About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in Chelsea Academy. Our schools are shown on a map on our website.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
· Work directly with students in a professional and safe manner
· Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
· Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
· Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
· Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
· Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
· University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Training and Development
You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support and supervision from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from a Senior University Access Officer and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. There are opportunities for progression, including several additional responsibility roles which are available for UAOs to apply for once they have completed their probationary period successfully.

Our Migration Fund was established in 2015 and has since awarded over £30 million and supported 160+ organisations. We currently grant c. £5 million per year to organisations working towards ‘a world in which everyone is free to move, and no one is forced to move’.
In close collaboration with migrants and those working towards migrant justice, our team has recently reviewed our priorities and criteria, which includes an updated analysis of how positive change might happen, our role in facilitating that change, and the types of work we are keen to support across the UK. This current iteration of the fund was launched in April 2024.

We have since introduced a Steering Group, made up of six external individuals with complementary skills, knowledge and experience who help our team review and shortlist applications to be considered by our decision-making panel, a mix of independent advisors and PHF trustees. This group also supports our overall work, ensuring our funding strategy responds to the opportunities and needs emerging in the field, helping us identify gaps in our portfolio, and expanding our networks.
In addition to our grant-making, the Migration team supports a range of learning exchanges and events to strengthen relationship building and collaboration within the movement. This includes financial and strategic support to emerging collaborations, exploratory and thematic events in the UK and beyond. Every year, we host the Migration Residential, a 2.5-day retreat to support our partners and the wider field to recharge, connect and strategize together.
What will be my main contribution?
As a Grants Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact between applicant organisations and Paul Hamlyn Foundation, undertaking enquiry calls to learn about their work, assess their alignment with our strategic priorities, advise them on the application process, and providing tailored feedback, where needed. You will also review applications alongside the Migration Steering Group and make funding recommendations to our decision-making panel. You will work closely with a portfolio of funded organisations in our migration theme, primarily the Migration Fund. There is a current portfolio of c. 50 live grants that you will manage and be the key point of contact for. You will build strong relationships with funded organisations, responding to emerging needs, providing advice where relevant, and supporting them to achieve their learning and impact goals.
Who will I report to?
You will be supported by and report to the Head of Programme – Migration.
Who will I line manage?
You will not have line management responsibilities. However, you will be expected to work in a small and fully interconnected structure that relies on collaboration, flexibility, and the ability to operate within both formal and informal reporting relationships.
What other key internal relationships will I have?
You will work closely with colleagues in the Grants and Strategic Learning, Insight and Influence teams to share intelligence, develop an understanding of the impact that our funding and support are having, and highlight and celebrate best practice more widely to help drive the change we would like to see. You will also work closely with colleagues in the Finance and Resources team to ensure good and effective grant management.

Main Responsibilities
· Alignment with the values and aims of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, and in particular its commitment to social justice and equality, to tackling disadvantage, fighting prejudice, supporting youth voice and participation.
Grant-making and Management
· Provide prompt and helpful support to potential applicants enquiring about the Foundation’s work, the Fund’s criteria and the organisation’s alignment with it.
· Work alongside the team to proactively identify potential applicants and enable them to apply to the Migration Fund.
· Assess grant applications, analysing their alignment with the Fund’s criteria and priorities, fit with our portfolio, and participating in discussions with the team, Migration Steering Group, trustees and senior leadership to agree on successful applications. Support the team to provide tailored and constructive feedback on applications and hold relationships with applicants throughout the whole process.
· Prepare written reports with detailed analysis and recommendations to present at decision-making panel meetings.
· Manage and monitor a portfolio of grants awarded, which includes supporting organisations to identify their learning goals; reflect on lessons, impact and challenges; review learning reports; respond to emerging issues and needs; authorise and generate grant payments in a timely fashion.
· Support the Head of Programme to continuously review and improve our grant-making processes to ensure that they are accessible and do not perpetuate existing structural inequalities.
· Maintain our grants database (Blackbaud Grantmaking), ensuring that records are accurate, reporting and payments are completed so that we know the status of applications and awarded grants at any time, and so we can better analyse and learn from our portfolio.
· Carry out visits to funded organisations to learn more about how the work is going, their context and help identify gap areas across our portfolio. Visits may be virtual or in person, with some local or national travel across the UK, where needed.
· Support with grant-making and management of the Foundation’s invitation-only funds, where relevant.
Learning
· Take an active and supportive role with funded organisations, helping make connections with potential partners and/or funders, advise them on emerging and strategic issues, and to strengthen learning within and across grant themes.
· Participate in learning and knowledge sharing activities relevant to the team and wider migration field including keeping up to date with relevant policy and practice to inform our strategy and acting as the team lead on specific issue areas, where relevant.
· Take on specific research or development roles within the team as appropriate, which might include maintaining strong relations with partner foundations, supporting funder collaborations, and the development of strategic initiatives.
· Help develop and actively contribute to cross-departmental and multidisciplinary working, supporting continual improvement and professional development.
· Support the Head of Programme to design, deliver and learn from our events and learning exchanges, where needed.
General
· Represent the Foundation at external events, where required.
· Support the work of the communications team to ensure that news stories, grants’ listings, etc. are kept up to date.
· Liaise closely with the grants administration team.

