will be provided.
Hours: We have budgeted for a full-time role of 35 hours per week. Flexibility in when these hours are worked can be negotiated. We are also open to applications from candidates looking to work less than full-time.
Pay: £22,500-£27,000 Full-time equivalent starting salary, with the potential to increase with experience and in line with growth in the organisation.

Wycombe Refugee Partnership is a local multicultural, multi-faith charity founded in 2016 that supports refugees and asylum seekers living in the Wycombe area. Main purpose of role
To develop policy goals and recommendations in line with Women for Refugee Women’s (WRW) overarching campaigns strategy to improve the lives of women seeking asylum in the UK; to develop and deliver policy interventions such as policy briefings, evidence for Parliamentary committees, responses to inquiries and consultations; to plan and carry out research projects for influencing purposes, ensuring that these are informed by and co-delivered with women in WRW’s network.
Job Description
Strategy: To develop and set feasible policy goals over the short, medium and long term, in line with WRW’s overarching campaigns strategy to improve the lives of women seeking asylum, in consultation with the Campaigns team, and the women in WRW’s network; to provide regular analysis on the external context and assess the opportunities for bringing about policy change in order to inform the strategic direction of the Campaigns team.
Policy: To lead the drafting of policy documents including briefings for MPs, civil servants and other influencing targets, evidence for Parliamentary committees, responses to inquiries and consultations, etc.
Research: To identify research opportunities to advance WRW’s policy goals; to plan and write up research projects for influencing opportunities, ensuring that these are informed by and co-delivered with women in WRW’s network, and carry them out in partnership with the other staff of WRW and our campaigns groups.
Influencing: To identify influencing avenues to advance our campaigning goals, and work with the Campaigns team to develop and maintain relationships with civil servants, parliamentarians, opinion-formers and other stakeholders.
Law: To explore the potential for use of the law in achieving our policy goals, including working on possible strategic litigation in partnership with other organisations and with lawyers.
Communications and media: To work closely with the Campaigns team to give input and advice on WRW’s communications through mainstream and social media to ensure that these are accurate and well-targeted; to act as a spokesperson for WRW’s campaigns, including on media platforms and at events, panels and other platforms to reach target audiences.
Partnerships: To work closely with policy colleagues in the sector to share intel, pool expertise, and advance joint goals; to represent WRW at conferences and forums, consolidating and initiating partnerships with partner organisations and other stakeholders in order to drive forward our policy work.
Support to refugee women: To ensure that our policy work is informed by the experiences of women seeking asylum; to ensure that the women in WRW’s network have an opportunity to shape WRW’s policy goals and are kept abreast of developments in our campaign to achieve these.
Line Management: This role currently has no line management responsibilities but this may be introduced to the role at a later date, depending on the resourcing of the Campaigns team.
Organisational input
Grassroots: to work with the Grassroots team in ensuring that the women in WRW’s network understand the policy and research function of the organisation and are updated regularly about our progress towards achieving these.
Monitoring and evaluation: to assist with the evaluation and monitoring of WRW’s policy work and its effectiveness.
Support with fundraising: to support the work of the Grants Fundraising Manager through contributing to grants applications and reports.
Policy compliance: to stay well informed about WRW’s existing policies on issues such as safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection, to ensure that all policy and research observes the letter and spirit of such policies, and to keep up to date in developments in best practice in these areas, so that WRW remains a well-run and effective organisation.
Organisational: to participate in and support activities such as staff meetings and workshops aimed at building a stronger organisation.
WRW is a small busy team that responds quickly to situations that are often fast moving and unpredictable. As a member of this team you would be expected to be flexible in the way that you work and to help out with other duties where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential
- Thorough understanding of the UK asylum process and how it affects women and its political and legal context.
- Knowledge and understanding of social research methods, including qualitative methods and participatory action approaches.
- Experience of producing compelling policy and research documents, preferably in a political, legal or campaigning environment.

