Together Active is looking for a dynamic and driven Programme Lead to spearhead our place-based expansion across Stoke-on-Trent. This unique role offers you the chance to collaborate with a diverse range of partners, driving forward a culture of co-production and distributed leadership to reduce inequalities in access to physical activity.

As the Programme Lead, you will be employed by Together Active but will work directly for the system of partners delivering place-based expansion across the city of Stoke-on-Trent. Your central focus will be to bring people together from all parts of our system to reduce inequalities in access to physical activity.

The Position: 

Our award winning charity client are seeking a part-time Campaigns and Policy Programme Manager.  This is a fantastic time to join the team as they further their ambitious plans to make the online space safer for Black women, raising awareness of safeguarding against digital misogynoir.  You will lead the programme management and implementation of policy, public affairs, research and campaigns work – lobbying government and tech companies and encouraging communities to prioritise and take action when it comes to online abuse.

Requirements:

• Strong ability to construct and deliver research to support wider public affairs and campaigns plans.
• Strong experience leading campaigns and/or policy work.
• Ideally strong existing networks in government and/or tech and/or press.
• Experience in public speaking (including panels and media appearances)
• Understanding of integrating a Black feminist intersectional lens into advocacy work for Black women’s safety.

We are looking for an inspiring programme manager to lead our work and drive concrete changes on access to justice on behalf of the solicitor profession. Being successful in this role means harnessing the expertise of colleagues, our members and external stakeholders to drive a programme and campaigns that increase the visibility, reach and impact of the Law Society's work on access to justice, galvanises stakeholders across the justice sector behind our vision, and secures fairer justice outcomes for all.

You will lead a cross-organisational team of issue and functional experts through matrix management to deliver our 21st Century Justice thought leadership and influencing programme, ensuring it is aligned with the Law Society's broader goals, mission and approach. Working with senior managers, Law Society's Office Holders and colleagues to support broad and high-level stakeholder engagement on access to justice issues, you will create an ambitious programme for change and work with others to deliver a campaign with impact.

Role outline: Managing the domestic retrofit programme at Repowering London; leading the domestic retrofit team to deliver on existing projects and working with the Community Retrofit Director to identify and deliver a sustainable business model for continued delivery. 

Contract: Full-time role with probation period of 3 months.

Salary: £38,400 to £46,400

Location: Primarily Repowering London’s office in Brixton, with option of partial working from home. Minimum of 3 days per week must be spent in the Repowering London office. Support will be provided for remote/home working if you need it.

About the role: 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person with experience of business development, operational delivery, and project management to join Repowering London’s growing team. You will be a core part of our mission to tackle climate change and move towards a more inclusive and sustainable future. 

You will be responsible for delivering existing projects that provide energy efficiency, low-carbon heat and other retrofit support for homes in London, including managing our existing domestic retrofit team. This will include street-level, single-dwelling homes as well as a growing focus on blocks of flats and multi-occupancy buildings. You will also support the Community Retrofit Director to develop a sustainable commercial offer for low-carbon heat and energy efficiency retrofit services. The aim is for Repowering London to offer these services on an ongoing basis with a sustainable business and delivery model. This would include reviewing our opportunity analysis, finalising the growth strategy and business case for approval by the executive team, and leading on implementation. We expect to see the initial launch of a commercial offer for property owners within 12 months of starting the role. 

Additionally, you would support and coordinate with the existing rooftop solar and non-domestic retrofit team, to help identify synergies and build the foundations for the medium-term integration of our rooftop solar and heat decarbonisation offer in a holistic low-carbon retrofit service for both domestic and non-domestic buildings. 

You will be supported by our Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinator, and retrofit outreach team, who you will also line manage. You will also be supported by your line manager, the Community Retrofit Director, and operationally by the wider team, including our Non-Domestic Retrofit Programme Manager, Communications Officer, Finance Officer, and Corporate Support Officer. You will also be part of the Repowering London Management Team – Directors and Programme Managers – to oversee effective and successful operations across the whole organisation.

Person specification 

The right candidate will have a high level of project management and business development experience, with a track record in leading and building teams. You will be comfortable working collaboratively and managing a number of staff and external contractors. Your role will include building relationships with a range of partners, including Local Authorities, technical project partners, grant-making bodies, financial institutions, and building owners, providing strategic oversight and quality control of the work Repowering London are responsible for. 

