Whizz Kidz is transforming. It is an exciting time to join us as Partnerships Development Manager as we embark on an ambitious strategy for the next three years. As a senior member of the Corporate Partnerships team this role will work closely with the Head of Partnerships and play a key role in identifying, securing, developing and delivery of long-term relationships with companies – both large and small – so we increase the number, scale and value of corporate partnerships with the goal of providing more sustainable support for Whizz-Kidz. To achieve this, you will play a leading role in proactively identifying, researching and quantifying opportunities across priority sectors, manage your own prospect pipeline and work with internal teams to create a clear case for support that will help deliver long term shared purpose and shared value partnerships with clear synergies. Over 75,000 young people aren’t getting the wheelchair or support that fully meets their needs. Without the ability to be independent young wheelchair users are restricted in their ability to socialise and participate in society.

The Fundraising and communications team at Whizz Kidz raises around 95% of the income to fund the work of the charity and supports the generation of funds through on and offline publications, develops our social media and website presence and leads on PR activities.
The person
As the Whizz Kidz Partnership Development Manager you will be expected to get into the heart of the organisation, understand our ambitions and use your passion, knowledge and skills to help identify and deliver new mutually beneficial corporate partnerships. You will the experience and knowledge of how to identify and quantify the right opportunities for Whizz Kidz and know what it takes to win and manage different types of partnerships – employee engagement, strategic and brand and commercial. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable presenting and willing to develop and learn new skills. You will be keen to play a key role within the fundraising and marcomms team to help maintain a positive culture, use your strong relationship management skills internally and externally, help increase brand awareness and unlock vital income to create positive change for young wheelchair users and their families.
Key accountabilities
• A key role in the Partnerships team focused on generating long term sustainable income (unrestricted/restricted) from the corporate sector by developing income first multi-year employee engagement, strategic and commercial partnerships.
• Create and deliver engaging and targeted new business proposals, pitches and presentations as well as creating compelling and persuasive case for support with innovative, commercially-minded ideas to secure and establish successful new partnerships.
• Lead role in helping the Partnerships team achieve its financial targets through new and existing partnerships while working closely with Head of Partnerships to monitor income against budget and develop financial reports.
• Lead role in researching and quantifying opportunities alongside identifying and cultivating relationships with new prospects with a view to securing face to face meetings, delivering presentations and securing long-term support.

We create opportunities for young wheelchair users to get the equipment, skills, and confidence to go further.
The University of Essex is excited to have formed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the Minstead Trust. The Minstead Trust is a charity based in Hampshire, which works in collaboration with people with learning disabilities and their family carers, to enable them to achieve greater independence and live happier and healthier lives. One of their main areas of work is accommodation support. As they transition into adult accommodation support services, adults with a learning disability, their family carers, and Minstead Trust accommodation support staff form a tripartite relationship through which support is planned and delivered within the Minstead Trust. However, to date practices in support provision have differed, leading to miscommunications, relationship difficulties, and some areas of inconsistency and discontinuity in provided support and living circumstances. There are also often difficulties experienced during the transition from child to adult learning disability services. These are sector wide issues, which ultimately impact service users’ participation in the various activities and occupations that provide meaning, purpose, and routine within their everyday lives.
The KTP will last for 24 months and utilise a participatory action research (PAR) approach to engage relevant stakeholders who comprise and surround the tripartite relationship described above. Together they will co-produce, implement, and evaluate distinct new ways of working. These new ways of working will revolutionise engagement between adults with learning disabilities, their family carers, and Minstead Trust staff, and lead to improved experiences for all stakeholders.
As a KTP, the KTP Associate role constitutes more than just the completion of a research project, as the focus of the role is to facilitate knowledge transfer between the University and the Minstead Trust. A key objective is that the KTP also embeds the capability of co-production within the Minstead Trust through staff engagement and support. Co-production involves partnership working towards a mutually defined aim, where everyone connected with an issue plays an active part, and existing skills, experience and knowledge are valued and utilised (Pettican et al, 2022).

In this vital role, you will focus on securing new and managing existing corporate partnerships in the Derbyshire and North Leicestershire area to generate essential income for Rainbows Children's Hospice, enabling us to continue providing outstanding care and support to babies, children, young people, and their families.
Hours of work: This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with the very occasional evening or weekend for Events.

