Duties

1. To manage and further develop East Kent Mind services across Thanet and Canterbury Districts and Faversham, Ash and Sandwich areas.

2. To manage the East Kent Mind staff, conducting and documenting 121s every 6-8 weeks and organising monthly team meetings.

3. To support the success of the East Kent Mind Live Well Kent and Medway contract and other contracts including supporting service development, overseeing client work and data collection, monitoring targets, writing quarterly reports and attending monitoring meetings.

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. Job Purpose

· To deliver an exciting, new programme implementing a whole school approach (WSA) to food nurseries, primaries, secondaries and SEN schools in Southwark.

Key Tasks include:

• Support Project Coordinator to group schools and nurseries using a RAG rating, based on level of support required to achieve a WSA to food

· Recruit schools to take part in the programme

· Build relationships with teachers, teaching assistants, cooks and senior leaders in schools to improve the food they offer their students

· Support schools to complete school food action plans and polices

• Support with the development of resources and training packages for schools

Young Marketeers

This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years.  The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives.  Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall.  Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!

Key Tasks include:

· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers

· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

Role Overview

You will be integral to achieving our strategic priorities of generating income through repeat support, and providing exceptional supporter journeys for our community, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

Providing excellent customer care, engaging and involving and inspiring all supporters of Crohn’s and Colitis UK through building excellent relationships via a variety of communication channels. We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home although you will need to be in the office for two days a week minimum. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to coordinate an 18-month project exploring how we can operationalise a new in-work poverty benchmark for employers in London. This benchmark, developed by the Social Market Foundation, has the potential to improve the lives of low paid workers, building on the success of the Living Wage campaigns

The in-work poverty benchmark project is a new and exciting pilot project at the Living Wage Foundation. We want this person to build a case for employers going further than our existing accreditations and taking a more holistic approach to tackling in work poverty. This role would help us develop the pilot through employer case studies and extensive stakeholder engagement with a view to launching a new vehicle to recognise employers who adopt the in-work poverty benchmark.

Three key parts of the role would be working with:

- Our Membership team and our Operations and Insights team: to scope out and enhance their capacity to support employers to implement the benchmark through e.g. workshops, provision of guidance and /or new ways of working with employers.

- The cross organisational Making London a Living Wage City (MLLWC) team to build upon the successes and networks of this project and align where helpful to encourage London employers to go further

- London based community organisers to ensure that the experiences and stories of low paid workers are a primary driver of the case for change and how we develop this work.

The ideal candidate would be a proactive and experienced project manager with experience of building and implementing new products, projects or services. They should have excellent communication skills and a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and building a network.

The Living Wage Foundation was launched in 2011 by Citizens UK to tackle in-work poverty and ensure that workers earn enough to live on and participate in family and community life. Citizens UK is the home of community organising with diverse civil society alliances set up to develop leaders to work on the issues that matter to them, such as the Living Wage. Other projects include Parent Action and Sponsor Refugees to add depth to the impact of Citizens UK’s work.

The Living Wage is a movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. The real Living Wage is an independently-calculated hourly rate based on the cost of living and announced each October ahead of Living Wage Week, our annual celebration of a growing network of over 15,000 Living Wage Employers.

Contribute to the achievement of the LWF and CUK’s strategic aims

· Work with the Living Wage Foundation team to embed this project into the wider work and strategy of the Foundation, and to identify and share learning from across our projects on how to mobilise employer action to tackle poverty.  

Develop and manage external relationships

· Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan to support and promote the project.

· Manage strong relationships with the project partners and funders to involve and update them on the project as required.

· Progress our existing partnerships whilst proactively securing new partnerships with organisations that can help promote and build demand for the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Develop a wide-ranging network of stakeholders with an interest in this project, finding ways to involve them in its development.

· Coordinate and manage a project working group of senior Living Wage Employers, in work poverty experts and employee stakeholders.

Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively

· Set up, manage and evaluate a set of action pilots with employers, low paid employees and relevant experts to develop and test the in-work poverty benchmark and the standards within it.

· Design and develop the recognition mechanism and support programme for employers who sign up to the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Provide regular progress reports and deliver agreed project milestones including events, reports and other agreed outputs.

· Oversee the project being integrated into our CRM system and developing robust project management systems.

Learning, expertise, wellbeing and inclusion

· Conduct desk research, stakeholder interviews and organise events as required to inform the project. Manage research partners to conduct additional research as required.

· Monitor, review, evaluate and write up pilot progress with each employer using qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.

