Sussex Emmaus is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced social exclusion or homelessness. We are now recruiting a Catering Assistant Supervisor to assist the Catering Manager in the efficient and effective running of the Cafe@Emmaus and Community Kitchen. You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team who are passionate about what they do.

To help more students get further, we are seeking a driven and passionate Head of Fundraising who will build relationships with major donors to the charity – especially Trusts and Foundations – to secure a significant portion of the charity’s income.

About the Role

The Head of Fundraising will be a key member of our Senior Management Team (SMT) and take ownership of our Fundraising Strategy to support the diversification of our income. This role is vital to our future growth and sustainability, and an opportunity to lead an exciting part of the charity which makes a real difference to the students we support.

Strategy and Leadership

• Lead the delivery of our fundraising strategy in line with our current organisational strategy which runs from 2024-2029. 
• Lead on the management of key information about Get Further’s fundraising activity and ensure it is stored appropriately, well organised and with high attention to detail. This will include supporting the transition of the fundraising function onto Salesforce.
• Prepare fundraising update reports for the Finance and Risk Committee and the Board of Trustees as required.
• Contribute to and attend internal/external events on behalf of Get Further as required.

Fundraising and Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead the core fundraising activities, including line managing our Fundraising Officer. This includes developing an in-depth understanding of existing and potential supporters to provide tailored relationship management, including engagement opportunities, to meet significant targets over multiple years.
• Support the Fundraising Officer to identify new prospects, in particular, charitable trusts and foundations that have the potential to support Get Further for the first time. You will effectively qualify and engage with prospects to build a pipeline for the coming years, matching prospects with appropriate asks.
• Oversee and write compelling applications for funding that are tailored to each recipient and make a convincing case for how their support with help more young people achieve their gateway qualifications.
• Lead on ensuring all supporters and donors receive updates and reports within the required timeframes and that these are crafted with impact data and case studies to ensure maximum stakeholder engagement.

Team Management and Collaboration

• Provide effective line management of our Fundraising Officer to support their personal development and successful delivery of their role.
• Work closely with the COO to develop budgets to accompany applications and provide financial reports to funders and partners.
• Work closely with the Impact Team to develop efficient processes for impact reporting to funders.
• Support the COO to ensure that policies relating to fundraising are up to date and fit for purpose.
• Provide expertise to the Senior Management Team on philanthropic opportunities and ensure fundraising is conducted in line with the relevant legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Our mission is to beat blood cancer within a generation. Clinical trials play an important part in finding more effective and kinder treatments that support this aim. We are looking for a registered nurse to join us as a Clinical Trials Support Nurse in our innovative Clinical Trials Support Service.  

You’ll be delivering high quality information and support to those looking to enter a blood cancer clinical trial. Working alongside a team of specialist nurses, you’ll be giving patients and their loved ones the knowledge and confidence to better understand and potentially access clinical trials, together with the time and space so often not available from their clinical team given the extensive pressures of the NHS. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in exciting project work as we look to increase our reach and value for the blood cancer community, ensuring clinical trials become more accessible for all. 

You’ll have extensive haemato-oncology experience as a research, clinical trials or specialist nurse.  

Expected travel for this role is: 4-8 days in the London office per quarter + two All-staff away days

The Senior Communications Strategist will contribute to the delivery of projects on issues like access to justice, achieving health equity, and securing decent and affordable homes for everyone working with partners such as Impact on Urban Health, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Shelter, and the Law Society.

The Senior Communications Strategist’s key responsibilities are to apply framing research to communications practice, support project delivery, and support our external communications.

Overall Purpose

The Office Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Foundation. The Project Accountant role will ensure that Wilton Park events remain competitively priced and that all resources are utilised efficiently.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that all events are managed effectively from a financial perspective – including pricing of events, grant applications, regular liaison with the project teams, timesheet management, financial reconciliations of events and post event analysis.

The role will monitor the key performance indicators for Wilton Park to measure against our effectiveness regarding the strategic direction.

The role will ensure that the priorities of the FCDO are met through the accurate allocation of funds from the various funding sources received via FCDO – ODA, grant funding, ISF and new grants available.

