Main Purpose: To support the Café and Kitchen Manager in day to day running of the CareTrade’s Café Traineeship Programme at the Southwark Resource Centre, SE17 providing hands on work-based training to autistic jobseekers interested in catering and hospitality careers
This post is based on a full-time salary of £28,000 per annum. Holiday is based on annual leave of 5 weeks plus bank holidays
Reporting to: Café and Kitchen Manager
Line Management responsibility: Café Assistant and between 3 and 4 Trainee Café Assistants (at any one time)

Core Responsibilities:
1. Supervising CareTrade Café throughout the school year (including half terms)
2. To work with the Café and Kitchen Manager to write and prepare training materials for the Trainee Café Assistants
3. Oversee the training of the Trainee Café Assistants (young people with autism) during work placement
4. Monitor the progress of Trainees and write end of placement reports
5. Line Manage the Café Assistant and the Trainee Café Assistants and report to Café and Kitchen Manager
6. To work closely with the Southwark Resource Manager and CareTrade to develop marketing materials and promotions for the Café and Community involvement
7. Responsible for opening and locking up the café and cashing up
8. Prepare coffee and food including: baking cakes, making sandwiches, salads, cooking hot meals.
9. Restock/refill items as necessary and list items that need ordering from suppliers.
10. Check stock in fridge for out of date products and dispose of as necessary.
11. Customer service including taking orders, serving customers and cash handling.
12. Maintain coffee machine including set up, cleaning and refilling with beans.
13. Ensure daily cash up form is filled in and money is in safe.
14. Ensure café is ready for customers on opening.
15. Create a welcoming and professional environment.
16. To help raise awareness of autism amongst customers.
17. To keep the café clean and ensure a high standard of hygiene.
18. To ensure food safety guidelines and laws are adhered to.
19. To ensure a Healthy and Safe working environment for self, staff, trainees and customers.
General Responsibilities:
1. To attend all staff meetings and participate in staff development as required.
2. Promote a positive image of autism, the Project, Southwark Resource Centre, Project partners and CareTrade.
3. Co-operate with all CareTrade and Southwark Resource Centre staff in maintaining good relationships with outside agencies and the general public in order to promote the charity and win increased support for its work
4. Co-operate with all CareTrade and Southwark Resource Centre staff in maintaining harmonious inter-personal relationships. Ensure that your conduct within and outside of your work place does not conflict with professional expectations.
5. Ensure an awareness and observation of Fire and Health and Safety Regulations at the work place.
6. Ensure the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of both students and staff as far as possible.
7. Work within all CareTrade and Southwark Resource Centre policies and procedures, in particular Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality and Data Protection.
8. Carry out any duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job and the title of the post, as required by your Line Manager.

What the job involves
The Policy and Health Influencing teams are responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.
As the Health Improvement Coordinator, you're key to supporting these teams. You'll have a varied and far-reaching portfolio of work and sometimes arranging important stakeholder events and meetings ensuring we're hearing from people who've been through prostate cancer themselves. You'll also help share our work on social media and capturing the outcomes of our external engagement.
In this role you’ll assist us in keeping track of and evaluating our progress in line with our organisational strategy, as well as keeping an eye on trends in the wider cancer and health landscape and reporting on them. Plus, you'll handle budget matters and make sure we have effective budget monitoring mechanisms in place.
What we want from you
We’re looking for a Coordinator who is highly organised, an effective communicator and know how to adapt and effectively prioritise your time. You’ll have excellent coordination skills and can organise others too (especially teams which are based across the UK) and have experience of creating and updating forward planners, project schedules and streamlining team processes. You’ll be able to comfortably engage with senior managers and a breadth of external senior level stakeholders. Regularly taking the initiative to drive improvements so that the teams you support can operate efficiently.
With skills in collecting and utilising data to monitor, trend, and report on activity, you're proactive in acting on the results. You’ll have some experience or interest in working in the health or volunteer sector. You’re also quick to learn and capable at picking up new systems including those for budget management and products’ fulfilment.

The Role
The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a Digital Enabler. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. The Digital Enabler will facilitate the effective participation by all members in the life of the Church in the North West England District by supporting stakeholders at all levels to facilitate digital evangelism and building and maintaining the District’s online presence.

