Refugee Council – Stewardship and Events Manager

Refugee Council is seeking a Stewardship and Event Manager to lead on excellent stewardship and events at the charity.
Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK. Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment. Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system. The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.
As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.
This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships management team and represents a brilliant opportunity to support the growth and development of our major donor, trust and statutory and corporate partnerships portfolios.
Working with key stakeholders from across the organisation, the postholder will play a lead role in the development and delivery of an ambitious stewardship and events programme, offering a range of activities to engage and inspire supporters, and ensure that they are connected to, and inspired by, the work of Refugee Council.
The successful candidate will have experience in developing a special events programme to support cultivation and income generation, as well as of developing engaging and relevant donor and prospect communications. They will also have experience of leading on the conceptualisation, planning and delivery of a range of event types, from small, intimate dinners to large receptions and be adept at creating and managing a monitoring and evaluation framework to track activity and apply lessons learned to future activities. They will also be comfortable working with senior leaders within Refugee Council, as well as corporate leaders, parliamentarians and other influential people, alongside having a sound understanding of the principles and impact of exemplary stewardship and cultivation of supporters and prospects.
Refugee Council will provide the most moving and diverse case for support. Cases that encompass innovative external affairs campaigns aimed at engaging policy makers and the public.

This plan also includes recruiting prospecting, stewardship, and communications expertise, so that growth is supported, planned and achievable.

About the Role
The Assistant Management Accountant will work closely and support the Finance team to enhance projects and management accounting at Solace. You will give support to the Interim Financial Controller to produce accurate and timely internal and external financial reports.
In this role, you do the preparation of monthly income and expenditure management reports for allocated projects (including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets depreciations, apportions and reconciliation) and of allocated funder reports. Support with budget planning and forecasting. Ensure that management accounts are produced within established deadlines and distributed to budget holders. Provide monthly analysis. Assist and support in the preparation of with year-end close and audit. Work with Finance colleagues and Solace staff.
About You
The successful candidate will be a nearly qualified accountant or qualified by experience and desirably with knowledge of charity SORP reporting requirements. Able to produce accurate reporting on timely manner and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Can work with non-finance budget holders with clear communication skills. Have strong knowledge of Excel and of working with finance systems.

What the job involves
We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.
As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors.
Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, you'll maintain the integrity of our data records in alignment with GDPR and organisational policies.

We’re looking for a fundraiser who understands high value fundraising. You’ll have experience in building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts with major donors, companies, and potentially grant funders. About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. Additionally, there are a wide range of community and external partner relationships to manage and develop. Ultimately this role sets the tone for the charity, one of both compassion and ambition to improve the lives of the people who need us. This is primarily an on-site role, with occasional opportunity to work flexibly.

The Paul Mellon Centre (PMC) is looking for a qualified and highly experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager who can help us create an inclusive and inspirational workplace. Send My Friend to School is a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities.
It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all children across the globe. Each year thousands of schools and young people take part in the campaign, teaching young people the power and importance of using their voices in chorus with others across the globe to create positive change.
Send My Friend to School is the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education movement which is present in over 90 countries around the world.
Location
This role will be employed by Send My Friend to School Steering Group member Results UK, on behalf of the Send My Friend to School coalition, and will be based in Results UK’s office near Waterloo. Hybrid working is in place whereby staff are required to work from the office at least 2 days a week.

This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent post, with a 3 month probation period. The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for campaigns, PR, content and storytelling, brand and creative, and plays an integral role in internal communications. They also support other external engagement activities, such as digital marketing campaigns, corporate partner acquisition and retention, and public fundraising.
Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials.
You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.
The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.

As an expert in people safety and secutrity, you will enable us to serve the persecuted church well, by finding the right balance between keeping our people as safe as we can and still being free to do everything we need to do and go anywhere we need to go as a ministry.
You will work across the various entities within the organisation, to take a holistic view on advising managers and staff on safety and security. You will analyze and advise on security incidents, enable greater organizational learning and awareness, and help managers and staff to comply with agreed security procedures, while working cross-culturally. In the event of a crisis situation, you will advise on all aspects of handling the situation. You will be fully aligned with the core values of Open Doors and have a passion to serve the Persecuted Church. This role reports to the Director of People and Culture.
Your key responsibilities
·Advise proactively on identified threats and risks, and on specific staff safety and security matters on request.
·Provide a cross-organization perspective on how staff safety and security management can improve.

·Encourage an approach to compliance with our global security policy and handbook, which respects the need for organisational responsibility as well as the calculated acceptance of necessary risks.
·Provide advice in any crisis situation, including as part of a crisis management team.
·Maintain a record of staff safety and security incidents and near-misses, and analyze learnings and trends.