About the role
The UK government’s resettlement programmes (such as the UKRS, ARAP as well as other UK Resettlement Schemes) support refugees who are selected and processed in the region of origin and brought to the UK with their status already determined. Under these schemes, a specific quota of refugees will be coming to the UK for resettlement.
The Resettlement Team in Yorkshire and Humberside provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision, and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services across the UK, the Refugee Council resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To provide information about the work of the Refugee Council to potential volunteers and to maintain regular contact with refugee community and other organisations which might provide a potential source of volunteers for the Refugee Council.
- To work with the managers and resettlement workers within the team to identify the potential need for volunteers and the necessary skills required.
- To recruit, induct and train volunteers so that they can be deployed and matched effectively within the regional programme this will involve supporting them in day-to-day and operational issues.
- To ensure that volunteers are valued and supported in their engagement with the Refugee Council and to ensure that volunteers are engaged in various roles and in such ways as to ensure compatibility with the organisational principles on volunteering.

Finance Manager
About us:
The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL), is a not-for-profit organisation and one of the largest immigration and asylum advice charities in the UK, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to access justice. An OISC level 3 accredited organisation, our focus is on providing immigration advice, destitution services, integration support and campaigning to improve the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across London and Essex. We also actively campaign for a fairer and more humane immigration system.

Purpose of the role: RAMFEL has grown significantly over the last few years, and we want to sustain our growth and diversify our income. Starting 25 years ago, we now support over 5000 people yearly with a few volunteers, 30+ staff and a turnover above one and half million pounds.
The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that the financial systems in place at RAMFEL provide accurate and easily accessible information to the CEO, Board and other staff. You will work closely with the CEO and Head of Operations to ensure that financial monitoring and reporting enhance the governance and decision-making process for RAMFEL. You will ensure that the charity complies with all statutory and external financial requirements and regulations. This role will include business planning, reporting, and oversight of our financial systems.
We are looking for someone with experience within the charity sector who is happy to get hands-on and can adapt and oversee the finance systems of the charity. You will be capable of supporting colleagues at all levels and improving their financial understanding of the projects they are involved in. You will be a self-motivated individual who can work on your own initiative. This role is central to maintaining our financial health and advancing our mission. You will oversee budgets, forecasting and management accounts while ensuring robust financial systems are in place. Business Development at Refugee Council
We operate two main service departments supporting refugees (resettlement, employment, and integration) and people seeking asylum (casework, therapeutic support, and social support for adults and children. We also have a smaller Practice Development team supporting Refugee Community Organisations and frontline practitioners to develop their skills and capacity to meet the needs of people seeking asylum and refugees. Our Business Development team sits within our Fundraising and External Affairs team and works closely with our services directorate.
The purpose of this role is to bolster the resource of our Business Development team in order to build the foundations for statutory income generation for Refugee Council in the immediate term and for the future. The key elements of the role are to:
- Identify the appropriate statutory commissioners to liaise with when presenting our service models. This is a time intensive task that requires research via different platforms and networks (e.g. LinkedIn, web searches, internal colleague contacts, and related market insights).
- Assess feedback and insights following engagement with commissioners, identify patterns and opportunities, and contribute towards Business Development’s funder engagement and fundraising strategy.
- Prepare background documents, such as up-to-date context statements and summaries, for use in proposals, tenders, service models, and related Business Development products. Lead on various administrative tasks to support the function of the Business Development team, such as completing selection questionnaires for competitive tenders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Research:
- Our Business Development Officer will lead the researching and mapping statutory commissioners, service delivery partners, and providers to produce a clear picture of service delivery landscape, commissioner interests, and commissioning trends to inform business development strategies across our geographical hub areas.
- They will identify appropriate and influential statutory commissioners (via internal colleagues, LinkedIn, online searches, and related sources) for Business Development colleagues to contact. Through their detailed research they will build an in-depth understanding of commissioner roles and remit, interests, and priority areas of work that will help us influence statutory commissioners.
- They will lead on developing and maintaining content-rich, in depth evidence-based summaries on clients’ and commissioners’ evolving needs for use in proposals, tenders, service models, and strategy documents. These summaries will be highly persuasive and enable to team to influence funders. They will be required to analyse complex data and evidence presenting asylum and refugee trends and figures as well as statutory funding available across a range of sources.
