Coeliac UK currently has an exciting opportunity for a Interim Database Manager, to join our team in High Wycombe. You will join us on a full time, fixed-term contract for three months. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £44,000 - £50,000 per annum pro-rated depending on experience.
Coeliac UK represents over 60,000 members providing information and support to those affected by coeliac disease or following a gluten free diet. We also campaign on behalf of all those living with coeliac disease and undertake research into the causes of the disease.
The Interim Database Manager role:
As our Interim Database Manager, you will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of our CRM system and all associated data. As a member charity having been established almost 60 years ago and with over 63,000 active members, we have significant volumes of valuable data. We are looking for an interim Database Manager to deliver existing projects and progress future development plans.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in database and data management, a natural interest in data analysis and ideally be an expert in WorkBooks. The role is a central one, working with all Directorates across the charity, so strong communication skills and teamwork is also a pre-requisite.
Key responsibilities of the Interim Database Manager:
- To manage and maintain the master data for all the charity’s areas of work
- To be the lead on specific projects to develop our data resources including working with external consultants to build APIs
- To work with external consultants and suppliers to ensure that all database developments, improvements and modifications are within the agreed specification, of high quality, fully documented and within budget
- To manage the time, activities and tasks of the Database Officer to support the needs of the charity.
- To create management reports, document data and workflow processes and inform colleagues on issues and best practices
- In conjunction with external suppliers, ensure that the database and related systems are suitably configured, maintained, updated and reliable and that all new data and software updates are fully tested prior to implementation
- To import and export data files in an accurate and timely manner by developing an executable, report or saved query. To offer technical assistance to users and to modify the executable/query when required
- To support and assist staff with the database and related systems difficulties and to provide solutions in liaison with external partners
- To assist the charity to streamline and improve business processes that impact on the database or related systems. This may include designing and implementing new processes
- Develop and run a training programme and user manual for internal staff that can be used as a reference and induction tool for new staff members; becoming first point of call for support issues
Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Interim Database Manager:
- Excellent experience of managing and administering MRM or CRM databases – entry, segmentation and reporting. Experience or expertise in WorkBooks preferable.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel for data manipulation
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- Numerate with necessary skills to produce, monitor and interpret information and reports
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to time manage and prioritise tasks for self and the team to meet deadlines, across a number of concurrent projects

- Co-operative team player with practical problem-solving skills and ‘can do’ attitude incorporating a flexible approach

An overview of the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Talent and Leadership Development, we are looking for a customer-focused, organised, forward thinking and creative Programme Manager to join us and drive our mission of cross-sector collaboration.
WIG was founded on secondments, and as such, they continue to play a hugely important role in our vision for a country where leaders collaborate for the common good. As leaders second in and out of organisation's, so too does knowledge sharing and porosity which enables strong decision making and improved collaboration. This is an exciting time to join the Talent and Leadership team and play an integral role in providing a first-class, customer-centric experience to WIG’s members.
You will be responsible for managing the Charity Next Secondment Programme ( a collaborative partnership between the Civil Service Fast Stream and Charities, Not for Profit's and Academia) working collaboratively to maximise secondment engagement between the sectors. You will also manage inwards secondments to member organisations as well as working on and developing new concepts, programmes and solutions to maximise porosity and knowledge sharing. You will work closely with other departments and the wider team to develop and increase both the volume and impact of secondment initiatives. You will do this by leveraging your data-driven and research approach as well as evidencing your strong relationship and stakeholder development skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Prior experience as a programme manager, project manager or similar, client-facing role with a demonstrable track record of excellent customer service.
- Prior experience in internal and external stakeholder management and proven ability to build rapport and liaise with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering successful and effective business development strategies - with strong outcomes.
- A successful track record of using CRM systems (a plus if it's Dynamics!), Microsoft Forms, and other software applications to help aid decision making, keep on track of KPIs and to ensure strong project management and outcomes.
- Demonstrable aptitude in managing administration and processes including the signing of secondment agreements, onboarding meetings, feedback cycles and regular communication strategies.
- Demonstrable history of meeting deadlines and the ability to oversee several different projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a successful track record of building rapport and liaising with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
- Whilst not mandatory, it would be a huge plus if you displayed an interest in current affairs, contributing to a well-rounded and informed professional perspective.
- Prior experience of working to budgets, KPIs and forecasted elements of work.
- Strong teamwork - picking up other elements of work as required from the Talent & Leadership team as well as other interdepartmental bodies.
- A strong self-driven attitude and results orientated attitude - having a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality output, ability to solve problems and work calmly under pressure.
- Prior experience of operating in the leadership, talent experience would be desirable but is not essential.

