Main function of job
This is a key role in the Bereavement Support Service. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, online enquiries, online community, Family Days, and online and printed resources.

1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support enquiries and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.
To be the primary contact for the bereavement support services.
To cover and answer the bereavement support helpline and online enquiries responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

Send materials to bereaved contacts, including bereavement packs and follow up e-cards, and ensure all paperwork and databases are updated with each contact in line with the department guidelines, including Raiser’s Edge, Excel databases.
Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support FB Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate
To arrange face to face events for bereaved families including family days, York Carol Service and memorial events to an agreed programme.
Work with the Engagement Team around social media bereavement support posts.
2. Respond to all enquiries regarding the Care of the Next Infant (CONI) programme.
Respond to CONI enquiries from families and professionals and pass referrals to the CONI team in a timely way.
Update the CONI spreadsheet on enquiries progress and outcome.
Ensure families are offered Bereavement Support
3 Manage the Befriender programme with the Head of Support and Information and deliver training to befrienders and support befrienders in their role.
Support Befrienders in their work by maintaining regular contact and support, offering advice and guidance when required.
Keep Befriender records up to date
Allocate Befrienders when required, ensuring there is an even spread of work between the befrienders
To collate, finalise and send out the Befriender newsletter on a monthly basis in conjunction with other members of the Team
Plan and deliver befriender training to new and existing befrienders
Support befrienders in their role and deliver regular online catch up sessions.
Help with the organisation, administration of the Befriender Conference and other events, facialitaing sessions and presentations.
Support the administration and preparation of Befriender Training, attend and participate when required and assist with the new befriender digital documents.
5 Ensure the bereavement support services are promoted to bereaved families and professionals working with bereaved families
Assist with the facilitation of Bereaved Families’ Panel and running online sessions.
Keep up to date with the bereavement support world including joining National Bereavement Alliance, Child Bereavement Network and research around grief and bereavement.
Attend events as required to represent the Lullaby Trust’s bereavement support services
6 Ensure the records and services of the department are kept up to date
Ensure bereaved contacts are added and updated on Excel and Raiser’s Edge
Maintain ongoing knowledge and training on the Lullaby Trust’s advice and the scientific knowledge behind this advice
Collate statistics, as required on areas of work within the support services team.
Assist with the services’ evaluation and impact processes including self-evaluation feedback.
Provide other administrative support to the team as required.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
As a Core Humanitarian Standard Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the organisational and key stakeholder compliance to the Nine Commitments of CHS. This will require working directly with CHS Champions to embed it across internal and external work streams. Reporting to the Quality and MEAL Principal Advisor, the role will monitor and drive departmental improvement plans, develop and deliver training workshops, participate in CHS meetings and lead the internal and external liaison on CHS. The co-ordinator will play a pivotal role in preparing the organisation for independent verification and certification and transitioning current activities to the updated CHS.?
We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role and the recruitment is to run on a rolling-basis, it will be closed once a suitable candidate is appointed.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Core Humanitarian Standard Co-ordinator include:
- HA UK, global teams and partners embed and implement CHS principles across operations, policies and procedures

What we’re looking for in our Core Humanitarian Standard Co-ordinator include:
- Ideally degree-educated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences or a related field
- Minimum of three years in humanitarian or development settings with a focus on quality, accountability and standards
- Extensive knowledge and understanding on CHS
- Experience of applying CHS, Sphere Standards and other humanitarian quality and accountability frameworks
- Possess strong project management and coordination skills to steer work from start to finish
- An experienced communicator able to converse with multiple teams and at different levels
- Proficient in data collection, monitoring and evaluation
- Competent and literate with IT applications
- Culturally sensitive and able to work with diverse teams and in challenging environments

- Coaching the support team to scrutinise our CRM system to understand current priorities and to identify opportunities for new service development
- Collaborating and influencing colleagues across the wider organisation by promoting excellence and organisational effectiveness.
- Working alongside the Head of Service Delivery and Volunteering and the senior management team (SMT) to deliver the strategic plan
- Compiling monthly reports, ensuring that the SMT and the board of trustees have reliable information that feeds into all areas of decision making

- Working with KPIs such as: response times, matching rate, new service development and volunteer and older person satisfaction
- Co-leading SDO meetings and contributing to all-staff meetings

- Leading and developing the annual volunteer reward and recognition programme, working with the Head of Service Delivery and Volunteering

About the role
As the Project Manager leading the Human Rights Consortium Cymru project, you will lead the strategic design and delivery of a project aimed at strengthening the voluntary sector’s ability to influence law and policy on human rights in Wales and at the UK level. You will ensure the project fosters collaboration, amplifies the sector’s voice, and builds capacity to address critical challenges in the evolving political and policy landscape up to and beyond the Senedd elections.