· Working with others to identity and share learning on how to mobilise employer action to tackle poverty, considering this in the development of the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Develop and host employer facing events to gain insight and test appetite to support the development of this work.

· Design and facilitate employer workshops and employee focus groups to identify best practice and shared learning.

· Produce a final report and recommendations for how the work might be taken forward at the conclusion of the project, presenting this to relevant stakeholders.

Communications

· Oversee the collation and dissemination of research and evidence to build the case for the in-work poverty benchmark. Work with the Living Wage Foundation Communications and Research team to enable this.

· Develop the support we offer Living Wage Employers that are interested in implementing the in-work poverty benchmark and lead the production and design of research reports, toolkits, best practice guides and other resources.

· Promote the Living Wage Foundation to build our reputation as a leader in good work practices for low paid workers, including launching research and reports and celebrating progress made.

· Represent the Living Wage Foundation at meetings, events and conference to build awareness and support for our work. 

Develop and manage internal relationships:

· Build and manage strong relationships across the LWF and wider Citizens UK teams for effective collaboration and to support development of this work.

· Work closely with community organisers in London to ensure the voices of low paid workers are a leading influence on this project.

· Contribute to the LWF and Citizens UK Senior Management meetings and cross organisational working groups.

Generate income and resources

· Oversee the development and implementation of an employer fee structure for the in-work poverty benchmark vehicle.

As a charity, we advocate for the key role of statistics and data in society and work to ensure that policy formulation and decision-making are informed by evidence for the public good. Members work with RSS staff to support areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy.

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention.

• Manage the global calendar of donor deliverables for the Development team

About the Investment Team

The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.

The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.

The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.

Job description – Investment Director

The Investment Director (ID) is a key member of the Investment Team, playing a leading role in identifying, assessing, and supporting portfolio partner charities and other non-profit organisations to deepen their impact and scale their outcomes. This role works closely with other Investment Directors and Investment Managers to deliver external facing support to portfolio partners as well as internal projects to support the development of the investment model and portfolio strategy.

Investment Directors use strategic thinking, analytical rigour, and senior relationship skills to support a portfolio of amazing organisations that, together, will help shift the life chances and outcomes of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK.

Key responsibilities

Finding high potential charities and non-profit partners for our portfolio

• Identifying potential charitable organisations for investment.
• Leading in-depth due diligence process to assess and build partnership foundations with potential partners – covering leadership and governance, and their impact, scale, and partnership potential.
• Modelling from first contact of origination, our approach to engaged and trust-based investment management support.
• Developing and championing high quality investment propositions to our Investment Committee.

Managing partnerships with portfolio partners

• Managing relationships with partner Chairs and CEOs 
• Agreeing Service Funding Agreements, including appropriate annual investment milestones to allow for a clear assessment of re-investment potential at end of phase 
• Regularly monitoring and assessing partner progress / risks against milestones and making recommendations for progression or exit
• Escalating key risks on performance, leadership and safeguarding

• Identifying engagement opportunities for our donors and supporters with charity partners that are aligned with the charity’s activities and do not distract or undermine their core work
• Collaborating with Impetus Philanthropy team to develop new funding streams (additional to direct Impetus grant funding) that support our partners’ ability to deliver impact at scale
• Effectively leveraging the support of investment managers to advance the objectives developed for each charity partner that is managed by an Investment Director. 

Support to Impetus

• Developing expertise about “what works” in the sector through cultivation and use of expert input and engagement as well as investigation into key research and evaluative literature
• Working closely with team colleagues to use learnings from our work and domain expertise to inform our strategy, our model and delivery over time
• Leading on and contributing to internal topics, such as team strategy development, digital transformation, or equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Contribute towards Impetus’ public affairs and philanthropy objectives through input into case studies, research and policy campaigns, donor reports and fundraising events
• Sharing the learning from our work across the team, across the organisation and externally working within Impetus strategy, policies and procedures
• Engaging in Impetus pro bono, communications, and advocacy events, and engage charity partners appropriately in these events
• Where appropriate, line-managing and supporting Investment Managers on the team to grow and develop, and achieve their project, role and team objectives.

• Interest in partnering closely with charities that are doing what it takes to get better

Desirable

• Experience in the non-profit (charity or social enterprise) sector, through work, as a pro-bono volunteer or Trustee capacity 
• Experience in consulting, investment management, senior charity management, or other in-depth grant making and advisory work
• Knowledge and expertise in UK education or youth employability sectors
• Board experience in private, public or third sector
• Understanding of or experience with commissioning impact evaluations.