For this role, we will be looking for and assessing candidates on the following:

• Business planning and business development experience 

• Project management experience 

• Experience of managing and leading a team

• Experience of delivering grant funded projects and managing relationships with funders, including writing bids and applications for new funding 

• Background knowledge of the retrofit sector and low carbon retrofit technologies 

• Knowledge and understanding of grant-funded retrofit schemes (e.g. ECO, GBIS, BUS etc.) 

• Excellent written and oral communications skills and confidence presenting to a wide range of audiences

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, in particular financial modelling in Excel 

• Interest in community engagement and renewable energy 

• Capacity to self-reflect on performance, proactively problem-solve and welcome feedback on performance

• Experience of low carbon heat installations 

• Experience of energy efficiency retrofit 

• Experience of undertaking solar PV feasibility studies

• Experience of building energy modelling, such as SAP or PHPP

Your role as Domestic Retrofit Programme Manager 

As our Domestic Retrofit Programme Manager, you will be the propulsive energy behind establishing and developing our growing low carbon retrofit service. To date Repowering London’s domestic retrofit offer has focused on research and development for innovative approaches to unlocking retrofit at blocks of flats, and delivering place-based domestic retrofit services in Lambeth and Newham that aims to increase awareness of retrofit as well as increase uptake of retrofit, either through existing retrofit grant schemes such as ECO or through working with the able-to-pay market. So far, this offer has been developed through grant funding, while our ambition is to develop sustainable business models to deliver these services ongoing.

Your role would be to build on this initial work with the completion of the business model and commercial terms, the development of a staged strategy for market entry, and to then launch and grow the new service. You will work closely with Repowering London’s Community Retrofit Director, Rooftop Solar and Non-Domestic Retrofit Teams, as well as the Executive Team, to share knowledge and leads, and to support the integration of our operations into a holistic retrofit service. 

You will be part of Repowering’s Management Team and line managed by our Community Retrofit Director.  Working with our Communications Officer, you will also agree messaging and develop materials to communicate Repowering London’s offer to different types of property owner.

A fantastic charity representing a community of families bereaved by gambling-related suicide is looking for a Programme Manager - Gambling Harm Prevention, on a two-year fixed-term contract.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: Home based with travel within the Midlands

As Programme Manager, you will take responsibility for the management and delivery of this range of prevention projects, initially focusing on work in the Midlands.

Key responsibilities include:

• Embedding and overseeing a project management approach to prevention programmes and delivery contracts.
• Coordinating and leading programmes and project meetings with the delivery team, ensuring project deliverables, KPIs and milestones are met.
• Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including management, funders, partners and commissioners.

• Managing monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring external and internal reporting requirements are met and key relationships are effectively managed.

• Supporting the Fundraising Manager, Head of Prevention and Chief Operating and Development Officer to secure funding, by inputting into funding proposals, contract tenders and other fundraising activities.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing projects and project management systems and will have some experience of delivering education, awareness or training initiatives to young people and/or adults. Experience in engaging and building relationships with a variety of relevant stakeholders in health, public health, education and in charities is key, alongside critical awareness of the role of the industry in influencing messaging around gambling. You must also have the ability to travel throughout England, and elsewhere in the UK and Ireland on occasion

Our programme, Topical Talk, brings about these discussions in four ways:

• We create world-class teaching resources for classroom discussions about global news stories

• We offer Topical Talk Prizes: collections of resources for a series in-depth discussions about a big global issue or theme, following which students submit their work for the chance to win prizes

Children who take part in Topical Talk can make seven times more progress compared to their peers in creativity, problem-solving, open-minded listening and confident speaking. THE ROLE 

We’re looking for a qualified teacher or ex-teacher who is excited to play a hands-on role in our team, training and building relationships with Topical Talk teachers in the UK and internationally.

You’ll be responsible, alongside our Teacher Engagement and Development Lead, for supporting teachers to get the most from Topical Talk programmes. You’ll do this by building strong relationships with a range of individual teachers, school groups (for example multi-academy trusts) and organisations. You'll be confident communicating with and motivating teachers, and delivering inspiring teacher training in a range of settings in the UK and internationally. You’ll also work directly with 10- to 16-year-old students on a regular basis, to model lessons to teachers, deliver workshops and facilitate online discussions. 

