About the Role

The Assistant Management Accountant will work closely and support the Finance team to enhance projects and management accounting at Solace. You will give support to the Interim Financial Controller to produce accurate and timely internal and external financial reports.

In this role, you do the preparation of monthly income and expenditure management reports for allocated projects (including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets depreciations, apportions and reconciliation) and of allocated funder reports. Support with budget planning and forecasting. Ensure that management accounts are produced within established deadlines and distributed to budget holders. Provide monthly analysis. Assist and support in the preparation of with year-end close and audit. Work with Finance colleagues and Solace staff.

About You

The successful candidate will be a nearly qualified accountant or qualified by experience and desirably with knowledge of charity SORP reporting requirements. Able to produce accurate reporting on timely manner and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Can work with non-finance budget holders with clear communication skills. Have strong knowledge of Excel and of working with finance systems.

What will I be doing?

What the job involves

We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. 

As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors. 

Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, you'll maintain the integrity of our data records in alignment with GDPR and organisational policies.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a fundraiser who understands high value fundraising. You’ll have experience in building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts with major donors, companies, and potentially grant funders. Working in collaboration with our high value fundraisers, Research and Support and Influencing teams to create engaging and bespoke propositions. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator, often translating complex and technical information to a range of audiences and stakeholders in multiple formats (e.g. proposals, presentations or web copy). Your exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills will enable you to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. Additionally, there are a wide range of community and external partner relationships to manage and develop. The Paul Mellon Centre (PMC) is looking for a qualified and highly experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager who can help us create an inclusive and inspirational workplace. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing and enhancing the career and workplace experience of the people who work for our organisation through their leadership of the HR Team and provision at the PMC. Reporting to the Centre’s Chief Operating Officer, the HR Manager plays a crucial role in our organisation of around forty members of staff. Join the National Portrait's Gallery’s Development team as Fundraising Manager, Grants. You'll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager to support the delivery of an ambitious and exciting fundraising programme and raise income through grant-giving bodies, including Trusts and Foundations, statutory funders, and corporate foundations.

The postholder will seek to secure critical support for budget-relieving activity taking place across the Gallery, including learning and engagement and exhibitions, as well as support for acquisitions, special projects, and capital works. About the role

As the Operations Officer you will provide dedicated support to the Start Funds' portfolio, currently comprising the global Start Fund, Start Fund Bangladesh, Start Fund Nepal and the Ukraine locally-led pooled fund. The coalition

Send My Friend to School is a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities.

It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all children across the globe. Each year thousands of schools and young people take part in the campaign, teaching young people the power and importance of using their voices in chorus with others across the globe to create positive change.

Send My Friend to School is the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education movement which is present in over 90 countries around the world.

Location

This role will be employed by Send My Friend to School Steering Group member Results UK, on behalf of the Send My Friend to School coalition, and will be based in Results UK’s office near Waterloo. Hybrid working is in place whereby staff are required to work from the office at least 2 days a week. 

Terms & Conditions

This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent post, with a 3 month probation period. Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials. 

You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.

·Relevant education and experience.

·Able to provide advice and practical support on a wide range of safety and security matters.

·Able to work practically and give advice in critical situations.

·Analytical and abstract thinker.

·Excellent communicator and influencer, able to work with people at all levels in an organisation and in different cultures.

·Experience of managing change and providing or facilitating learning.

·Result- oriented with proven project management skills and the ability to deliver on time.
