About the role

We are seeking a Branch Development Manager to develop the support provided for Headway volunteer-led branches across the UK including with volunteering, policies and processes and best practice to ensure a high-quality service for acquired brain injury survivors.

You will drive innovation to deliver sustainable volunteering opportunities that contribute towards the ongoing success of the Headway network, ensuring acquired brain injury survivors can access the support they need within their own communities.

We’re looking for someone with experience of volunteer engagement and development.

You will ideally have:

• A good understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing community-based voluntary organisations at a UK-wide level
• Outstanding organisational and project management skills, able to operate at a strategic level
• Experience of building relationships and partnership working within the third sector
• Knowledge of the legal, financial and governance framework within which third sector organisations operate
• A passion for supporting brain injury survivors, carers and families and the charities that support them

Your application will need to demonstrate: 

• Experience of delivering high quality, impactful, and inclusive digital communications 

• An understanding of digital strategies, channels, and how different audiences engage with content

About the role:

We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.

We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for an Early Intervention Project Worker to join Shine.

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.

A national healthcare charity are seeking to appoint a Finance Systems Implementation Manager on an 18 month fixed term contract. The Finance Systems Implementation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This role will report to the Director of Finance and will involve working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the new system meets the charity's financial and operational needs.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Project Management: Lead the end-to-end implementation of Business Central, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Project Leadership: Manage the planning, resource requirements, scheduling, risk management and budget control for the project, using appropriate tools and methodologies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with finance, IT, and other departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives, liaising with colleagues across teams to ensure that all work is prioritised, maximising the available cross-functional resource in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• Draw on financial and accounting expertise to oversee the configuration and customization of Business Central to meet the charity's specific needs.

Who we are looking for

Our Communications Services team is seeking a talented Communications Officer, Social Media and Digital, with a background in sustainable development, science or health communications. The successful applicant will be educated to degree level with at least a 2:1 or 1st class honours degree.

You will need to be creative with the ability to produce social media campaigns, digital content and videos, and lead the development of engaging websites to tell our clients’ stories. Plus, you’ll need to be highly organised and able to juggle multiple tasks to coordinate and deliver a wide range of engaging communications materials. You should also be open to travel, as the role could require you to visit projects in Africa or Asia.

What you will do

You’ll lead our social media and digital services for international development and research organisations around the world, as well as coordinating and providing advice on a range of other communications projects – covering topics such as climate change, health, poverty reduction, social equity, agriculture, water resources management, and green cities. You’ll need to think strategically and creatively, respond effectively to emerging trends, and help our team develop and grow.

Your role will include:

Working at Scriptoria

This role offers the opportunity to get involved in a variety of projects, gain experience in different areas and contribute to the diverse range of services that Scriptoria provides. As a small and collaborative team, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is happy to support a variety of tasks and develop further skills, as needed, in the role.

Our staff have the flexibility to work wholly or partly from home or from our office in Tooting, South-West London, during regular operational hours (08:30–17:30; 40 hours/week). If working from home, staff must have a working environment suitable for holding video-call meetings with clients. Key skills and experience required

7. Strong creative flair with a strong understanding of best-practice design principles.

Job Description 

The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and technical support of the Finance function and acts as advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and assists in the development of the organisation’s financial strategy, modelling new projects, preparing budgets and reporting on financial performance. 

You will also be responsible for maintaining accounts on Xero and all related bookkeeping tasks.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Responsibility for bookkeeping on the organisation’s accounting system (Xero);

• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for the organisation and individual cost centres, including variance analysis and reports for the Board. This information should include a short narrative on the current position, future prospects, and financial risks and opportunities. The reports will be tailored as necessary for the Board and management; 

• Provide robust financial information including accurate balance sheets and a rolling cash flow forecast; 

• Act as key point of contact for project budget holders on financial matters;

• Carry out regular reviews of spending under various grants, alerting budget holders and CEO to any actual or potential over or underspend;

• Work with CEO and managers on fundraising bids and financial reports for funders;

• Produce statutory accounts, files and schedules, in partnership with the3million’s accounting firm; 

• Monitor records of all funding and funding sources and the appropriate allocation of incoming funding;

• Monitor monthly accrual of income and expenditure, deferral of income, maintenance of reconciliation to Xero, balance sheet changes and undertake bank reconciliations;

• Monitor the accounts mailbox and ensure invoices are included in the accounting system, answering internal and external queries as they arise;

• Act as main point of contact with banks, service providers, suppliers (when appropriate) and auditors;

• Other duties as requested by the CEO.

Person Specification

The post requires the holder to:

• Have an appropriate accounting qualification – in full or part (AAT, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA);

• Have a minimum of three years of professional experience, including experience of operating within a not-for-profit organisation (managing accounts for restricted and unrestricted funds);

• Be proficient in Xero Online accounting software and Excel spreadsheets, including experience in using Power Query;

• Be comfortable with the financial systems typical of a small organisation, including financial monitoring and reporting to a range of different funding sources;

• Have some experience of projects finances and understand the financial implications behind an efficient delivery strategy;

The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.

You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.
