Hours: 37.5 hours per week with occasional late shift 12:30 – 20:30 on a rota basis (approximately twice per month)
This is an opportunity to join Refuge as Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.
The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The job involves ensuring that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment and enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety.
This role includes attendance at the office in Warwick district. Travel around Warwickshire for client appointments is essential to role, therefore use of a car essential.
Please note that this post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Community Fundraiser

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about fundraising, marketing and community engagement, supporting the Trustees and Senior Management Team to develop the fundraising strategy. Managing and building existing partnerships, building new income generation strategies, promoting the charities awareness to the local community, corporate and individual supporters.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise Cambridge Cyrenians local profile and social media presence, including regular press releases
- Working with Trustees and Senior Staff to develop and deliver Cambridge Cyrenians’ fundraising strategy
- Identify and secure additional fundraising opportunities
- Engage with local companies to develop corporate support from the business community
- Keep track of fundraised income and expenditure
- Produce quarterly supporter newsletters on Mailchimp and LinkedIn • Lead Community Events Working Group to develop and deliver community events
- Develop and deliver seasonal campaigns and sponsorship challenges to grow Cambridge Cyrenians’ supporter base through one-off and regular donations
- Maintain individual donor records in Cambridge Cyrenians’ CRM (Donorfy), ensuring Gift-Aid claims are submitted and donors are thanked in a timely manner
- Maintain Wordpress website and fundraising platforms (JustGiving, GivenGain)
- Manage social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn • Develop Cambridge Cyrenians’ legacy fundraising stream
- Ensure all fundraising is GDPR compliant and complies with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice
- Be passionate and advocate on behalf of Cambridge Cyrenians’ work
- Network locally to build relationships working flexibly to attend local events

Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is the UK’s leading dementia research charity dedicated to diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by our passionate scientists and supporters, we’re challenging the way people think about dementia, bringing together the people and organisations who can speed up progress, and investing in research to strive for a cure.
We’re looking for someone with strong communication skills who is excited by the opportunity to engage with dementia researchers and raise the profile of our research programmes, funding opportunities and events within the research community. This role sits within the Research Directorate, an ambitious, supportive and friendly team, working closely with the Science Communications team and across the wider organisation, to ensure that we are communicating how we are transforming the lives of people affected by all forms of dementia.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Research engagement strategy
· Develop and implement a comprehensive research communications and engagement strategy to build our relationship and position with the UK dementia research community.
· Lead cross-functional projects to build our reach and engagement, developing communication plans to engage our research partners to increase our reach to research focussed audiences.
· Oversee the project management of the strategy, including setting objectives, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes.
· Identify key opportunities to enhance the visibility and impact of our research through strategic partnerships and digital platforms.
· Track and analyse the effectiveness of communications strategies, using metrics to inform continuous improvement.
· With the Senior Research Manager, identify new opportunities to engage with and support our funded researchers.
Researcher-facing communications
· Manage and deliver the production of high-quality communication and engagement material to our research audiences to engage the wider research community and disseminate information about our funding opportunities, conference and other key programmes such as ECR and research culture pieces.
· Lead on the redevelopment of the researcher-facing website structure, pages and content, to ensure that information about ARUK, funding opportunities, and our strategic programmes are communicated in an engaging way to the dementia research community
· Work with the Senior Science Communications Officer to ensure all researcher-facing materials meet comms best-practice and wider comms plans are developed and supported for launch
· Support the Senior Science Communications officer to deliver research-related public-facing web pages and trade press
Conference and key research programmes
· Lead on the cross-organisational researcher-facing communications activities for the ARUK Conference, supporting the Senior Science Communications Officer to develop and deliver a media and PR plan.
· Support the Senior Research Manager to develop an engaging scientific programme for the conference, using insights and knowledge from the dementia community
· Support the cross-organisational Conference steering group to deliver and communicate development plans and related events.
What we are looking for:
· A degree in relevant biomedical science or equivalent experience
· Experience of working in a research environment and an excellent understanding of the experiences and needs of researchers.
· Strong communication skills with the ability communicate effectively and influence a wide range of stakeholders
· Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities, overseeing budgets and identifying risks
· A team player who can collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders internally and externally to deliver
· Commitment to ARUK’s vision, mission and values
· Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information:

About us:
Hospice at Home’s core service is its skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who provide exceptional care and support in people’s last year of life and at end of life, also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.
We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.
Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 85% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families. Our Fundraising team plays a huge part in raising these vital funds.
Our clinical service area covers a mixture of urban and rural communities, a region of approximately 1,500 square miles throughout North and East Cumbria.

· Excellent working knowledge of the charity sector with a good knowledge of Institute of Fundraising guidelines

· Full clean UK driving licence and own transport
Desirable Criteria:
· Leadership qualification (ILM, CMI, CIPD or similar)

The role of the Manager (Tebay) is to:

The Research and Evaluation Manager is core to this work. You will be the research lead in the team – managing the research and evaluation activity that generates the strong evidence base we are known for.
About you
We would like someone who has been involved in the nitty gritty of evaluation research, balancing an interest in the technical sides of answering evaluation questions with an awareness of the practical challenges of doing so. It would be great if you had experience on the research commissioning side, but you could still have the right skills if you have only worked within a contracted research team.
We would like you to have good experience of qualitative research and secondary research. You need to be comfortable with numbers and basic data analysis, but you don’t need to be a quantitative specialist (as we have one of those).
We want you to have some experience working on policy-oriented research and developing policy recommendations. You need to be motivated by change, as well as understanding the problem. You will be a line manager in this role. Line management experience is a desirable attribute – but it is essential you can demonstrate that you have supported other people to deliver their work.

Helpful but not essential experience/skills:

A background and experience of working within food systems; this could be through having worked hands-on on farms, in the public sector on agriculture policy, on corporate sustainability strategies, or through a master’s degree;

A background in project management, public affairs, and relationship management;

A background in movement building, community organising, facilitation and/or advocacy;
-
Experience in fundraising and partnership building;
-
Experience in sales, recruitment, hospitality and/or training;
-
Experience of working in and pushing for change in large organisations.
You will have a few key aspects to your work:

Support the Insiders group. Undertaking meeting prep, presenting documents and supporting recruitment and onboarding of insiders;

Help research and identify partners to turn insider insights into campaigns to influence change within the sector;

Help with the organising of the UK’s first ‘Insider Summit’ where we bring together people doing insider work across a range of industries and forms;

Input on the develop the methodology for insider group development;

Support fundraising efforts;

Help with the project-management of external agencies that are conducting delivery work for each project, from conception through to delivery and dissemination with civil society organisations, government, media and/or investors.
