The Legal team at Citizens Advice provides in-house legal support to national Citizens Advice staff, to enable the charity to maintain its reputation as a trusted charity partner. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a team leadership role, preferably within a refugee support or employment-related context. You will also need experience in outcome monitoring, data analysis, and reporting, and using a CRM (Salesforce/Inform preferable).
This role is starting as soon as possible and running until the end of December in the first instance. It is full time, Monday-Thursday 9am - 5:30pm, and Fridays 9am - 3pm. It is fully remote.

Wingfield Resource Centre is a mental health, supported housing and community-based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
Any big change or life event is likely to be accompanied by a mixture of emotions; becoming a parent is no exception. Parents can feel pressure to be nothing but grateful for parenthood and that having children is only ever rewarding. This makes speaking up about the challenges and asking for help more difficult and can lead to feelings of guilt and shame.
This 2-year pilot service will provide early intervention outreach, offering preventative support to parents of young families living in East Surrey. This support will focus on maintaining positive mental health and well-being, by increasing support and social networks. It will include the offer of a Wellbeing Assessment to identify the person’s needs, digital support tools then signposting or referrals to ongoing community support resources (e.g., reducing isolation, building resilience and peer networks), as well as follow-up appointments to ensure that the support was appropriate, and the person is engaging before closing their placement.
As well as supporting individuals, a part of your role will be to build on networks within these communities, identifying individual needs and working closely with our Waythrough Community Connections team to create opportunities to address those needs.
When adults find it difficult to reach out and access support or even acknowledge their emotions, it's often because of the environment that they have been raised in. We hope that this service could be a small step towards breaking that cycle for these children. By motivating parents of young children to focus on their wellbeing and learn different ways of managing their emotions, we hope that they will pass this knowledge onto their children, along with the attitude that it's not only acceptable, but important to focus on your own wellbeing.

Head of Individual Giving
Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. We now want to develop our individual giving programme to build our unrestricted income and secure our long term growth.
As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. You will lead on individual fundraising relationships and initiatives, including appeals, fundraising campaigns, and all direct marketing activities and communications. You will position us in our supporters’ minds and encourage them to actively support CNK in 2025 and beyond.
Position: Head of Individual Giving
Responsible to: CEO
Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working. We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.
Contract: Permanent. Full-time (35 hours per week) with occasional evening working required. Flexible hours/days possible whilst respecting core hours of 10am-4pm

Annual Corporate and Individual Giving Programmes:

Develop and deliver CNK corporate and individual giving fundraising programme of events, campaigns and appeals to raise £100,000 in 2025.

Work closely with CEO and CNK team members to craft information into compelling copy, asks, supporter updates, social media content and personalised campaign appeals.

Plan and deliver low and mid level individual giving campaigns to cultivate new donors, convert existing supporters from once off donations to regular givers and inspire donors to increase their current support.

Design and deliver our annual major donor giving programme. Cultivate, communicate and inspire new major donors to join us with the aim of increasing our current major donor pool by 10%. Steward current donors, keep in touch, craft compelling asks to support their progression towards more frequent or higher-value donations.

Report monthly to the CEO on the success of campaigns and programming, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and how we will incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future.
Fundraising compliance:

Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.
US Individual Giving Programme:

Contribute towards developing a new US individual giving portfolio through prospect research and crafting compelling fundraising asks.
Staff & Volunteer Management:

Create and manage a volunteer fundraising programme to grow individual giving through community events, social media and awareness raising.

Essential skills and experience:
You will have at least five, ideally eight, years experience of:

Job Purpose

The Regional Director will be responsible for providing strategic and practical insights and follow-through to position and grow IRRI in Africa. The Director will ensure a strong reputation for IRRI in relation to our capability to bring big solutions to issues critical for Africa like rural poverty, resilience and sustainability, nutrition/health and national economic advancements.
The Director will lead the development and implementation of an overall Africa strategy as well as country strategies for IRRI's research needs, outreach, capacity strengthening, partnerships and resource mobilization. This will include identification and development of project opportunities, focusing on key contributions IRRI can make to develop the agriculture and food system in target countries in the region.
The Director will represent IRRI's interests before governments in Africa and liaise closely with relevant government offices and agencies. Act as one of the chief spokespersons for IRRI in Africa and interact with a wide range of national and international partners and donors to seek new opportunities for research and partnerships, including fundraising, private and public-private sector partnerships.
The Director will also advise IRRI management and scientists on regional and national developments, emerging issues for research, new opportunities for funding, and appropriate policies and procedures for working and traveling in the region. Manage IRRI's relations with CGIAR centers, other international organizations and development agencies operating in the region.
This position will be based at the IRRI Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya and is open for international applications.

