BACKGROUND
Our work has never been more needed. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.6 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 300,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
This is an exciting time to join Magic Breakfast if you wish to make a difference to the lives of children as we work to influence both policy implementation, with the national rollout of primary-aged universal school breakfast, and legislative change, through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. There has also been commitment from the Scottish Government for a national breakfast scheme and we are seeking to expand our advocacy work into Wales. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are implemented in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free.
In addition, thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams. And for the very youngest, we know that the disadvantage gap begins before they even reach reception. With the Government commitment to another 100,000 places in school-based nurseries, early years is also a critical part of our advocacy work.

JOB PURPOSE
The Head of Policy & Public Affairs will review, develop and implement our advocacy strategy and lead a team to influence the devolved legislatures across the UK to address child morning hunger, with a view to the underlying systemic causes of child poverty and hunger, by driving change through policy and legislation. The role operates at our ‘Head of level’ which is the most senior operational specialist level and provides both operational and strategic leadership.
This role will also provide wider leadership across the charity and input into organisational strategy development and planning as part of the Core Management Group. This role will ensure that the Policy and Public Affairs function is aligned to the wider strategic aims and outcomes of Magic Breakfast as well as the internal operational systems and delivery.
The strategic leadership will ensure an external and long term view, with an outward looking and forward thinking approach that builds thought leadership, relationships and partnerships, with positioning to anticipate and build on new opportunities to end child morning hunger for good.
It will require an experienced Policy and Public Affairs professional, with significant experience of high impact and demonstrable outcomes at a senior level in the field. The postholder will lead the policy and public affairs team to influence the Early Adopters Scheme, the national rollout of primary school breakfast provision in England and breakfast legislation in the Children’s Wellbeing Bill (CWB).
They will also develop, guide and lead plans to influence the Scottish government, particularly in the run up to the election in May 2026 and the influencing of manifestos; and will lead Magic Breakfast’s upcoming influencing work in Wales.
In the external leadership that the role provides they will build relationships with politicians, political influencers, special advisors and civil servants to establish long-term, sustainable solutions to child morning hunger in the UK.
As a compassionate, people centric and inspiring leader they will work to enable their team to grow and develop in their skills ensuring they can step away from the detail whilst retaining accountability, build effective resource management and progression pathways. This role may manage external consultants where necessary, and work collaboratively with external organisations to amplify our voice and asks and strengthen our position as a thought leader.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review and define the advocacy strategy for 25/26 in line both with moving political environment and Magic Breakfast’s influencing agenda, considering the systemic barriers to ending child morning hunger for good.
· Develop and maintain close relationships with the Department for Education and other key departments including Department for Health and Social Care and Treasury, to secure hunger and child focus as key priorities for breakfast provision.
· Develop, monitor and evaluate influencing plans for each devolved nation
· Support the development of influencing plans with coalition groups and organisations to influence school breakfast policy, commitments and implementation
· Review policy positions in Wales and Northern Ireland and define our advocacy approach, gaining external insights and analysing available research and data to shape the plan
· Develop a vision for advocacy beyond current demands, considering political appetite and gaining insight from lived experience communities and relevant sectors, to ensure that we are clear on future asks, and can build the foundation towards them.

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Marketing and Planning team, which has a key role in driving awareness and understanding of our support for children, parents and professionals. The Strategic Marketing Manager will focus on marketing to adults, in particular parents. As part of our exciting plans for growth, we are seeking a Fundraising Lead to drive the organisation’s fundraising to fulfil our mission and play a key role in supporting the next phase of Frazzled’s growth and development.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy with a range of fundraising activities focusing primarily on trusts and foundations but also individual donors, corporate partners and fundraising campaigns.

MAIN TASKS
Fundraising
- Lead on developing and delivering an annual fundraising strategy to support our ambitious plans for growth, securing a minimum of £250k per year from Trusts and Foundations, individual donors, fundraising events and campaigns, and corporate partnerships.
- Research and generate a pipeline of funding applications, including multi-year grant opportunities from Trusts and Foundations
- Lead on writing compelling applications and conversations with funders, talking persuasively and informatively about Frazzled’s work and impact

Responsibilities of our Principal Surveyor:
- line manage a team of three Regional Surveyors, providing comprehensive guidance in estate and retail matters
- responsible for a portfolio of properties, including Cats Protection centres, retail premises, residential and miscellaneous legacy properties
- monitor and report on estate condition status and maintain compliance across an assigned geographical portfolio, supporting the Head of Estates and Construction in the delivery of estate management services across the organisation

Together with the Safety, Health and Environment Team and Facilities we ensure regulatory/legal compliance of properties.

