About the programme

As well as a commitment to the organisations we work with, we have a commitment to our people and developing the next generation of leaders within the social impact, consultancy and evaluation sectors. We are excited to launch our two-year career and leadership development programme which will provide an opportunity to work within, and rotate between, our organisational practices.

We are delighted that you are interested in joining the Social Impact Fast Track. In the first year of your programme you will join the team as an Analyst and, subject to successful completion of year one, in year two you will progress to Senior Analyst. During your two-year programme you will work within at least two of our organisational practices. You will work directly with our partners, understanding their needs and supporting them to maximise their impact. During the programme you will also lead pro-bono projects for our corporate social responsibility partners.

In addition to gaining experience with our partners and within our teams, you will undertake a structured learning and development programme which includes mentoring from one of our Group Directors, and regular learning and development sessions including a dedicated professional development budget. Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board. You will also have the opportunity to have a two-week placement in one of our partner organisations, to help you develop your professional skill set. At the end of the programme we expect a number of participants to apply for and progress into our Officer and Manager roles, or look to secure positions with our partners or other like minded social purpose organisations.

YMCA DownsLink Group has been delivering counselling and therapeutic services to children, young people and families through our YMCA Dialogue Service in community and school settings for over 25 years.

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our innovative and skilled counselling service to lead operational plans in line with organisation strategy and local strategic priorities, designing and developing a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of children and young people aged 11 to 18 years. You will manage and review performance against contract KPI’s and support the engagement of service users in co-production and participatory activities.

In delivering the role, you will work closely with the Clinical Lead, Team Managers and Head of Service, you will manage the continuing growth and development of our community-based children and young people’s counselling and wellbeing services in West Sussex. You will hold operational responsibility for the West Sussex Single Point of Access (SPOA) partnership, working alongside SPFT and the Youth Emotional Support service management and delivery teams to provide an effective referral pathway to support services for children and young people in West Sussex.

In addition, you will manage the development and operational delivery of services, providing line management support to the team, and be accountable for the financial performance of the service through the setting, administering and review of budgets. You will work closely with senior colleagues to assess business opportunities, tendering for and maintaining contracts.

You will already have experience of working in a managerial or Lead capacity in Counselling and Mental Health Services for Children and Young People. Main Responsibilities

• To cover frontline duties, including accommodation, community and activities settings as needed, attending reliably and on time in order to ensure continuous cover.
• To act as a Duty Manager, including dealing with any staffing or other issues arising during periods of duty in accordance with set procedures.
• To provide an out-of-hours On Call service on a rota basis with two or three others, responding effectively to concerns.  This will include finding cover in the case of sickness or other absence, or covering a shift at very short notice when no other cover is available. 
• To take on appropriate administrative, leadership, reviewing or project duties including during periods of illness, leave and vacancies.
• To be accountable for delegated responsibilities appropriate to your experience, which are likely to include working with children and young people in individual or group settings, fundraising and communications work.

• To oversee minor and / or occasional staffing issues as required, and to take responsibility for particular staff and volunteers over longer periods.

A little bit about the role 

We seek a graduate with excellent communication skills for our Recruitment team. You must be able to manage data, multitask, and adapt to dynamic environments. Enhance Frontline’s social worker training selection process with autonomy and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

We think the internship at Frontline is unlike other internships. You’ll be given plenty of opportunity to develop key skills for your future career, while also holding a core role within the team. You will be joining us at our busiest time and so will have day to day coordinator responsibilities throughout the year. This makes it a great first step into your career as you’ll have real practical examples to take forward. You will work with the Selection Manager and Selection Officers to ensure the delivery of a highly effective and efficient recruitment process and to ensure the candidate experience is positive throughout.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Facilitate at Approach Social Work assessment centres, supporting assessors and sharing responsibility for ensuring days run smoothly and consistently​
• Manage the logistics involved in planning and delivering over 40 assessment centre days (e.g. responding to candidate queries, monitoring candidate sign up, scheduling assessors)​
• Act as first point of contact for candidates experiencing technical difficulties with IT systems used as part of selection process.