The Head of Business Development works closely with the CEO and has responsibility for all aspects of the development of BLCF’s business interests including long-term income growth, philanthropy, partnerships, communication and new business initiatives. They will nurture and grow the Foundation’s long-term growth income, secure funding for new initiatives and develop and deliver our CSR and social value work, extending the reach of our services to increase our revenue through the excellent communication of our business and strategic aims. Their duties will include identifying leads, pitching companies, NFP, government offices and local authorities, building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing businesses and suppliers, whilst responsible for the overall strategic management and programme development of a portfolio of partnerships. They operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team (incl CEO and Head of Impact) they will contribute to strategic development and delivery of the foundations Strategic Plan, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

Work with the CEO and Head of Impact to develop plans and strategies to ensure quality services are delivered that meet organisational objectives and charitable articles to the highest standards. 

As part of the Senior Leadership team, work with, advise, contribute, and respond to the CEO and Head of Impact and the partnership they create to ensure they are deliverable and adequately resourced and costed and deliverable.  

Work with the CEO to set and implement Strategic Plan Delivery Plan targets and objectives and budgets to deliver them. Ensuring information is cascaded to all staff in their area and that staff connect to the Strategic Plan though their own workplans.

Core Role Delivery

Work with the CEO and under their direction to identify, develop and deliver new partnerships and to increase revenue and business growth that support the Foundations long term sustainability and long-term income targets. Basing new work on evidence of need as identified by the Head of Impact . This includes but not exclusively development of new flowthrough opportunities, endowment partners, legacy, corporates, social value and CSR initiatives and all aspects of business growth.  
Provide support and advise to potential and existing partners about our work and proactively look to address inequality and fairer access to opportunities the Foundation offers. 

Oversees the team and external contractors tasked with effective communication with our corporate and business partners to ensure it is a means to drive partnership and business growth.

Staff & Contract Management 

Ensure an appropriate, effective staff, freelance and volunteer structure to deliver the services; recruit and manage staff & volunteers and resources to achieve required service response and quality.

Ensure all staff development and review processes are undertaken including induction, appraisal, and performance, in line with required processes. Resolve performance issues among staff and volunteers engaged in delivering services.

Performance Management

Working under the direction of the CEO develop, agree, and secure agree all partnership agreements and MOU that support the emerging partnerships and ensure they are in line with the Donor Care Plan specifications.  

Working with the CEO and Finance, oversee and monitor all contract and partnership agreement terms with regards to agreed milestones and cashflow of fees and funds; anticipate problem areas and lead as necessary on mitigating action and ensure deliver of agreed targets.

Work to the Head of Impact to inform monitoring reports as required to ensure clear and transparent delivery of agree contracts.  

Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation. 

Contribute to the Quality Accreditation process to ensure highest standard of the foundation are achieved.

Relationship Management

Under the direction of the CEO develop and maintain proactive, collaborative and effective strategic relationships with corporate partners, commissioners, contract managers, business partners and funders to maximise the charity’s influence and ability to deliver quality services and grow it income and funding.  

Manage the Bedfordshire & Luton Funder Network to maximise opportunities for support, collaboration, and information sharing. 

Representing the Organisation

Maintain an excellent understanding of business and charity sector issues to better inform our work, ensuring information is cascaded to wider members of the team. 

Represent the Foundation at Regional and National events. 

Proactively develop and maintain an appropriate network of contacts in the grant making and business sectors. 

Represent BLCF positively, working closely with the CEO promoting its current work and future development opportunities.

Provide proactive support to the CEO with other initiatives, where required.

Experience

Significant and demonstrable experience of partnership working and income generation and growth with a wide range of businesses, funders, Trusts, Local Authorities and the VCSE.   

Clear understanding of the wider voluntary and charity sector (D).

Experience of working on delivery and negotiation of complex contracts and partnership agreements and range of successful funding applications to local and national funding initiatives.  

Considerable experience of developing business initiatives to drive successful organisations in line with Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) priorities. 

Experience in management and delivery of excellent communication campaigns, tools and teams (D). 

Understanding of need in the Bedfordshire County (D).

We are seeking a creative and proactive individual to join our team as Innovation Lead (Impact and Evaluation). At the Leadership Skills Foundation, we believe that research should do more than just collect data. It should drive real-world solutions that improve the lives of the young people we serve.

