We are seeking a Senior Strategic Funding Specialist working across all income streams within our Philanthropy and Partnerships team. The role holder will develop and have oversight of donor communications and strategies that support the generation of unrestricted, co-financing and emergency funding. This role manages two team members.

This role will provide the opportunity to lead a small team to produce inspiring communications to secure the most strategic income for the ActionAid Federation: unrestricted, humanitarian and co-financing funding. - Produce compelling communications for a range of high-level supporters, including Trusts and Foundations, Individuals and Private Sector donors and prospects. - Coordination of emergency appeals, oversight of all co-financing and development of strategic proposals and reports. - Work with colleagues across the ActionAid Federation to understand and communicate funding needs to potential supporters.

To be successful in this role you will have

• Significant experience in producing high quality, compelling written materials for an external audience displaying a high level of copy writing skills and attention to detail 
• A proven track record in writing successful high value fundraising proposals and securing significant donations from major donors, charitable trusts and foundations and/or corporate donors 
• Proven experience of developing appropriate strategies in line with organisational and departmental objectives 
• Experience in leading a cross team project or strategy which involves multiple stakeholders
• Proven experience in managing a varied workload, delegating work effectively, taking initiative and meeting deadlines

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. Project Coordinator

The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)

Responsibilities

Supporting project delivery (70%)

• Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
• Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
• Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.
• Supporting the team to include and prioritise beneficiary perspective to lead project design, implementation and monitoring procedures

Fundraising (20%)

• Reporting to donors and funders on project delivery, ensuring deadlines for reporting are met, collating data and Ethiopian team feedback, and writing up funder reports in a timely manner.

About the Role:

1. Manage the Muslim Aid HQ Finance function, ensuring continuous financial review including costs and revenue recognition.
2. Responsibility for all month end process in monthly management accounts reporting.
3. Prepare management accounts including analysis of variances and reporting to budget holders, LT and Board.
4. Ensuring UK & International purchase invoices and payment vouchers are correctly coded, authorised, recorded on the finance system, payment and dealing with queries within a timely manner.
5. Maintain the banking relationships and be up to date with financial regulations specifically regarding banking sanctions.
6. Administer payments to Country Offices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Educated to Bachelor’s degree level & hold UK Accountancy qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA or CIMA).
2. Substantial proven post qualification experience working in a similar position in an INGO, including Senior Management experience, preferably in similar context.

We have a highly skilled team of 30 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of seven staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.

Temwa UK has an experienced and high functioning board of Trustees who are very engaged. The board member who oversees the fundraising portfolio is very active, providing support to the Fundraising & Development Manager and the fundraising team as a whole.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Managing the fundraising strategy and donor relations with oversight of the fundraising office

• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the charity’s income generation strategy, ensuring targets are achieved.
• Align the fundraising strategy with the communications and marketing strategy.
• Act as the organizational expert on income generation, leading the team to expand all relevant fundraising streams.
• Maintain and enhance current income streams, including trust fundraising, corporate fundraising, high value donors, and individual giving.

• Collaborate with the management team to reach key audiences and achieve strategic goals.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:

The ideal applicant would have the following attributes

Lambourne End Centre are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator.  The post holder will be responsible for raising revenue and capital funds primarily from trusts, companies and through organising fundraising events to support the work of the Centre. South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service is looking for an Outreach Worker to support adult survivors of domestic abuse across Waverley/Guildford Boroughs and to also take the lead in advocating for our LGBTQ+ service (Surrey Pride Awards 2024). You might be part of the LGBTQ+ population and/or have experience of LGBTQ+ needs or the impact of discrimination. 

You may have experience of helping those who have been affected by abuse or other trauma. You will use your compassion and listening skills to provide emotional and practical support and help survivors feel safe and empowered. The role includes providing risk assessment, advice, advocacy, safeguarding and liaison with other professionals for example Police, Social Services and Local Authorities. 

As part of our adult outreach team, you will support all victims and survivors of domestic abuse living in our area no matter what their age, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or class. 

We have built strong links across Surrey, raising awareness of our LGBTQ+ service that supports members of the LGBTQ+ population across the county. Role Purpose

· Schools and colleges running the Career Ready programme

Regional Managers are also responsible for building and maintaining a local network of employer supporters and seeking opportunities for new employer support.

There will be opportunities to be creative, as well as being autonomous in how you run and develop the programme with the Career Ready schools and colleges in your area.

We are embarking on a large-scale project to expand and enhance the facilities and services of Living Potential Care Farm. We urgently seek an experienced and dynamic Fundraiser to lead our fundraising efforts, ensuring the successful realization of this transformative initiative.

Role Summary:

The Fundraiser will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the expansion project. This includes identifying and securing funding from diverse sources such as grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, foundations, and lotteries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising for large projects, excellent communication skills, and a strong network within the philanthropic community. Due to the urgency of this project, the candidate must be able to start immediately and hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a detailed fundraising plan for the project.

- Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, trusts, foundations, corporate sponsors, and lotteries.

The Interim Financial Controller sits within a Finance Team, which provides the full range of financial support, reporting and services across Conciliation Resources to support the efficient and effective running of the organisation and the delivery of its work.

Job Purpose 

The Financial Controller has responsibility for the maintenance of business processes and controls, expenditure and balance sheet transactions. He/she also works with the rest of the Finance Team and other teams to ensure smooth and timely project and statutory audits. The Interim Financial Controller will provide cover for this role while the postholder is on maternity leave. 

Scope and Accountability

The Organisational Support team provides support to all parts of Conciliation Resources in the areas of financial management, personnel (HR) management, fundraising, information and communications technology, facilities and organisational communications. 

The post-holder works closely with others in the Finance Team and other staff across Conciliation Resources as well as our organisational partners. This is a key role in both delivering and developing our financial controls framework, processes and procedures and being able to respond to and resolve problems. The Interim Financial Controller will also have line management responsibilities.

Person Specification

Essential 

• Experience in managing projects funded by the European Union, FCDO and other donors, including donor relationship management, programme development and narrative and budget reporting. 

• Qualified Accountant (CCAB) with substantial experience of working in an accounting function 

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of internal controls and finance & accounting processes 

• Proven experience of managing month end and year end processes including audits 

• Substantial experience of balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules for audits 

• Experience of managing a purchase ledger and payments function within a busy finance function 

• Good working knowledge of tax and VAT in the Charity context 

• Meticulous and good attention to detail 

• Good communication skills 

• Determined and assertive, prepared to get into the detail to understand the complex issues and find solutions 

• Proficiency in the use of Excel and major financial accounting packages

Following a merger between St Barnabas Hospices (incorporating St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House) and Martlets, we are now the largest group of hospices in Sussex and one of the largest in the UK.
