We have a highly skilled team of 30 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of seven staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.
Temwa UK has an experienced and high functioning board of Trustees who are very engaged. The board member who oversees the fundraising portfolio is very active, providing support to the Fundraising & Development Manager and the fundraising team as a whole.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Managing the fundraising strategy and donor relations with oversight of the fundraising office
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the charity’s income generation strategy, ensuring targets are achieved.
- Align the fundraising strategy with the communications and marketing strategy.
- Act as the organizational expert on income generation, leading the team to expand all relevant fundraising streams.
- Maintain and enhance current income streams, including trust fundraising, corporate fundraising, high value donors, and individual giving.
- Maintain relationships with key donors and their specific requirements.
- Collaborate with the Programme Advisor and Programmes Director in Malawi to align community needs with donor priorities.
- Lead, research & review the opportunities to apply for institutional funding with the Programme Advisor.

2. Providing leadership to and managing the fundraising team
- Develop, coach, inspire, and motivate the team to achieve their objectives and grow their skills.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones with direct reports, ensuring effective performance management with timely appraisals.
- Ensure team members have clear work plans and objectives.
- Champion best practices in particular with use of the database, ensuring all legal and compliance standards are met and, where possible, exceeded in fundraising and marketing activities.
- Recruit key fundraising team members as needed.

3. Growing income streams
- Lead and manage all fundraising areas in the UK office, ensuring targets are met.

- Research and develop business cases for new income generation areas to drive sustainability.
- Implement and evaluate new income generation projects.

Role Purpose
We are seeking to recruit a manager to lead a frontline team. This role will suit an experienced people manager who is friendly, kind and able to manage a busy workload. Someone who can motivate staff and volunteers, engage with elders and be solution focused.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the day to day running of the Elders Core Service as part of the wider Elders Programme. This includes the three day a week lunch club, transport offer and social sessions and one-off activities and trips.
• Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers. The team members include a cook, support worker, minibus driver and sessional workers such as exercise tutors.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide this “hands on” programme which builds on older people’s strengths and potential.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and oversight
• Working with the Head of Programme, ensure that all service output meets KLS’ vision, mission, values and charitable objects and with the Head of Programme, ensure the service meets the programme strategy and KLS’s 5-year strategy.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of core older people's activities throughout the week and organise, plan and promote agreed one-off activities throughout the year in a timely and planned manner.
• Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules of older people to and from KLS’ activities with the Minibus Driver. Ensuring the Minibus Driver maintains records.
• Ensure activity records and registers are kept accurately and up to date as well as case work notes for the core team, completing regular checks on this. We use a Salesforce Database for which training will be given.
• Actively support the social and support needs of our older people as appropriate, including safeguarding issues and being a first contact for compliments and complaints for the service.
• To be part of, and work closely with, the wider elder's team, sharing information regarding elders on a regular basis where appropriate.
• Conduct outreach and support work with older people in the community and on home visits and oversee the case work of the Core Team as well as having a small caseload. This does not involve advice work but is mainly signposting, referral and light advocacy.
Staff and volunteer management
• Take responsibility for the Core Programme. This includes line management of the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook and key relevant social activities workers and volunteers related to the core programme (we do also have a KLS Volunteer Manager who recruits volunteers).
• Ensure performance management and quality systems are used to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes and safeguarding.
• Managing individual volunteers as part of the Core Programme Team.
Relationships, comms and networks
• Continue to build and sustain strong relationships with our members.
• Contribute to comms for the service with the Head of Service. Oversee the comms for the Core Programme including the shared service newsletter, activities calendar, annual report and social media platforms.
• Attend meetings as requested on behalf of the Core Programme.
Finance
• Manage the project areas to budget, maintain basic financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme – in this instance this is usually a petty cash sheet.
Safeguarding
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the core team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.

• Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal; help to identify your own job-related development and training needs

Job Description – Operations Manager
IcFEM Dreamland Mission is a Christian charity set up to help fund and support the work of IcFEM in
Kenya. We had been running for almost 20 years with volunteers
running a home-based UK office. Three years ago we employed staff in the UK for the first time. We
currently have income of £350k- £400k a year depending on the projects running. IcFEM Kenya is a
locally run organisation based at Kimilili in Western Kenya. IcFEM Kenya runs community projects as
well as a school and hospital. The past five years has seen our work grow significantly, including the
school and hospital which have developed into large institutions that are valued by the community
in Kimilili and fit well into the local government set up.
We are looking for an individual who is ambitious to see our ministry grow and is experienced at
blending trust in God with human endeavour.
We are seeking an Operations Manager who has experience of the charity sector and is prepared to
be flexible and adaptable to the needs of this small charity. There is the potential for flexibility within
this role and we would be willing to discuss a variation in hours worked. Some occasional evening or
weekend work will be needed, and occasional travel to Kenya is an important part of the role,
particularly to build relationships with the Kenyan team.

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

Job Description

About the role
We are looking for someone with experience in facilities and contract management, and the drive and desire to find solutions and complete projects to a high standard. This role manages the Trust’s office facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean and support a positive working environment for staff and volunteers. The post holder will manage contracts, striving to secure competitive prices, support with IT alongside the Trust's IT service provider, and identify and coordinate improvements to the Trust buildings. This role also manages the Business Support Officer.
The Facilities Manager role is for a 10 month fixed-term maternity cover with the possibility of an extension. We would consider between 30-37.5 hours per week, worked across 4 or 5 days. Other options may be considered for the right candidate.

As a small charity, we are looking for someone that will bring extensive knowledge about fundraising and managing the operational aspects of the role, e.g. CRM management and compliance, to help us increase income and cultivate supporters.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Develop, deliver and monitor the fundraising strategy for the Charity

Establish a process for active stewardship
-
Day to day management of income targets and ensuring a healthy pipeline

Work with the CEO to ensure fundraising targets are met and manage an effective pipeline across different income streams: corporates, trusts & foundations and individual giving.

Research and drive new opportunities for multi-year commitments from trusts and foundations

Source and nurture corporate supporters – both corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship

Work with the wider team to develop a consistent approach to our individual funding ask from alumni.

Lead on the preparation and submission of high-quality, effective applications and report on grants awarded.

Create a programme of cultivation events which nurture existing partnership relationships and underpin the creation of new ones.

Oversee the development of inspiring digital content and collateral to attract new and retain funders and fundraisers to the charity.

Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships in our CRM system.

Ensure that our work complies with fundraising best practice, GDPR and other relevant legislation.

This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You’ll be curious, inclusive, creative, flexible, resilient and have a collaborative working style with a proven ability to work as part of a small team.
You’ll have an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail. You’ll flourish working to deadlines which you will meet because of your exceptional time management and organisational skills.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate

At least three years fundraising management experience

Evidence of alignment with our mission and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Lived experience of disabling or marginalising barriers.

A background in the Corporate and/or Trusts world.

Experience of developing a fundraising strategy.

Excellent planning and project management skills with the capability to switch/prioritise tasks quickly.

Experience of writing compelling fundraising applications and funder proposals.

A track record of securing multi-year, five-figure donations.

Experience of monitoring and reporting against targets and strong budget management skills.

A thorough knowledge of the relevant fundraising legislation, regulations and financial issues.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Strong IT skills including an understanding of CRM systems.

Self motivation with an ability to use your initiative.
