About the role:
The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.
About You:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.

As the first point of contact for supporters, the Supporter Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service across the charity's brands. This position involves managing a diverse range of supporter inquiries through various communication channels, responding within a 48-hour timeframe to uphold the team's Service Level Agreement. The coordinator will efficiently handle a wide range of essential activities, such as donations and complaints, while maintaining accurate records in the fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge) to enhance the supporter experience.
The ideal candidate will be adept with data management and eager to improve processes across the organization. By collaborating closely with fundraising teams and the Supporter Care Manager, the coordinator will contribute to refining systems that enhance fundraising efforts. This role emphasizes a supporter-led approach, ensuring that every interaction is handled with care, ultimately solidifying the success of the entire fundraising team.
Customer care
- Act as the initial contact for supporters via email, telephone, and post, providing outstanding customer service.
- Engage with supporters consistently, kindly and with empathy to aid their stewardship, retainment and satisfaction

Complaint resolution

- Escalating complaints promptly to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure resolutions can be provided within our SLA and policy
- Contribute to the quarterly reporting exercise with compliance
Donor care
- Accurately record all interactions with donors and supporters in the fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge).
- Handle and process donations and setting up direct debits over the phone
- Respond promptly and sensitively to donor requests such as cancelling and altering direct debits, allocating donations to special funds and updating Gift Aid information
- Ensure all acknowledgement letters are kept up to date with accurate information and branding
- Support the Gift Processing team to thank donors promptly within agreed timelines and ensure all communications being added to the fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge).
Delivering processes
- Follow step-by-step processes for managing data in MS Excel which support our database team in their imports the fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge).
- Keep all process documentation up to date and report discrepancies to the database team
- Writing up process documentation and occasionally training others to follow them
Collaboration
- Build and maintain productive relationships with fundraising teams, supporting them with posting out materials and supporter requests
- Working closely with the Trust Engagement manager to improve the supporter experience by facilitating good working processes and event fulfilment
- Share supporter stories and ideas related to enhancing the supporter experience with wider public fundraising and innovation team
- Build strong relationships with the Gift Processing team to support their work in improving donor care
- Build good working relationships with external suppliers, especially face to face fundraising agencies ensuring they meet our standards of supporter care and promptly reporting issues to the Individual Giving team
- Supporting the events team during busier seasons and helping to manage increases in activity
- Support the individual giving team with outbound calling as needed for specific activations

