OVERVIEW AND JOB PURPOSE

Pump Aid is a dynamic, award winning and growing organisation, which is promoting a radically different approach to aid and development in the WASH sector by establishing Malawi’s first social impact business (Beyond Water) focused on delivering reliable access to clean water for rural communities. We challenge conventional development programmes by taking a business-based approach that ensures long term sustainability and impact for the communities we work with. Clean water results in better health, increases educational attainment and reduces inequality for women and girls across Malawi.

To support our mission we are recruiting a Communications and Fundraising Officer to help deliver on our ambitious growth plans to reach 2 million people by 2030. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can plan and create compelling communications to increase awareness of our work and engage new and existing supporters. Furthermore, you will lead on key areas of our fundraising strategy including annual fundraising campaigns, individual giving and small trusts and foundations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• You will lead on defined elements of Pump Aid’s fundraising strategy: scoping, applications, reporting and management (to largely small to medium sized trusts and foundations, community funders and individuals.)
• You will develop and manage a schedule of compelling communications across a number of channels including social media, web and print that will grow engagement with Beyond Water’s mission.
• You will support the Head of Development to pitch to social impact and philanthropic investors by finding creative ways to differentiate ourselves from traditional approaches to international development.
• You will take responsibility for managing and administrating fundraising income, using Salesforce CRM to keep up to date records of donations, keeping donors updated through regular reports and leveraging annual campaigns including the Big Give Christmas Campaign to maximise individual giving donations.
• Maximise the value and duration of donor support through excellent stewardship and relationship management.
• While office hours are notionally 9:00am to 5:30pm, the demands of a business focussed on Africa, with donors in the UK, USA, Europe and Asia mean a degree of flexibility is required.

Candidate Profile

1. Strong experience in planning and executing communications plans across a variety of mediums (social media, website, blog posts, impact reports) to grow awareness and engagement with the work of our social enterprise

2. Demonstrable success in fundraising within the charity sector; scoping, prospecting, proposal writing and reporting.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present to a variety of audiences

4. Experienced in home working and able to self-motivate and develop and execute personal work and action plans with limited face to face supervision

5. Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage conflicting outcomes and objectives and ensure the right job is completed at the right time

6. Works well in a small, dynamic team

7. High level of computer literacy – Canva, Microsoft Office, Salesforce or similar CRM software

8. Well organised and can prioritise work to meet deadlines

9. Experience working in international development is preferable.

About the programme

We are delighted that you are interested in joining the Social Impact Fast Track. In the first year of your programme you will join the team as an Analyst and, subject to successful completion of year one, in year two you will progress to Senior Analyst. During your two-year programme you will work within at least two of our organisational practices. You will work directly with our partners, understanding their needs and supporting them to maximise their impact. During the programme you will also lead pro-bono projects for our corporate social responsibility partners.

In addition to gaining experience with our partners and within our teams, you will undertake a structured learning and development programme which includes mentoring from one of our Group Directors, and regular learning and development sessions including a dedicated professional development budget. Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board. You will also have the opportunity to have a two-week placement in one of our partner organisations, to help you develop your professional skill set. At the end of the programme we expect a number of participants to apply for and progress into our Officer and Manager roles, or look to secure positions with our partners or other like minded social purpose organisations.

Role Summary

ProVeg International is a global organisation made up of 12 national non-profit teams, each of which responsible for local fundraising, supported by an international fundraising team focused on major opportunities, international, and core funding.

The role of the Grant Writing Manager is to provide excellent and compelling fundraising content of all kinds, whether internal cases for support, proposals, applications or reports in order to support the goal of at least doubling our global income from around 15 to 30 million dollars in the next three years.

You will be an expert in grant writing, and have a keen eye for detail and basic financial acumen related to project funding bids. You will manage a pipeline of global trusts and foundation applications, while providing support to proposals of other kinds driven by the wider fundraising team. Ideally you would be experienced in drafting compelling narratives for complex charitable causes, ideally in climate, environment or food systems transformation.

Responsibilities

International income generation

• Together with the International Fundraising Manager and Philanthropy Director, contribute to and implement a 3-year international grants strategy, and develop annual and quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs).

• Research and prepare proposals for potential major donors, trusts and foundations, and where relevant, corporate opportunities, and coordinate international and joint bids.

• Develop a pipeline of existing and potential trusts and foundations.

• Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of grants income.

• Identify suitable projects within the organisation’s plan in order to build cases for support and satisfy donor wish lists.

• Develop pitch packages and stories for different audiences, in particular donors motivated by reasons other than animal protection.

Country-specific and infrastructure support 

• Contribute to the international fundraising calls, support ProVeg country directors and national fundraising teams with grant applications.

• Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of trust and foundation income. 

• Help build the global grant-related infrastructure, including but not limited to:

  • Guidelines/policies

  • Compliance

  • Strengthening CRM use and internal coordination

  • SOPs

  • Project impact evaluation with the Monitoring Evaluation & Learning team

  • Finance tracking with the Finance Manager

• Any other administrative or comparable support that may be required

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience of grant writing at a not-for-profit, preferably an international NGO.

• A track record of identifying and securing significant, and/or multi-year, five-figure+ funds from trusts, foundations and/or corporates, ideally also having obtained unrestricted (‘core’/operational) funding.

• Expertise in the development of grant application strategies and proposals (including strategic prioritisation of projects and opportunities).

• Experience with different grant-making bodies and requirements.

• Ability to turn numbers, outcomes and goals into a compelling story.

• Evidence of successful proposal writing, from start to finish, as well as experience with writing concise reports.

