The purpose of your role

We’re looking for a Selection Officer to join our award-winning team to deliver our selection processes to enable us to achieve our ambitious mission. You will be responsible for ensuring all candidates are assessed consistently and fairly throughout each stage (application form, online immersive assessment and digital assessment centre) so that we can ensure we recruit talented and diverse individuals committed to the Police Now mission for each of our core programmes.

This is a fast-paced and varied role that will involve working closely with applicants throughout the candidate journey, alongside various internal and external stakeholders, to ensure we meet our targets. Your responsibilities will include delivering selection activity including assessment centres, and quality assuring our selection outcomes. You will be dedicated to delivering an excellent candidate experience at every stage of the selection journey to ensure all candidates have a positive experience with Police Now regardless of the outcome.

Alongside operational delivery, you will work closely with the Recruitment Delivery Manager and Head of Recruitment on future evolutions to our selection processes to ensure we remain market-leading in our approach. This includes designing content, piloting new activities and using data and evaluation to inform future developments and improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within our Recruitment Delivery sub-team of eight, contributing to a high-performance culture and ensuring a high-quality candidate experience.
• Take a lead role in screening and assessing applicants against the necessary skills and attributes to join a Police Now programme. This includes all stages of the selection process – application form, online immersive assessment and digital assessment centre. Act as a contact point for candidate queries to support them through their application journey and probe for further information related to their eligibility when required.
• Oversee the running of assessment centres in the role of the assessment centre facilitator and/or manager to ensure all candidates receive a positive candidate experience and work with assessors to ensure consistent and fair assessment assessed across all exercises. Ensure timetables are created through our digital platform so all participants and assessors have the information required for their involvement in the assessment centres.
• Act as a main point of contact for assessors and actors, dealing with queries and overseeing scheduling and invoicing. You will also provide training and onboarding for new assessors when required.
• Oversee progress towards specific candidate pipeline targets, flagging areas of concern with a focus on under-represented groups within policing, and implement actions as required to exceed target expectations. Develop and deliver pipeline interventions such as unsubmitted application calls, pre-assessment centre phone calls, group coaching sessions and other tailored communications, so that candidates are fully prepared for each stage of the selection process.
• Support and lead on projects related to process improvement, content design and candidate journey and assessment evolution. This will involve working on developments to our assessment activities and materials when required, gaining stakeholder input into selection criteria and testing new methodology to ensure rigour. Conduct ongoing analysis of parts of the selection process, as well as end of campaign analysis, communicating outputs to relevant stakeholders.

Key requirements

• Motivation and passion for the Police Now mission, values, and working within the policing sector.
• Proven selection and assessment experience, preferably in a high-volume graduate environment or experience working in police recruitment services.
• Experience proactively managing high-volume candidate pipelines in a tailored and strategic way, using insights to improve candidate outcomes and progress to targets.
• Have diversity and inclusion at the heart of all you do, contributing to the ideas and delivery of our strategy to hire outstanding and diverse individuals.
• High level of planning and organising ability, with confidence managing multiple activities and deadlines, strong project management skills and good judgement and decision making to consider conflicting priorities. Ability to work at speed whilst ensuring attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently persuade, communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and target audiences.
• A strong team player, able to build relationships with a large team to understand priorities and flex working style appropriately; whilst also having the ability to work well independently, recognising when to act with autonomy and when to escalate.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and ability to develop knowledge and proficiency of Police Now’s applicant tracking system, candidate communication platform and digital assessment centre platform.
• There will be a requirement for set days to be worked within the office (approximately 2-3 days per week), or stated venues, to support with the running and delivery of events, as well as infrequent travel nationwide. Assessment centres are delivered digitally but may require flex to working hours including earlier starts, later finishes and occasionally Saturdays (time off in lieu provided).

The Team

The Finance Assistant will work within the finance team to provide operational support for the activities of REDRESS, including management of project related finance, and the core finances of the charity.

Position Profile

Based in London, the Finance Assistant will work primarily on maintaining the financial records of projects. You will work with the finance team, project staff and international partners on ensuring the finances of the project meet with Redress and donor financial requirements. You will also support the general financial administration of REDRESS.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

· Payments: Respond to payment requests using national and international bank transfers as appropriate. 

· Financial Reports: Assist in the preparation of interim and final multi-currency financial reports to funders. 

· Partner Organisations Support: Support and monitor international partner organisations by reviewing their reporting and checking transactions. 

· Project Funding: Provide regular insight into project fund balances. 

· Cashflow: Maintain cashflow management controls in relation to salaries and allocations. 

· Bookkeeping: Perform day-to-day book-keeping using QuickBooks Online, including transaction processing and reconciliation of accounts. 

· Expenses: Process expenses claims and expenditure requests.

· Statutory Accounts: Assist the Head of Finance in preparing the statutory accounts.   

· Invoices: Raise and process invoices.

· Suppliers: Liaise with suppliers in relation to financial matters.

· Accounting: Provide in-depth support in management of the Netherlands accounts.

· Teamwork/Collaboration. To work collaboratively with REDRESS team members and external stakeholders always exercising professional integrity.   

The position is also expected to carry out such further duties as may reasonably be required from time to time by REDRESS.

Person Specification

This is an entry level position, and so we will consider candidates at the beginning of their career, with some relevant experience.