We are looking for one Support Worker (Community Connector – Assessment and Engagement Team) to join our team in High Wycombe.
Your challenge? To provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans and undertake elements of assessment and case management as directed. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to operate in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of substance use, the Recovery Agenda and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.
Preferably with a NVQ 2/3 in Social Care, or willing to attain this, you are used to working to policy and procedural requirements that include child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety.
We’ll also be looking for good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements. A flexible approach is important too, as is a commitment to taking a client centred approach to providing services and working in a way that recognises and values diversity.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

About Art History Link-Up
Fewer than 1% of state schools offer History of Art A level yet the creative industries provided 2.4 million jobs and generated over £126 billion in 2022. We believe that art history shouldn’t belong to just the handful of people who currently have the opportunity to study it, but that every young person, regardless of background, should be able to enjoy and benefit from our rich visual culture
AHLU is a registered charity offering free courses for state students since 2016. Prior to the pandemic our classes were based at the National Gallery and the Wallace Collection. We moved our classes online as a result of the pandemic with great success. Since September 2022 we have been offering hybrid courses at the Courtauld Institute, Somerset House.
AHLU has taught art history to over 500 students from over 300 schools across the UK. Our alumni are now studying art history at Russell Group universities across the UK, including the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, and the Courtauld Institute.
Since 2022 we’ve been piloting, developing and expanding courses for younger secondary age students, in London and beyond. In 2024 onwards, we are piloting Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) courses, a student-directed qualification equivalent to up to half a GCSE, in collaboration with the Courtauld, Waddesdon Manor, and schools and centres in and outside London. We are working with an external evaluation consultant to ensure we record best practice and outcomes in our work.
We are working with communications consultant, Nadine Thompson, to deliver our ‘art history for everyone’ communications strategy and media campaign as we move towards our tenth anniversary in 2027.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The Humane League is seeking a tenacious, determined, and well-organized individual with deep knowledge of laying hen welfare and the drive to create progressive change for millions of animals. The Temporary Animal Welfare Specialist (known internally as the Temporary Global Technical Lead or Temporary Global Technical Manager) is part of a small, high-impact global team specializing in corporate outreach and policy. The primary focus of this position is to deliver advice on farm animal welfare science to inform animal welfare campaigns and corporate engagement efforts. This requires extensive research and close collaboration with other organizations in the Open Wing Alliance (a global coalition of animal protection groups) to prepare for meetings with food companies and strategize on advocacy tactics from a scientific perspective.
We want you because you are as comfortable reading and writing research papers as you are in the boardroom and on the farm. You have a deep understanding of how the egg industry works and are determined to use this knowledge to improve conditions for laying hens. You are excited to bring your knowledge to advocates around the world and work with them to put theory into practice.
The ideal candidate is passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food and excited about working both independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic environment. While working with autonomy is an important part of this role, strong collaboration and communication skills are also paramount to your success, as is the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Global Animal Welfare.
This is a part-time (32 hours per week), temporary, remote position. The temporary hire will provide coverage while a permanent staff member is on maternity leave, and overlap will be provided for training and onboarding. Employment is expected to be twelve (12) months in duration, beginning on approximately February 3, 2025. The duration of employment may be extended or shortened at The Humane League’s discretion. This position requires both domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more week-long trips per year.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
A Temporary Global Technical Lead is responsible for carrying out the following essential job duties, with close supervision and guidance from the Senior Director of Global Animal Welfare:

Conduct extensive research into the scientific literature and corporate data relating to animal agriculture systems and industries. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the egg industry and laying hen welfare.

Leverage scientific knowledge to inform the work of THL and Open Wing Alliance member groups that are working with major food companies to advance protections for animals within their supply chains. This includes producing animal welfare education materials, preparing and delivering presentations on the science behind proposed welfare policies, and communicating effectively with corporate executives and stakeholders in the animal agriculture industry.

Collaborate cohesively with intra- and inter-departmental team members and Open Wing Alliance member groups to coordinate on strategic initiatives.

Track industry progress, working closely with THL’s other welfare specialists and Global Research & Insights Analyst when required.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for the Temporary Global Technical Lead position is £29,963.20 - £36,621.60 GBP, and the compensation range for the Temporary Global Technical Manager position is £34,316.80 - £41,943.20 GBP. Power for Democracies is a new international pro-democracy research initiative with a mission to protect and strengthen liberal democracies around the world. Our goal is to identify the most relevant and effective pro-democracy projects by civil society organisations in the context of current and emerging threats to democracies.
Power for Democracies identifies these projects by systematically synthesising and analysing existing research and, where necessary, conducting and commissioning new research. Communication and outreach are critical to the success of our mission. We seek to combine evidence-based research with academic knowledge and practical, results-oriented civil society experience. Your responsibilities as the Head of Communications:
- Help position Power for Democracies as the "go to" evidence-based research and evaluation entity in the pro-democracy field with relevant stakeholders, donor groups, networks, institutions, and civil society spaces.
- Recruit and build the small communications team in charge of Power for Democracies’ communication and distribution formats, channels, and tools.
- Develop Power for Democracies' outreach and dissemination strategies (in close collaboration with the Knowledge + Research team) to gain meaningful attention from experts, the pro-democracy space, and donors alike.
- Develop effective media and communication formats that best address the needs of our target groups (websites, white papers, podcast/videocast features, talks etc.).
- Oversee the successful translation and adaptation of our research outputs into concise, informative, and engaging content.
- In collaboration with our research experts, develop and plan our publication formats and oversee the Power for Democracies publishing calendar.
- Provide support and advice to management and research professionals on all aspects of communications and outreach.
As head of our small communications team, you are part of the management team and have a decisive role for Power for Democracies' success. Given the startup nature of the organization, additional tasks may arise ad hoc, such as contributions to networking and fundraising of the organisation. You report to the Executive Director.
What you bring:
- At least 6-10 years' practical experience in communications, media, publishing/editing or fundraising, including substantive experience in or for a research institution, think tank, science editorial team or equivalent.
- At least two years in a senior role and solid experience of working with teams of content producers and publishing content on time.
- A solid and nuanced understanding of the relevant spaces and stakeholders.
- Experience in developing media, communication and distribution strategies tailored to highly specific audiences to ensure we select and develop the most effective communication and distribution channels.
