Purpose of the Job 

Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind run an innovative crisis prevention service designed as a place for children and young people at risk of mental health crises to de-escalate and have access to a skilled staff team to support them. The Circle is open out of hours (3pm-11pm or 12pm-8pm weekends and holidays), 365 days a year, and has been designed to reduce the need for young people to attend A&E. Co-designed by young people, it is a friendly and accessible space.The mental health adviser role is key to the support that children and young people will receive on site, and you will have the opportunity to work with 5-18 year olds, as well as providing signposting and support to parents/carers and other agencies.

This Mental Health Adviser role would suit an experienced Mental Health Youth Worker, CAMHS support worker, Youth Counsellor, Child Wellbeing Practitioner, Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist with some training in MH interventions like CBT,  or other roles that have given you experience and skills in  working with Children and Young People presenting with difficulties related to their Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team dedicated to providing support to children and young people who are at risk of mental health crisis, or may otherwise attend A&E.
• Offer one to one support via drop in or appointments, and be child-centred in that support.
• Work alongside children and young people, their parents/carers and families in increasing self-management of presenting difficulties.
• Signpost anyone accessing the service to appropriate and local on-going support; and build up your knowledge and networks of such support.
• Understand and implement safeguarding procedures, and be familiar with safeguarding law, and how it applies to our work.
• Follow risk procedures, be familiar with completing risk assessments, and refer to on-call or senior managers appropriately.

You will have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience of supporting children and/young people in a mental health service or similar role in a paid or volunteer capacity, in a 1:1 and group setting
• An ability to form supportive relationships with families, and tailor support to individual need.
• A child-centred approach to work.
• Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issues and the ability to integrate into your work.

About the role:

Our Health team has an exciting opportunity for three new roles to join the team. Two of these roles will be focused in our North London TST team, and one in our Lewisham hostel team with a focus on improving the barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness when accessing health care. 

As a Health Lead, your role will focus on developing and embedding SHPs health approach into the services the charity provides.  It will involve working with and supporting those living within our hostels who have underlying health needs to access and maintain the health care they need. To complete initial health screening tools, create a health support profile  plan for each client and to make referrals to and support them in engaging with the correct services  (i.e. dentistry, podiatry). In this role you will complete health mapping and use this information to influence partnerships formed with external services to help overcome barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness. 

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality Disorder, complex trauma and addiction.  The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients, supporting them to engage in health care support and see an improvement in their overall physical health.   

About you:

To be successful, you will have:

• A knowledge of (or willingness to learn) about common health issues and the barriers to health access that people experiencing homelessness may encounter.
• Ability to find ways to engage and develop relationships with clients who may have a low level of interaction with and/or suspicion of services. 
• Good understanding of local level health set up/services i.e. homeless health providers and teams. 
• Confidence in working both as part of a team and independently. 
• Skills and understanding of creating and monitoring support plans and record-keeping with regards to client support, safety and safeguarding issues. 
• The ability to advocate for and coordinate access to health care for clients with multiple disadvantage.

With 1 in 5 children struggling with their mental health, our surf therapy intervention is needed now more than ever. We transform the lives of children struggling with depression and anxiety. Through our 6 week course we help them to feel calm, confident, to have positive thoughts about themselves, to have higher self esteem and trust in others. We work with over 2000 children and young people across the UK every year and have reached over 14,000 over the past 14 years.

It is an exciting time to join the charity - we have a new CEO in post who has plans to take this charity to new heights - reaching even more children than ever before and we need an experienced fundraiser who can help us achieve that vision. What the job involves

We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. 

As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors. 

Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, you'll maintain the integrity of our data records in alignment with GDPR and organisational policies.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a fundraiser who understands high value fundraising. You’ll have experience in building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts with major donors, companies, and potentially grant funders. Working in collaboration with our high value fundraisers, Research and Support and Influencing teams to create engaging and bespoke propositions. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator, often translating complex and technical information to a range of audiences and stakeholders in multiple formats (e.g. proposals, presentations or web copy). • Create and present high quality, persuasive funding bids to C-suite audiences and senior stakeholders
• Present and attend meetings alongside senior leaders and stakeholders at UK Youth
• Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to identifying new streams of income from different corporate audiences
• Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop the corporate partnerships offer beyond income generation, identifying opportunities for corporate partners to offer their skills and expertise to further UK Youth’s charitable objectives
• Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and recognised, working closely with the finance team
• Ensure that the CRM is up to date and accurate at all times
• Keep up to date with trends, research and data on fundraising and corporate partnerships, helping to inform long-term strategy

Experience we're after

• Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
• Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
• Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
• Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

Are you ready to lead and develop this pioneering new project in partnership with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC). Do you thrive on building trust and engagement with young people, school communities and families?

As the Breck Foundation's new Project Coordinator (Pan Sussex), with the support of the CEO, you will lead the initial project set up, the recruitment of schools and young people, followed by all training and coordination of the delivery.

The post holder will need to reside in Sussex and be required to work from home permanently but willing and able to travel regularly to various locations across East and West Sussex. Occasional travel farther afield as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role, to deliver aspects of the programme and to engage with other stakeholders and colleagues.

Breck Foundation 

Breck Foundation is a unique and dynamic organisation that makes a real difference. The charity was founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. We inform, educate and campaign to help young people and the wider UK public reclaim the internet from those who seek to harm others through it. Our educational programmes reach thousands of students, parents and safeguarding professionals each year.

The Project

Over the last few years, the Breck Foundation worked closely with Volunteer Police Cadet Units in Surrey and Tower Hamlets to train cadets as ‘Breck Ambassadors’, equipping them with the training needed to talk in schools to their peers about staying safe online and the key signs of grooming.

We are proud to take this successful project further having secured funding with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC) to recruit and train up to 30 ‘Youth Ambassadors’ (for online safety) in schools across Sussex. The Youth Ambassadors will learn how to tell Breck’s story and empower young people with the tools they need to stay safe online. Working closely with schools to enable the students to become Online Safety Ambassadors for their school community, advocate for their peers and to be a voice of expertise and counsel. You will work with schools and community groups to generate impact through Breck’s story (on online grooming) and other important topics related to children’s online safety.

This flagship project for the OSPCC will launch in April 2025 (Coordinator starts in January 2025) and run for at least 12 months, with potential funding up to three years. We hope it will set a precedent for others to follow our lead and develop similar programmes for young people across the UK.

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director who will be responsible for the work of the charity within the UK. The Director will be the strategic and day to day leader of the UK organisation and will also work hands-on not only with his/her direct reports but also all teams in the office. We are seeking a leader who can take the UK charity’s fundraising to new heights; thus, this is a particularly important focus area.

The role will be directly overseeing the World Cancer Research Fund UK’s Fundraising and Health Information Departments. You will report to the CEO and work in partnership with the UK CEO and other senior executives in updating and implementing the organisation’s strategy and objectives. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. You will have proven experience of delivering fundraising objectives as well as a strong track record in communications and up to date knowledge of social media and digital strategies. Substantial experience of management of teams at both strategic and tactical level including developing skills, abilities, performance management and confidence in staff is required as are high level speaking skills.

What we do Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, London SE16. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with children and families’ programmes and a range of volunteering projects.

The role

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting older people aged 55+ in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe: providing strength-based assessments of individual needs and support to help reduce loneliness, improve health and wellbeing and increase older adult’s opportunities to connect to their local community.

• Delivering a shared phoneline and inbox offering signposting support to older adults.

About you

You are passionate about the power of community, and particularly volunteers, to connect and support people, and you like to work in collaboration with others. You are methodical with demonstrable experience in supporting older or vulnerable adults, particularly able to show experience in working with volunteers to meet the needs of the community. We have recently received funding to explore expansion into Scotland for the Faith in Affordable Housing project. This will be a 15-month project with potential to expand, subject to funding.

The proposed project is to undertake a scoping exercise across Scotland, to ascertain the need for social and affordable housing, and the key stakeholders providing housing, as well as the potential presented by faith organisation-owned assets to meet housing need. The resulting feasibility study and business plan will then inform the potential next steps for Faith in Affordable Housing Scotland.