Skills, knowledge, and experience
· Alignment with the values and aims of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, in particular our commitment to equitable grant making and being an anti-racist funder. The ability to apply these principles to ensure good decision making and support for those we fund.
· Demonstrate experience of working in the migration field or on migration issues, in particular migrant communities who experience intersecting forms of exclusion or oppression, and with organisations and groups who work alongside them.
· Demonstrable experience of project / client management skills to support stakeholders throughout the process – from assessments to monitoring within a focus on migration issues
· Evident understanding of the main issues and practices that support or hinder relational, transparent and accountable grant-making.
· Knowledge of the key political and legislative environment affecting migrants and diaspora communities in the UK, with the capability and interest to acquire it in other areas of our current work.
· Interest in how social change happens, including some knowledge of the existing diverse ecology working to tackle systemic and structural inequality and injustice, and how they relate to one another.
· A good understanding of organisational dynamics – such as business planning, financial reporting, performance management and governance – and how these apply to developing the business models, capacity and longer-term sustainability of organisations, ideally within the public or voluntary sectors.

Terms and conditions
· Salary circa £39,000.
· 25 days leave per annum, plus statutory holidays.
· The Foundation will contribute a sum equivalent to 10% of your basic annual salary to the group pension scheme (Aviva) and will match up to an additional 2.5% (optional) of your contributions from the date your employment begins.

What you'll be doing:
In this role, you will work within our amazing Estates team, managing a small team of Area Wardens to deliver reserve management on nature reserves around the Weald and Blean. You'll be involved in:
- Overseeing the day to day delivery of conservation activities on the reserves in Weald and Blean areas.
- Managing the process of developing and producing reserve management plans and accompanying work programmes.
- Trialling new approaches to delivery to maximise biodiversity benefit while minimising cost, such as re-wilding or other lower intensity management practices.
- Developing and managing the teams under your area of responsibility.
- Mentoring and advising your team and supporting their professional development where practicable.
- Developing and managing the Blean and Weald reserve budgets.
- Managing Countryside Stewardship work programmes, bids and claims for Blean and Weald areas and assisting with other areas as may be required.
- Ensuring all reserve operations are undertaken in accordance with agri-environment schemes and the requirements of cross compliance.
- Ensuring health and safety processes are adhered to on reserves in Weald and Blean area.
- Fostering positive working relationships across the organisation and externally to further reserves delivery.
What we need you to bring:
- At least 5 years' experience of working in a nature reserve, wildlife conservation or land management context.
- Experience of developing and delivering nature reserve work programmes.
- Management and supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Experience of day-to-day management of budgets.
- Sound understanding and technical knowledge of wildlife conservation and reserve management techniques and methods as they apply to Kent’s wildlife habitats.
- Good understanding of agri-environment schemes and cross compliance and the associated requirements.
- Effective development of working relationships with different teams across different functions within an organisation.
- Self-motivation with a proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

To take one example, the Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) was founded through our program in 2021 by Lucia Coulter and Jack Rafferty - a former doctor and former consultant - with just £50,000 in funding. LEEP now operates in more than 20 countries, partnering with governments from Malawi to Pakistan. Their work is projected to save 46 million children from lead paint exposure over the coming decades.
While lead has been recognised and regulated as a dangerous substance in many wealthy countries for decades, it’s sadly far too common in many developing nations. As such, it’s one of the biggest causes of lower learning in school and reduced lifetime earnings, cementing cycles of poverty before many have even reached adolescence.