What do some of the main role responsibilities look like?
- Working closely with the Head of Talent and Leadership Development; own the management and delivery of all WIG secondment programmes, including Charity Next, advertised inwards secondments and other secondment programmes and knowledge exchange initiatives both in train, and those that are yet to be developed.

As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you'll be the driving force behind delivering our ambitious fundraising targets in this area, maximising opportunities, working with a range of agencies, stakeholders and your team to deliver our outsourced face to face acquisition programme in the UK, ensuring its success day to day.
You don't need to have worked specifically in the Face-to-Face Fundraising space previously, but you will need to come with experience of managing multiple agency relationships as well as strong stakeholder management skills.

What will I be doing?
Deliver a face to face fundraising acquisition programme via outsourced partners, in line with agreed strategy and targets.

Establish, develop and maintain excellent relationships with our suppliers and partners, proactively looking for opportunities to optimise our partnership with outsourced partners, for the benefit of the organisation.
Lead on the troubleshooting of day to day campaign delivery challenges, acting swiftly to implement workable solutions and ways forward, working closely with the F2F Manager - Outsourced Partners, Individual Giving Operations team, and the relevant stakeholders in order to do so.
Ensure all operational aspects of campaigns from planning through to execution and analysis are in place and as efficient as possible, putting processes in place to ensure the effective management of campaigns, working with the Individual Giving Operations team and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve this.

What are you looking for?
Relevant experience of managing agency relationships, contract management, managing performance, meeting or exceeding key performance indicators ( Face to Face agencies would be beneficial but isn't essential)
Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment and ability to get up to speed with current fundraising regulation

Purpose

This vital role will lead the programme to build and grow our relationships with High-Net-
Worth Individuals (Major Donors) over the next five years and beyond. Working alongside

You will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled Fundraising and Communications team,
dedicated to inspiring people in the UK to help transform lives in some of the world’s
poorest places.
Responsibilities and areas of work
This important role will seek to develop our Major Donor income stream, seeking to grow
both numbers of donors and income raised. At CBM, a Major Donor is considered to be
one who has the capacity to give £5,000+ per year and who relishes the opportunity to
have one-to-one, personalised interactions with CBM.
This role will seek to identify new high-level donors, as well as help to develop existing
relationships with our generous supporters.
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Leadership Team, other team
members and (occasionally) external consultants, this role focusses on building and
consolidating our major donor portfolio, so increasing our donor base and thus our in-year
and pledged income.
Main Goal:
To successfully steward a portfolio of new and existing major donors through tailored
approaches, so securing repeat and multi-year gifts to achieve agreed income targets and
KPIs.
This will be achieved through:
1. New business acquisition:
a) Analysing our current supporter base to build a prospect list, using our database
(Salesforce) and external databases, to assess the potential to upgrade active,
lapsed and prospective major donors.
b) Researching, identifying and securing major donor prospects, through the
identification of high-net-worth individuals who may have an interest in CBM’s work,
and through proactive and effective networking, including working with our Trustees,
Patrons and Ambassadors.
c) Identifying next steps and determining tactics for engagement, including 1:1
working, giving group presentations and delivering pitches at various levels, and
leading on their facilitation.
d) Attending networking opportunities in Cambridge, London and the surrounding
areas to represent CBM and to engage potential major donors in our work
2. Stewardship and cultivation of current and active donors:
a) Developing and implementing tailored cultivation and stewardship plans, so that
individuals are engaged in a bespoke manner, ensuring that they feel a part of CBM
and that their generosity is recognised, through regular reporting, interactions,
updates and tailored approaches.
b) Developing donor-centric applications, proposals and initial approaches (by post,
email, phone and face-to-face) that are driven by insight on donors’ individual needs
and preferences and are tailored to their interests and requirements, following up as
required.
c) Reporting to donors in both formal and informal ways, as appropriate, to ensure
they are kept up to date with CBM, the impact of their grant and project
developments.
d) Hosting and facilitating face-to-face and online meetings with high-level donors,
including organising dates, venues and agendas/ talking points, and creating
Meeting Briefs for all attendees to ensure positive outcomes as far as possible.
e) Promoting the importance of legacies, and legacy income, where appropriate, and
to steward those who have pledged.
f) Organising and managing the successful delivery of at least one Major Donor Event
annually (cultivation, stewardship, thanking etc), to ensure positive relations and
potential new business, in collaboration with our Fundraising and Programme
colleagues.
g) Supporting the Head of Philanthropy and the Philanthropy Officer on the
identification, stewardship and cultivation of potential corporate partners.
3. Proposal and Report Writing
a) Crafting compelling proposals and reports that meet the bespoke needs of major
donors whilst meeting the needs of CBM and our Programme delivery colleagues,
within agreed deadlines.
b) Working with members of the Programmes Team to ensure the accuracy of major
donor proposals / reports, and with members of the Fundraising & Communications
Team to ensure consistency of messaging.
c) Working with the Philanthropy Team to develop new projects/ themes/ appeals for
potential projects.
d) Supporting the Head of Philanthropy on collating information and providing reports
to Foundation donors as needed.
4. Planning and Budgeting
a) Contributing to the development of an Income Generation and Engagement
strategy, led by the Director of Fundraising, Impact & Communications.
b) Closely monitoring income and expenditure, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy
where necessary, and contributing to the creation of yearly fundraising budgets and
plans and quarterly Board Reports.
c) Establishing, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, milestones
and targets to facilitate informed decisions and improved working practice.
5. Other
a) Ensuring all information, donor activity is recorded and kept up-to-date on our
database to fully-inform any approaches/meetings.
b) Providing proof-reading and copy-editing support to colleagues.
c) Helping to develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of
CBM, and promoting positive working and innovation.
d) Ensuring that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and
always reflected in communications.
e) Carrying out any additional duties as required by the Head of Philanthropy and
Director of Fundraising, Impact and Communications.