From time to time you will work with our content team to give input into the creation of interactive lessons on news topics. You’ll share ideas for class activities or topics, join idea-generation and feedback sessions, and occasionally draft lessons yourself.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and deliver teacher training and support to maximise impact of Topical Talk (40%)

• Work with the Teacher Engagement and Development Lead to design and deliver online and in-person teacher training that supports and inspires teachers to run Topical Talk lessons regularly
• Visit schools to observe, and occasionally teach, Topical Talk lessons
• Collect data, such as case studies and progress reports, to help evaluate the impact of Topical Talk 
• Test and evaluate different approaches to teacher support in order to continually improve how we work with teachers

Engage students with Topical Talk lessons (30%)

• Deliver inspiring workshops and lessons about the news to young people aged 10 to 16 globally
• Co-plan and present Live Lessons to a global audience
• Facilitate online discussions between young people during Topical Talk Festivals 
• Collaborate with the content team to share ideas, give feedback and occasionally draft lessons about the news

Build and nurture effective relationships with teachers, school groups and organisations (30%) 

• Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, local education authorities, school districts or multi-academy trusts, to make Topical Talk a long-term success in the schools 
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of Topical Talk in depth in these schools or communities, using evidence to recommend programme-wide changes
• Work with the Head of Marketing and Teacher Engagement Development Lead to recruit schools to participate in Topical Talk Festival, liaising with teachers and persistently following up as needed
• Support teachers to get ready to participate in the Topical Talk Festival, including briefing them, guiding them through the sign-up process and answering their questions / troubleshooting

This role will involve international travel so a valid passport is required. It also involves working with young people, so you will need to have an enhanced DBS check (which The Foundation will organise).

Grants & Programmes Manager

Battersea's Global Programmes Department advances our ambitious plans to play a global role in achieving a positive impact on thousands of dogs and cats. This Department comprises two teams: Academy, which supports the professional development of staff and volunteers in rescues and rehoming organisations and Grants & Programmes, which provides strategic funding and support to organisations and researchers within the animal welfare sector. 

We are seeking a Grants & Programmes Manager to manage the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants & Programmes team. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats, and over the coming five years it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad. 

This is a senior grant making role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Unit, requiring excellent experience of relationship management, building strategic grant programmes and good grant making practice. 

The successful post-holder should be comfortable making proposals, suggesting alternative approaches and solutions, supporting the contributions of others, and advancing the collective interests of a team. Job Purpose

This is the first dedicated role outside of our London-based Programme Officer team, which will be working closely with the Head of Regions - Midlands and North (who is Manchester-based) to support the successful delivery of our contracts across these regions and to ensure we can continue to scale up and reach more pupils in target areas, where the attainment gaps are even starker than outside London.

The Programme Officer will be responsible for the management and overall delivery of their designated programmes. Over the next four years, we aim to scale our tutoring hubs to reach nearly 1,000 pupils per year in core cities and areas across England. This role will involve managing relationships with tutors, parents and clients, while collecting robust qualitative and
quantitative data to measure the impact and build the success of our work. This is a critical role, leading on the delivery and evaluation of multiple programmes, managing key stakeholder relationships, and contributing to the development of our tutoring programmes in our newer delivery regions.

The Programme Officer will ensure high levels of quality assurance, particularly among tutors working in their hubs, so we achieve our intended outcomes. This is a multifaceted role, working across all parts of the organisation to ensure we deliver the best possible results for our pupils.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about education, has strong stakeholder management skills and is familiar with the Greater Manchester area and/or wider North-West region. You should be able to adapt your communication style to effectively engage with clients, parents, tutors, pupils and funders alike, and have strong written and verbal presentation skills. You will bring brilliant project management skills and be comfortable working with data and using it to make informed decisions.

Fine Cell Work (FCW) is a charity and creative social enterprise committed to the rehabilitation of people in prison, and post-release. Our innovative Open The Gate (OTG) programme at our Battersea Hub offers work experience, volunteering opportunities, accredited training, mentoring, and signposting support to participants at any point on their resettlement journey, and we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic Engagement and Support Officer (ESO) to join our team.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by people in contact with the criminal justice system and will work proactively to establish meaningful and sustainable cross-referral pathways with external agencies. They will nurture an aspirational, inclusive, creative, and safe working environment; use their knowledge, insights, and expertise to support tangible outcomes for all OTG participants; and develop the wider programme offer in line with our organisational objectives. 

The role

As well as offering person-centred support and helping to shape our post-release programmes, you would be responsible for:

• Nurturing an aspirational working environment where participants/Apprentices are inspired to achieve their potential.

• Working to build and maintain referral partnerships with external agencies [including HMP resettlement teams, probation services, approved premises and community-based organisations supporting prison-leavers] to increase participant numbers and sustained engagement with Open the Gate.

• Coordinating referrals and assisting with the development of risk management plans, including information gathering, and dissemination.