Key Responsibilities
Oversight of the Spear Programme
Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions plus a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Oversee all aspects of the programme coordination and delivery.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report to Resurgo and the church on enrolment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees, as well as their ongoing progress.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Build and implement a strategy for developing and maintaining relationships with local referral partners to build the profile of the Spear programme within Ipswich and ensure the young people who would benefit from the programme are able to access it.
- Steward relationships with young people after initial point of contact, to encourage enrolment and ensure a full cohort is enrolled for each programme.
Line management and training
- Manage the Spear Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Work with and be managed by River Church staff locally, and by a Church Partnerships Manager from Resurgo on a national level, to ensure the flourishing of the Spear centre, its team and young people, and to ensure the fulfilment of our shared mission in Ipswich.
- Work with and report to Resurgo teams on KPIs, and use outcomes data to maximise the effectiveness of the programme.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- Establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement of church members and to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Work with the Head of Operations and the Fundraising Assistant to prepare grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
- Attend and participate in the life of River Church, keeping the congregation updated on the Spear programme to ensure it is a seamless part of the church’s missional work.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in two of our schools in Darwen, Lancashire, delivering two of our programmes – Ignite (Key Stage 4 only) and our new Accelerate programme.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors and coaches, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of our programmes is optimised.
Role responsibilities
- Work directly with students in a professional and safe manner.
- Engage with school staff, your Programme Manager, and students in school to ensure that you have fully enrolled cohorts across both programmes.
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful Key Stage 5 and university applications.
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database in a timely manner (training is provided).
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programmes.

About the Role:
The Water Security Lead is responsible for delivering WaterAid’s water security programming by providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and innovative solutions. - The Water Security Lead is based in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the head of the team. Responsible to Programme Manager – World Habitat Awards
Prime Function: Support the World Habitat Awards team and external partners to identify and seek to encourage the adoption of good, positive and promising housing practices and provide vital support to the team to enable it to work effectively. This is a hybrid role with flexibility for remote working and will include occasional international travel as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Programme delivery
• To support the co-ordination and delivery of World Habitat work including, delivering events, publications and communications outputs as well as monitoring outputs.
• Provide support to the World Habitat Awards process (and related activities) by managing accurate records on a CRM system (Salesforce) and provide reports as required.
• Undertake activities to support colleagues to evaluate World Habitat’s current and previous work and identify good practice to promote awareness and understanding of our impact.
• Be the first point of contact for general enquiries regarding the World Habitat Awards, providing telephone and email support to World Habitat Awards applicants as required.
• Receive and take an active role in the assessment and processing of World Habitat Awards applications.
• Assist with collaboration activities and other transfer work.
• To lead on specific projects as agreed within the World Habitat Awards team.
Communications and networking
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of World Habitat work.
• Communicate content of a specialist or technical nature, to non-experts and experts alike, using high-level skills to tailor messages to specific audiences.
• Support our Communications team by undertaking weekly monitoring of our social media activity and co-ordinating translations.
Other
• Continually update own knowledge and understanding in relevant fields.
• Be an active member of the World Habitat staff team, including contributing to the general intellectual capital and playing an active role in the organisation’s development.
• Undertake travel within the UK and internationally as and when required by the organisation. This is likely to amount to around 5 days per year.

Main Responsibilties:
Project Planning and Oversight

Develop and manage the organisational roadmap, ensuring projects across all departments align with Mentivity’s strategic objectives.

Oversee project planning for the Executive Office, Community Engagement Lead, Respite Provision, and owned initiatives (e.g., transition to charity status, Gradvisor).
Strategic Alignment

Collaborate with department leads to drive projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with timing plans, resource allocation, business needs and resource availability.

Operational and System Improvements

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take on the role of Head of Programme Delivery and Operations (South of England and West Midlands) for our centres in London and the South Coast, East of England, South West England and the West Midlands. You will line manage one Assistant Head of Programme Delivery and three Regional Operations Managers to ensure that centres are working effectively, that the high quality of programme delivery to young people is maintained across the cluster, and that targets are monitored and met. Job Purpose
The main responsibility of the postholder is to ensure the effective and successful operation of IntoUniversity centres in South and East England and the West Midlands, so that young people’s social, academic and pastoral needs are met and they can reach their full potential.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. We are an organisation with team members at different stages of their career, including many in their first roles: We are committed to nurturing talent and providing a developmental culture for all. Our team works in-person 4 days per week (or 3 days for a 0.8 FTE staff member) with 1 day working from home.
Location
The role would be based at one of the IntoUniversity centres in Bristol, Birmingham or London, with regular travel across the network and to our Head Office in London.
Salary
£47,800 Plus additional London contribution of £2,600 for London-based candidates.
