The important stuff
Salary: £23,000 - £26,000 pro rata
Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm, Tuesday –Thursday, Part-time, with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)
Location: Alive Church Gateshead

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics
Relationship management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
- The Spear Coach is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
- Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Alive Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation

Our Services
We run stay and play sessions from a bright and beautiful double-decker bus that has been converted into a mobile early years community play space for families. Our sessions take place both inside and outside the Playbus in different locations across Hackney, providing a rich play and learning environment for children aged 0-4yrs old and a welcoming space for their parents and carers. We listen to the needs of parents and carers and help families to access support services where needed.
As well as our Playbus sessions, we bring our informal, welcoming approach to baby groups that we run in community settings.

Co-Director - Strategy & Finance
Job Purpose
To work closely with the Co-Director (Operations) to co-lead Hackney Playbus, implementing the charity’s Strategic Plan to ensure financial sustainability, strong governance, and operational success in delivering on Hackney Playbus’s vision and mission. To act as an ambassador in public forums, safeguard the charity’s assets, and ensure that families remain at the heart of everything the charity does.

What happens next?
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Playbus session during the week beginning 10th March. This will be a chance to meet the team, interact with families, and experience the Playbus in action.
Panel interviews will be held on Friday 14th March at the Hackney Playbus depot and office, so that candidates can see our base of operation.
Shortlisted candidates will also need to complete a financial task on the day of the interview, which will form part of the assessment process.

The Job
We are looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Trust Fundraising Manager with proven experience in trust fundraising, and management, to lead our successful Trust Fundraising Team.
The role is based full time at RBLI’s HQ in Aylesford, Kent and provides the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the life and impact of the charity across support for homeless veterans, disability employment and older care.
The postholder line manages two Senior Bid Writers and one Trust Fundraiser, as well as freelancers, securing over £1m annually for varied revenue projects. The projects include:
Lifeworks – RBLI’s award-winning national employability support for unemployed veterans
STEP IN – RBLI’s holistic support for veterans overcoming homelessness
SBMC and BBMC – RBLI’s outstanding social enterprise factories employing 70% workers with disabilities and health conditions
The post holder will lead on the creation of persuasive grant applications and sponsorship proposals, mainly for charitable trusts, lottery and statutory funding opportunities, but also works with the wider fundraising team to support and co-ordinate with major capital, corporate and HNWI approaches.

Additionally, you will assist the Deputy Head of Health and Wellbeing in overseeing and managing the Health and Wellbeing department.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use excellent leadership skills to deliver high-quality services.
- Seek opportunities for future growth of the personalised care service and wider H&W department.
- Develop and lead partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the personalised care service, providing regular reports.

- Identify and apply for alternative funding sources to further the work programme of personalised care service.
- Work proactively as part of the Health and Wellbeing Management team to develop and improve the department. This is likely to include service planning, support with tenders and bids, staff development initiatives, and other related areas.

- Monitor and document income and expenditure according to Enable policy and procedure.
- Develop appropriate budgets for new developments with Deputy Head of Health and Wellbeing.
- Ensure programme budgets are monitored in line with requirements of funders.