JOB SUMMARY
The postholder will provide outreach services within the community to provide emotional and practical support to young women and girls who have been subject to domestic abuse and sexual abuse or exploitation in order to meet their immediate needs, reduce risk and work towards long term safety and security.
This may also include young women and girls who have been involved in the sex industry or gang involvement. She will inform them of all the sources of help available to them and to facilitate their access to other support services, where it is appropriate.
She will enable access to age appropriate and age effective group work and to support the development of preventative workshops delivered to young women and girls.
MAIN DUTIES
· To provide non-judgemental, one to one emotional and practical support to young women and girls (YW&G) aged 13-25, who have suffered domestic abuse and/or sexual abuse/exploitation.
· To engage YW&G in effective one to one support designed to meet their individual needs.
· To signpost YW&G on to other appropriate agencies and support mechanisms that will help them successfully move forward.
· Complete risk assessments and develop risk management plans to address the risk of harm.
· Undertake safety planning with YW&G to reduce levels of risk.
· Complete needs assessments and individual support plans with the YW&G to ensure their emotional and practical support needs are being met.
· To empower YW&G who have been victims of domestic/sexual abuse/exploitation to take control of their lives and make their own decisions.

About the role
We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.

As the charity’s Safeguarding Lead, you’ll oversee safeguarding strategy and decision-making, and play a vital role in championing best practice across the organisation. You’ll also be accountable for the mentor journey - from recruitment and engagement to retention, and act as our in-house expert on mentoring and impactful interventions for girls and young women. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and data-driven decision making, this role is key to shaping and evolving our programme offer to meet the needs of the girls we serve.
Key Activities
Programme Delivery
- Operational ownership and accountability for the successful delivery of The Girls’ Network programmes, in line with our strategic aims and operational targets.
- Ownership and accountability for operational safeguarding decision-making in relation to programme delivery.
- Leadership of implementation and compliance of processes and procedures in the programme team, to ensure best practice, quality and consistency.
- Be accountable for our volunteer mentor community, including the mentor experience, engagement and retention. Ownership of our mentor recruitment retention strategy and ongoing activity.

- Ensure a girl-centred approach to all programme delivery and development.

Team Leadership
- Effective leadership and direction of a programme team who are entirely home-based and widely geographically dispersed.

Overall job purpose
This is a fundamental role within our North regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer. The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 23 historic churches across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, W. Yorkshire, N. Yorkshire (part), ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.
Key relationships
You will work closely with the Lead Local Community Officer (North), regional and national colleagues, volunteers, community groups and other local stakeholders.

Working as part of a small yet mighty staff team, you will work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, Committees, Volunteers, Working Groups and other Stakeholders to lead significant growth across a variety of programmes, infrastructure and fundraising opportunities.

Your Role
As the Philanthropy and Relationships Lead, you will:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a measurable plan for philanthropic growth based on key insights from our recent major donor evaluation.
- Support the Director of Fundraising, Engagement, and Voice to foster a culture of philanthropy across the organisation.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior colleagues to drive donor cultivation activities, leveraging relationships to maximize engagement.
Relationship Building
- Cultivate and nurture existing donor relationships, aligning their interests with Kids’ impactful work.
- Actively network and maintain visibility within the community to attract new supporters.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising, Engagement, and Voice team to integrate efforts and demonstrate the impact of our services.
Prospecting and Outreach
- Develop and implement a structured approach to identifying new donor prospects, including mid-level and major donors.
- Work with the Events Manager to design and execute cultivation events, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement.
- Establish a mid-level giving strategy and maintain a dynamic caseload of potential donors.
Financial and Budget Management
- Set and achieve income targets, using our CRM (Donorfy) to track progress and manage the donor pipeline.
- Develop accurate financial projections and maintain a balanced approach between ambition and realism.
Tailored Communications
- Create compelling cases for support and personalized impact reports, showcasing how donations make a difference.
- Craft thoughtful, donor-centric communications that resonate with supporters’ motivations.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated relationship manager with:
- Proven success in building and sustaining high-value donor relationships, resulting in significant financial support.
- Demonstrable experience in pipeline management, including identifying prospects and generating new financial gifts.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence in using CRM systems to efficiently manage relationships and forecast income.
- A strategic mindset with a proven ability to develop and deliver tailored cultivation plans.
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND, with insight into the policy landscape affecting them.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, including CEOs and trustees, to secure support.
