• Develop and implement comprehensive digital strategies that grow new Church Army audiences.
• Collaborating with other teams and individuals in Church Army to integrate agile methodologies, ensure alignment of digital initiatives and using informed data to grow brand awareness and affinity.
• Being a pioneer for AI and oversee Church Army’s strategy and implementation of AI.
• Being a primary source of contact for outsourced digital agencies, ensuring clear communication and alignment with Church Army’s objectives.
• Oversee major digital projects such as website refreshes, working with internal and external agencies.

The role

This is an important post in the finance team and, as the Part qualified Management Accountant you will be responsible for a number of important processes supporting month end, reforecasts and the annual budget. You will also work with the head of finance on specific projects and support budget holders across the charity on financial questions and analysis.

To give an idea of focus, the core areas of delivery will include:

• Reconciliations and month end processes to support closing the books
• Support on reforecasts and the annual budget
• Corporate national art pass invoicing
• Being the lead on AFSL, our trading entity, including raising invoices and intercompany transactions

We are recruiting for a Communications Manager who will report to the Head of Advocacy & Communications and work closely with others in the team including one direct report.

The Advocacy & Communications Team works to support all area of our work including our Stop It Now helpline and programmes, our Shore website and support for young people, our paid services including training, assessments, intervention and consultancy as well as our advocacy, fundraising, research and teams in Scotland and Wales.

As the Office Manager you will manage the overall running of the Foodbank office/building, including overseeing HR, implementing policy and procedures, including Health and Safety, maintaining administrative processes, managing stakeholders, serving the trustee board, and working closely with staff in the implementation of events and projects.

Responsibilities

As the Office Manager you will be responsible for managing the overall running of the Foodbank Office/building and administrative processes.

The postholder will do this by:

• The first point of contact for clients and stakeholders on the Chichester District Foodbank main telephone or central email, dealing with initial enquiries and referring them to relevant member of staff when appropriate. 

• HR – manage the HR dashboard, Breathe HR, prompting managers to complete appraisals and regular one-to-ones, managing policies and supporting managers in the recruitment of staff using platforms such as ‘Indeed’.

• CRM – main point of contact for Salesforce, creating templates and providing reports, prompting staff to keep contacts up-to-date, data cleaning etc. 

• Stewardship of regular and one-off donors, acknowledging receipt of donations, encouraging Gift Aid signup, and sending letters of thanks on behalf of the CEO. 

• Supporting the Operations Manager with volunteer recruitment admin where necessary.

• Responsible for building management including liaising with utility suppliers and taking responsibility for health and safety in the Chichester District Foodbank offices and centre. 

• Responsible for equipment management, keeping an up-to-date asset list, liaising with suppliers and contractors, making sure all staff have equipment needed to complete their work i.e. phones systems, laptops, and mobile phones. 

• Responsible for procuring office supplies, including stamps. 

• Responsible for IT systems including Office 365 and Google drive, ensuring intellectual property is secure, staff have relevant access and corporate assets can be accessed by all. 

• Managing Chichester District Foodbank events, managing correspondence with event attendees, procuring event equipment and volunteers. Ensuring event information is communicated accurately and timely across all channels in collaboration with the Communications Officer. 

• Oversee community collections and collection boxes/buckets – making sure that we adhere to fundraising regulations and licences, counting, and banking money and thanking relevant organisations. 

• Manage organisational policy reviews and development.

• Manage the Chichester District Foodbank office volunteers including the tech volunteer who provides IT support. 

• Responsible for creation and development of a Chichester District Foodbank archive.

• Lead on data protection /GDPR. 

• Support CEO and Trustees by setting up meetings, providing agendas, board papers and minutes, booking venues and refreshments, whilst maintaining confidentiality. 

• Support internal communications as directed by the CEO. 

• Provide occasional management support for foodbank sessions when the Operations Manager is unavailable.

Role Profile

You’ll work in a multifunctional, three person project team alongside a Digital Strategy Manager and Digital Creative Expert. The three of you will cover everything needed to execute your projects, coordinating with our technology team and working with external design capacity to deliver outstanding results for your partners, and renew and grow your partnerships.