NWED came to being in September 2024 following the joining together of a number of Methodist Districts. We cover the geographical area of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. Within this are inner city, industrial, post-industrial, suburban, and rural areas – no two towns are the same.
The District embraces a rich breadth and variety of theological perspectives and worship styles. A range of fresh expressions of Church (messy church, café church, arts-based projects, digital spaces etc.) are nurtured without neglecting the other, more traditional, expressions and all are equally valued.
We exist primarily to advance the mission of the Methodist Church in our District by supporting churches and circuits (a circuit is a group of churches served by a team, including one or more ministers). Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. We now have a need for two Development Officers to work closely with the Development Director and Development Manager in developing our trusts and foundations and statutory income streams, managing the accounts of existing supporters and generating income through securing new funding relationships. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding proposals, through to successfully managing relationships with funders.

• Confidently write and speak about Tender’s work, and how we prevent violence against women and girls, to a range of different funders.

- Support and work flexibly with other members of the Development team so that we can collaboratively reach our fundraising goals.

We are looking for an enthusiastic administrator to support our central Resources team.
You will need to be comfortable talking to suppliers, contractors and customers whilst also enjoying setting up systems and analysing and sharing information. We are a small team that need to work flexibly to deliver the wide remit that we support.
The role is varied, can be demanding and involves some health and safety but it is enjoyable and fulfilling. The team is supportive and committed and work both independently and collaboratively to deliver simultaneous projects.

About the role
We’re looking for a Legacy Marketing Officer to join our Individual Giving and Legacy Team.
It’s an exciting time to join the Legacy Team as we are embarking on a new era for legacy and in memory giving at Young Lives vs Cancer. In memory giving and gifts in Wills left to us by our supporters are essential to ensuring we can help generations of children and young people who will sadly be living with a cancer diagnosis. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Legacy Marketing Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting the Legacy Marketing Manager to plan, implement and deliver legacy and in-memory strategies.
The Legacy Officer will work on a range of legacy and in-memory campaigns, materials and supporter centric journeys across multiple channels. As a team we will maximise legacy and in memory giving and acquire new legacy and in memory supporters, as well as nurturing existing supporters who have expressed an interest in leaving a gift in their Will for the future of Young Lives vs Cancer’s work.
The role will suit a passionate and creative individual who thrives on working collaboratively and who is able to manage end to end projects and supplier relationships. There will be a need to analyse data to monitor performance as well as identifying trends and opportunities. Fulfilment mapping is also a key element of the role as well as being comfortable presenting in person to colleagues and suppliers.
What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Supporting the development, implementation and delivery of the legacy marketing and in memory strategies
- Developing, planning and delivering specific projects and campaigns
- Supporting the delivery of campaigns and communications, including the production of materials, audience and channels selections
- Producing analysis of results and campaign summaries.
- Playing a pivotal role in creating an internal culture to maximise legacy and in memory giving

This Autumn, we are building on the success of our first three waves of Ambassadors programmes to work with over 400 young people in sixteen state schools within the London area. This enables us to test the design and sustainability of our programme further before opening it up to young people and schools across the UK.
We are searching for someone excited by the prospect of seeing how far we can develop and deepen the narrative of environmental education in schools and who has the contacts to help us partner with exciting people and organisations making real change for future generations.
You will be a dynamic and experienced professional who loves designing innovative and real experiences for young people who care about the future of our planet and want to learn more by joining our Ambassador Programme and going on a one-year journey with their school and us.
You will also be committed to gathering truly diverse thought and pedagogical insight, bringing people and ideas together into robust curriculum design. Working closely with key team members across the organisation, the Curriculum Curator will ensure our curriculum and content are exciting, ambitious, inclusive and relevant for the young people we work with!

The overall responsibility of the Curriculum Consultant will be to spearhead the design of a strong, values-driven and age-appropriate curriculum across all our programmes. Championing this within the organisation, their significant knowledge and experience will ensure it is the iterative and collaborative beating heart of our programmes.

Working Pattern
To fulfil the requirements of this role, there may be occasional in-person touchpoints with the team in our London office or partner schools; the ability and desire to travel to these is paramount.

Database, Social Media and Office Administrator
Merton Mencap is a local charity supporting young people and adults with a learning disabilty and / or autism and their family carers in the borough of Merton.
We provide weekday, weekend and holiday clubs, as well as learning opportunities at our Community Cafe. We hold lots of fundraising events such as indoor sky diving, our annual charity auction and staff joining together to sing Christmas carols in shopping centres to raise funds to support our projects.
This is a varied role and the successful candidate will be pivital to all aspects of the business, working with all members of the Senior Management Team as well as project staff who work across the borough of Merton.
The applicant will be responsible to the Office Manager and will support them in day to day operations for the charity, as well as being a social media and database expert for the charity. Training on our database system will be provided.
The role is office based in our Merton Offices and can be worked over 2 or 3 days per week, 52 wks per year.
The charity offers a staff healthcare benefit scheme, pension and annual leave.
