About the role
The role of the Project Officer - International Development (POID) is to support the PBLS team’s mission to advance the UN SDGs by brokering pro bono legal assistance from legal experts in support of international NGOs. The POID will do this by engaging PBLS’s existing network of international NGOs, expanding this network by connecting with new international NGOs, and providing international development expertise to support and enhance the services and products within PBLS.
The POID will engage CSOs/NGOs globally to build partnerships and identify needs for pro bono legal assistance. This role will also support PBLS objective in brokering international pro bono legal opportunities to fulfil these needs, by connecting legal experts/expertise with CSOs/NGOs, including the weekly circulation of pro bono projects to legal partners or long-term and more complex strategic projects. About You

About the Role
This is the primary role with responsibility for the delivery and assurance of core digital, data, technology, and related functions at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, at both a strategic and implementation level. Summary of role purpose
Senior fundraising and development role at a pioneering, mid-sized climate-change journalism non-profit with a seven-figure budget. Overall responsibility for developing, securing and managing a trusts and foundations pipeline – during an important organisational inflection point -- to help grow a sustainable, financially substantial and long-term income stream for our programmes, core and new activities. Working strategically with senior leadership and staff to maximise existing income sources and identify and evaluate new sources of income, including those beyond philanthropic donations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Research and recommend funding opportunities for current and planned programmes at a dynamic, climate-change charity with a strong track record, team, and culture. Manage and organise initial enquiries, funding applications, follow-ups, and learnings from feedback.
· Draft clear and compellingly written fundraising materials, including cases for support, funding proposals and concept notes.
· Manage / support relationships with funders, including timely appropriate tailored funder reports and other communications.
· Oversee the preparation of bespoke, accurate and clear grant reports, rooted in our measurement, evaluation and learning strategy, along with other fundraising materials
· Work strategically with the senior management team (SMT) to develop plans to maximise income to achieve annual fundraising targets and, together with the editorial and leadership teams, meet with funders and donors to understand their interests, priorities and present proposals.

The Individual Giving Manager will report into the Senior Individual Giving Manager and is responsible for delivering key Individual Giving campaigns and projects, including our stewardship retention programme via a range of direct marketing channels, in order to drive income and achieve our strategic objectives. You will also be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, continuous improvement and success of our Individual Giving campaigns that provide low risk, unrestricted income - crucial to our future growth as an organisation.
The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for helping to devise, and then deliver, our Individual Giving retention programme to our warm donor base – which includes Regular Giving Upgrade, Reactivation and Cash to Conversion campaigns, as well as Cash appeals, Stewardship communications and welcome journeys for new donors. You will work with a range of channels including telemarketing, email, SMS and direct mail. We are not aiming to replicate existing Individual Giving models, so you will take a bold and pioneering approach to mass marketing and stewardship, breaking down conventional barriers to achieve transformational growth.
You will be experienced in direct marketing – creating compelling propositions and content, able to plan and carry out sophisticated stewardship journeys, whilst ensuring there are robust systems and processes in place to execute superb supporter care.
You will work closely with the Acquisition team to ensure activities are optimised and integrated at all times. You will have a strong campaign management approach (from planning to evaluation) and be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, continuous improvement and success of each campaign you deliver, using data and insights to shape future campaigns and helping to grow unrestricted and sustainable income.
Your responsibilities:
- To be responsible for delivering War Child’s Individual Giving supporter retention programme, including cash and emergency appeals, warm telemarketing (upgrade, reactivation and C2C), welcome journeys and a series of engagement communications across the year. Our multi-channel approach requires a good knowledge of telemarketing, email, SMS and direct mail, as well as KPI monitoring, analysis and learning for the continuous improvement and success of the programme. You may also be required to carry out some Regular Giving acquisition activity as needed.
- To work closely with the Acquisition team and Senior Individual Giving Manager, to ensure all campaigns and supporter journeys are well planned, joined up, and motivate potential and existing supporters with a personalised and rewarding experience. This includes the planning and delivery of strategic supporter journeys, and creating new processes to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency across the programme.

You are:
- An experienced Individual Giving fundraiser, with demonstrable knowledge of mass market channels, supporter retention campaigns and direct marketing principles, ideally gained within an international development or humanitarian NGO setting so you can present War Child’s work with authority.
- Someone with a proven track record of successful fundraising results, maximising the potential income across every campaign you are responsible for, and delivering against income targets to budget and on schedule.

- Work related experience of conducting research either desk-based/legal research and/or participative research directly with stakeholders

Role outline and purpose
The Network Services Manager builds and maintains network-facing central services that are effective and dynamic, evolving in line with members’ requirements. Ensuring a coordinated approach to first-response technical services to food banks, communications to the network, and provision of solutions-focused responses to support the network to work towards an end to the need for food banks in the UK.
Role responsibilities
· Provide leadership, direction, support and line management. This will include regular 1:1s and annual reviews to ensure objectives and key results are met.
· Monitor and manage the delivery of central communications to network members, the delivery of response to member and public enquiries. Ensure an accurate record of activities is maintained, that the effectiveness of the information, advice and guidance provided is measured and reported.
· Lead on and/or oversee the delivery of food bank and interdepartmental projects. Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the Trust and collaborate on projects.
· Support the Network Services team to develop and deliver an effective and integrated roll out and support plan for each food bank facing project and the Data Collection System.
· Build a culture of sound evaluation and learning in the team and beyond, including monitoring the performance and delivery of training and support provided by Network Services and applying this to decision making and service delivery.
· Develop and implement team business as usual and strategy planning, working with the Head of Network Support and Grant Giving to balance innovation, investment and overall direction for transformational change.