The teams are designed to be flexible and nimble, chopping and changing who does what to best meet the needs of the project and the capacity of each team member. However, each role has a set of primary areas of expertise which you’ll typically be in charge of on most projects. As the team’s expert in those areas, it’s your responsibility to make sure your team does them to an exceptional standard, whether you’re delivering them yourself or supporting a team member to cover them on a given project.

As a Digital Strategy Expert, your primary areas of expertise are all things strategy, project management and delivery. Your key role in the team is to make sure the execution of our projects is smooth, efficient and high quality, whether that’s through smart strategic planning, tight project management or insightful data analysis. As well as taking ads management and email and page builds on some projects, you’ll also be called on to support the DCE with copywriting and potentially the DSM with proposal writing.

What you’ll do as part of our team

• Project management

  • Overseen by the Digital Strategy Manager, you’ll manage projects from conception through to build, coordinating work from both our creative and tech teams

  • Being the key point of contact for our partners on specific project strands, communicating with them via email, ClickUp, Slack and on video calls

Abilities and experience you’ll need to have

• 1.5+ years’ experience working in digital campaigning or digital fundraising, with proven experience of delivering results against goals 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of managing multiple stakeholders and building strong working relationships across functions 

• Being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Experience of using digital tools to build and send mass emails, comfort with managing lists 

• Excellent organisation and attention-to-detail with ability to juggle multiple priorities and keep to tight deadlines 

• Knowledge of how to plan and deliver a fair A/B experiment

• Experience of managing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and to scope 

• Experience of managing ads in Meta, and proven ability to interpret the data to optimise against goals

Benefits and location 

Salary: £34,162 if you live inside London, £30,502 (plus £3,000 travel expense allowance) if you live outside London. Under our Employee Ownership Trust model, all team members will also receive an equal share of the profits each year. The amount will depend on how much profit is made.

Contract Term: This is a permanent, full time contract.

Hours: We work a 30-hour 4-day week, from Monday to Thursday. Please note - as this is a full time role, you are not permitted to undertake any additional regular paid work on the Friday. 

Location: You can work remotely from anywhere in the UK or use our office in London Fields, East London. You will need to be able to come to London once or twice a month for in-person meetings, otherwise most of our meetings are held via video conferencing and all our workflow is built to be remote-first.

Special Events Lead

We have a great opportunity for a Special Events Lead to play a vital role in an exciting charity’s Philanthropy team, reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy.

Position: Special Events Lead (Maternity Cover)

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid

About the Role

The Special Events Lead role manages the organisation’s special events from start to finish, raising the visibility of the charity, building relationships with prospects and securing income for the Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Hospital.

They will be responsible for project management and professionally executing the organisation’s special events. Past events have included a fundraising gala for 500 guests at Trinity College, a private reception at a jewellery designer’s studio and a behind-the-scenes tour of robotic surgery at the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• You will take lead responsibility for the operational management and delivery of several Special Events, from dinners and receptions to larger flagship events.
• Create a portfolio of events that will engage a variety of supporters and prospects.
• Develop a yearly events plan for prospects and donors with consideration of cross-team requirements.
• You will manage relationships with volunteer organisers of major special events; not organising the events themselves but being the key point of contact and providing support e.g. income management, marketing support via the comms team, Gift Aid and best practice advice.
• Create detailed event plans with specific objectives and actionable plans, manage event budgets astutely and review whether each event met its objectives.
• Maintain good relationships with committee chairs and committee members where events are being organised by volunteers.
• Take the lead at events; briefing and supervising event staff and volunteers, ensuring that each staff member has a sense of authority and ownership for the successful outcomes of his/her respective areas, as well as the department and organisation.
• Acknowledge, thank and maintain up-to-date, accurate records on the organisation’s CRM database.

About You

As Special Events Lead, you will be educated to a degree level or equivalent of knowledge and experience with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of successful coordination experience. You will have excellent attention to detail and organisation skills as well as the ability to project plan, design and deliver briefings.

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills and are highly skilled in building relationships with different stakeholders. You will also be a great networker and creative relationship builder.