Currently the organisation supports around 100,000 learners each year. As an innovation team our key priority is to ensure our learners experience high quality programmes that are relevant to them now and for their futures.  

In 2023, we launched our Evolve strategy to broaden our offer and we now have leadership skill programmes embedded across more age groups and subjects than ever. This has seen us develop exciting new partnerships and programmes such as our Environment Leaders Programme with WWF and RSPB and a new programme for primary school learners called the Shape Your Skills Award.

 As Innovation Lead (Impact and Evaluation), you will use data and insights to support innovation, shape our programmes, and maximise impact. This dynamic role requires a creative thinker who can blend research with fresh ideas, experiment with new approaches, and turn insights into action.

Role purpose: 

• Develop a timely, flexible and engaging approach for evaluating and measuring impact. For the benefit of the organisation, learners, centres and partners.
• Provide insights and practical recommendations to help shape and improve learning programmes, ensuring they remain relevant and impactful.
• Lead and report on our social impact for all stakeholders including internal and external.  

Main duties and responsibilities 

Develop and implement practical methods to evaluate and work with the innovation team to improve the impact of our programmes. 

• Communicate insights in a way that drives decision-making, programme improvements, and supports innovation. 
• Lead experimentation and test and learn approaches to help us refine new ideas and scale what works. 
• Work collaboratively with teams to support improvement of our programmes and messaging. 
• Select and apply effective monitoring and evaluation methods that support innovation, while keeping methods agile and efficient. 
• Support teams to collect and analyse data in meaningful ways, ensuring insights are accessible and actionable. 
• Maximise the value of evidence produced through effective communication with stakeholders.
• Lead commissioned research contracts, including monitoring progress, reviewing and editing reports and managing relationships to enhance our programme offer.
• Foster collaborative internal relationships throughout the organisation and support evaluation activities undertaken by other colleagues.

About the Role

This senior role is responsible for ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and the accurate and timely reporting of financial information. You will lead on statutory financial reporting, audit, treasury management and tax compliance, supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational decision-making.

Working closely with the Director of Finance and key internal and external stakeholders, your work will ensure the charity's financial integrity, transparency, and efficiency and will directly support National Star’s ability to deliver high-quality services to those who need them most.

We seek a highly-skilled social care professional to join the senior team of our leading local charity, who will provide high-quality support to family carers of adults with a learning disability and/or autism in the London Borough of Merton.

Could this be you?

You will conduct Carers Assessments in which you identify the needs of carers to determine the support they require, which may include financial support, respite care for the person they care for, and practical assistance.  You will form Support Plans with carers which show the ways in which support will be provided to improve their health and wellbeing, and help them in their caring role, and you will assist carers to access appropriate support.  Your periodic reviews with carers will monitor the effectiveness of Support Plans to ensure carers continue to receive the help they need. 

You will work closely with colleagues, the charity’s partners and other organisations to coordinate care and support for carers, facilitating introductions with other care providers and ensuring carers receive information to help them in their caring role.  Key to your work is ensuring services ‘join-up’ so that coordinated, highly professional support is provided to carers.

You will maintain a record of your work by using our databases which you will use to produce quarterly reports and case studies demonstrating the impact of your work.

This role is an important feature of the charity’s strategic offer for family carers.  You will join our senior team dedicated to providing the highest quality care, and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the wider work of the charity such as by attending our frequent events, workshops and social events for carers.

This role is a hybrid position - duties can be undertaken from home, from our offices in Morden, and by conducting home-visits with carers by appointment.

Our Area Leads are new roles that will add capacity and strength to our team of Bereavement Practitioner’s, Family support workers and volunteers across a defined geographic area. The roles will work with the Head of Service delivery and lead Sandy Bear activity across their designated area, develop strong links across a variety of networks and forums to ensure our beneficiaries access the right support, at the right time.

These roles are great for those passionate about having the opportunity to support our families directly, whilst also being involved in broader development work to enable strong collaborations and partnerships which empower people to achieve better outcomes.

We can't do it alone, so you will spend time working with other organisations and services in collaboration to ensure we don't duplicate provision, instead focussing on gaps in services supporting bereavement for Children, young people and families.