Please note that this is a fixed-term contract for 8 months, starting September 2024

The role would suit a recent graduate with experience in event planning, logistics coordination, or customer service. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented and excels at managing multiple tasks and priorities. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who can support candidates through the selection process, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure smooth operations at assessment centers.

We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. ROLE SUMMARY

This role will report to the Senior Delivery Project Manager responsible for the ongoing development of the Alumni programme. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to guide our Alumni programme development. You will be responsible for organising events and opportunities for Alumni, such as our annual Professional Development Courses, in addition to communicating with both the Alumni group and the wider team about the programme and opportunities within it. You will also support tracking and reporting the impact of our work with Alumni to different stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to participate in the fast-paced and rewarding Future Charities Leaders Programme (FCLP) where no two days are the same, where you can focus on your professional development through the FCLP rotations (20% of your time), designed to build your charity management skills.

GRADUATE SCHEME SUMMARY

Being an Alumni Coordinator is the first step on upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). The FCLP provides you with a unique opportunity to:

• Work directly with our Alumni building their careers and exploring opportunities across different sectors, as well as our partner organisations who support them (4 days per week), while also;

• Gain exposure to various aspects of charity management through 6-month rotations (1 day per week).

• Receive training in Leadership throughout, and have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Leadership and Management after 18 months on the programme (in place of rotations). 

The FCLP is designed either for graduates from any university, academic subject and background - or for those with experience in the corporate world who are looking for a career change and experience in the charity sector. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You will contribute to upReach's mission, by leading upReach’s Alumni Programme, including events and communications, supporting young professionals from lower socio-economic backgrounds  to continue to develop the key skills necessary for progression in the workplace.

You will report directly to the Senior Delivery Project Manager, who will be on hand to provide guidance and support throughout, and who you will have regular check-ins with on a weekly basis.

Key responsibilities include:

1) ENGAGING ALUMNI

Once a student has graduated from university, and subsequently upReach’s core programmes, you will encourage them to engage with a range of activities. You will be responsible for:

• Developing content for our Alumni Platform and drive the use of the platform amongst the Alumni group, maximising the number that update their details, sign up for events and support upReach in a variety of ways.

• Lead on communication about the programme, both with the Alumni group and with the team and other stakeholders.  This includes a monthly Alumni newsletter, whatsapp and social media posts. 

• Lead on the organisation and further development of the Alumni Ambassador Board, including working alongside the Senior Delivery Project Manager to coordinate the logistics of the group, from sending invitations and reminders, as well as organising content.

2) PARTNERSHIPS & EVENTS Our partners make our support possible, and you will gain hands-on experience developing strong relationships with employer partners. The size and complexity of each varies, but you may typically oversee 1-2 large partnerships or 3-4 smaller ones. This includes:

• Being a partner’s first point of contact, and participating in update meetings - for example, updating a funder on Alumni engagement at an event.

• Organising Alumni events (virtual and/or in person): This includes promoting them to Alumni, overseeing logistics, and gathering feedback. 

• Organising Alumni Professional Development Courses (virtual and/or in person). The Professional Development Courses typically involves 5 events focussed on skills necessary to ‘get on, after getting in’. You will be responsible for promoting them to Alumni, overseeing logistics, and gathering feedback. 

• Support the delivery of additional events where Alumni are included, including funding or external engagement events

• Support End of Year Reviews with partners, including data analysis on Alumni engagement and successes - with the aim of ensuring partners renew their agreements.

3) DEVELOP OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALUMNI TO GIVE BACK upReach Alumni are often interested in giving back to upReach after graduation. You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating Alumni volunteering opportunities, including keeping an up to date register of Alumni volunteers and opportunities for them to engage in.