Mellon Educate is an Irish-based African development charity founded by Niall Mellon in 2002. From the enormous collective effort of their volunteers, in conjunction with the South African government, they have built houses for 250,000 homeless people in South Africa’s townships.
In 2013, the charity redoubled its commitments to those less fortunate in Africa, pledging a 10-year education development programme to provide better education to more than 100,000 African children.
Mellon Educate wishes to recruit a Grant Writer on a part-time OR full-time basis with specific experience and a proven track record of success in educational grant applications in Sub-Saharan Africa from medium and large sized international funders, sovereign donors, corporate and philanthropic foundations and institutional donors.
Role Purpose:
This is a brand-new position that has been created to increase Mellon Educate’s capacity to secure grants on a global scale. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying suitable funding opportunities and coordinating, preparing and writing funding applications.
The successful candidate will work with colleagues to develop and implement Mellon Educate’s strategic approach to funding against agreed key performance indicators. This role requires an enthusiastic self-starter, with good knowledge of educational grant-writing, exceptional persuasive writing and organisational skills and a good knowledge of the South African education system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for identifying, preparing, producing and submitting grant applications and funding proposals.

Then join Shelter as a Store Development Manager and you could soon be key in helping us to further develop our already thriving network of shops.
About the role
The focus of this role is the ongoing development of the shops chain with a specific focus on our large format furniture shops. For our existing shops this will involve supporting the shop and field teams working to optimise income opportunities through the delivery of operational excellence. Regarding new shops this will involve working closely with the property team around site evaluations and assessments and project managing the retail element of the development.
The role will involve developing and launching an operating model for our furniture business to encompass logistics, merchandising, optimisation and service initiatives. Working in partnerships with the retail area managers to maximise shop performance with the primary focus being on our furniture shops. Liaising with the property and facilities team in opening of new and pop-up shops, particularly around site selection and merchandising and a range of internal partners and external agencies to ensure the smooth delivery of all projects including the property team, community shop managers and shop support team.
About you
You will need to have experience of charity and high street furniture retailing utilising commercial skills to drive the business, as well as experience of being involved in shop developments or new shop openings. You will need to demonstrate skills including being analytical, be able to problem-solve and strong project management skills. Working collaboratively will need to come naturally to you and the ability to work across multiple internal and external teams to deliver projects and activity.
Importantly you will need to have a full UK driving licence and flexible working style due to the role involving significant travel across England and Scotland, you will be provided with a car and will receive full travel expenses to enable you to do this.

The role
NEA has an exciting opportunity for a Training and Education Officer to support with the delivery of our accredited training and qualifications to stakeholders across the United Kingdom as well as develop and deliver our expanding education programme nationwide.
You will work across both the training and education teams to develop and deliver training courses and education workshops to frontline workers, volunteers and young people from a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations.
Our training courses and workshops cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low-carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice. You will work alongside the training team to develop, design and deliver these engaging online and face-to-face courses and qualifications. You will act as an examiner for all NEA qualifications, assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications; and have the ability to identify new opportunities for training and assessment product development.
You will work closely with the existing education team to enhance the current education provision of the charity; you will develop and deliver education sessions in line with programme and funding needs. Delivery will include both Primary and Secondary school sessions as well as bespoke education sessions for care leavers, young carers, youth offenders and children soon to be attending university or college.

What you will need to succeed
You will possess a relevant training or education qualification and have recent, demonstrable experience in delivering adult training and or primary / secondary school sessions. Ideally, you will also bring experience in one or more of the following fields: energy, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues, or housing.
With excellent communication skills and IT skills, you will be adaptable and bring a lot of energy to the team. You’ll be brimming with ideas and enthusiasm and have a passion to deliver training and education to people from diverse backgrounds and the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
You will be expected to deliver training and education sessions depending on organisational need, as well as occasionally delivery in wider England and Wales. This will require overnight stays and flexibility on the part of the post holder.
The role of Training and Education Officer will be part of the Development and Partnerships Directorate and the postholder will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.
