The role
The role holder will lead on content creation and production across Business Disability Forum. The role holder will take a strategic approach and collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that BDF creates cutting edge content that engages, informs and educates our Members and Partners
The requirement
- Experience of setting content strategy and road mapping.
- Experience of consulting stakeholders and using insights to create written content to meet their needs
- Experience of delivering small high-quality projects on time and within budget.

- Experience of securing income, in particular multiyear funding to ensure full cost recovery across all areas and a sustainable approach to delivery
- Experience of generating diversified income through new markets and developing and establishing new models
- Experience of acquisitions and mergers to support business growth
- A proven track record of turning stakeholder relationships into productive and impactful partnerships, working collaboratively to deliver a bigger impact in a funded and sustainable way
- Experience of managing budgets in the region of £1m with a full understanding of the budget planning and management process
- An ability to bring together complex business plans, profit and loss forecasts and financial profiles
- Development of cashflow forecasting, business plans and budget preparation

A Summary of What We’re Looking For:

As a Chapter Member at the National Deaf Children's Society, you'll be in a Chapter of like-minded and skilled specialists, experts, and emerging experts. - Quarterly due diligence checks with our agencies, along with monitoring of job adverts and contracts to ensure compliance.

Our mission is to supports adults, young people and children living with long-term neurological conditions and/or neuro diversities to access specialist therapies, support, and information in a safe, supportive environment to help them improve their physical and mental well-being.
The Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre, located in mid-Cornwall, is a Cornish charity providing a place of support, therapy, information, and community for people living with a long-term neurological condition and/or those who are neurodiverse. We give financial assistance to our beneficiaries in the form of subsidised specialist therapies. Our purpose built, fully accessible Centre, opened in 2009 and offers physiotherapy; exercise classes; Ayres’ Sensory Integration (ASI) therapy (a discipline of Occupational Therapy), and oxygen therapy. The Primrose Hydrotherapy Pool facility, which was built in the grounds, opened in 2019, providing both individual and group hydrotherapy sessions.
Living with a long-term health condition brings many challenges, not just for those diagnosed, but also for family members. Symptoms can affect physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological health. For our clients who have sensory processing difficulties, due to being neurodivergent, everyday situations and relationships can be perplexing and taxing.
Our main aims are to improve the health and well-being of our community; help people manage their symptoms and situations; and support their main care giver, often a family member. Services are delivered by a highly experienced team, with a broad range of skills and experience in delivering specialist therapies.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as the Business Development Officer with a commercial sales focus. This role requires a unique blend of fundraising expertise and commercial acumen to drive our vision forward.

Living in the Detail: With such a huge client base within the Charity sector, offering a variety of services (Merchandise, Design, Storage & Fulfilment), we expect the successful candidate to have the capacity and ambition to immerse themself in the detail, investing an incredible amount of time getting to know individual accounts and clients alike. This role will require management and delegation of clients when the team are on leave.
Sales and Revenue Generation: This role will require integrated working with our Client Services Director and Marketing team to ensure that sales support is directed in the right areas at the right times. Collaboration: This role works very closely with our Client Services Director, who has overall responsibility for all Client Services related activity, and our Love & Care Manager, who will underpin and support all operational and client requirements for the team. Generally, this role requires collaboration across the business in order to guarantee success.
Budget Management: Responsible for creating and monitoring annual, quarterly and monthly sales and GP margin budgets across the Charity sector by individual. Responsible for communicating and agreeing budgets across the team.
Reporting: Develop and update reporting tools that keep the team and management abreast of performance, including presentations within our fortnightly “Scrum” meetings. Prepare and present regular reports and updates to leadership.
Drive change on Industry Trends: Not only offering solutions both internally to Management and to clients in order that these are addressed, but playing a huge role in ensuring they are implemented. This person should be an influential member of the sector community.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to coordinate an 18-month project exploring how we can operationalise a new in-work poverty benchmark for employers in London. This benchmark, developed by the Social Market Foundation, has the potential to improve the lives of low paid workers, building on the success of the Living Wage campaigns
The in-work poverty benchmark project is a new and exciting pilot project at the Living Wage Foundation. We want this person to build a case for employers going further than our existing accreditations and taking a more holistic approach to tackling in work poverty. This role would help us develop the pilot through employer case studies and extensive stakeholder engagement with a view to launching a new vehicle to recognise employers who adopt the in-work poverty benchmark.
Three key parts of the role would be working with:
- Our Membership team and our Operations and Insights team: to scope out and enhance their capacity to support employers to implement the benchmark through e.g. workshops, provision of guidance and /or new ways of working with employers.
- The cross organisational Making London a Living Wage City (MLLWC) team to build upon the successes and networks of this project and align where helpful to encourage London employers to go further
- London based community organisers to ensure that the experiences and stories of low paid workers are a primary driver of the case for change and how we develop this work.

· Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan to support and promote the project.

· Progress our existing partnerships whilst proactively securing new partnerships with organisations that can help promote and build demand for the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Coordinate and manage a project working group of senior Living Wage Employers, in work poverty experts and employee stakeholders.
Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively
· Set up, manage and evaluate a set of action pilots with employers, low paid employees and relevant experts to develop and test the in-work poverty benchmark and the standards within it.
· Design and develop the recognition mechanism and support programme for employers who sign up to the in-work poverty benchmark.
· Provide regular progress reports and deliver agreed project milestones including events, reports and other agreed outputs.
· Oversee the project being integrated into our CRM system and developing robust project management systems.
Learning, expertise, wellbeing and inclusion
· Conduct desk research, stakeholder interviews and organise events as required to inform the project. Manage research partners to conduct additional research as required.
· Monitor, review, evaluate and write up pilot progress with each employer using qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.
· Working with others to identity and share learning on how to mobilise employer action to tackle poverty, considering this in the development of the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Oversee the collation and dissemination of research and evidence to build the case for the in-work poverty benchmark. Work with the Living Wage Foundation Communications and Research team to enable this.
· Develop the support we offer Living Wage Employers that are interested in implementing the in-work poverty benchmark and lead the production and design of research reports, toolkits, best practice guides and other resources.
· Promote the Living Wage Foundation to build our reputation as a leader in good work practices for low paid workers, including launching research and reports and celebrating progress made.
· Represent the Living Wage Foundation at meetings, events and conference to build awareness and support for our work.
Develop and manage internal relationships:
· Build and manage strong relationships across the LWF and wider Citizens UK teams for effective collaboration and to support development of this work.

Your key responsibility will be leading the data migration process, from mapping and cleaning data, to ensuring it aligns with our new CRM structure. Are you a creative and innovative Graphic Designer with a passion to visual storytelling? We’re looking for someone to drive forwards our brand identity through relevant, accessible and engaging design.
Our visual identity is vital for our brand and marketing delivery. It’s the anchoring point for students to engage with us and find out more about our story and the services, opportunities and activities we provide to help them Love Exeter. The Graphic Designer will lead the way for design standards, and play a key role in developing our visual brand to deliver our marketing campaigns and ambitions.
We think this role could be a great fit for someone who is looking to build their experience and portfolio, or an experienced candidate looking to expand their skills and try a new challenge on variety of projects. You will have the flexibility to work from home for part of the week, as well as the opportunity to work with our diverse teams on the beautiful Exeter University campuses.

Exeter Students’ Guild is the University of Exeter’s students’ union, led by students for students.