RC’s Technical Excellence team is comprised of five teams or sector “Units” which have deep expertise in their respective fields: Education, Economic Wellbeing, Governance, Health, and Violence Prevention and Response, as well as teams which provide measurement and finance/grant management support. Technical teams are also matrixed with a team that focuses on the quality and content of cross-sectoral programming in emergency responses.
IRC’s Technical Excellence teams offer five core services to IRC country programs and the wider organization:
1. Program Design: We support country and regional teams to design state of the art programming, incorporating the best available evidence, cost data, and expertise of what has worked elsewhere, with the knowledge that country teams, partner organizations and our clients bring to the table.
2. Quality Assurance: We partner with our measurement teams to design and drive the use of indicators to measure progress towards outcomes; we partner with regional and country teams to review program delivery progress and help address implementation challenges and adapt interventions to changed circumstances.
3. Business Development: We partner within and outside the IRC to design winning bids and identify winning consortia; we deploy technical expertise in public events and private meetings to position IRC as a partner of choice.
4. Research & Learning: We partner with our research lab to design cutting edge research to fill evidence gaps, and with country teams to learn from implementation such that we continuously improve our future design and delivery.
5. External Influence: We showcase the IRC’s programs, technical insights and learning in order to influence and improve the humanitarian sector’s policy and practice.
Technical Excellence is currently going through a change process called "Regional and Technical Alignment." We are doing this to ensure that the impact of our programs and the influence of our ideas create meaningful change for people affected by crisis. This next phase of IRC's commitment to program quality will more deliberately resource and link global thought leadership with practice on the ground. Updated Technical Unit structures will have new roles with clearer mandates. The Global Practice Lead is a new leadership role introduced by this change process.
Economic Recovery and Development Technical Unit (ERD TU)
The ERD TU is a dynamic team of more than 30 professionals responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of client-centered economic wellbeing (EWB) programs. These include, but not limited to, cash and voucher assistance (CVA), agricultural & climate-resilient livelihoods, financial inclusion, and employment (including self-employment) promotion across emergency, recovery and resilience programming contexts. The TU’s technical assistance to this wide variety of programs ensures quality and use of evidence-based practices; promotes innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion; and drives data-based management and decision making, with a focus on promoting local partnerships, to achieve positive change in people’s lives.
Job Overview
The Global Practice Lead (GPL) in Economic Inclusion is the organizational leader for enterprise development, employment and financial inclusion programming for the Crisis Response, Recovery and Development (CRRD) department and is a core member of the ERD TU’s leadership team. They are responsible for devising and leading strategies to raise the quality, impact, and scale of IRC’s EI programming.
The GPL will ensure the scope, quality and relevance of global technical standards, including the generation and promotion of evidence in their technical area. The GPL will closely collaborate with Regional Leads, Technical Advisors, and Technical Coordinators in promoting technical best practice in CRRD programming. They will facilitate TU-led and high-impact strategic business development by providing excellent technical insights and developing and maintaining strategic relationships and networks. In line with the Economic Wellbeing (EWB) strategy, the GPL will lead strategic planning for the Economic Inclusion practice area. The GPL reports into the Senior Director, ERD TU, and will manage highly specialized enterprise development, employment and financial inclusion experts/specialists to lead the generation and use of evidence and best practices in TU-led strategic projects.
Major Responsibilities
Strategy, Program Design and Business Development
• Act as the organizational leader for CRRD in Economic Inclusion (EI) programming internally and externally
• Lead strategic direction and Delivery Planning for EI programming in line with the EWB strategy
• Responsible for identifying global areas of programmatic risk in EI programming and elevating issues to Regional Leads and TU leadership
• Collaborate with other GPLs to promote integrated program designs within ERD and across all IRC sectors that increase scale and deepen impact
• Lead Technical Unit led global business development for EI programming and support strategic project level proposals
• Lead coordination with AMU to drive fundraising from Public and Institutional donors and with ER to drive fundraising from Private donors to meet strategic priorities related to EI programming at IRC.
• Oversee TU-led strategic EI awards, working closely with regional Technical Advisors as applicable and the Grant Operations and Analytics Team
• Line manage global enterprise development, employment and financial inclusion specialists, TU-led Project Directors as applicable, and co-manage any shared staff with other GPLs.
Global Practice Implementation Support
• Responsible for drawing on evidence-based best practice to provide technical oversight of IRC’s global EI technical standards, methodologies, and tools
• Accountable for the development of a limited number of high-value tools and methodologies to better integrate cross-cutting issues into EI programs (e.g., gender equality, diversity and inclusion, climate adaptation, etc.).
• Accountable for establishing information and knowledge management systems that support Regional Leads and Technical Advisors stay up to date on global technical standards, methodologies, and tools
• Establish competency framework for EI and work closely with Regional Leads to identify competency gaps and drive capacity strengthening
• Accountable for ensuring Technical Advisors and Technical Coordinators have the tools and resources that are needed to measure EI programming
• Support Technical Advisors and Technical Coordinators with thorny technical problems, career planning support, and mentorship, as appropriate
Research, Data, Knowledge Management, and Organizational Learning
• Accountable for establishing and maintaining a Community of Practice and other channels for the EI practice area to ensure pro-active and inclusive management with sustained learning, development, innovation, and best practice sharing
• Coordinate with Regional Leads and Technical Advisors to lift up program learning for cross-sharing and incorporation into global best practice
• Guide research and evidence use efforts for EI, working closely with colleagues and leaders in Airbel, ERD TU, other technical units, and regional colleagues
• Provide technical inputs to EI-specific MEAL tools and methodologies, and support data interpretation in learning routines
External Influence, Relationships and Representation
• Act as a key strategic advisor to Policy & Advocacy, Research & Innovation, and External Relations teams on advocacy campaigns and priority policy and practice shifts related to EI programming
• Responsible for identification, development, and maintenance of strategic relationships and global partnerships with relevant stakeholders (e.g. donors, UN agencies, NGOs, research and educational institutions, private sector actors) in the EI space.

We’re looking for an experienced public affairs professional to join our Campaigns and Public Affairs team to support all of our parliamentary activity. About the role
In this busy role, you will assist in the delivery of legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels, including digital, telemarketing, legacy events and direct mail, and help to promote gifts in wills to internal audiences too. Knowledge wise we are looking for strong understanding of labour markets and development economics; excellent data analysis skills; project finance/private sector experience could be advantageous.

Job description
- Gross Annual Salary: £45,000 full-time pro rata (post offered at 0.6 FTE i.e. £27,000 with the potential to rise to 1 FTE). In addition, IEEP UK matches pension contributions up to 6% of gross salary.
- Hours: 0.6 FTE (21 hours / 3 days per week), with potential to expand.
- Location: Remote working - IEEP UK currently has no permanent office space. Therefore, in line with the whole IEEP UK team, the post will be home-based, with regular travel to London, other parts of the UK, Brussels and other parts of Europe as required.