In this pivotal role, the new Trusts and Foundations Manager will focus on securing gifts through applications to trusts, foundations, livery companies and statutory funders.
Primarily responsible for the management of an existing pipeline of a diverse pool of trusts and foundations, both existing and prospective, you will maximise philanthropic support for St Martin-in-the-Fields and its Trust. You will have:

The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £439 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and members to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will maintain strong oversight of the DEC funded programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners and external briefings over the duration of the response.
Key responsibilities:
Communication and Collaboration
- Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication.
- Maintain strong understanding of response context.
- Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders.
Analysis and Reporting
- Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation.
- Contribute to the review and analysis of plans and reports submitted by member charities in response to DEC appeals.
- Share timely and relevant information and analysis from plans and reports with DEC member charities and local partners.
- Manage external reporting requirements including preparation of stakeholder reports and infographics.
Management and Leadership
- Coordinate the team’s surge capacity to deliver points above, which may involve managing and inducting a team of external consultants and training them in the use of our knowledge management system [Box].
- Coordinate with the Programme Quality, Accountability & Learning team to ensure monitoring, learning and accountability initiatives are timely and appropriate to the response.
- Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities.
If you have recently worked in any of DEC’s 15 member charities, and have demonstratable humanitarian experience of Ukraine, with the competence to prepare timely/accurate reports and deliver credible presentations to diverse audiences, then you will be perfect to join an incredible team and organisation.

Job Purpose
We are seeking a creative and driven philanthropy manager to join our team on a permanent basis. Working alongside members of the wider team, you will help deliver the best possible experience to some of the charity’s most committed donors through a mixture of bespoke events, personalised communications, and recognition opportunities across our hospital sites.
Specifically, this role will lead the team’s efforts in working with our mid-level donors, developing our first ever patrons’ programme and providing them with a gold-standard experience that ensures continued support of the Royal Free Charity.

Responsibilities
Leading the Royal Free Charity’s patrons’ programme
· Lead all aspects of the Royal Free Charity’s patrons’ programme, from recruitment through to stewardship and renewal efforts.
· Work with senior stakeholders to develop and launch a new strategy for the programme, illustrating the potential overlap between patronage and other areas of support for the charity, as well as opportunities to uplift levels of support or additional gifts.
· Manage the day-to-day delivery of the patrons’ programme including coordinating the renewals process and responding to enquiries.
· Effectively promote the programme across a range of audiences, working with colleagues to identify and recruit prospects and deliver retention activity to uplift individuals to patronage and beyond.

· Alongside the patrons’ programme, lead and deliver a mid-level giving retention and recruitment strategy, for donors giving between £1,000 and £10,000 to the charity each year, working with colleagues to understand potential opportunities for uplift in giving.
· Support the development and delivery of engaging events, and bespoke communications for mid-level donors.
· Ensure that mid-level donors have the best possible experience of giving to the charity, by engaging with colleagues on the development of appeals to this audience, stewarding those giving at this level, and attracting new supporters to grow the programme.
· Contribute to analysis and commentary on the performance of the programme.

Fundraising department
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5 million through donations in 2023/2024, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.
We pride ourselves on being supporter focused and agile, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.
Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
· Our Philanthropy & Campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations, and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on the acquisition of a new surgical robot, our forthcoming cancer campaign, our essential volunteering, complementary therapy and support services, the charity’s first patron programme, and special events to support these activities.
· Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our database and supporter care teams sit within public fundraising, with their work underpinning and supporting the entire department.
Building on our achievements, our board of trustees has agreed to invest in expanding the fundraising team to develop a sustainable infrastructure that will support our growth ambitions.