Essential Competencies

The successful candidate will need to have the following essential competencies:

· A university degree relevant to the role or qualification in finance or at least two years’ relevant experience.

· Relevant experience through internships, volunteer roles, work experience, educational work placements, or other practical experience.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and accounting database programmes. 

· Fluency in written and oral English. 

Desirable Competencies

A strong candidate will also have other desirable competencies:

· At least two years' relevant work experience. 

· A qualification in accounting or finance. 

· Skills in a language other than English, in particular French, Arabic or Spanish.

Terms

Reporting. The position is part of the Finance team and will report to the Head of Finance.

Hours. This is a full-time position at 35 hours a week. Evening and weekend work may be required from time to time.

Location. The position is based at the REDRESS office in London.

Flexible Working. REDRESS is an “in-person” organisation and we value team work, but we have a flexible working policy which allows for working from home. This role is currently required to be in the office at least three days a week.

Salary. REDRESS has fixed salary scales, with annual cost of living increases, and the possibility of step increases with strong performance. This is an entry level assistant position, and the salary is £31,681 which is A1 on our salary structure.

Duration. The contract is for a fixed-term of 12 months, but is expected to be extended, subject to funding.

Start date. The position would start in April 2025.

Probation. There is a six-month probationary period. 

Pension. REDRESS offers a pension contribution of 10% of salary.

Holiday.  There are 25 days of holiday per year, in addition to UK public holidays. The office is also closed between Christmas and New Year.

Status. The candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK. Unfortunately, we cannot sponsor a UK immigration process for this role.

Interview process. We expect to do two rounds of interviews. We may ask candidates to complete a brief written test as part of the process but will provide information on that nearer the time.

· First round Interviews will take place on a rolling basis and will be on-line.

· Final round interview will take place on 12 March 2025 and will be in-person at our office in London.

About the role:

The British Museum is seeking a Finance Assistant: Income to to work as part of the Income function of the Finance Department. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that cash is accurately counted and banked, financial data is accurate and that the service provided to departments is of a high standard.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Cash handling:
  • Participating in monthly cash donations collections throughout the Museum, including test counts
  • Weekly count of retail takings
  • Ordering of change, when required by retail
  • Reconciling change float in safe reserve
  • Preparation and processing of BACS and Cash advances for employees and per diem orders, including processing the returns whilst ensuring compliance with Museum group policy
  • Handling cash returns from employees and organising return of foreign currency

About you:

• Education: 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
• Specific technical/professional skills & experience: Knowledge of straightforward accounting principles and procedures; ability to work swiftly and accurately with figures, maintaining consistency and accuracy in processing a high volume of transactions; ability to identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies; IT literate with good input and spreadsheet skills. Experience of operating an accounting package.
• Specific interpersonal skills: Good written and verbal communication skills in order to build and maintain good working relationships within the Museum and also with our suppliers; proactive and flexible approach to work and the ability to function as part of a small team. This involves being ready, willing and able to take on other work in the department during times of heavy workload or employee absence; ability to work under pressure; excellent attention to detail; enthusiastic.

Chance to Shine is a national children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. We keep them physically active, teach them vital skills like teamwork, communication and leadership. And above all, they have fun.

Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with over seven million boys and girls playing and learning through cricket. Chance to Shine Street supports young people in under-served communities to access and benefit from cricket in a free, inclusive, fun and nurturing environment.

3. Key Responsibilities

The Communications Assistant’s responsibilities include:

Digital Marketing

 

• Help to manage the departmental content and marketing calendar

• Create, schedule, and post engaging content across all Chance to Shine social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

• Lead on our social media community engagement – responding to messages/replies, moderating where necessary and pinpointing relevant conversations

• Draft and design newsletters and email campaigns to engage key audiences such as supporters, teachers and coaches

 

Website and Digital Operations

· Produce content for the CTS website

· Support with content and development of CTS Portal

 

Other Responsibilities

· Support with copywriting for a variety of publications such as newsletters, event programmes and impact reports

· Lead on the maintenance of the digital photo archive

· Assist with the logistical planning and execution of Chance to Shine events, ensuring all materials and resources are prepared.

· Work with the Communications team on supporting adhoc projects and campaigns

6. Experience & qualifications

Essential:

• Basic photography and video editing skills
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms and audiences
• Genuine interest in social media trends, digital marketing, and the mission of the organisation

Desirable:

• Experience of content creation, content calendars and social media management tools
• Experience in using graphic design tools
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp) and basic email campaign creation

About This Role 

Over the last seven years we have grown into a recognised leader in the fight for menstrual equity. We are searching for a new Fundraising Officer at Bloody Good Period to help us deliver an expanded programme of fundraising in 2025 and beyond. The Fundraising Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering public fundraising, as well as supporting the Fundraising Manager on corporate and major donor fundraising, maximising opportunities to grow BGP’s income.

About the team

As part of our Communications, Policies and Campaigns directorate we have two campaigns teams, Digital Campaigns and Strategy and Organising. This role sits in the Digital Campaigns team.

We lead on mass mobilisation of our supporters, creating digital content to support our campaigns and analysing the performance of that content to improve our communications. We campaign both nationally and locally – supporting community organisers with their digital presence and communications.