- Annual Leave: 18.5 days Annual Leave based on 0.6FTE (comprises of 14 days Basic Annual Leave + FTE proportion of public holidays) rising annually to a top limit of 23 days

The Institute for European Environmental Policy UK[1] (IEEP UK) is a UK registered charity and a not-for-profit sustainability think tank, with over 40 years of experience, based in the UK. As part of the broader IEEP family across Europe, we are dedicated to working with government, civil society, academia and a range of other stakeholders, including European, United Nations and other international bodies, civil society, academia, scientific institutes and business and industry to produce evidence-based research for impact-driven environmental policy solutions. Our work covers both short-term and long-term strategic environmental issues in the UK and its constituent nations as well as their interaction with policy in Europe and globally. Over the years IEEP has developed new concepts that have made their way into mainstream environmental thinking, underpinning many aspects of this policy area today, including work on the precautionary principle, environmental impact assessments, emissions trading schemes and public money for public goods.
This is an exciting time for IEEP UK. Under the leadership of the chair of trustees, Malini Mehra, IEEP UK has developed a new strategy up to 2027, striving to grow from a currently small staff, becoming more visible and claiming a leading role in providing innovative research and policy relevant intelligence. As part of this, Ben Reynolds joined in the role of Executive Director in October 2023.
Overall role and responsibilities
We are seeking to employ an experienced finance and operations professional to play a central role in our UK team as we grow. We are looking for a candidate with excellent financial and operations skills and experience, who will thrive working in a small and dynamic team.
The successful candidate will join a cohesive, impact-oriented and supportive team that is committed to the professional development of all of its staff, and where the opportunities for learning and for making a difference are high. This is a new role, with a high potential to have a big impact on the organisation by establishing new ways of working.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
1. Financial Management
- Be responsible for and run the organisation’s bookkeeping and financial management processes including invoices, expenses and bank payments.
- Produce and manage the organisational cash flow, project cash flows and management accounts.
- Be responsible for and run payroll monthly.
- Compile and submit VAT returns quarterly.
- Support the Executive Director with managing the charity and project budgets and financial reporting to the board and funders.
- Work with the organisation’s Accountant and trustees to support the production of Annual Accounts and Independent Examination.
2. Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of the charity to promote smooth business operations, including the efficiency of organisational systems.
- Ensure that appropriate insurance cover is maintained, and manage any claims as they arise.
- Support the Executive Director with board meetings and other board matters.
- Support Executive Director and trustees in ensuring Charity Commission and Companies House information is up to date.
- Support the maintenance of our contacts databas
3. HR
- Manage recruitment and induction of new staff and volunteers.
- Create, implement and review all policies and procedures for the organisation, ensuring we are up to date with statutory requirements, and good practice is incorporated where practical.
- Manage HR procedures including contracts and leave for staff.
The role will also include:
- Support in organising events online and in person.
- Assisting in responses to general enquiries to the organisation.
- Potential line management of junior staff and interns as appropriate.
- Contribute actively to the implementation of Institute-wide decisions and strategy.
- Organise weekly team meetings, and occasional in-person team meetings.
- Supporting and promoting diversity and equality of opportunity in the organisation.
Personal Specification
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate many of the following skills and attributes:
Essential:
- A relevant professional accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with some experience of working independently or with minimal supervision, preferably in the charity sector.
- At least 3 years’ relevant professional experience in a similar administrative, financial or management role.
- Experience of using accounting software and managing the financial administration of an organisation including paying and issuing invoices, reconciling bank accounts, and running payroll.
- Experience and confidence in producing and managing an organisational cashflow, budgets and management accounts.
- Experience of preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Experience of creating and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills
- As part of a small team you will also need the ability to turn your hand to a variety of tasks.
- Entitlement to work in the UK (IEEP UK is not able to assist with applications for work permits)
Desirable:
- Background, interest and experience in environmental policy, and the UK’s relationship with the EU and the rest of Europe.
- Experience and aptitude in using MS Teams, Zoom, Miro or other online meeting, webinar and facilitation tools, as a participant and as an organiser.
- Experience of producing project budgets and reporting to funders.
- Skills in digital communications and social networking.
- Experience of charity administration.
- Experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders including trustees.
- A knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion best practice.
- Availability to commence work promptly following the recruitment process.

About the role
The purpose of the direct marketing executive role is to support the charity’s prize-led fundraising activity, which currently consists of two products – the Breast Cancer Now raffle and the Pink Ribbon lottery. Working closely with the direct marketing officers, you will assist in delivering a wide-range of campaigns across multiple channels (direct mail, email, telemarketing, digital and face-to-face marketing), which recruit and retain supporters to these products. And, you’ll provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team and the lottery.
The workload is varied and an average day might consist of proof-reading campaign materials, processing invoices, recording campaign results, helping to brainstorm ideas for an upcoming campaign, briefing internal teams, calling a lottery winner, helping to resolve queries, shadowing our face-to-face fundraisers, or writing copy for an email campaign.

About you
You might be looking for your first role in a fundraising, or direct marketing. You have excellent communication skills; you’d be at ease liaising with external suppliers, briefing internal teams, and could turn your hand to writing compelling copy for our direct marketing activity. You’d enjoy a role with a variety of responsibilities, including some administrative support but also having creative input into direct marketing activity. You can use your excellent time-management and organisational skills to complete a varied work-load, always working to agreed targets and deadlines.
