As our Community Engagement Executive at Nightingale Hammerson, you'll be at the heart of our efforts to connect with and support the Jewish community. Your role will involve spearheading community initiatives, organising impactful events, and managing key administrative tasks.
 
What will your typical day involve? 

You will collaborate with Jewish communities and synagogues, orchestrating and overseeing community events, and managing related clerical tasks. You will also be responsible for liaising with external agencies and assisting in the production of departmental reports. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include contributing to educational and research projects, delivering exceptional customer service, and enhancing departmental systems and processes. Upholding Nightingale Hammerson’s values, maintaining professionalism, and ensuring confidentiality are crucial aspects of your role. 

In addition, you will manage telephone and email inquiries, foster positive relationships with colleagues and visitors, and occasionally work evenings and weekends to support events. 

Who are we looking for? 

We are seeking someone with A-Levels or equivalent qualifications and a genuine interest in improving older people’s lives. You should have excellent, caring communication skills and a good understanding of Jewish culture. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are required for creating written materials and handling data. Proficiency in office procedures and IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video calls) is essential. Experience with database management is a plus, and you should be able to work flexibly and independently. 

Experience in healthcare or education settings is also desired. Prior experience in a similar role, along with project management skills, is advantageous, especially in supporting service developments from initial stages to full implementation.

Role Purpose

GDI Hub are looking for a Research Assistant to support the team across its portfolio of projects with a diversity of clients, partners and stakeholders.

The Research Assistant role sits within GDI Hub’s Community Interest Company’s Research and Delivery Team, led by Mikaela Patrick, Head of Research and Delivery.

For a portfolio of clients (for example, Asian Development Bank, World Bank & IFC, Carbon Trust and Dubai Expo City), and projects under the UK Aid funded AT2030 programme cluster ‘Integrate - Strengthen the systems which make inclusion a reality’ (for example, Local production Systems of AT, Designing Inclusive Dignity Kits for Dissemination in Humanitarian Crises and Climate Resilient Cities), GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team:

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary research
• Report academic research and grey literature publications with recommendations, blogs and insights reports
• Provide strategic and operational consultancy and technical assistance
• Design and deliver training and workshops, host and present speaker sessions
• Organise knowledge dissemination for high impact
• Track impact and reach of research and delivery

GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team have a range of thematic expertise, including inclusive design, accessibility, inclusive infrastructure, inclusive climate resilience and responses, disability and gender, financial inclusion and inclusive private sector practice.

The majority of GDI Hub Research and Delivery Team’s work has a focus in Low or Middle-Income Countries (LMIC).

GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team and work is growing fast, and this role has been created to strengthen the team and its delivery across its portfolio of work.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience working or academic study in relevant fields (including working closely and collaboratively with disabled people and disabled people’s organisations is desirable), such as international disability inclusion, assistive and accessible technology, accessibility and inclusive design, disability innovation and global health; with willingness to grow expertise across these areas.
• Ideally have some experience (approx. 2-5 years) working on research projects and/or practice-focused research in a related field. This could be as part of further study, research or in a work capacity. Real work experience is desirable.
• A post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience, focused on an area relevant to disability inclusion, accessibility and / or assistive technology.
• Experience and confidence to independently conduct qualitative research and analysis, and literature reviews.
• Experienced in quantitative research and analysis with proficiency in designing and running quantitative data collection via surveys and analysing results to inform statistically representative and robust results. Confidence to independently conduct descriptive and correlational analysis using for e.g., ExCel, Python, R or SPSS.
• Independence in producing clear and insightful infographics and data visualisations.
• Excellent written communication skills, with ability to take on writing of reports using clear and compelling narrative; experience authoring lucid and informative insights and reporting.
• Excellent ability to communicate, work in a small dynamic team, and collaborate with individuals with diverse technical backgrounds and with external stakeholders.
• Confidence in client relationship management for organisation of meetings, email engagements and clients and stakeholder presentations.