• Ensuring timely, accurate, and safe recording of all information and personal data.

• Action-planning and goal setting with all Apprentices, in consultation with the Workshop Manager, supporting them to achieve work-ready outcomes in an agreed period.

• Providing day to day practical, pastoral, and sign-posting support to a caseload of Open the Gate participants, or Apprentices, and providing ad-hoc support to graduate Apprentices when required.

• Working with the wider team at FCW to develop and coordinate a series of employability and creative wellbeing workshops for Apprentices.

• Supporting small grant application processes on behalf of OTG Apprentices.

• Responding to safeguarding concerns in line with FCW policy and procedure.

• Providing remote support via telephone and online to FCW experienced prison-leavers who are not regularly attending the Hub.  

• Supporting the Volunteer and Programmes Manager with the delivery of the Service User Involvement Strategy and championing service user involvement across the organisation more broadly.

• Supporting the Volunteer and Programmes Manager to recruit and delivering training to mentors and other volunteers in roles supporting OTG Apprentices.

• Working with the Volunteer and Programmes Manager to develop and enhance the OTG Mentor Offer including as the first point of contact for Mentors pre- and post- mentoring sessions.

Working closely with managers and officers supporting each charity this Funding Programme Manager will provide additional resource and resilience within the small, high-functioning team, across four key areas 1) grant management, 2) evaluation and learning 3) project development and 4) project management.  

Key Responsibilities

Grant development, management and delivery 

• Working closely with the Funding Managers for each of our three charities, provide additional support across the end-to-end grant-making process, including development and delivery of projects in a wide range of size and scope delivering impact across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.  
• Proactively develop and manage a pipeline of funding proposals, working with Trust colleagues to support the development of ideas and high-quality proposals. 
• Support development and delivery of funding streams and opportunities relevant to the needs of the Trust and as a means of attracting impactful projects from a range of staff, including annual open call-outs.  
• Carry out the assessment of proposals for fit and to identify strengths/weaknesses and work with applicants to address these in order to prepare applications for plans for submission for funding approval. 
• Work in partnership with grant holders on implementation of projects, for example, by joining steering groups or advising on barriers encountered within projects to promote effective delivery. 

Learning, systems and evaluation 

• Support reporting, evaluation and learning processes to understand the impact of our funding better, working with our Evaluation & Learning Lead to support implementation of evaluation and learning strategy.  
• Support and advise grant holders on reporting requirements. 
• Analyse reporting received from grantholders on a regular basis, synthesising learning, data and progress into digestible content that can be used by communications and fundraising colleagues as well as internally within the Funding Team.  
• Support the production and circulation of reports to relevant internal departments and Trust forums. 
• Collate high-quality data and use it to draw insights to identify areas where there are opportunities to increase spend of charitable donations. 
• Work with colleagues to ensure our systems and processes are effective, accessible and user friendly, in line with best practice across the sector and in other comparable industries. 

Project management 

• Provide focused end-to-end project management within the team to aid the delivery of cross-team projects and delivery of strategically significant and more complex funded projects across the three charities.   

Project development 

• Working closely with Funding Managers, Trust and Fundraising colleagues, develop content and proposals for fundraising purposes based on projects in development pipeline and approved by relevant funding committees.  
• Establish and implement ways of working with fundraising colleagues across both high value and public fundraising teams to ensure proposals are accurate, inspiring and fundraisable.  

Increasing engagement 

• Liaison with our communications and fundraising teams to devise and promote effective ways of working, including sourcing and sharing information and building collaborative approaches to projects. 
• Maximise the networking opportunities by attending Trust events and meetings and developing a network of contacts that will extend the work of our NHS Charities across the Trust. 

Governance and compliance 

• Ensure compliance with Charity requirements including working with applicants, grant holders and special purpose fund holders. This will include problem solving to resolve areas of non-compliance and managing sensitive relationships to retain engagement. 
• Work with the internal Charity and Fundraising colleagues plus operational colleagues in the Trust to address compliance issues and troubleshoot to find solutions. 

Other responsibilities 

• On occasion take on additional responsibilities relating to individual charities to cover for relevant Funding Managers.  
• Contribute to the operational and strategic development of our NHS Charities work, including through over-arching and corporate projects. 
• Undertake other duties which may from time to time be requested by the Trust Funding Director and of Heads of Department

Key responsibilities:

• Management contracts, staff and resources: You will ensure all programmes are delivered within budget, and you will oversee contracts and reporting, producing convincing reports that show impact and delivery of KPIs.