• Actively contribute to the delivery of the trust fundraising strategy, including working to identify and research potential new sources of trust, statutory and multilateral funding, to meet agreed targets.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of an annual work plan and pipeline for the trust fundraising programme, including time-sensitive applications, to grow income.
• Assist in the development and submission of funding applications to statutory and multilateral sources (such as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and United Nations), working with colleagues to identify opportunities and develop projects and proposals.
• Write clear, concise and compelling proposals, and feedback reports for successful applications, and submit in a timely manner.
• Develop new and existing trust relationships through exemplary stewardship (feedback reports, mailings, phone calls, face to face, etc) to maximise long-term income, secure new sources of funding, upgrade existing levels of giving, repeat donations and multi-year funding.
• Work with SPANA colleagues to identify and maintain a list of suitable projects (that would particularly appeal to potential trust funders) and provide appropriate narrative and financial feedback reports on specific projects and restricted funds (for funders and internal purposes).
• Organise events, visits, meetings and other appropriate activities as required, to encourage and maintain support from trusts
• Assist in the development of events for trusts and major donors and represent SPANA at both SPANA events and external meetings, to cultivate relationships with the aim of securing income.
• Contribute to the development and production of SPANA fundraising, marketing and communications materials, to support trusts fundraising activities.
• Programme support and administration
• Work to a set income and expenditure budget, setting targets in collaboration with line manager.
• Provide regular reports and information on progress, targets and income generated.
• Maintain accurate records of trusts fundraising activities on our CRM database.
• Ensure all work runs to set procedures and timelines, whilst providing exemplary stewardship.

Other
• Ensure all SPANA’s trust fundraising activities are legally compliant, in keeping with our values and adherent to due diligence and our Acceptance or Refusal of Donations Policy.

The Job
Tiko is a fast-growing and ambitious African non-profit linking vulnerable girls and women to sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence support services in Sub-Saharan Africa via our innovative digital platform. A recent transformational multi-million pound grant is kick-starting us on our way to taking our fundraising and our organization to the next level. As such, we are looking for a experienced, driven New Business Development Lead with a solid track record in personally securing 6 – 7 figure grants from new donors, whether government, institutional, INGOs and/or large trusts and foundations, to join our NBD team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to:
- Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify high quality new donor leads for Tiko and proactively track and respond to large funding opportunities and RFPs, helping us continuously build and enhance our prospect pipeline
- Carry out detailed research and mappings to identify existing links with potential donors, whether through our leadership, Board, donors etc. and recommend pathways to relationship building
- Lead and manage the full proposal development process - from identification of the funding opportunity and detailed review of eligibility/suitability to assess our likelihood of success, through to creating buy-in around responsibilities and timelines, motivating and organizing internal stakeholders, guiding players through every step in the proposal process, gathering inputs from technical leads, working with finance teams on budget development, creating supplementary materials, to rolling up your sleeves and writing the proposal and supporting documents as required (Theories of Change, Risk Matrices, Log Frames etc.).
- Deliver significant funding from new donors (candidates will be expected to show evidence of winning funding of a minimum of 6 figures)
- Create high quality fundraising materials tailored to the needs of specific donor audiences e.g. concept notes, slide decks etc.
- Support the systematization and increased efficiency of fundraising at Tiko through timely updating of Salesforce, and general best practice usage of our tools and project management system (Asana).

About You

Donor Management (~40%)

- Provide administrative support to the Partnerships and Development team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials for donor presentations.
- Assist with special projects and additional fundraising and partnership tasks as needed.

What skills we’re looking for:
· Experience in fundraising, donor management, or business development, with proven success in partnership building and substantial (ideally 6-7 figure) revenue generation.
· Ideally, Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Nonprofit Management, Business Development, Marketing, or related field.
· Superior communication and writing skills, with the ability to edit text written by others and generate new text; experience in crafting compelling pitches and proposals.
· High proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce) and data management (experience with donor databases preferred).
· Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines and use project management software (Notion) to plan and track projects and work collaboratively across teams.
· Experience with grant management, writing and corporate engagement strategies.
· Experience with financial reporting and analysis in Excel/Google Suite.
· Strong understanding of sustainability issues, trends and the philanthropy sector, with a track record of aligning donor objectives with environmental and social responsibility.
· Experience working internationally and collaborating with people in diverse cultural and political contexts preferred.
· Ability to work independently and remotely in a dynamic and fast paced team environment.
· Strong alignment with Travalyst’s mission to promote sustainable travel and tourism.
· Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, corporate partners, and foundations, ensuring long-term engagement and revenue growth.
· Ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies that align with organisational goals.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling proposals, presentations, and campaigns; and an ability to articulate Travalyst’s mission and impact in a way that inspires giving.
· Expertise in utilising CRM systems (Salesforce) to manage donor data, generate reports, and assess fundraising performance, deadlines and follow-ups.
· A commitment to delivering high-quality work while holding oneself accountable for achieving measurable results. Ability to set and meet high standards for performance, ensuring transparency and integrity in all fundraising activities.
· Understanding of financial principles related to fundraising, budgeting, and forecasting; and skilled in tracking fundraising metrics and using data to optimise strategies.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.