Job Description

Strides is looking for a reliable and experienced Residential Assistant to join our team. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the supervision of residents in accordance with policy and practice under the direction and guidance of managers and relevant staff where necessary. Deal with routine issues raised by residents on a day-to-day basis.
• Staff and supervise the Approved Premises during designated shifts, referring serious incidents to designated on-call Manager and adhere to the procedure of completing incident reports as necessary.
• Ensure enforcement of Approved Premises rules and deal with any breaches in accordance with procedures. Respond appropriately to abusive or aggressive behaviour.
• Demonstrate pro-social modelling skills by consistently reinforcing pro-social behaviour and attitudes and challenging anti-social behaviour and attitudes
• Liaise with Key Workers, Deputy Manager and Manager as appropriate to share issues concerning residents.
• Process information and maintain records including inputting information on the database system by recording any significant occurrences relating to residents during shift.
• Contribute to the work with substance misusers in accordance with relevant policies, practices and protocols e.g. dispensing/recording medication, drug/alcohol testing if requested by the management team
• Answering the telephone and door and deal with any callers to the Approved Premises including monitoring the work of contractors’ accordance with procedures.

About the Role:

The Assessment Coordinator is the conduit for young people to access the youth accommodation pathway in Greenwich.  As well as triage and intake, the role supports young people by navigating their journey either by facilitating their safe return home, or into longer term suitable supported accommodation.

Reporting to the Strategic Director for External Affairs, this is a pivotal role which will tell NCB’s story and the difference we make from the playground to parliament, analysing, influencing and ultimately changing the complex systems on which children and families rely. The postholder will position NCB across the sector as a trusted convener, a catalyst for change and a champion of children and families.

The post is part of the NCB Enhanced Strategic Leadership Team and is accountable for harnessing NCB’s specialisms within a broad understanding of children’s lives, providing high level policy and political analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, dynamic and commercially minded individual to join the Senior Management Team of one of the UK’s leading public art galleries. Working alongside the Director and Board of Trustees, the Director of Finance oversees the strategic, business and financial management of the organisation. The Director of Finance is responsible for the efficient and effective leadership and management of the Gallery’s finance, governance and commercial activities. With scrupulously high standards, they will drive the quality and transparency of financial management and reporting, ensuring robust financial controls and the smooth running and management of the Gallery’s finances. A key member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Finance contributes to shaping and implementing the Gallery’s strategic development.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate a proven ability in leadership and financial control within a complex organisation, managing people and limited resources effectively, delivering results, thinking strategically and inspiring and motivating others. They will need to demonstrate a high degree of energy and agility, with the ability to build highly effective, collaborative working relationships at all levels of the organisation. The new Director of Finance will demonstrate a high level of financial and business acumen and strategic insight and will possess strong analytical and project management skills.

With experience at Board level, they must be comfortable with presenting to Boards and with the ability to develop strategy and present business plans.

Previous experience of the gallery and museum sector would be desirable but is not essential, and applications are welcomed from candidates with commercial, charitable and private sector backgrounds. The Duty Scheme Support Officer performs a vital role supporting the smooth running of ASAP’s duty scheme. Our scheme offers free legal representation for people in the asylum system who need food and shelter, but have been refused it, or are about to be evicted. Your work will help to ensure people are not left homeless when they are entitled to support.

You will work closely with the duty scheme team, especially the Duty Scheme Co-ordinator (DSC), to provide efficient and time-sensitive administrative support to the scheme. You will be a key first point of contact for our duty scheme, having daily direct contact with people seeking assistance, referring agencies, the AST court admin team, ASAP staff, duty scheme advocates (DSAs) and the Home Office.

• Lead on key financial activities, including management accounting, financial reporting, and grant audits.

• Improve and streamline financial processes for greater efficiency.  
• Manage complex funding arrangements, including grants from institutional donors, and ensure compliance with financial and donor requirements.  
• Collaborate with teams across the organisation, using your financial insights to support decision-making.

What we're looking for:

• Are a qualified (or part-qualified) Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent) with proven management accounting experience, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.

• Are familiar with the financial management of grants from institutional donors, ideally within international aid or humanitarian settings.  
• Understand risk management and audit processes.  
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both with financial and non-financial colleagues.  
• Are skilled in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.  
• Have a personal or professional interest in humanitarian or development sectors, demonstrated through academic studies, volunteering, or work experience.  

Additional knowledge in grantee financial management, IATI standards, and accounting principles for charities would be a bonus, but not essential.