Thames Life Community Development Trust:
Thames Life began in October 2017 as Thames Ward Community Project, with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to combine a community organising and asset-based approach to one of the most deprived areas in the UK (Thames View and Barking Riverside Wards) and also an area of rapid development and regeneration. The project was tasked to establish a resident-led community development trust leading to the establishment of a charity in June 2020.
Thames Life is a charitable company and transforming the area into a place that people are proud of, where they can see a positive and exciting future and feel able to influence and shape the changes that are taking place over the next decade and beyond. Thames Life is laying the foundations for a community that has a strong identity and sense of common purpose; that takes great pride in the rich diversity of its residents; that feels it can shape its own future rather than simply be on the receiving end of decisions made elsewhere; that is better prepared to meet the challenges of major physical and demographic changes over the coming years; and that is determined to play its part in transforming services.
Purpose: The Communications, Campaigns, Marketing and Design Officer will work with the CEO, resident trustees and the wider community to consolidate the communications infrastructure and ensure the promotion of resident voice through high quality communications, informed by regular community outreach. The postholder will use strong marketing, social media and communications skills to enable residents to become active and enterprising citizens, working together for the common good of existing and future communities. This post is funded by Trust for London.
Thames View and Barking Riverside Wards: The residents of Barking and Dagenham have a number of complex challenges facing its residents: lack of opportunity, economic precarity, housing insecurity and homelessness, high rates of domestic violence, and significantly higher levels of deprivation and unemployment than almost any other London borough. Thames View and Riverside Wards reflect these adversities. Barking Riverside Ward has a higher-than-average instance of domestic violence and obesity amongst children in reception in comparison with other wards. It also has 80.6% Black, Asian and Multi Ethnic (BAME) population, with Thames View Ward having 76.4% BAME population. Thames View Ward has the second highest instance of unemployment benefit-related claimants across the borough wards with 64.6% of residents living in deprived households.
Social cohesion has been a major problem over the last twenty years as the Borough has been transformed from a white working-class area to a multi-racial part of Greater London. The next twenty years will bring another massive change, as large tracts of derelict land along the River Thames are reclaimed and developed to build 20,000 new homes on the Riverside site alone and close to 4,000 on the Thames Road redevelopment programme.
Main responsibilities:
Strategic leadership and campaigns
· Work with the CEO to develop/deliver comms strategies across the entire spectrum of resident-led communications disciplines including: media and public relations, internal comms, brand marketing, advertising, marketing, digital and social media and production of materials.
· Report on and analyse all aspects of communications
· Develop key messages, lead on creating and maintaining appropriate and consistent language and terminology across all media
· Act as a ‘brand guardian’ ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications
· Identify issues that support a campaign focus and balance with mitigation of risk or benefit in regard to reputational status
· Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to data protection, communications innovation, legislation, and codes of practice
Impact
· Work with the CEO to develop and implement an impact framework for the organisation to ensure the work we do connects well with our vision, mission and aims and can be easily measured, evidenced and communicated using simple and consistent data collection tools.
Marketing and design
· Take responsibility for researching and developing our marketing approach, delivering a simple marketing plan (either in conjunction with or as part of an expanded communications strategy) focused on how we raise awareness of, and engagement with, Thames Life and its associated projects and activities among residents locally, including appropriate KPIs to measure performance.
Newsletter and other Publications
· Oversee production of community newspaper (River View) and support resident editorial board. Lead on all aspects of production, design and distribution and liaise with funders as necessary to negotiate content etc.
· Design, copy-write and distribute regular e-bulletins to promote publications, programme activities, events and other key information
· Oversee the management of our database
· Lead on copywriting and production of marketing materials and key publications including Annual Review.
Website
· Take responsibility for the development and management of the website and blog, including generating content, making improvements to functionality, maximising its potential and monitoring its performance.
Social media
· Manage and expand social media presence, sourcing and sharing newsworthy information from across Thames Life’s activities.
· Produce regular reports detailing social media activity to share with staff and steering group members
Publicity and media
· Increase the organisation’s profile across a range of media outlets, and with influencers and organisations
· Act as a spokesperson when necessary
· Develop relationships with target media representatives
· Write releases, articles and statements
· Respond to requests from the press for comments, views and supporting information and maximise opportunities for further engagement on relevant topics
· Supervise and advise other staff members and trustees in their drafting of communications plans and statements
· Identify opportunities for Thames Life programmes/activity to be nominated for awards
Internal communications
· Enhance communications with colleagues and develop an understanding of Thames Life’s work and needs of its users
· Provide training to staff on branding where necessary and ensure staff are well briefed on key communications issues
· Analyse all aspects of communications on a quarterly basis and prepare a report to present
Staff and supplier management
· Manage any volunteers and interns
· Manage relationships with suppliers of services essential to communication work
Other
· Take an active role in Thames Life’s external events and campaigns

This role will support a new approach to working across high value income streams to develop a shared case for support which will include setting up engagement plans and activities, coordinating internally with colleagues from across the global network including programme teams. This role will suit someone who is has a background EITHER in a significantly high value gift fundraising role or of managing a high value fundraising campaign.
Alongside that, we'd love to hear from individuals with the following expertise and experience:
* A solid understanding of what makes a compelling and comprehensive vision at the scale required to inspire and build effective relationships with philanthropic, corporate and government funders giving £250,000 and upwards
* Experience of developing complex, multi-national, multi-stakeholder cases for support and of turning complexity into compelling clarity

The responsibilities of the Senior Client Finance Manager will include:
- Responsibility for delivery of budget and forecasts by Client, Property and tenancy, using complex data from MRI Horizon general ledger and using Power BI and Excel tools. This will include leading staff in producing accurate income & expenditure budgets for our services for clients.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

About the role
As our Communications Lead, you will be responsible for delivering communications content, ensuring our communications are effective across our platforms and audiences. With the oversight of our Deputy Director Operations & Communications (DDOC), you will drive strong engagement from the health community and allow their voices to have maximum impact on public and political discourse on our key health justice issues.

You’ll have experience delivering content for specific audiences to meet organisational objectives, and experience working on issues of health equity and justice, abolition and anti-racism. You will work well as part of a team, supporting campaigners and members to produce impactful content, and training them with the skills they need to do this. You may also have experience with specific skills in video production, or individual-giving fundraising.
