Grants Manager-Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £426 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and members to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will maintain strong oversight of the DEC funded programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners and external briefings over the duration of the response.
Key responsibilities:
Communication and Collaboration
· Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication.
· Maintain strong understanding of response context.
· Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders.
Analysis and Reporting
· Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation.
· Contribute to the review and analysis of plans and reports submitted by member charities in response to DEC appeals.
· Share timely and relevant information and analysis from plans and reports with DEC member charities and local partners.
· Manage external reporting requirements including preparation of stakeholder reports and infographics.
Management and Leadership
· Coordinate the team’s surge capacity to deliver points above, which may involve managing and inducting a team of external consultants and training them in the use of our knowledge management system [Box].
· Coordinate with the Programme Quality, Accountability & Learning team to ensure monitoring, learning and accountability initiatives are timely and appropriate to the response.
· Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities.
If you have demonstratable humanitarian experience of Ukraine, with the competence to prepare timely/accurate reports and deliver credible presentations to diverse audiences, then you will be perfect to join an incredible team and organisation.

They are looking for a new Assistant Coach, to work alongside the Centre Manager, as part of the team at Citizen Church to deliver the Spear Programme, equipping and empowering unemployed 16–24 year olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.
The important stuff
Salary: £21,500 p.a. pro rata for part-time role (£10,750)
Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Tuesday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
- The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
- Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
- Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

Fauna & Flora is seeking an experienced professional to support it’s fundraising from statutory (government and multilateral) donors.
You will support colleagues and partners to develop high-quality proposal packages and reports for priority donors and ensure their timely submission. You will work across the statutory funding portfolio, critiquing proposals, providing editing and formatting support, and ensuring that all documents produced for donors meet their criteria, as well as follow Fauna & Flora’s approval and submission procedures. You will lead on researching in-country funding opportunities from statutory sources, and will produce and maintain up-to-date briefs on priority donor strategies.
You will have excellent data management skills, and monitor Fauna & Flora’s activities in statutory fundraising and fund management, to support the statutory funding team’s operations as well as internal decision-making and strategy development.
Excellent relationship-management and communications skills are essential to the role, to develop positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional teams, non-governmental partners, and government agencies. You will be as tenacious as you are persuasive, and your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to extract information to meet timelines. About the role
This role provides the exciting opportunity to join Coram Family and Childcare in leading the Learning Partner programme within Childcare Works, supporting delivery of the expansion of funded childcare. Background
Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.
Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a Manchester Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to children facing disadvantage communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base, but who is also able to travel frequently around the Greater Manchester area to visit schools.The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year. The weekly hours for this role (currently 12-14 p/week) are likely to increase in future.
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed

Breaking Barriers is a specialist refugee employment charity. Refugees flee their homes in fear, with more hardship on their arrival in the UK: a new country, language and stigma. With a different work culture to navigate, refugees are four times more likely to be unemployed and are often left to face these barriers alone. Breaking Barriers' vision is for every refugee to access meaningful employment and build a new life. They do this through one-to-one advice and guidance, education, and training, and innovative partnerships.
Breaking Barriers is embarking on an exciting journey to increase the scale and impact of their employment services through the integration of a refugee support programme into their service. This includes the transfer of a team of staff, their programme operations and beginning of the process of operational integration. As a result, Breaking Barriers will provide an enhanced, joined-up service to clients across the UK and support more refugees.
Reporting into the Director of Services, the Programmes Integration Lead will provide management and oversight to the transferred teams, while developing and managing integration projects and plans. The role will be part of the Services Senior Management Team, acting as a focal point between the transferred teams and the wider services team and other key internal stakeholders, and ensure integration is a success.
Key responsibilities
- People and team management: Provide day-to-day management, support and direction to transferred staff to ensure staff have the necessary resources and support to deliver on objectives and provide a quality service.
- Programme and service integration: Plan, coordinate and lead work to integrate the acquired programme with the existing service model, developing and implementing an integration plan that feeds into the broader Services strategy.
- Operational oversight and reporting: Oversee delivery of transferred programmes within the new operational context to ensure continuity of support for clients and provide visibility of overall programme performance to Director of Services and SLT.
- Safeguarding: Review safeguarding practices and policies, ensure best practices are embedded, and be part of the safeguarding team, acting as the point of escalation.
The Programmes Integration Lead will have demonstrable track record and transferrable experience in managing or overseeing service or programme delivery, ideally in the employability or refugee sector. The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong skills in planning, coordinating, and managing complex projects with a range of stakeholders, ensuring the achievement of key milestones. You will be an experienced leader and manager with proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams during periods of transition or change, and able to demonstrate strategic thinking and an innovative outlook. You will have strong analytical and reporting skills and be able to solve problems by anticipating challenges and developing practical solutions. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, inspire confidence, and work with stakeholders at all levels, and communicate complex ideas in a clear and compelling way.
The ideal candidate may have experience of managing the integration of new teams, systems or services, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to service delivery. You may also have experience of working with marginalised populations, such as refugee communities. Experience of developing and improving CRM systems and processes would be an advantage, as would an understanding of best practice in adult safeguarding and knowledge and understanding of best practice in working with volunteers.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.
Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]
- Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
- Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
- Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
- Handling safeguarding
- Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce
- Tracking trainee progress on the dashboards
- Liaising with volunteers for key programme engagement events such as mock interviews and external panels. Leading on briefings and communications with these volunteers
Delivery of Spear Career [20%]
- Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees
Training the Graduate Coach [10%]
- Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback
Trainee recruitment [10%]
- Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics
Continuous professional development
- Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training
Active participation in and support for church team and mission
- As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. As part of this you may be asked to speak at church/events and contribute to prayer meetings as per Resurgo’s Christian ethos and the mission of the church

JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the management of the CEO Outlook mailbox, dealing with incoming emails, categorising and filing these

meetings. Ensure that time is prioritised effectively and appropriately with reasonable timings and rest periods.
• Work closely with the CEO to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
• Ensure that papers and briefings are given to the CEO for meetings and that any instructions/directions are obtained prior to the meeting.
• Provide timely and relevant information to support decision making and planning, dealing with people at the most senior level both internally and externally and appropriately representing Railway Children at all times.
• Collate, prepare and disseminate information and data as required by the CEO (for internal and external correspondence,

• Support the Group Director of People & Culture in the administration of HR matters in line with GDPR guidance, including recruitment, trustee engagements, DBS checks and employee communications.
• Coordinate Performance Management Review meetings and paperwork on behalf of the leadership team.
• Assist with the administration of procurement processes as required.
• Collate, prepare and disseminate information and data as required by the leadership team. Accurately review, proofread and assist with materials ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Group Board & Governance
• Work closely with the leadership team to ensure that there is appropriate co-ordination of Board, sub-committee and leadership team meetings and an effective flow of information.
• Plan and coordinate Group Board and sub-committee meetings including scheduling dates, organising agendas,
minuting meetings and circulating papers.
• Support the Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance with core policy documents, liaising with the leadership team to
review dates and ensure updated policies are scheduled for approval at Group Board and sub-committee meetings.
• Manage production and circulation of Board papers. Liaise with the leadership team to ensure reports are received to
deadlines, providing editorial inputs to ensure reports are of the highest quality before review by the Chief Executive.
• Proof-read and distribute Board minutes, ensuring timely follow up on any actions.
• Assist the Group Director of People and Culture in the recruitment and rotation processes for Group Board members.
• Liaise with our CEO, Trustees and legal partners to undertake the administration of our governance responsibilities.
General duties
• Uphold and work within Railway Children’s policies and procedures.
• Conduct yourself in accordance with the rules of the Child and Adult Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct in your personal and professional life – which includes reporting suspicions of child abuse or any other breach of these policies.
• Actively promote and embody Railway Children’s core values across the organisation.