• Excellent project-management and organisational skills, including documentation of work, with the ability to lead and work collaboratively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including confident demeanour and experience in engaging with a diverse range of people.

Overview:

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.

Line Manager: Director of Communications and Engagement

Line Management Responsibilities: No line management. The post holder will have responsibility for maintaining management of freelancers, agencies and partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

Communications campaign development and management:

• Develop and project manage a programme of integrated communication campaigns that grab attention and encourage action across rewilding practice, policy and fundraising.
• Work closely with the Communications and Engagement team to develop aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across owned, earned and paid channels.

Cross-functional collaboration:

• Work closely with the Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams to integrate campaign efforts and identify the relevant campaign issues, priorities and opportunities for influencing policy, fundraising and Network membership growth.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.

The salary is £38,000 - £43,000 per annum depending upon experience.

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced Corporate Partnership Manager with a strong track record of growing and managing high value partnerships that exceed income targets and help to drive societal change. The successful applicant will manage and develop the delivery of Marie Curie's three-year corporate partnership with Morrisons,.

You will be responsible for:

- Providing exceptional account management for colleagues fundraising in Morrisons stores and sites, ensuring the partnership achieves agreed income targets, KPIs and objectives at an acceptable cost to income ratio.

- Managing, developing and leading on specific project areas within the high-value corporate partnership and providing appropriate and effective support to the wider account ensuring that partnership objectives are maximised.

- Working closely with the UK-wide network of Morrisons Daily Charity Ambassadors and Morrisons Community Champions to drive employee engagement income generation through a diverse calendar of fundraising activities and events including employee fundraising, events, cause related marketing, payroll giving.

- Achieving and exceeding financial targets and reporting on all financial arrangements with Morrisons ensuring that all income and expenditure is accounted for and appropriately included in the budget.

- Working closely with other Marie Curie teams to achieve financial and non-financial objectives for teams and departments across Marie Curie, including the promotion of key campaigns and to share information and resources.

Key Criteria:

- Proven track record in partnership management within a corporate-charity partnership setting.

- Success in pitching and retaining existing partners - from proposal development to employee vote strategies.

- Experience of meeting and exceeding income targets.

- Experience of identifying, prospecting, and securing income opportunities with corporate partners.

- Strong knowledge of corporate charity landscape, key sector and partnership trends, commercial insight, and awareness.

- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with a wide range of audiences at all levels.

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration for its own estate. For this reason CCT has been contracted to deliver a programme of work for Historic Chapels Trust (HCT). HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*.  Key to the project is management of the assets, funded by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) through their Cultural Assets Fund (CAF).

As a member of CCT’s national Conservation team you will be the main point of contact for all chapel maintenance related issues, liaising closely with contractors, local groups and volunteers. Alongside the Conservation Projects Manager for Chapels you will deliver the maintenance programme, including regulatory and legal compliance, as well as deal with utilities and insurance of chapels. 10 of the chapels are in our North region, 6 in our West region and 4 are in our South East region.

You will have previous experience in the field of historic buildings maintenance, repair or property management. You will be an effective communicator, be able to plan and deliver your own workload and also work as part of a team. As you’ll be working at chapels throughout England it is essential you have a full driving licence.

As a Training and Engagement Coordinator to the Scotland Team, you will provide effective and efficient co-ordination of resources and support, primarily related to our accredited courses, Idaa and DACA, as well as our open course and bespoke training, when capability allows. You will work alongside the Training Lead and Senior Training and Engagement Coordinator and occasionally help support with our Safer, Sooner and Authentic Voice operational work.

About Lepra

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. We have just finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.

Job Context

Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). With the finalisation of the new strategy, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our impact and efficiency, we are now seeking a consultant to provide specialised research support and technical advice.

Job Purpose

The primary objectives of this role are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.

Working Relationships

• Reports to Lepra UK’s Director of Programmes and Advocacy
• Day-to-day management liaison with the Director of Programmes and Advocacy and team members of Lepra’ sister organisation in India, LEPRA Society
• Close working links and collaboration with UK Fundraising, Communications and Finance teams
• International travel as needed for programmes oversight and support, and external representation.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.
• Identify and address any gaps or challenges in the current strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth transition.
• Support Programmes in the design of new projects / programmes by ensuring proposals submitted are technically sound and capitalize upon learning. Lead on ethical approval applications.
• Support Programmes in identifying, maintaining and growing academic / research -related partnerships, according to Lepra’s strategic interests and capacities 
• Serve as a focal point for external research contacts that have an interest in people affected by leprosy and LF.

Operational Plan Management

• Develop a comprehensive operational plan for the rollout of the strategy.
• Establish the initial GRITS processes including the Go no Go; steering group established and functioning.

Pathway to Sustainability

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, research institutions, and community leaders.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress and impact of the strategy.

Safeguarding

• Support the implementation of newly developed processes in relation to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation & Abuse (PSEA) and Safeguarding (SG).

Technical advisory

• Guide and advise on the implementation of leprosy and LF control tools and approaches, specific healthcare models and/or health solutions in partner countries, when appropriate and according to Lepra and donor standards.
• Provide strategic and technical advice on the development and roll-out of country programmes as well as the overall leprosy / LF programme in Lepra.

Monitoring, evaluation and impact

• Advise the programmes team on the development of appropriate results frameworks, objectives, outputs, indicators and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support the analysis of Lepra datasets.  Advise the HPMEL on analysis of Lepra datasets.  Provide technical inputs to Lepra’s reports, according to Lepra’s needs.