• Collaborating with different teams across upReach, including:

  • External events: coordinating Alumni speakers and volunteers

  • Fundraising: collaborating on fundraising campaigns, specifically targeting Alumni

  • Programmes team: collaborating with different teams across the Associate-facing programmes team, ensuring they are able to access Alumni volunteers for Associate-facing events

4) ROTATIONS IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF CHARITY MANAGEMENT As part of the FCLP programme, you will work on rotational projects designed to give you a greater exposure and understanding of the different areas of charity management. 

You will have a six month rotation in each of the following areas during your first 18 months on the programme: (1) Fundraising, Partnerships and Comms, (2) Operations and Strategy (3) Project and Product Management.

• Each week you will work on projects related to your current rotation (7.5 hours per week). These projects will be agreed with your Rotation Manager, in line with the learning objectives for each rotation.

5) LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

During your initial 18 months on the programme, you will receive training every six weeks on different soft skills within Leadership through an external training provider. This training will take place through a mixture of online and face to face sessions. Training sessions will include: 

• Communication

• Understanding different working styles

• Conflict Management

• Emotional Intelligence

6) WIDER ORGANISATIONAL SUPPORT PCs play their part in helping upReach achieve broader organisational objectives. As a key contact point with Alumni and partners, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness of wider projects. Examples include: encouraging Alumni to make nominations to upReach’s Student Social Mobility Awards; and supporting our HR team with assessing applications to future cohorts of the FCLP.

Collaboration is a key part of upReach’s culture, and as a PC you’ll have the opportunity to work together with a range of different teams across our organisation, including: 

• Fundraising and Events - Who will work with you to spread the word about how Alumni can ‘give back’ to upReach

• Partnerships - Who will support you with managing your partner relationships and look for new opportunities to develop the programme.

How does the Graduate Scheme work?

You’ll be joining our charity as a permanent member of the team.

Our Graduate Scheme provides two years of training and career development and we ask candidates to commit to staying with the charity for at least this duration.

After completing your first year of the programme there will be the opportunity for everyone on the graduate scheme to take on a new challenge and apply for a promotion to Senior Education Worker, subject to satisfactory performance in role.

And after you’ve completed the two-year scheme, you’re guaranteed a position with us - our Graduate Scheme roles are permanent jobs.

New job roles and further promotions are regularly available - many of our Education Workers go on to become Centre Leaders running our centres, or take up promotion opportunities in central operational or Head Office roles.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

We are looking for a Giggle Doctor Programme Administrator to join our busy programme team, to support the day-to-day operations of our Giggle Doctor programme for hospitals.

This is a part-time, one-year contract to support the running of the Giggle Doctor programme while a member of the team is on maternity leave. Administration

· Act as first point of call for artists regarding their visits to hospitals, overseeing sickness, cover and changes to their schedules

· Support artists with hospital administration and contracts

About The Felix Project

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.  

Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. 

We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Purpose of the Job

Based for a minimum of 3 days per week in one of our operational warehouses you will help support Felix’s mission through the development of a network of charities, community groups and other key stakeholders involved supporting vulnerable Londoners across London. Your work will help to build the network’s capacity to accept and distribute food through our depot operations, Green Scheme & Felix Connect and non-food items through Felix’s Multibank. 

Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager the Community Coordinator’s role will focus on Felix’s school holiday provision. You will be involved in the set-up, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the different programmes throughout the year that provides more than 10 million meal equivalents to families across the 13-week school holidays. Developed from Felix’s regular food delivery models to operate at scale innovation has been part of the development of these programmes. As the Community Coordinator you will be expected to help drive the evolution of the provision and where relevant help deploy as part of our business-as-usual delivery.

You will support your peers, the depot and operational teams, responding to enquiries from the community network to help ensure the smooth flow of food and non-food items whilst delivering excellent customer service. This will include ensuring recipients of our food are compliant with all relevant legislation and guidance as required by our food partners and food business operators.
